4-2-4 na 4-4-2. That one go get as e go be AndSunGorilla: I think KC will still start. I see us doing the unpopular 4-2-4 again. Don't be surprised if Chuks or Luku starts ahead of Dennis. Denis can be a fish entrepreneur sometimes. |

As long as he get the confidence to start againt Ghana in their backyard. He is a young lad. May stand the heat. He is capable but we still need some caution I think. drDoom3: Bassey for Omeruo. |

I think the problem with Eguavoen is he focuses too much on our strength as a team and doesn't seem to also plan to neutralize the oppositions strengths. We should have gambled on proven midfielders in their respective leagues to back up the ones we already trust. Etebo and Amoo right now, is a no no Joezinho: Eguavoen is a very unserious coach. Imagine taking 10 attackers and putting Calamity onazi on standby..
It's obvious Eguaveon is stuck on playing 442. God help us, he hasn't learned a thing from our AFCON debacle.
I am on record for disapproving the appointment of Eguavoen. Never like him as a player either.. |

Familiar partnership at club level. If Bassey can stand the heat right away, why not? However Balogun plays mostly LCB for club and country. Moving him right should not be a problem though. drDoom3: Bassey for Omeruo. |

That's the point. We will have to rely on on Osimhen to fall back and do gra gra with them, when he should be fully focused on scoring. Abeg make we no killl Osimhen before he turns 30 lol drDoom3: Games are won in the midfield.
If you like have Ronaldo upfront, if your midfield is poor you will suffer. Ask Man U.
Our starting midfield trio of Ndidi + Onyeka + Aribo is good enough, but if any of them gets injured we are royally bleeped. Maybe Nacho can deputize Aribo at AM or we can switch to a 4-4-2 which we saw at AFCON, but the reality is we didn’t invite midfielders, even backups. |

Rorh would have done the same, except that we would see Akpoguma in the list, but not Onazi. Amoo won't be there. No much difference. Last last na how we play go determine am. Icon79: Thank you, my dear. That’s one thing that bothers me about our indigenous coaches - these kinda head scratching invitations and team selections.

is Similar to Rohr's list which is good enough. I always gave Rohr's list high ratings Oasis001:

Most of you clamored for Amoo, he made the List. We wish for Simon and Lookman on both Wings, we have it. We hope for a Combo of Dennis and Osimhen in Attack, we have it.
We want a real Steel in midfield that brings something different to Ndidi, we have it. We want Collins out of the Squad for Bassey, we have it. We want a Return of Balogun to the Squad, we have it.
We want Ejuke, Nwakali replaced because we are not satisfied with them, we have it.
We can't have all, and apparently we can't be 100% pleased. Good List by the way..... 95% a good List. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:40pm On Mar 04, 2022 |
I wouldn't play someone just coming for a long injury lay off. I would rather integrate Amoo into this team gradually, not in bitter rivalry matches of this magnitude. We are coming against a team whose strengths lie in the midfield. We need capable back ups for the midfield BATTLE. it would be WAR in the midfield. Oasis001:

Well, everyone will not get to play. Let's hope those they pick to play deliver. The war is going to be in the midfield. I hope our attackers will be at their best. |

Thank you. Etebo has no business in this list. We all can't agree on all the names. But we want the best performing players always. Ighalo is still performing. You can't make argument for Musa being a captain when you have Nwakaeme clearly better in the same league, although I don't fancy the latter. Icon79: First of all, let me say that I am not actually surprised to see this list. Rohr is gone, so we’re going to to applying the ‘Nigerian factor’ in sending out player invite.
Can anyone tell me how did onazi make the standby list? I am a big fan of Etebo but how did he make the list when he hasn’t played in more than 6 months? Why do we keep wasting slots on the likes of Musa and Ighalo when we have young and hungry strikers like Awoniyi, Onuachu, Ejuke, Onyekuru, etc.
And by the way, are we punishing Alex Iwobi for picking up a red card? And at the same time, it seems we’re rewarding Emmanuel Dennis for snubbing the team when we needed him most!
Nigeria, we hail thee!

We have Blackpool captain. Our opponents are more aggressive in trying to boost their squad and it seems we are just playing safe with familiar names. Look at our midfield also. Why are we still reluctant in calling up Alhassan Yusuf and Obinna Nwobodo? TheLoneCitizen: I don't really have a problem with Shehu, because Ebuehi, the only competition has not proven to be consistent at club level.
If there is a quota that calls for an ethnic balance in the Super Eagles, it makes sense that that position is used to fill it. |

Seeing Shehu in the list, my conclusion is Coach no be the problem again o. Na administration. Onazi in standby is just another proof. Nigeria is finished. Russia come and help us lol Modified Na case of corruption. Even Lookman go don give egunje at last. Komekn come chop . TheLoneCitizen: So the board went to Turkey, ignored the league's best DM in Obinna Nwobodo and went for Onazi who has made just 4 league starts all season in League 2. |
