Let's cut Eguavoen some slacks that he named his team based on how the players performed in GWG lately. With Nwakali as an exception, welcome again Shehu Abdullahi! And Ndah was exceptional against Mexico. Eguavoen does not watch club football. |

All this Eguavoen praises already. We never even play one match sef lol Philosopher1979: EGUAVON SHOULD TAKE US TO THE WORLD CUP
I read part of Eguavons interview and i realized he knows what he is doing. His actions even indicate this fact.
1. Immediately he wants to correct the problem of our lack of creativity in midfield by inviting nwakali, alhassan yusuf etc. 2. In his interview, he understands his players and their strengths and weaknesses. 3. It seems he plans to use Chidera Ejuke and Samuel Chukwueze behind a striker 4. He seems to understand the Nigerian philosophy and style of play with wingers, good passers in midfield etc 5. By the end of this afcon the problem of lack of creativity in midfield will be gone thanks to Eguavon. No team will dominate us in midfield again 6. He knows the players inside out and how to use them. He even said iheanacho is positionally confused which is a very intelligent statement 7. I have said it we just need a coach that understands us, our mentality and how to use us. 8. He has the westerhoof model which is the only model that seems to work 9. You see, foreign coaches flatter to deceive. They look so attractive but are like wind without rain. What happens on the field of play is all that matters not someone playing in Real Madrid. 10. We may hate it but our most creative players are not in the top 5 leagues and eguavon understands that. He does not mind and wants to use them. 11. In football, even if lewandoski, cavani, ronaldo and Ibrahimovic are in your attack, without creative midfeidlers and wingers, your attack will be limited. This is what Eguavon understands and Rohr does not. 12. As per the guy from the Isreali league, he may turn out to be another sunday Mba. Not all players in obscure leagues are bad. It is just by percentage. 15% of players in obscure leagues are good while 85% of players in the top 10 leagues are good. It is just finding the 15% in obscure leagues that are good that is the problem and the Isreali league guy may fall into the 15%. 14. Eguavon may not seem attractive but he will deliver at the end of the day. 15. Someone mentioned the fact that the USA 94 team did not play for the top teams of Europe but it made me smile. African born players dont get the recognition players born in Europe get early in their career. they may have to wait till after they are 25 to get into teams like barcelona, chelsea etc. But that does not make them bad. Talent is talent everywhere and a boy in Mushin can be more talented that a player in west Ham. |

Bringing Christianity into it the promise is not that when you do what is right it will always result well for you in this life. Christians will face persecution and there will be varying outcomes from their righteousness. The koko na the life after. Many Christians these days are taught to believe following God comes with instant gratification. It does not always work like that. SOMETIMES you go suffer for this life because you want to do what is right. That is where FAITH comes in. But to side with oga Napoleon small, if you get Christian conscience and you engage in such, e go affect your performance, because as your mind dey judge you no go fit work with clear mind. But for those when no get conscience nothing dey happen. Wicked man sef dey chop well for this life. But everything as dey say get e time. Modified. But there is nothing God cannot do to bring people close to him. Sometimes a wicked man will face adversity and somehow someday he will find his way to God. It's all according to His plan. No wonder the Bible says God is giving the wicked more days so they will eventually change. God is Love. komekn: Sorry dude your talking balderdash.
You know how many top world class players use the services of Olosho as well as have side chicks.
Neymar, Balotelli, Ronaldo, Rooney, Benzema, Raheem, Kyle, etc, etc the list is absolutely endless.
Many are a lot more discreet about it. |

You have a point, as long as the coach has his playing philosophy and can identify players that would perfectly suit it. But, there is a BIG but. in World football, you come against different teams with varying strengths. If you don't know how to use your best performing players and cannot be dynamic with approaches and formations you can't go far. Philosopher1979: What makes you to think Anayo iwuala is not good enough. Because he does not play in Europe Football does not allways work like that. He might even turn out to be one of our best players and get us vital goals and assists. Football is about opportunities and advertisment. Some players are good but not well advertised. He might be better than some European based players. Westerhoof prefered Amunike when he was in Zamalek to Tijani Babangida. Also, time changes things. He might move to Europe in a few years and do big things. I have watched him play and he seems a very creative players. Football is not straightforward like that. In fact, that was Rohrs mistake. He thinks club form is everything and it does not allways work. The issue of club form does not work for Moses Simon and paul Onuachu. In fact, i think Anthony Nwakaeme can be a better player for Nigeria than Moses Simon and other wingers in better leagues. Football is not as straight forward as this |

Let's start with "the List" if it has not been submitted yet. Truidstar: Oga Joebie..give this guy a chance and lets see what they come up with. This current crop of players we have..any coach worth his salt will perform wonders. Relax..watch and see. |

Your wish has come true..yet still moaning and complaining. We should support the team no matter who is in charge and hope for the best. |

Coming third in the Nations cup for Nigeria is nothing. Eguavoen, with the pedigree of his assistants, is suspect. He should be our defensive coach assistant. if there is any such thing. Truidstar: Go back and watch his team at the 2006 nations cup. The team was compact defensively...could hold their own in the midfield..we lacked wingers and strikers (we have an embarassment of both currently). He still came third despite the teams limitations. He will come good.
Dessers should make the cut. He is part of the 40 man team submitted by Rohr....except Aigbogun wants to smuggle in some his sambisa eleven in the squad. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:42am On Dec 13, 2021 |
it's a case of too many cooks. I don't know if he would be conducting coaching clinics in the team or giving technical assistance. If he would be doing the latter when has he ever succeeded in that capacity? Just give me one match. Degrees and qualifications is not enough. Ask Aigbogun. Philosopher1979: The appointment of Dr. Terry Eguaoje is fantastic in the Super Eagles coaching crew is fantastic he has conducted over 700 coaching courses in the last seven years and NFF wants to bring him as consultant coach Dr Eguaoje has conducted several FIFA, UEFA and CAF sanctioned coaching courses in US, Africa and other part of the world. He was born in Nigeria and is a seasoned coach with UEFA A licence coaching. He is the founder of the Football Coaches Association of African Nations (FCAAN. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS TO HAppen to our football. He has all that technical knowledge of an European but he is a true Nigerian. He has been doing several coaching clinics in Nigeria. |

hahaha.. conservatism improved. a slightly better Rohr? MAYBE. How about our midfield and attack, and the team gelling? Modified. And we may not have Dessers Truidstar: Eguavoen is a sound coach. We are going to be better defensively. Expect immediate changes in that backline. The likes shehu abdullahi are gone. Musa will remain for purely sentimental reasons. A member if the 28. But rarely play. |
