He should expect the mother of all protests in the coming weeks when students would hit the streets to demand an end to the ongoing ASUU strike. #EndASUUstrike |
paulolee:The problem here is that we have small naive boys as student leaders today. When children that should still be writing JAMB and WAEC are pushed to the universities and made student leaders, you don't expect them to know what to do. |
Following |
samuelpeters:Many final year students are midway into their projects before the strike began and I'm sure they are ready to resume this year. |
It is high time the various student unions in the country lived up to their responsibilities. ASUU and Federal government have taken Nigerian students for granted for far too long! Enough is enough! Do we still have student leaders in this country?! This is the 8th month students have been languishing at home while the government and ASUU have failed to resolve their issues. Let's all arise and shut down the country since it is obvious the authorities are unconcerned about our plights. This is the time to evoke the spirit of ALUTA!!! |
There's need for the different student unions in the universities to begin mobilization of students for demonstrations. It is clear that both ASUU and FG are taking us for fools. In the impending students demonstration, ASUU members should not be spared but made to pay for all the troubles they have caused Nigerian students. |
This is the way to go if Nigeria must remain as one indivisible entity. There must be decentralization of power. The current federal system of government is never going to work! Nigeria is headed for a serious crisis if urgent steps are not taken to restructure the country! The EndSARS protest is just a tip of what is coming up if we don't do the right thing as soon as possible |
That's a governor that thinks! Meanwhile, ASUU lecturers may become the next targets of EndSARS protest if they fail to put on their thinking caps and do the needful at this moment. |
jmaine:Y'all know the crop of people you have in government today. And the most annoying thing is that ASUU members were instrumental to enthroning this Buhari government as though they had amnesia at the time they were voting and rigging this present government into office. Now they expect a Buhari government to do that which many of us know is impossible! This is the seventh month students have been at home, many have even dropped out already while the ones yet to move on are going through a lot of mental tortures at home, and yet you think the purpose for which ASUU claims to fight is not being defeated already If ASUU is a responsible union as it claims, this is the time to show responsibility by suspending the strike considering the impact of COVID19 and the state of the country at the moment. Insisting on getting everything now is akin to going to extremity and that does not speak well of the union. And about #EndSARs protest, though I have my reservation about the wordings of the tag, I still understand the plight of the Nigerian youths even better than you who is clearly concerned about how you can capitalize on the protest to get more money for yourself through ASUU strike. |
Plut01:Strike was an instrument used during the military. This is democracy! ASUU should accept what they have been offered for now, call off the strike, go back and use their heads to get whatever they want. That is what WISDOM demands of them now. |
Kobojunkie:Follow your good conscience always |
Kobojunkie:All I tell you now is follow your conscience ALWAYS and you'll be fine with God. Don't ask me another question because I will not reply. |
Let me also add to this thread that both HEAVEN and HELL are REAL. Souls are rewarded according to their measures of good vs bad(evil). |
I shared what I found out about existence in a thread here, but I had to delete it because that information can mess up an unguided mind. Since I found out about that information, everything about life and existence started making sense. I started linking different thoughts together and they were making sense. This led to a point where I almost ran mad! So, please whoever that is reading this should pay attention to this: Never delve too much into thinking about life, existence/Divine morality/God or any other name you use to describe your craving for morality(existence) UNLESS you have someone who knows to guide you. Always create a BALANCE between your good and your bad if you want existence to persist, regardless of your religious believes. If you create this BALANCE, existence will continue and your GOD will be happy! Excess philosophical thinking is not good for your mind! Just do GOOD by creating the BALANCE I referred to above. I shared this because, I care. I will not entertain questions again or even pm(not working though) on this to preserve my mind. Just create a BALANCE (GOD) in all you're doing. Thanks for reading |

If this is true, it's a good one. Kudos to Buhari on this one. Similar adjustment should be made for the lecturers' salaries, but I believe lecturers should change this their striking approach. Lecturers have more influence politically but I don't know why they have not been able to fully utilize what they have. |
I think this is fair enough |
AbomiWORLD |
malikombi:You know Nigerian lecturers don't even care about quality of our education sector. Your last statement summed it all up. It's always about your salaries and nothing more. So, why try to deceive us Even going through your profile, all I kept seeing was "when is government going to pay January salary ?", "FG workers, have you received june salary?"...So so salary, allowance, nothing more! No quality research outputs, no quality teaching. Don't worry, continue the strike you hear? You no go see shi shi as salary this time around as long as you remain on strike, and students that used to carry the matter on their head before have decided not to bother about the strike again. If the matter drags for too long, many students would request for their transcripts and transfer to private universities or some functional state universities. Many would even drop out and leave the universities for lecturers to do whatever they want with. |
malikombi:If it is not about IPPIS, then enrol in the damn IPPIS, call off your strike and stop 'fighting for students'. Students would make do with what comes out of TETFUND in terms of facilities. If you really care about students, you would consider the trauma they have gone through due to COVID19 and haven languished at home for close to seven months. You 'll also consider the precarious nature of the Nigerian job markets and the fact that many students would no longer qualify for many jobs by the time they leave school due to your strikes that made them spend longer years than necessary in school. But we all know that you don't care about the plights of students, so stop playing on our intelligence by claiming you're on strike because of students. |
privaldo:Just follow them bomber to bomber. You may eventually need to grease some palms in order to make things faster. That's the unfortunate truth. |
zigirl56:How can the government focus on improving education without meddling into the affairs of the universities Maybe you want government to just be sending money to the universities without checking the excesses of the university managers Does that sound reasonable to you![]() |
I think the non-academic staff went on 2weeks warning strike. So, you guys should just wait a little for them to call off the warning strike. Immediately they call off, you can hastily go and get your transcript before they decide to go on indefinite strike. I think many of us may eventually seek our transcripts to go and finish up in private universities since this ASUU strike may not end anytime soon. |
Those lecturers who have registered on IPPIS should continue to receive salaries only on the ground that they resume lectures! If they refuse to resume, then government should stop paying salaries to all the lecturers and allow them to strike. When government is ready to put a final stop to all the ASUU rubbish, they either sack all of them and employ new hands or outsource lecturing jobs to private firms who'll better manage the lecturers. We students no longer care! |
Marriage is good but everybody must not get married... Those who want to marry should hasten up and get married, so that those of us who are not sure if we want to marry can know our number. Meanwhile, don't try to drag or shame everybody into marriage for flimsy reasons |
Death rate has consistently remained zero That's a good one |
TonyeBarcanista:Why should the guy hide his face in shame Must a guy stoop low for a lady all the time Something that ladies can never do for guys they consider lower, yet expect same from guys? The guy did noble jare! |
I think there should be serious punishment for all these people constituting nuisance to the different professions. From fake doctors, fake pharmacists, fake lawyers, fake engineers etc, they should be made to serve longer jail terms. Anybody that wants to practice any profession should go through the legally prescribed trainings and processes. There should be no shortcuts, otherwise everybody would rather follow the shortcuts instead of suffering to go through the trainings. |
I think this is what girls of our generation want! Kudos to them |
And the teachers didn't go on strike to achieve this feat o, unlike the overrated teachers in ASUU that believe they must suffer students by going on incessant strikes before they can get the government do things for them. Kudos to Buhari on this one!!! |
Though I'm an Igboman from southeast, but I'll choose Jonathan over the current crop of politicians from southeast justling to be president. Likewise, I'll choose Osinbajo over Tinubu if I'm to choose between the two. However, the idea of having Jonathan again is great one and any party that fields him as their presidential candidate will have my vote and support. It pays to be a gentleman |
The woman was wrong to have killed those innocent children, but then again, Hausa and Muslim men generally should learn to respect their wives! For crying out loud, women also have feelings and can also feel jealous just by mere thought of their husbands with other women. How many of these men can stomach the thought of their wives having affairs with other men ![]() |
