We can draw similar conclusions from the other results as well.

One question but you will never be able to answer it.

Show me where l hyped Solanke, that's all please❓ Or it means you lack integrity, unless you have created your own personal definition of Hype.

So do you think it's unfair to expect Villareal in the mighty La Liga to beat Rangers over the two legs. particularly a Rangers that was down to 10 men.

How do you watch footballhuhhuh

I was and still am dissapointed in the performance of Villareal. I expected much more.

Maybe La Liga is loosing it's superiority in European football❓

Nigeria’s youth national team coach, Paul Aigbogun has been forced to put aside some former Golden Eaglets players being considered for his squad to next month’s West African Football Union (WAFU) U-20 Cup of Nations, because the organisers termed them ‘under-aged.’

Thank God reasonable people like you are beginning to understand what I am saying.

Nigeria football have been stagnant, and that's primarily because our league have simply refused to improve.

In Africa, most countries are beginning to catch up with us in female football, but we, what have we done to catch up with our perennial superiors from other continents of the world?

Nothing...

Rather in 2018 we are still getting ass whipped 8-0 by France

During USA 1999 world Cup, we won our first match 2-1, got walloped 7-1 by USA second game but we somehow managed to qualify for the quarter final where we lost to Brazil in a pulsating 4-3 showdown

One would have thought that we would have grown from that tournament to become world beaters going forward.

But what we saw in Sydney 2000 was an eyesore, we lost all our group matches 3-1, 3-1, 3-1

Since then we have been on a downward spiral

If you recall I had made my assessment about Sadiq Umar and aspects of his game that were very weak.

His physicality is very poor for such a big guy and he has no balance I even suggested that he might have a problem with his feet.

These are things that will not be noticed in the less physically intense leagues.

He is being eclipsed badly by the Nigerian origin 17 year old teenager Dapo Mebude.

The scottish move has not been a good one for Umar. He has not been given many opportunities. The endorsement of Umar was based on his performances in the eredivise last season. On that form, he was very good. And Ighalo was offering nothing until the last 2 games.

Chukwueze being nominated depends on the category.

Mikel Not Certain To Make My Squad For AFCON 2019 – Rohr Reveals, Plans To Try 50 Players Before Cup Of Nations
November 28, 2018

Captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria John Obi Mikel could miss the Africa Cup of Nations unless he meets some certain conditions, coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr has revealed.

Football Predictions. Online And Free
Mikel is yet to play for the Super Eagles since their exit at the group stages of the World Cup in Russia but yesterday he confirmed he is still willing to continue his role as captain of Nigeria, clearly shutting down any talks of retirement from international football.

Rohr however thinks otherwise insisting that he has to be at his best physical shape to make his team to the Cup of Nations because that is his first criteria for calling players to the national team and the captain is no exception to the rule.

“I respect Mikel, he has done a lot for the national team. He is always in the team’s plan but he has to be playing regularly like other players that would eventually be invited and must be fit,” Rohr said in Lagos.

Speaking further on how he intends to prepare his team for the AFCON in Cameroon next year, the coach said he plan to run the rule on over 50 players starting from the dead rubber AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie against Seychelles in Uyo.

“I am happy with the performances of the new Eagles. They are fighting and giving us more open options. We are looking at about 50 players to assemble ahead of AFCON. The last Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, will also be another test ahead of the tournament.

“However, there will be more test across Europe and China, myself, Alloy Agu, Yusuf Salisu will combine all the leagues there as well to get the best legs in our preparatory plan without also exempting Nigerian Professional Football League players.”

“We Cannot Force Solanke And Lookman” — Rohr
Bryan Efe

https://spotkik.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/GernotRoar.jpg

Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr has admitted approaches to Liverpool U23 star, Dominic Solanke, and Everton winger, Ademola Lookman for a possible switch of allegiance from England to Nigeria. Both players have represented England in the junior level but are still eligible to play for Nigeria through their parentage.
Speaking to Sports Editors, the coach said the players were not convinced about their future with Nigeria, as they remain dedicated with making progress in the England set up. The Franco-German coach said:

“Lookman and Solanke are not convinced. They have not made up their minds so we will allow them to decide.

“We will go back to them later, but we cannot force anybody to play for us. It is very important decisions for them to make.”

Nigeria has succeeded in the past in luring players who have initially played in the young England set up. Some of them include: Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, and Semi Ajayi. These players have all earned caps with Nigeria, and there is a waiting list of players as well who have declared to represent Nigeria instead of their country of birth, England.

Apparently you were not getting me. To avoid this kind of confusion is the reason why I suggest some modification of the way the category is worded. I’m not against Eze. I suggest we rename it Best Player as a Home Based player

Modified
And I would even modify my nominations. No be fight.

forgiveness:
Did he play the CHAN as a home based player or foreign player?
SportsRe: NNFF Awards, Committee. by Joebie: 8:30am On Nov 28, 2018
Thank u sir
Icon4s:
If it is the Eze's case the award is for home based players. You cannot give a player who now plays in Europe a "Home based player award". That is the point here.

Talking about Club not deciding a player's fate we are taking about not nominating players based on club performances. It seems you need to go back and read those rules again.
SportsRe: NNFF Awards, Committee. by Joebie: 8:28am On Nov 28, 2018
Las las no be public go still vote?
forgiveness:
Eze qualifies to be nominated because he played for Chan this year. Good luck to your Lokosa pick anyway.
SportsRe: NNFF Awards, Committee. by Joebie: 8:01pm On Nov 27, 2018
I’m just now seeing this. Ok good
Icon4s:
Setting Criteria for players Selection.

We do not have the complete Data base of the statistics of the individual players, so we don't need to make the criteria too scientific. These are going to be simple and justifiable criteria.

I will suggest below:
1. All award categories should be for players who have featured for any of the national teams (IE, Super Eagles, CHAN Eagles, Flying Eagles, Golden Eaglets, Super Falcons, Falconets and Flamingos)
2. Rating of players should be based on national team performances only.
3. Young Player of the Year is strictly for players 21years and below.
4. For The Best Attacker award I suggest points should be generated as thus: Goal-2 points, assist-1 point.
5. Selection of 3 players for the other sections of the team( ie Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder) can be subjective but also objective.

We can add more or remove any from the list above

Lokosa qualifies to be nominated that’s the point. You are not to question my pick. I don’t have to convincce you y I picked him. That’s not the purpose of this thread.

As regards Eze he’s probably been a foreign based player for most part of the year 2018 (I may be wrong here) I’m not against his pick really. I’m just saying the way the category is worded is quite misleading.

forgiveness:
With just 1 game? I see. grin
SportsRe: NNFF Awards, Committee. by Joebie: 2:27pm On Nov 27, 2018
Forgiveness you cannot nominate players on the back of their performances before 2018. this is a 2018 award. WCQ performances should not be considered. Even the Argentina friendly was in 2017. I’m not questioning ur picks, I’m only questioning the reason u gave.
SportsRe: NNFF Awards, Committee. by Joebie: 1:51pm On Nov 27, 2018
Lokosa played as a Super Eagle in a friendly. That alone qualifies him. We are here to make our nominations, you can only question players who do not meet the criteria.

forgiveness:
1. Nigerian Player of the Year:
Ahmed Musa, Victor Moses

2. SE Home based player of the year:
Eze, Dayo Ojo(MVP - Chan). Going by the criteria, lokosa is not qualify to be nominated. Aside the criterion is he the most qualified.

3. Most impactful New Inclusion (2018):
Bryan Idowu (WC ) Uzoho(WC)

4. Best Goalkeeper (Best Ogedengbe Award):
Uzoho, Ajiboye(Chan),

5. Best Defender (Stephen Keshi Award):
Balogun, Troost-Ekong, Omeruo (WC performance mainly)

6. Best Midfielder (Oliha/Okwaraji Award):
Wilfred Ndidi, Mikel Obi

7. Best Attacker (Rashidi Yekini Award):
Victor Moses (Wcq & WC), Simon Moses(WCQ), Ahmed Musa(WC & AFCON qualities), Ighalo (WCQ & AFCON q)

8. Most improved player (2018)
Ahmed Musa, Troost

9. Young Player of the Year
Wilfred Ndidi

10. Super Falcons player of the year:
I no know but Oshola seems to be the reigning African best player.

11. Super Eagles Goal of the Year.
Ahmed Musa (1st Goal Iceland)
Idiom Ighalo (1st Goal Cameroon)
SportsRe: NNFF Awards, Committee. by Joebie: 10:30am On Nov 27, 2018
The award will only be open to those who are still homebased. If this were a serious award, Eze or his reps will not be coming to collect the award. It would seem out of place. So let’s name the category appropriately, or disqualify those who are now foreign based all together.

Icon4s:
Vital point. That is the challenge with these home based players.

I rated Eze based on his CHAN outing.

But what if Lokosa, Ezenwa and any other player that was earlier home based have also moved to Europe now? Guess the committee will also iron this out.

Modified: I have replaced Execution with Ukouwem.

Brentford full-back Moses Odubajo to switch allegiance from England to Nigeria

It means the 25-year-old could be starring in the African Nations Cup in March next year
By Mike McGrath
Updated: 26th November 2018, 10:10 am

BRENTFORD full-back Moses Odubajo has been approached for a Nigeria call-up.
The 25-year-old, who played for England’s youth teams under Aidy Boothroyd, is set to switch countries to play in the African Nations Cup.

Moses Odubajo has battled back from serious injury to start for Brentford in the Championship.

Odubajo has battled back from two years of injury hell with a dislocated knee to rejoin Brentford this season and get regular games in the Championship.

And he will get rewarded with an international call-up after getting on the radar of Nigeria boss Gerard Rohr.

Odubajo will be included in the squad for next year’s qualifier against Seychelles, with the finals now held at the end of the season in Cameroon.

Earlier this season Odubajo admitted he considered QUITTING during his two years of injury hell.
Moses Odubajo played for England U20s in 2015 – but has yet to make a senior appearance for the Three Lions

The 25-year-old made five appearances under Aidy Boothroyd's England stewardship - but he is poised to switch and play for Nigeria

The 25-year-old made five appearances under Aidy Boothroyd’s England stewardship – but he is poised to switch and play for Nigeria

Odubajo left Griffin Park three years ago for Hull but his last game for them was the Championship play-off final when he celebrated getting to the Premier League.

But he has made a solid start to Brentford’s Championship campaign.

He has made seven appearances, but is yet to score for the Bees so far.

ChrisKels:
Like I told u guys earlier, Odubajo has come back strongly. I have been following him this season with Brentford, he still has that thing that made him a hit with Hull. I'm glad Rohr has sounded him out, and he would be there in Uyo when we welcome Seychelles

I agree with u, as regards KC
komekn:
The EPL is the fastest, most competitive and physically intense league IMO.

The Bundesliga is not as physical and or intense so it's relatively easier for technically proficient players to excel and stand out.

A number of English players who have not been able to get game time in thier clubs. Have gone to the Bundesliga and ripped it apart.

Ademola Lookman
Reise Nelson
Jaden Sancho
Batshuayi

So the idea the Bundesliga is not good development is simply not true. I have my suspicions that if KC had gone to the Bundesliga he would have progressed more positively.

Jaden Sancho has been quite impressive in the Bundesliga for Dortmund so much so he was called up to the England squad. Surprisingly he is only 18, leaving Manchester city has proved a very wise decision.

How does Iheanacho still get a mention here? It’s too early to say for him as well.

Are we not looking at how it would pan out in subsequent seasons?

The best talent since Mikel is yet to be determined.

AIG07:
It is still early. Based on his age, I'll give it to Iheanacho.

Chukwueze is a gem-ain't gonna argue that. But hasn't done half of what Nacho did in his first professional season at 19too

Don't forget, it only took Nacho 4 minutes to get get his first professional goal for city and less than 20 minutes to double it. He went on to score 14 goals from 16 shots on target that same season, No Nigeria player in recent time has made the kinda rave Nacho made during his first pro - season.

So, on Chukwueze been the biggest talent Nigeria has produced since Mikel, I'll have to wait till May 2019.
