Re: Would You Vote For An Openly Gay, Atheist Or Idol Worshipping Politician? It depends. Who are the other candidates? cos I'll take a gay, atheist or idol head whose record has shown a genuine care and concern for his/her people over a 'christian' whose record show zero accomplishments while they loot and pad their pockets. |
bawomolo:that one na nuthin now its not like ya'll were going to the playoffs anyways ![]() na wa o, they were lucky to beat a bynum-less laker team and they talking about ringsI like how people continue to delude themselves that small boy bynum woulda made a championship changing difference last finals carry on, whatever makes you feel good brotha ![]() |
Pastor AIO:AIO, I always wondered why you bothered with his posts. ^^ explains it. Don't be suprised he never returns back to threads when solid answers are given to him . . . that was my experience when he first came on NL, when I saw that he wouldn't stick around long enough to finish the thread and respond, it reeked of intellectual dishonesty and emotional bias and I stopped patronizing his threads. Some of the other atheists around open threads and are at least honest and follow thru. Which is more than I can say for Like you said healthy skepticism is good, but when the skeptic is obsessed and biased from the get-go, any "discussion" seems to me like an exercise in futility. You make a very good point that others reading may benefit from engaging him . . . that's why I thank God for you and your patience to do just that |
mazaje:Mazaje, you are better than this |
bawomolo:Out for how long?
Y'all did not miss Rose Kirk Hinrich did pretty well albeit against a Pistons missing Hamilton,Wallace,McDyess and A.I
Just when they were starting to garner some momentum too. The injury bug has been working overtime this year. I hope teams have their major players come playoffs, else it'd be a darn shame to see half-legged teams trying to do battle. And what's with Arenas dude should get on the court already if i signed a 111 million $$ contract for 6 years i would play on crutches or a wheelchair if i hard to damnit!!If the 15-56 wizards were your team you would be reluctant to return too but bottomline is he did sign that contract. |
Its the bitter truth that dude is a very whack ball player! He also needs to get rid of that head band i mean real ball players like Lebron,Jason Terry,Carmelo Anthony and co. are wearing head bands and Erick Dampier is wearing head bands with them
lol I will throw you an e-party the day Erika leaves the mavs ![]() HuhTrue. And if I had to pick fancy over championships . . . the answer is easy, gimme the rings! ![]() I have not written the Suns off yet ooh! If we finish 8th we might as well not bother to go for the playoffs they still whooped our ass without Bynum so i don't know how we would fare when he gets back as for Shaq i think he is trying to catch Abdul-Jabbar and M.J which is very unlikely but he is fifth all time now i think thats what's driving him because i am sure in his heart of hearts he knows he can't win anymore ringsI dunno. We all assumed him done after last season only for him to drop this season on us. But if he stays with the current roster of suns, there is zero chances of any championships. |
manmustwac:I agree 100% with the above. And I will also add that a lot of people help raise money for charity not because the bible say this or the bible says that but because the love of God inside them drives them to express that love by helping others. I know that's what drives me. Unlike that very religious country called Nigeria where a pastor will buy $24:8 million on a plane while his congregation are struggling. And as far as am concerned religion is the main problem with Nigeria.I share your disdain for those pastors, I wished they could all be wiped off the planet for good. Where I part ways with you is when you blanketize the problems in Nigeria as the fault of religion. Nigeria's problems are much more deeper and complex than just false prophets and blind followers. The masses should forget about all these big prayer conventions at Easter time, gather together and march to Aso Rock cause a riot and demand change. I believe that would they would see a better result than if they just decided to pray.If I were in Nigeria I would be first in line for this demonstration .I think I once said to you that the bible does not advocate prayer divorced from action - actually just the opposite! I pray to God to give me a good life and good health but I also go out and work hard and take care of my body. That attitude and approach is what the bible teaches . . . not the millions of zombies who stay home and in church praying from morning till night and folding their arms doing nothing to change the country or their situation. |
Joking Noah cannot possibly be as bad as Erick Dumbpier i would rather play Earl Boykins or Nate Robinson as my center than that idiot
Kai Its pretty frustrating and i have seen him run away with a couple of dodgy steals as well sometimes i wonder if all the refs in this league are on his payroll. As for Lebron well he does not hide his traveling does he sometimes lol he even went creative with it and called it the crab-walkI would not be suprised if he were sending them offseason freebies Both of them will be involved in many controversial calls come playoff time. I'm just waiting to see what papa stern does about it.Hmm i am not sure it was the same finals we watched in 05 ooh!! did you miss Robert Horry's clincher in game 5 at the Palace? that was one of the most evenly contested Finals in playoff history it went all the way to game 7 and either team would have won it lol if that Final was boring what would you say about 07 Final one of the first NBA Finals game i would watch and doze off in the process most one-sided in history trust me the Spurs would not forget that Pistons series in a hurryAbeg it was forgetable jare ![]() My sista the 8th spot is not even promised PHX is only 3 games behind or thereabout and if we do make the playoffs then we would be lucky not to get swept by the Lakers in 4 games i don't see us doing a Golden State Warriors upset not on Kobe or Gasol's watch we have to move up those standings PHX self is on a mini-streak . . . guess Shaq's not done yet lol. I still think ya'll gon get that 8th spot but I just fear for ya'll facing the Lakers as a reward ![]() |
bawomolo:Infact eh I'm shaking in my 4inch heels ![]() It will be at least 2-3 yrs playa get used to it ![]() |
Lets make a trade! Joakim Noah for Erick Dampier
hehe Bawo what say ye?Now you see how we got mugged back in 06My brotha I knew he was getting special treatment but this season is just ridiculous . Dude charges into the paint like a headless chicken and the officials automatically blow the whistle. The league must address this and I'm glad coaches and analysts are starting to speak up about it. And they must address the traveling rule too . . . dudes like Lebron have been getting away with it too much.Duncan might be boring but i don't think the rest of the Spurs are they play efficient basketball and thats what counts the Spurs are boring is a myth i once believed but not anymore after watching their playoff series with the Suns and the MavsYeah they become palatable once you watch them with an exciting team such as the Suns . . . but remember their finals with Detroit few yrs ago? talk about a drag, it was prob the lowest rated finals ever However I do like the upcomers on the team like Roger Mason. And I've liked Ginobili since he entered the league . . . his only problem is that sometimes he's inconsistent in his numbers n impact.Anyways how una dey fare trying to hold on to that 8th spot? men, your reward will be a first Rd. exit at the hands of those Lakers . . . unless ya'll can do to them when GS did to ya'll few yrs ago. |
huxley:Literally. I just thot it slightly comical that you'd open a thread and ask for others to ask the questions for you. Common now Huxley don't feign innocence, you know why most christian NLders don't patronize your threads. Your reputation precedes and undermines whatever legitimacy might be contained in your threads/questions. |
lol . . . I gotta admit, you have your moments of genuine humor. So is anyone going to help out Huxley? |
But parkers game to me is 1 sided. I mean he goes through pick and roll all the time.Thnaks to Duncan who can screen better. Its always the Same old thing.
You have a point. But you gotta admit his 1-sided game is very effective. When he drives into the paint most teams can't stop him. He'll need to really develop his outside/jump shooting game as his gets older. And if you think about it it seems like the Spurs MO is to dare you to knock down jumpers & beat them from outside the paint. I am so Happy Lakers are there so even Spurs go by Houston.Lakers are waiting for them For real.Kobe has made the NBA looking over thier shoulders for him.I really respect the guy.Going down and coming back up again.Lebron is another guy.I never liked him at first.I thought he was just a kid who was hyped but men,i am loving that guy lately oo.Dunks, shots, moves block ,steals.I mean The NBA now is about this two.I would love to see both of them at the FinalsYou're right about Kobe and Lebron being the two major stars of the league now & Bron is the MVP. I also felt the same way about Lebron when he first came in the nba but this season alone has dispelled any doubts I may have had. Dude is a bonafide alien and I can't believe how much better he's gotten on defense. I woulda loved to see them head-to-head at the finals too . . . but that would mean my C's would not be there so no can do ![]() |
Yea u right.he is lazy on defence.Thats wot makes ron artest a better player but he is still a very good player. Was very happy they won spurs(i hate those guys)
Why now? The Spurs are consummate professionals & Duncan n co have a handful of rings to their credit. The only thing we all have against them is that they are boring to watch. Though Parker and Ginobili do keep things intresting a bit. |
darrytoz:What do you need the 'baptist ladies' for? ![]() |
huxley:lol . . . persecution card? I will assume that to be an attempt at a joke. I will not 'address' those questions becos you raised them. I'm not worried about If Bawo, Chris, Manmustwac or Mazaje open a thread and raise those questions and invite opinions from christians, I will be the first to jump on board. Becos I know you're not really intrested in discussion as your history here has shown . . . small wonder no one but AIO replies your threads. I've already said that the only thing you've shown you care about is ridiculing, slandering, jeering, scoffing and mocking christians and christianity. |
huxley:*did not waste my time reading ^^* Huxley I have 'known' you since the first day you started posting on NL and the only thing you've shown you care about is ridiculing, slandering, jeering, scoffing and mocking christians and christianity. |
T.mac is my man.so sad he get injuries everyyear. With ron artest with them.i pray they deal with the west and shows them how its going down but this time.i pray them make it pass the first round
Get another man Mcgrady has always been lazy on defense. You cannot be a true star if you don't play both ends of the court. Anyways the Rockets look like a team with a mission right now, they didn't need TMac afterall. |
bawomolo:Scared wetin? dude ya'll are at least 2-3 yrs and 2-3 veteran player additions from being a legitimate contender.bawomolo:I still can't believe Houston is #2 in the west . The Rockets should find a way to dispatch T-Mac this summer. This team obviously does not need him. It's obviously dwayne wade has bribed referees. He and Kobe tend to get some mind boggling calls.Seriously . It's a shame to the league. That play yesterday on Stucky was a foul, and if it had been reversed with Wade taking the shot he woulda gotten the foul. To add insult on top he was outta bounds when he caught the rebound. I hope Stern does something about how officiating is biased in favor of the stars mostly Wade. |
JJ you're right. We should praise good things just as vehemently as we condemn the not-so-good things. The scholarships and funds to help start small businesses of the congregation are a good thing. As for some of the other things on the list ![]() |
manmustwac:My brotha you may be suprised to know that a lot of biblical christians share a lot of the sentiments you expressed above. We do care along with you that 'religion' in Naija is for the most part negatively affecting the nation. We do care just as much as you do. The thing is most atheists throw a blanket and condemn all things christian. So much good, so much work and charity is done by true christians practicing true religion all around the world. But most atheists turn a blind eye to that and instead focus solely on the famous pastors aka wolves in sheeps clothing saying "this is what christianity is". This to me is an intellectually dishonest position, they are obviously mostly emotionally driven and it immediately takes away any credibility from the atheist. These atheists chanting "death to religion", how many people have they themselves clothed? fed? helped? housed? for these people they supposedly 'care' so much about? I'm not saying they shouldn't condemn wrongdoing when they see it, but the way most of them go about it here on these boards shows their motive is not anything close to compassion or care, but moreso a public show of their unhealthy obsession and hatred for religion. |
chiogo:Gotcha. and we should keep the # of newbies as low as possible ![]() Hmm girl, that's his personal business. Drinking ain't got a damn thing to do with b-ball so long as he doesn't look drunk on the court. Though I see him differently now in the moral aspect but that doesn't change one from being a good player. I've only watched him play a few times so maybe he's not all that.Mehn personal business matters much more than we'd like to admit oh. The way you carry yourself off court speaks a lot about the professional that you are. That DUI tells me that he is not a disciplined or mature person. bawomolo:Abegi, one-hit wonders boku for ground. Come see us again homie, only the bony stalk will be left by the time we pluck all the petals off your precious Rose ![]() |
bawomolo:Honesty. It is a beautiful thing. Now I hope the 'others' can stop deluding themselves that they actually 'care'. davidlyan - what makes you think secular people can't be altruistic?I don't think he meant they all can't be. I have met some wonderfully kind hearted but unfortunately non-believing people. However I'm willing to bet that majority of those strutting around on NL spewing hate towards all things religion on vicious junk threads are only exercising self-worship and self-deception, they have conned themselves into thinking they actually "care" |
SeanT21:Yup. Disappointing ending. |
bawomolo:Naysayers like you shall be put to shame. Amen. ![]() [s]Kobe bryant would be shut down in Chicago[/s], walahi.Rephrase: Kobe bryant would shut down Chicago . . . there that makes much more sense now ![]() |
kenny888:I'm glad you used the word perception becos from a biblical standpoint, there is no basis for ever "pleading the blood of Jesus". I asked this same question a while ago and got no solid answer. See the thread: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-124301.0.html |
chiogo:Nah I don't think Pruitt is all that at all. Plus Doc can't give him minutes cos we need to integrate Marbury who's a proven player. I think Walker has potential, but he's not playoff ready and tested at all. Powe and Davis were once in his position and they've gotten so much better. It just takes time. That's not true, girl. You're so wrong for that one. I watch college b-ball and sometimes, they seem like the Nba stars to me 'cause some so-called nba stars can't match up to some of 'em. Just 'cause you've been in the NBA for a century doesn't make you the best. Getting drafted into the NBA mostly depends on the type of school you go to. If you attend a ghetto mess of a school(eg. My school, lolz), yo ass is likely not gonna be drafted because your school isn't prestigious enough to even be recognized in order for you to be noticed. Besides, how do these players get better if they don't get plays? Sitting on the bench watching cannot really help you play, you gotta feel the ball and be able to control it. Homeboys need to toughen up, mediocre isn't cutting it. Rookie, bench, whatever. . .is Ariza not from the bench? Why is his case different?I don't doubt you can have a few stars in the NBDL or overseas better than some NBA players. BUT by and large the best players in the world are in the NBA. Bench players esp from the NBDL can get playing time if they impress the coach during practice and make an impact in the short minutes they get in the actual game. Pruitt is not exactly a beacon of hussle, don't get me wrong he's a nice player but not ready to run the ship of a championship team. and he hasn't done himself any favors esp with the recent DUI. Garnett would also be playing tomorrow. Right now, I don't think Celtics should be worrying about # 1 spot in the east. They already clinched(sp?) to the playoffs, they just gotta worry about controlling their losses and try to keep it minimum as is now which means more wins.Well said. I personally believe that KG is the best player on that team but I hate how everyone is fussing over him. I was at first but seriously, he's just one person and if celtics can't win some without him, then I'm really sorry for them. Why are they even in the NBA? B-ball is all about picking up the pace. I understand the whole team thingy but that doesn't mean relying on one person. The Celtics were fine short term without Garnett, remember they lost only 1 or 2 games over a long stretch. and that even prompted some espn analysts to ask if we were better without KG. You're forgetting we also lost Rondo, Tony Allen, Scal, Davis and that's when we started dropping games. And when you replace these kinds of quality players with uproven untested NBDLers and recent recruits you cannot expect the same winning results. The only thing is to make sure we are healthy early April. I have 100% confidence in the team when they're at full strength. |
spikedcylinder: Recognise:It would appear to be so. I haven't heard of it before myself . . . or maybe its just in Germany? can one of our catholic brethren clarify? |
Poor fella. He coulda avoided this hassle, if only he'd ever picked up his bible to read he'd know by now that he was never really baptised. |
chiogo:Well can you blame them? Bill Walker in the past few games has been our closing center, Pruitt back up PG |
bawomolo:Beasely ain't no beast jare. A few bright spots in one game does not certify a man jor. Paul Pierce should stop whining about recognition, you can't carry a team like Lebron, wade, kobe or even Chris PaulSee insult to the Finals MVP . . . . who are these yeye people dissing #34? did you see the 4thQ and overtime explosion? 36 - 11 - 5 and yes HE carried the team ![]() He can't carry a team like CP3 and Wade? ![]() |
7players down to injuries. Kai! all the curses from Lailai have come to fruition ![]() |

Both of them will be involved in many controversial calls come playoff time. I'm just waiting to see what papa stern does about it.

.
but umm, yeah, Celtics gotta pick up the pace. They're impressive so far against the heat. Homeboy Wade is not playing. yes!
