Moonstone,
I've just about given up on the Hornets. There's no passion or excitement on their part about heading to the postseason. And how long is Posey supposed to be out for?

@topic, so this is where all the fun is? titles can be misleading.

@Karma,
I perused thru ur top list and its decent  tongue  aight I lie, its solid, though I admit I haven't seen a good # of oldie goldies you mentioned and I've heard about . . . so many movies, so little time.

Anyways, here's my top movies. Not necessarily the 20 "best movies" ever made but more like my personal fav movies. And coming from someone who still wakes up on saturday mornings to watch batman, tom & jerry, spidey, tmnt cartoons  cheesy my list is 'lighter' than the average movie critic.

Shawshank Redemption
A time to Kill
Amistad
The Prestige
Sister Act 1 & 2
Goodfellas
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (original)
Dark Knight
Sixth Sense
Ratatouille
Coming to America
Mystic River
The Matrix
Back to the future
The Bourne Identity
Blood Diamond
Aladdin
Home Alone 1 & 2
Silence of the Lambs
The usual suspects

and you may roll your eyes on some of these but I LOVE comedy:
Trading Places
BeetleJuice
Meet the Parents
Shrek
Norbit
White Chicks
Bringing down the House
My big fat greek wedding
The Mask
Bruce Almighty

As for PHX well now we know they got the short end of the stick by trading two of their best defenders in Bell and Diaw and even when they had them they where not a marquee defensive team
One has to wonder much longer Steve Kerr will last in Phx, he has destroyed that team kpatakpata.

I happen to think this might be bad for the lakers. Integrating a major player 2 games into the playoffs who hasn't played in months has in the past proven to mess up team chemistry and balance and has sometimes been fatal. We'll see.

Nail on the head #2 smiley.
I was especially annoyed when he called up the blind guy and was insulting and abusing him huh it was just weird and clumsy.

the only good part of the movie was when he was carrying the fish tank up to the motel room and he attendant was sooo shocked. he asked, how long will you be staying? , til i die, he said. grin grin (or smthng like that)lol
Nailed #3 smiley by far the 'best' part/line of the movie.

what i'm just simply saying is that know your audience as a film maker and cater for them.
I may be wrong but I think 7 pounds was 'serious' and was attempting to be an oscar candidate and ended up being a scrub. And ppl were doubly disappointed becos for a top notch actor like Will Smith we expect a top notch movie, not the clumsy slap toghether we got.

this is just my own view on film making. everybody will not like 7 pounds just like everbody will not like slumdog millionaire. but this is what i belive some movies are generally accepted to be good and some are generally accepted to be bad. i think 7 pounds is in between. cheers
True. But I think 7 pounds has mostly been on the negative side . . . soon as word got out it wasn't that good, it didn't last long in the theatres. Of course some ppl will like it, but I'm willing to bet my lunch they will be in the minority.

I think yesterday's game put an end to the deron williams vs chris paul nonsense.
deron williams is a playmaker, chris paul is a scorer who throws alley oops for assists.
While I've believed Williams right up there with Paul, 1 game does not solve it . . . we need at least 2-3 seasons of head to head. Paul is still slightly ahead in most categories.

What do you guys mean the movie is crap?  huh

Abegi, I prefer Will Smith in these heart-rending roles to his action roles.

Rubbish pundits nearly made me believe the film was crap as well.

WTH is Slumdog Millionaire? I wouldn't watch that film if you paid me.
That was exactly what I said before I watched it and I was pleasantly suprised. It deserved every one of those oscars it got. How can you smack on a movie you haven't watched?  huh

I decided not to comment on this page cos I only saw it once and i felt it wasnt that bad. I cant really analyse it well cos i saw it once but, instead of just saying its crappy, its bad, why not analyse it and tell us reasons why you think its bad. I remember i like the fact that i wasnt spoonfed the whole movie. i felt will's acting convinced me. cos of the subtility in the way he conveyed his character.
ok lets just take it bit by bit. what do you think of
1. Acting (tell us why you think it was bad)
2. storyline and plots
3. camera and editing

etc.

why i'm doing this is because i feel the guys in this tread know something about film. I'm not talking to die hard nollywood fans here.
later!
Everything iice said X2  smiley  . . . and my own 2 shillings:

1. The acting and scene placements were sketchy & disjointed. It looked like the editor took the filmed scenes and loosely slapped them together on his lunch break. Imagine a man with a broken leg trying to walk & run without crutches, that's how I felt the movie was 'progressing' the whole time.

2. I absolutely HATED not 'knowing' what the hell was 'going on' until the end. I know suspense is good but when you give your audience no real and solid information to hold their intrest you lose them. The only reason I didn't walk out is I hoped it would get better and I hate to waste 10 bucks.

3. Camera and editing: see point 1.

If I had watched it on dvd I would prob not be so harsh, but the fact that I spent $10 and 2 hours on it only aggravates me further  angry

Plaxico is almost certain to spend time behind bars. I would def rule him out for at least next season. Even if he's not in jail, Goodell will not let him back that easy.

Chicago will regret this trade when Cutler starts throwing tanturms and Denver is cashing in on their two 1st and 3rd rd picks and smiling all the way to the playoffs.

For Bawo and A-40

I caught this article on nba.com pertaining to your recent beef on whether Dirk belongs in the hall of fame or not.
http://www.nba.com/2009/news/features/rob_peterson/04/03/mvp.20090403/index.html

Steve Nash: If every NBA MVP is in the Hall, what does that say about two-time winners? You got it. Lock. Plus, as a Canadian, you must take into account his international contributions.

Dirk Nowitzki: See also, Steve Nash minus one MVP. Being one of the first international players to make a huge impact on the NBA should guarantee his place in Springfield.
Apparently 100% of mvp winners get into the hall of fame. Bawo you've lost this round . . .  cheesy A-40 congratulations!
