Why are nigerians so negative? Every sensible nigerian should support the FG in this diplomatic row with SA. Even if FG can deport both DSTV and MTN, I am in full support. It is obvious SA is doing this for petty reason. Ask yourself this question; if yellow fever card is that important and is fake, why is it that USA, UK and co has not been deporting nigerians because of that? So it now takes an HIV infested south africans to now know they are in danger of yellow fever cos of fake cards from nigeria. How much is yellow fever immunization for example? Free in any local health centre across and I even give it in my hospital readily available from local immunization office that supplies us. When was the last time I saw yellow fever in clinical practise? They just want to spat on us. Simple. Nigherians are not disgraced abroad just because of corruption but we had been too soft. So what is so special that nigeria got too lose from the diplomatic? Nothing. They are the ones with heavy investment in nigeria. All we need to do is to start imposing 80percent tax regime on MTN and DSTV and only  5percent for indigenous network and see the ripple effect. SA is doing this for petty reason and if we don't respond now, they will soon start deporting nigerians for not taking their bath before boarding a flight

@jidewinTrue members were not compelled to contribute, but tell us was there any benefit, be it physical or spiritual, promised to all contributors/covenant partners. If yes, who wouldnt want to be blessed with plenty money just by giving N50k or N100? But is that not the same things swindlers tell their victims? Am not saying Adeboye is a swindler but what am saying is that if people are promised reward for simple altruistic acts or contribution or ordinary giving people will go out of their way to give. Its simple psychology! My only problem is that Church leaders had use the method to benefit the outside world because am looking at a situation where Adeboye tells his congragation that anyone who trains an indigent child through school would be blessed by God, you can imagine how many street hawkers would be off our streets!
Dekung,
Thanks for asking NICELY.here is my answer:
True members were not compelled to contribute, but tell us was there any benefit, be it physical or spiritual, promised to all contributors/covenant partners We give not necessarily because we expect to benefit in return. If its from the heart.

But is that not the same things swindlers tell their victims? Am not saying Adeboye is a swindler
Yes,swindlers would use same presentation and much more to SWINDLE their victim, however in that case, its a matter of "the Crook" and "the Greedy". Remember bro, even the devil reveals himself as an angel of light too.

The idea of the general overseer asking the congregants to sponsor an indigent to school is a move i strongly support. However,if that should be the case, you and i may just sit back relax and say, "some rich folks from the church are there to sponsor my kids, thus i need no bother" that would be something isn't it.

I contribute only to what i can afford. And if i don't, it has not made me a sinner while even if i do,it is not a VISA to HEAVEN.so lets just do what you and i can and live the rest.
God help us all.
PoliticsRe: Increasing Disrespect For Nigeria Amongst African Nations by jidewin(m): 3:48pm On Mar 06, 2012
odomanis:
One basic fact that those who claim that Nigerians are criminals refuse to consider is the fact that Nigerians in crime are a minute percentage and that does not make Nigerians,Criminals". For instance,if Nigeria with a population of about 160million has 8million of its citizen into crime, people will shout, EEHH 8m Nigerians are criminals, what a large number!. But if a country like Ghana with less than 10m population records 4million of its citizen into crime, the believe in most quarters will be that more Nigerians (8million)are into crime than Ghanaians(4million) therefore Nigerians are criminals.
But the truth is that only 5% of Nigerians are into Crime(8million of 160million) whereas 40% of Ghanaians are into Crime(4million of 10million).
From the above example, which of the 2 countries are more criminally inclined? is it the one that has 5% of its citizens into crime or the one that has 40% of its citizens into crime?  What this equally means is that Nigeria has more good pple (95%) than Ghana(60%).  A country whose 95% percent of the citizens are good and only 5% are into Crime should not be labelled Criminals. It is important we always consider this figures as analysed herein.  God bless Nigeria !
Comrado, thank you for helping me to 'chill' with your write up.Although I do not condone criminality of any sort, but hey,Nigerians are not the WORST of crime perpetrators anywhere in the world.
What my countrymen needs to know and realise is,Nigerians are been despised abroad cos we (and perhaps ghanians) are the only africans who can stand up to any white man in his face and stand our ground. This audacity from an AFRICAN,they can't accept.
NIgerians are not the only love peddlers or drug peddler out there. However,we could as well convert or negative 'skillz' into some ventures more dignifying.

I would have said something differently but choose not to because I was privileged to have attended a community meeting here in Europe. One of the white guys that was married to a Nigerian asked the Nigerian Ambassador to EU why was it that he has been refused permanent residence in Naija and each time he wants to visit Naija he would be made to produce same document given that he travels frequently to Naija? The Ambassador told the white folks that the honest truth was that diplomatic mission is built on reciprocal. That as long as their government continues to make traveling difficult for Nigerians he doubt if our consulate will make it any easier for them. He went ahead to tell everyone that it is not all about a particular country but that that is what is obtainable all over the world. So for those hating the way the issue was handled you had better try and find out the rule of the game.
God bless you immensely my brother for this enlightenment. You see my people, everybody dey try protect their own garri, which is why some thought the actions on the part of Nigerian government is poor.
My countrymen need to visit www.news24.com and www.fin24.com and read what south African nationals stand on the deportation of 125 Nigerians. So many of them even suggested blasting them and their aircraft off south African air space.
This action had been on for long but thank goodness it involved a Nigerian senator, amongst those detained before deportation.
South africans are amongst the foreign nationals who had EXPLOITED this country (of course in connivance with corrupt and greedy government officials)so much in areas of telecommunications and bilateral trade.
Let the DSTV signal but interferred with for 3 days, let MTN networks be disabled for 2 days, you all will witness immediate CHANGES of their dispostions towards Nigerians.
I feel really proud of abike dabiri and the action those who cried out from the government quarters have taken.

1. As a member of the RCCG mission, there was and is no where Pastor adeboye mentioned, stated, indicated nor "demanded every family" to donate N50,000 to support university project.
2.The general overseer simply asked those who want to be covenant partners with him on the project and various categories were ASKED and not INSTRUCTED, to pay ACCORDING to their CAPACITY.Suffice to say it was not a compulsion.
3.Readers and contributors are free to term his humble requests to what they desire, but stop tarnishing the image of pastor adeboye.  Matt 12:36 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."
4.There is absolutely nothing wrong asking your members, friends and interested persons to make contribution towards a project.your contribution is of FREE WILL. after all. ASKING is permitted and directed by God to us all.

Yellow Fever Vaccination Requirements For South Africa

National Department of Health
Prevention of yellow fever in South Africa

Prevention of yellow fever in South Africa
Yellow fever is an infectious vector-borne disease that is caused by a virus transmitted by the bite of an infected mosquito vector such as Aëdes aegypti. South Africa has a risk of introduction of the disease as the mosquito vector exists in the country.

The South African Department of Health would like to inform you of the amendments to the yellow fever vaccination policy for travellers coming from yellow fever risk countries. Travellers from countries with low risk of yellow fever transmission still pose a risk of yellow fever importation into South Africa. Therefore South Africa has reviewed its yellow fever vaccination requirements policy, which will be effective from 1 October 2011.

As of 1 October 2011, all travellers from and to Zambia, in addition to the list of yellow fever risk countries below, will be required to show proof of yellow fever vaccination (unless in possession of a valid waiver certificate). South Africa requires a valid yellow fever certificate from all citizens and non-citizens over one year of age:

• Travelling from a yellow fever risk country (including low risk countries such as Sao Tome and Principe, Somalia, United Republic of Tanzania and Zambia); or
• Having been in transit through a yellow fever risk country. The above requirements are in line with the International Health Regulations (IHR, 2005). The IHR requires countries at risk of yellow fever introduction to employ the following measures:

1.1 To obtain vaccination certificates from individuals travelling from areas determined by the WHO to be at risk of yellow fever transmission. As a result, South Africa will exercise the following measures for all travellers from yellow fever risk countries, who are unable to produce a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate at the port of entry:

• Refuse entry; or
• Quarantine until their certificate becomes valid, for a period of not more than
six days; or
• Those with an exemption certificate due to medical reasons will be :
- allowed entry
- required to report any fever or other symptoms to the health authorities
- be placed under surveillance.

NB: Definition of a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate -vaccination should be approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO), and administered at a Yellow fever-approved vaccination
centres at least 10 days before departure to South Africa. The vaccine offers protection 10 days after administration. If vaccination is administered less than 10 days before departure, the above-mentioned measures will be applied.

1.2 Disinfection of aircraft, ships, tyre casing consignments and other modes of transportation coming from yellow fever risk countries. List of countries for which a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required forentry into South Africa.

probably they paid for the sins of others. If you must know, some passengers were not allowed to board last night because of this yellow card issue.
So you now agree with me the SA health dept demand was discriminatory. And a good thing if passengers were not allowed to board unless the "Valid and Authentic" yellow certi is obtained. But i do want to believe if it were to be other nationals of "developed countries",they might have simply asked them nicely to pay $50 for the vaccination at their point of entry and be given a certificate.Rather than allowing them to burn their cash and fly over 6 hours, only to get to SA border and be DETAINED,subjected to humiliation in the presence of other nationals and then sent back (deported). no be their return ticket dem dey use sef?

@collinsfbi
The issue at hand is not those seeking assylum, but the wanton and discriminatory health requirement which changed suddenly without a proper broadcast. At least the South african healt department could have issued this to their High commission in Nigeria regarding WHAT type of Yellow fever vacinnation is PERMISSIBLE.No record here that shows or prove that.
-One of the passengers, Olaminde Olaofe, told NAN that they obtained their cards from government authorised health agencies in Nigeria and added: ``This is very embarrassing and dehumanising. ``It is an embarrassment not to us as passengers alone but to the Federal Government of Nigeria that another country will say the document we, as Nigerians, obtained in our country is fake. ``We had arrived here about 5.30 a.m. and until now we are still kept at the airport by the immigration officer under the claim that our yellow fever cards are not recognised. ``Some of us are not first time travellers to South Africa and we had used the same yellow card before to enter the country. ``I obtained my card from Eti-Osa Local Government along with my brother. While I am allowed entry, my brother is held by the immigration people.’’

And another ``The South Africa Immigration and Port Health are saying that they don’t recognise the yellow cards and that signature on the cards are irregular. `
And to buttress my point on why there was no proper notice issued in advance -``Many of our Nigerian passengers have been detained and refused entry into the country in the recent month. ``The Port Health authorities cite as being incorrect or unrecognised batch number on the documentation which is mandatory proof before entrance to the country.’’
And yet another -``Arik have reached the conclusion that the irregular and obfuscating nature of this protocol

If this was not meant to be a A STYLISH CONTROL MEASURE IN PREVENTING NIGERIANS and some other west African countries nationals from entering their country, then why not simply UPTIGHT your visa requirements and use that as a control measure?.But no,they would rather not loose all the visa application fees and Repartration deposits,in some cases, which they hardly return on time as promised.

Personally,i think while the "issue is been resolved between the two commissions" The health and Immigration dept at MMA too should mete out same measure with south african nationals coming in for whatever reason,by demanding their HIV HEALTH STATUS before been allowed in.
Whats good for the goose is also good for the gander.
South African government too have business investments in Nigeria.

poster coupled with the advice below, you should keep records of all his calls to you if i were you i would also record everything he says you should also have your test scores and all the papers you have written on hand. Now after you have collected enough evidence you never accept his calls and if you do make sure you record the conversation. Also dont give him anymore money. When the time comes if he makes the mistake to fail you, just take all your evidence to the news media, the school administration even the police station and bring that bastard down. call the different news outlets in lagos and tell them you have been collecting evidence for months and show them texts messages etc that would bring him to his knees and it would never happen in that school again
My guy,you do well.some men don't have respect for married women at all.now I wouldn't want to go into asking the lady series of questions as to,how close u were to d lecturer, how do u dress to campus and all that.
Listen to me as I've SEEN this been done before.shey d lecturer insists he must have sex with you,a married woman.let your oga (husband) knowz.in fact add jara (exagerrate small)how the man have been disturbing you, even publicly.
Then sell this idea to him.get d police informed, they will give u probably a female police officer to act as a friend, visit d man in his office and try to get him make statements in her presence (d female cop)coroborating his intentions.thereafter, get a small hotel booked somewhere (all with your oga consent o),arrange with the cops and some couple of area boys,N3000 will do and prep for him.either the lecturer will ask you to take him to d hotel urself that's in case he's trying to be careful.once inside the room, grab him and begin to scream HELP!!!RITUALISTS.tear your top and even scratch your face.all na evidence of ASSAULT against him.
Or if the lecturer insists he wants to bang u in his office,no wahala, discuss with ur oga,get some couple of female friends or relatives amd tell them of a plan to catch a randy lecturer.trust me they will cooperate with you.make sure whatever date he wanted to carry out his show,it MUst be at a time ur female soldiers would be around.go to office, let him start d romance.once his pant is down, grab his pehnissss hard and twist, don't let go. Yank and pull but don't let go.scream on top of ur voice so that d door could be broken by your soldiers.make sure they take pictures of you both, especially when you are crying with his johnny still in your hands.of course he will try to fight you and even dash some blows.all na added evidence against him.just don't let go off his johnny.
Copies of the photo print out with your story would be sent to the office of the lagos state deputy governor, mrs adebimpe. she will handle your case thoroughly.
Trust me.the lecturer will settle u all the money with interest, that he has collected from you, plus ensure your project passes without delay or failure.
Finish.
