you can because none of the games were official. Did we expect Eze to turn down England's U21 call up? We never called him up for an official game. That's the crux of the matter. If Aribo was invited by England, would he have turned it down?

Etebo wasn't the most gifted but was a mainstay in stokes team last season and one of their best at that. Eze was on and off and was mainly a bench player during the tail end of last season

This is Oghenekaro Etebo's stats in the same 18/19 season. If you consider this SE player consistent in the championship, then why are u speaking another language about Eze?

when that initial story was reported here, I had my own take on that.. now the second story is quite conflicting. it begs the question, why are we even asking his permission. if we have invited him in the past and he honored it, they we may as well invite him again and see if he would. it solves the entire drama.

below are snapshots of Eze's previous two seasons in the championship. Now let's check the facts. When was Mikel out of SE?
Was Eze not a consistent performer the season before now? Who was deputizing Iwobi in SE at the time? Or would have been the best AM to deputize Iwobi at the time? Rohr was not interested in getting another consistent performing AM even in Mikel's absense. It was not a matter of rushing Eze into the team, but providing a cover in the absense of Mikel.. The thing would have been sealed without criticisms from many long. Now we dey go approach person for permission when don already honor our call in the past. Na so Balogun etc case be that time?
Most of us won't have criticized Rohr if he had called up Eze then. The fact remains that a handful of us here have been clamoring for Eze. And i'm not speeking of the period he auditioned.. make una no dey find something talk when the facts are there.

When you make an official invite to a player and the player turns it down, it takes off the responsibility from you. It now rests on the player to make his own move in future. I'm saying this especially as regards to players who have already shown us clear signs that they want to play for us.

I believe there is alot of pressure by the English FA on the kid currently and his minders will advise him to go with the best option for now which will likely earn him a move to the epl in January or next summer transfer.

He needs to think about his future thoroughly before deciding and it's a good thing he is yet to shut the door on us.

It seem the English FA have an aggressive means of wooing this kids of late and this is in conjunction with their clubs management. It hurts and disappointing he pleaded for more time but alot have to be into consideration regarding his case.

He is a breakout star in the championship in the ongoing season with alot of epl clubs interested so I think his utmost desire now is doing anything that will aid him make the leap to the epl latest next summer.

According to rohr who disclosed that the kid needs time to decide, also said him n the nff won't throw in the towel yet and will continue to talk to him. Literally this implies their is still hope in getting him

Osasu is a well known journalist but you are not taking the journalists word seriously from this your write up.

there are two reports. You choose what you want to believe.. but my take is this if we are interested in a player who has honored our call once, u don't go about making indirect or direct approaches or asking for permission. you hand him another invite. This time an official one. shekina and the matter will settle whether he is for us or not.. if he no show, he no make statement and he is not injured then the huge writing is on the wall...

I'm not making excuses. I have said clearly that if we had invited him and he turned it down, then we can move on. Are there any credible sources we can rely on that says we have made direct approach on him?
how can you say somebody turned you down when that source have not been substantiated? I'm making a point that when there is no facts on ground you don't just run with assumptions. how is that hard for people to swallow?

you are as good as the average of your performance all season long. Messi has had bad games.. we cannot write him off because of a couple of games. He still remains one of the highest (if not the highest) rated PLAYERS in the championship so far.
We should have invited the lad when it was so so obvious we needed a deputy to Iwobi when Mikel was away. That said, what's wrong with naming the player for the qualifiers. if we do that and he rejects the call then I will support our moving on. I don't see why we are making INDIRECT approaches on a player who has shown he is ours in the past. it's nonsensical to me.
