For every football player, a certain percentage of the salary is deducted by the country as tax. It varies with each country, I think it's highest in Britain with close to 45 to 50 percent of the player's salary deducted as tax, in Spain I think it's around 35 percent. So, at the end of the day, the player does not go home with all the money stated as the salary, the country must take a percentage.
