BusinessRe: Is Self-Employment Ultimately Necessary for a Man? by jogego(m): 11:57am On Jul 08, 2005
well said Kazey. Since we are discussing Naija, then a millionaire in Naira is a millionaire pure and simple. In this wise, most bankers, telecomm workers earn upwards of minimum f N1.5m per annum.

That said, we need to accept the fact that not everybody is meant to be an entrepreneur and being one is not really easy. The most important thing as far as am concerned is to have a fulfilling working career. And even if you are an entrepreneur, you still say "sir" to the people who provide your capital. If it's your self provided capital, then you are saying "sir" to your family. Reason being, you need to ensure adequate returns in order to provide a satisfactory and comfortable existence for them.
BusinessRe: Theft at Work; Department is Under My Supervision by jogego(m): 11:52am On Jul 08, 2005
Greatpeter, am just seeing this. Now if I was your boss and I heard this, how would you convince me that they are not giving you a cut out of the proceeds?

Its not worth it for you to loose your own income becos of this pple. There is such a thing called CYA in office environment. It means COVER YOUR ASS. I think the best thing you can do is to let your boss be aware of it. Let him take any decisions. But once u have notified someone above you, the buck has been passed from your table.

Since you warned them b4, they will certainly do it again. If the stuff are being taken from your stockroom, am assuming the stockroom is under your care. If there is a random stock audit, how would you account for the discrepancies?

Hope this makes sense

Since you live on the cutting edge, you might want to give symphony OS a twirl.

ComputersRe: Microsoft Windows Vista (formerly "Longhorn") by jogego(m): 7:28pm On Jul 07, 2005
Personally, I can't imagine running a Windows system. Anyhow, most of the stuff being touted in Longhorn, especially the desktop search, has been implemeted in the new Mac OS. By the time it finally comes out, it won't be cutting edge again.

Angelgal:
Can't stand Eucharia Anunobi....she's damaged her skin with so much bleaching and uses large rings to hide her dark knuckles.

Her make up is frightening....and there are no words enough to describe her awful hairdos!
I dont think you should criticise an artist for his/her makeup. There should be a dedicated makeup person. And in anycase, what is the director looking at? He is supposed to ensure the actors/actresses fit into the role being played.

She is determined and she achieves her determination. Infact I like her love life too. wink She rocks my world. Oprah is my major model.[/quote]if Oprah is ur model, just dont let your weight go up and down like a yo-yo tongue

Phone/Internet MarketRe: Selling Imported Used Handsets in Nigeria by jogego(m): 4:17pm On Jul 07, 2005
Any unlocked phone that can work in the UK will work in NIgeria without any problems. There are myriad outlets for mobile phones in Nigeria. I do know several people take such refurbished phones to Nigeria to sell so yes, there is a market for it.

I remember my days in Form 1 back in the days( Yeah Form 1 not Jss1 or whatever u guys call it now).We used to scale fence and leave school and go to this cinema in Ilasamaja...contact cinema or so. Watched Indian films, Chinese films etc. Even then I found the singing and dancing so soppy.

I cant stand them. Damn unrealistic if u ask me.
TV/MoviesRe: Most Annoying Nigerian Actors/Actresses by jogego(m): 2:46pm On Jul 07, 2005
the Q for me should be, which Nigerian actor/actress does not annoy. Am yet to see true passion and dedication except from just a few...in fact for me, the Yoruba actors/actresses are maybe better cos they dont wear so much fake accents

WebmastersRe: Website Design Critique by jogego(m): 2:31pm On Jul 07, 2005
Following on the above, if you want your site to be readilly accessible to impaired users, then you must look into using CSS for page layouts. The Web Accessibility Initiative has denoted the use of tables in page layout as being deprecated. This has to do with the use of screen readers for visually impaired web users.

There are various resources on the net which will give u information about using your Cascading Style Sheets not just for style, but also for page layout.

The happiest day in my life so far, has to be the moment when my son was handed to me in the labor room. Never felt so happy and full of praise and awe of God's mercies
