RomanceRe: What Is Wrong With Polygamy? ( Comments From Men Only Please). by jidewin(m): 8:44am On Sep 17, 2012
But do you know how easy it is for some married women to easily push their husbands into polygamy. Many single ladies (mistresses-to-be) out there wish to have at least a taste of what they (wives) 'presumably enjoy or at most,a companion, someone who could make them happy. Polygamy isn't ideal, but I bet you most men find themselves in such a scenario in circumstances they never prepared for.
Life is sweet with women, yet could be very distasteful when they manifest their ugly side.
I would say,if your mistress(es) ends up having baby(ies) for you, take your kid(s) but let them be.
For me,father of many is safer than husband of many.
PoliticsRe: South Africa Is Nigeria's Big Brother - Minister by jidewin(m): 2:00pm On Sep 02, 2012
I don't know if the Minister should be saying such or not. But what he said is not far from truth!

Take this comparison listed below:

GDP: S/A is a member nation of BRICS while Nigeria is nowhere near that standard yet.
Energy: S/A generates 50,000MW of electricity while Nigeria's 4,500MW!
Fuels: S/A exports refined pet. products while Nigeria imports refined products.
Forces: S/A armed forces basic equipment (guns, ammo, boats, helicopters, tanks, electronic gadgets) are produced locally by Armscor while Nigerian army still use AK-47.
Manufacturing: S/A's industrial output is rated by CIA.org as almost twice d entire African continent including Nigeria.
Investment: J'burg Stock Exchange (JSE) is more capitalized than the rest of subsaharan Africa combined.
Banking: S/A's top two banks; Standard & 1st Rand are bigger than the entire Nigerian banking industry in terms of capital base, reach, turnover & profits. Our StanbicIBTC is owned by Standard.
Brand presence: across Africa, S/A brands have impressive presence (dstv multichoice, shoprite, telcom, eskom, vodacom, mtn, stanbic, protea, kickoff etc). Same cannot be said of so many Nigerian brands. Thou kudos to Dangote, 1st Bank & few that are trying. Sadly, it's tough without the backing of a strong government.

This stats above tell me who is big brother to who. Besides Nigerians chase S/A visa about & I don't see any S/African pushing for a Nigerian visa.
A resounding Gbam!!! But will those bunch of rogues in government read this and think? For wherehuh??

Kenyanstar: I am sorry to break your heart guys. South africa is BIG in every way. Be it big brother, big economy, big investment, big money, big infrastructure and even big yansh wink lol. Anyway truth be told Nigeria is trailing in every aspect of social, economic and political class except, well, giving birth. The big uncontrolled birth rate aside, Nigeria hasnt moved beyond her borders to establish any big economical invesment outside Nigeria. Compare this to Kenya's superior international offshore investments. Among this investments are:-
-Telecommunication sector (safaricom mobile),
-Financial sector ( Kenya commercial bank in south sudan, Uganda, rwanda etc)
-Supermarket franchises ( Nakumatt hypermarket, Uchumi hypermarket in all east african countries)
-Transport business( simba coach, Mash Auto, Easy coach, Intercontinental Bus company) operating in all east, central and southern African countries.
-Air transport (Kenya airways which is international, Fly 540 which is regional, Easy jet)etc.
This is just a few of the many organizations that the Kenyans have managed to put their interests in.
Lets just say KENYA also plays a big Sister role to nigerias future cheesy

Christianity EtcRe: Pastor-Adeboye's Message To Young Singles On Marriage by jidewin(m):
k2039: This is pure common sense, that if someone sends a list of names or pictures to a pastor, all you are saying is pastor, who is the best match out of the whole list, what that means is the best husband on the list, and that doesnt equate to your best husband in the world. That way they have narrowed God down to choose out of their list.
The right procedure will be to opens ones mind to God without any preconceive idea of anybody and after receiving, you then ask for confirmation from a pastor(pastor,I receive so and so,I want you to pray along with me if He/she is the will of God,that way you know if your choice is from God or your emotions).
But its easier said than done, sometimes our emotions just takes over,
Help me out on this one, besides Adam whom God chose eve for, could you point me any other bible character God chose a wife for? Thanks

An incidence happened between me and a doctor friend, a taxi picked us from hatfield to sunny side and lied that our bill was 100r rather than 50r, we went to the police that night and my friend had to sleep in the cell cos we don't speak Zulu....... He better shout out on platforms like NL, south Africa treat Nigerian like dogs, check the issue of Nigeria pro wrongfully accused, the govt never did anything to it......
Mr broda. You made a point but you see,if your friend still have valid papers and proper permit,he is within his rights to engage a lawyer and sue the cab driver, the police officer who got him locked up and indict the police station as well.Believe me sir,I've seen cases here where wrongful detention have made them (SAPS) pay heavy damages(hundred of thousands of rands) to Nigerian victims...right here in kempton park.
Christianity EtcRe: What Is The Difference Between SOUL & SPIRIT? by jidewin(m): 5:43am On Jun 23, 2012
Maybe my version will be easier to understand. A Man (Human) is A Soul.
He exists and is sensed on Earth among the living cos he have A Body. You can't exist as a Man on earth, among the living, without a Human Body.
The controlling factor, which directs his acts, thoughts etc is via an External Driving Force....I.e Spirit which could be Good or Bad.
The mans body could be habited or co-habited by Spiritual elements and entities. While his Soul could also be made subject to these entities.

Fellow countrymen,Please calm down. When I saw this story on NL this morning,I was like WTFhuhAnd I concur with henrychubayos post. No matter what,as long as the dude was not hindered from free movement,he should report the case at a police station, but first at the Nigerian High Commission in Joburg.
I have and am still driving on SA roads and have been stopped for driving particulars (good thing the company uses car rentals). There is no denying that SAP and Metro Cops are as corrupt as Officers of NPF. Anything for R10-R20.However whenever I'm stopped for drivers license,I calmly give them my international drivers license I got from lagos while I also address officers as 'sir or Maam'.
They made comments to my face about Nigerians and how "funny" they are (guess u know the funny indicate negative remark) but I simply smile and respond calmly, again with a sir or maam.(Their women in uniform can shout at men ANYHOW,foreign or local)
Please,be prayerful always. Also,be humble in responding to questions from foreign authorities. If they don't ask, don't answer or go into stories. If asked any question, give curt response and politely. Again,no stories. Dem no too like english grammar sef.
I'm sorry for my countryman whose travel document was torn. However if he still want to come home,He should simply collect a T.C (travel certificate) at our consular and case is settled while investigations goes on regarding the SA cop misdemeanour. Hopefully,if his name or number tag could be recollected, the officer will be in for questioning. As notorious as SA could be,The media are doing very well in exposing BAD cops with facts and prosecutions follows. Whether white, colored or black.
Peace!!!.

SamAfrik: My point is, be positive whenever you are entering a relationship, regardless of the age and prevailing circumstances. Reminds me of a popular saying; "may I not treat my future husband as ordinary boyfriend". My hearts bleeds each time I see 'balanced' bachelor getting married to non-Nigerians while our sisters are remaining single @ home (Nigeria)hence no child, no family, impaired life fulfilment. And these countries (beneficiaries) still see and clasify ALL Nigerians as rogues and criminals.
I mean this cry of lonliness is a modern phenomenon, which I believe naturally should not be coming from a country such as Nigeria. We are not Iran, SA, Europe that are either suffering from shortage of men or high proportion of irresponsible ones. A typical Nigerian man thinks of raising and making life comfortable for his family, his financial status notwitstanding.
My advice again: Please ladies be serious with your man as long as he has a future and you share same values. And make it early cos most 'ready made' guys are either engaged or married.
Correct!!!

Don't you think if these issues pop up, we should lash the leaders(senators and president) some strokes of cane for allowing well meaning Nigerians leave a country because of their lackadaisical attitude towards taking drastic decisions that will turn the youths to favor their country from any region of the world.

If these groups of men were accorded to reasonable loans to study at all by any reputable banks in Nigeria, will they have to do these scams to raise up something tangible for their education and accommodation in foreign land? If the nations educational system is not infinitum, will they even leave in the first place? esere826: 18 ) LOOK INTO THE MIRROR: What do the recruiters see? This is still about appearance, but how it relates to your CV. Ignoring your actual age, if you look like, and present your CV like you are in your 30's the recruiter would expect to see someone just like that with an amount of experience and pay rate that goes with that age bracket in many instances. Once more, I've stepped into a maze that is not so simplistic.

So for example, someone in her mid 30's should have clocked at least some 10 years of experience and be looking for a job on the medium to high pay rate (say from 15GBP upwards of 30 GBP per hr. U go dey do urself some harm if for that kine CV u dey write -worked as a volunteer for 2 months in Boys scout. Show and act like you have indeed worked for more than a decade. Forget the pity party of trying to explain that Nigeria schools dey always go on strike plus say u do NYSC. If u tok like dat, dem go smile and say "we will get back to you". And they won't. But remember you need to actually have the experience of the job you are going in for, if not, you'll be fired. Getting fired as a contrator is not really a bad thing if you are extremely smart. This is because the 2 or 3 weeks u spend in the organisation, you'll get paid and actually gain some hands on experience wen u go fit use for the next simlar job. There is a saying in UK that u can't get a job without experience, and you can't get experience without a job. It's a chicken and egg thing u see.

If you look in your 30's you might as well forget graduate roles. You most likeley won't be hired, this is because at 30 looking for such a job, then you most likely are not a 'star'. Remeber also that in UK, there are age discriminatory rulest. So the recruiter won't tell you that it's because of your age. It might even be so subjective that the recruiter does not know why sh'e not taking u. She might might explain it to herself that she just couldn't feel you.

Such age related issues are one of the reasons why professionals in the Uk spend a lot of time in the gym, and some do some minor operations. Of course if you are actually in ur 20's and you've had donkey years of experience, don't fail to flaunt it. You'll be considered a star.

In the next post, I will connect your typically plenty Nigerian qualifications to this topic and tell you how to use it for maximum effect.

Cheers
Looking forwards to it mate.

Redman44: Well, a lot of stuff has been outlined in the other posts on this thread cool cool cool Let me just add my own nuggets of wisdom concerning Things you must know before leaving Nigeria.

1. Don't live beyond your means or else you will have nothing to call your own after 15-20 years in Europe and North America. Just because the British and American citizens all around you are looking good all the time and driving fancy cars, does not mean they are Rich. They're most likely living on credit cards and are living in bondage to debts. So cut you coat according to your size and look for bargains online when buying things you need.

2. Don't trust too many Nigerians because many of them are not happy with their situation. So they might just plot your downfall if you're fresh in the UK or US and doing better than them. Limit your visits to the homes of Family Members and Relatives and don't always announce your moves and plans to them. I'm not saying you should not be close to them but please you need your own space to live your life. Many Africans are bitter over here due to misfortunes they sometimes bring upon themselves. Don't let them unleash their bitterness on you. Don't also tell everyone about your status ( The kind of visa you have or Passport Type )as it can lead to hatred being directed against you.

3. Always send money directly to your Parents and Family Members in Nigeria. Don't send money through people to your loved ones. The cash you sent might not get to them. Tell your parents to give you the details on their National ID Card or Passport so you can send cash to them directly through MoneyGram, Ria or Western Union. They can go mand collect the money themselves in Nigeria.

4. Take the time to feed properly and maintain a balanced diet. Food is not that expensive in the UK and North America. Take the time to shop properly and buy nourishing food, cereals and fruits. Eat well. At least, you owe yourself good meals and food. Stock your Freezer with good food and I bet you won't be falling sick all the time. And don't always buy African food alone. Nigerian Food Products are expensive abroad.

5. Acquire more education and take the time to get training that will boost your earning power. Don't be comfortable working in menial jobs. Menial jobs should be done for a while to gather money that will be used to acquire professional training. There are loads of professional opportunities in Europe but you need to get trained to move up the ladder.

6. Develop a habit of saving. Make sure you have a savings account where you will put aside some money on a weekly or monthly basis. Be disciplined with your savings account and don't touch the cash in it except for emergencies.

7. Lastly, Make God the Pillar of your Life. You need God to survive outside Nigeria smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley.
Splendid and insightful. This post is from a living first hand experience. Now if I may add to it...
*Always remember the Sons and Daughters of who you are.No matter the influence your environment depicts.

Roland17: [b]To be honest, based on my experience and many others here, i would say, Stay away from Nigerians here, especially those you think are Family here, its hard but its the truth, many times they are nothing but BIG trouble, there are many nice people around, including Akata and other nationals, be very open to interact and communicate with them, they would help you faster than even your own brothers that have been here for Donkey years..

If you are not hard working, patient and cant persevere, please just sit your Lazy behind back in Nigeria and don't bother wasting your flight ticket, because like they say " there is no free lunch in the US"

And when you get here to avoid distraction, Stay away from Facebook etc, Focus on improving yourself based on the skills and education you acquired before coming here.

Lastly, Records are very important, be very careful, because if get into the wrong side of the Law, it stays there for donkey years and affects everything you do for life.
