Christianity EtcRe: Help, I Am Losing My Religion by JeSoul(f): 7:13pm On Mar 10, 2009
davidylan:
that's not true. John the Baptist in prison had to question Christ's divinity openly at one point despite the fact that he saw the dove alight on Christ and heard God's voice directly.

I feel Kenn's point, we live in an era where christians are no different from unbelievers.
True but I doubt John was remotely close to the position Kenn finds himself in. Occasional doubt and uncertaintainy is expected, nobody's perfect, but Kenn describes himself as pretty much athiest. To me that is very different from a christian who once in a while doubts and is uncertain.

And I wouldn't even use the reason that in todays climate 'christians are no different from unbelievers'. While its true it does not excuse anyone in the sight of God why they did not follow His word. The bible is available for all to read and learn and understand that the massive amounts wolves in sheeps clothing was predicted. Like Kunle suggested:
KunleOshob:
I suggest you study the new testament with an open mind to understand the true gospel of christ as different from what is being taught in church today. this is how the bible defines religion.
Christianity EtcRe: Help, I Am Losing My Religion by JeSoul(f): 4:35pm On Mar 10, 2009
Kenn perhaps the reason you're "losing your religion" is perhaps because you've never really had it.

It seems like you became a catholic/christian because its what you were raised to believe in and you never really took the time and attention to study and test what it is you really believed and more importantly why you believed it.

I always say that knowledge and pursuit of God is a personal journey. Stop taking your family, the churches, friends words for who and what God and religion is and search it out for yourself. The fact that you feel "guilty" speaks of evidence to me that you have faith and believe in a God. I will not be as bold as to tell you what you should believe in, but go back to the basics, forget all you've 'learned' and study the bible by and for yourself - and ask God to give you understanding and wisdom to comprehend the word or else you'll just end up more confused.

And if Kenn you're honest and genuine in your search and quest for truth and God, you'll come out with a fresh perspective and a whole new understanding of who God is and what the point of this drama called life is. I really pray you the best.

Being brainwashed by the Vatican is hardly what any sane person would consider "Christian values"
wisdom is beautiful thing to behold.

DeReloaded:
Jose Cardoso Sobrinho, the conservative regional archbishop for Pernambuco where the girl was rushed to hospital, has said that the man would not be thrown out of the Church, because although he had allegedly committed "a heinous crime", the Church took the view that "the abortion, the elimination of an innocent life, was more serious".

"The doctors did what had to be done: save the life of a girl of nine years old. In this case, the medical profession was more right than the Church."
angry I shivered at the cold, callous heart void of compassion who uttered such a disgusting statement. In this case I 1000% support the mother and her decision to terminate . . . she is 9 yrs old for crying out loud! All those who said that "life must always be protected" should be tortured angry The "church" cares more about themselves and their precious laws than they do the very people they're supposed to be serving. May the judgement of God not escape those who suffer the little children.

Assists, rebounds, scoring and steals all this from a 6 ft guard are you guys kidding me? CP3 is better jare
You're right. but like Bawo pointed out by only a small margin and Deron has been injured and down for much longer than Paul this season and still has almost identical numbers - that has to count for something.

I am not sold-out on the Jazz just yet they have to become a better road team if they are going to make their presence felt and i still have the feeling the Lakers and the Spurs with a healthy Ginobili may be too strong for them
You're right in that the road blues are their major weakness, but I think if they keep playing at this level they can overcome it. They're playing with a lotta confidence right now.

As for Deron and CP3 i think CP3 has a better all round game than Deron he is definitely a better passer and rebounder not to mention steals he just has too many facets to his game
3 weeks ago I woulda agreed but I'm not so sure. CP3 is flashier and is def a steal machine but Deron has been injured and coming back now his stats are matching up with Paul pretty closely. We'll see by season's end who's looking better, but its a very close race.

I am officially recognizing and nominating the Jazz as a possible threat to the Lakers out west smiley. They have everything in place to make a run . . . except that road swagger needed to beat the big teams. and Deron Williams seems to be matching CP3 stride for stride, and he seems like a much better shooter than Paul too, I am impressed.

As for the Cavs- Celtics game, once again the home team wins . . .bt the one thing that stood out like a sore thumb is how much the Cavs missed Ben Wallace's inside presence. I mean 3rd quarter I saw we were outscoring them in the paint by close to 40 pts - without KG! I thot Ben was washed up but it looks like he means more to the team than I thot. Joe Smith wasn't much of a muscle . . . Baby and Powe pretty much bullied him, mop hair Varejao and Ill-gus-gus all night.

chiogo:
Nice game by Boston against cleveland,  Ray-Ray really had his game on check. Paul Pierce is def The Truth! I gotta admit that Leon Powe really stepped up to the plate, can't believe I under-rated him, you were right jesoul.
I've been kinda slow on my team these days, where did that Mikki Moore dude come from? Anyway, he definitely brought his game.
I'm telling you Powe is the muscle that makes our bench certified bullies  grin. Name it, he does it. Charges? check. 3pt plays? check. Offensive rebounds? check. Hussle & energy? double check. Leon Powe should be up there for 6th man of the year cool

Bossman:
Yes. I a have been on several cruises. Coincidentally, I am heading out for another one on the 21st. It's spring-break for the kids, and they have come to expect either a cruise or a Caribbean vacation every year. This one is Western Carribean leaving out of Miami. from the 22 - 29. The islands to be visited visited are Roatan, Honduras, Cozumel, Mexico, Belize, and the Bahamas. We've been to Cozumel and Bahamas several times.

It's extreme fun being on a cruise. Cruising is quite common on this end, may be because of the USA's proximity to the Caribbean. There are lots of things to do during those 7 days. The cruise ships themselves are just like a city. Several restaurants, Night clubs, day care for the kids, gym, spa, arcade. several pools, etc. I am sure you guys are aware of all the amenities. The key thing is that you get a chance to visit several countries/islands at once. You get to each port in the morning, and you leave about 8 - 9 hours later. We normally take an excursion/tour of the island, then end up at the beach.

As for costs, it depends on the cabin type you have. A balcony cabin (we always get a balcony) will cost about $150 more per person than an inside cabin, It normally averages out to about $1000/person + tax. And everything is included. You do not need to spend a dime extra on the cruise ship. Anything you do at the ports, excursions, etc. are all on you. Also, consider you may need to fly/drive to the port city you are leaving from. For example, this cruise leaves out of Miami, so we are flying into Miami a day before.

If anyone is interested in seeing pictures of some cruises we have been on and islands. PM me. And I will send you a link to view them on kodakgallery.com. That will likely give you a better idea.

Peace!
wow what a wealth of information! thanks!! kiss few more Q's . . . How much on average would you say you spend at the stops taking tours, visiting the countries, buying souvenirs etc ? and what about safety when stopping at these ports/countries? are they relatively safe? also can one stay in touch as in internet, cell phones etc while on the ship?
and I'd absolutely love to see pictures, I'll send u my email add. Thanks a bunch Bossman!

The Ring had been lying about my apartment for a long time. So I called a few friends over. I can't watch horror stuff alone.
