RomanceRe: Can A Guy and a Girl Just Be Friends? by jogego(m): 10:52am On Jul 06, 2005
I dont know why you girls always refuse to accept the truth. Its a strategy that has worked countless times. Get close to her, sooner or later, her guards will be down and then hit dat booty.

If as you say its possible to be platonic with a guy, wait till you get married. I bet your husband would never allow you to have male friends.

@ Vieria, I especially like the last part,

But if the girls is ugly but funny then she could have loads of male friends who have no ulterior motive

You be proper crase man, abeg no kill me with laffter. I wonder how many of our ladies will admit to being in theis category

As long as the management or directors speak english what stops you from outsourcing to them? In any case, you are not going to deal directly with factory workers are you?Am sure as a provider of services and products, you want cheap quality imput that will maintain your quality and not cost the world. Rememeber, your customers have a choice, so if its too expensive, they wont buy.
FamilyRe: New Wife, No Womb by jogego(m): 10:32pm On Jul 05, 2005
How come no body is raising this as grounds for an anullment of the marraige? When it was discussed about a man being impotent, you all were shouting annullment. Abeg, out the door she goes. Why didnt she tell me b4 the wedding? Cos she knew I'd run thats why. So she used this to trap me?? If she messed up her youth and her life and cannot have kids, should I suffer the same fate with her? And the guy who impregnated her, why doesnt she go and marry him?

Abeg stuff and nonsense. The only help he needs is for someone to remove the wool from his face. A true christian woulda laid her cards on the table and trusted that if the guy was her God-given husband he'd still marry her.

@hotangel, Firefox is just a browser. It does not delete any virus from your system. The OP obviouslly has a trojan on his system. Simply googling the "about.blank" gives several options of getting it off:

As one of my friends used to say, If I talk too much to a lady, I end up telling her I like her. Getting to close to a member of the opposite sex can lead to anything. Afterall, most deep rships are those that matured from friendships.
Music/RadioRe: Omotola Jalade as a Musician? by jogego(m): 9:28pm On Jul 05, 2005
Who said there is no mediocrity in Nigerian music? How many nigerian musicians really have a good voice? Lets be real and factual. Why apart from poor management does Nigerian music not sell outside Nigeria? Listen to the average song from Congo is it makosi or what do they call the music. It has rhytmn, its enjoyable. Our so called artistes suffer from lack of creativity. That for me is the major problem. Lets call a spade a spade and stop saying in the name of patriotism.....
RomanceRe: If A Lady Woos You by jogego(m): 6:45pm On Jul 05, 2005
thats what you guys are, just a bunch of inexperienced mama's girls. by that I mean abrakson, IAH and all your other cohorts. If you think that when a girl asks me out, it means that she has been reduced in my estimation, then you are plain wrong. Its all a matter of maturity.
FamilyRe: Question for the Ladies (from 'Divorce Court') by jogego(op): 6:22pm On Jul 05, 2005
Emmmm, why was the topic changed? I had the topic of this thread as Ladies, what would you think or do? Now its Q from Divorce court? TOpics are supposed to attract viewing and participation aint it? That is a very drab topic
FamilyQuestion for the Ladies (from 'Divorce Court') by jogego(op): 3:30pm On Jul 05, 2005
Saw an edition of Divorce Court on TV this afternoon and I just wanted to share this scenario.

Ladies, you are at home with your husband then he takes a phone call and about half an hour later, he tells you he needs to get to the grocery store. He goes off and doesn't come back till late @ night. And get this, you open the door and he comes in naked and wrapped in a bed sheet. On questioning, he says that he was robbed of all his possessions including his undies? Pretty desperate robbers if you ask me.

Now the issue is this, do you believe his story, or the more plausible option that maybe he was in bed with a married woman and her husband came home unexpectedly. If you believe this second option, you haven't caught him cheating so what do you do?

Remember, this is a true life incident.
RomanceRe: If A Lady Woos You by jogego(m): 3:13pm On Jul 05, 2005
@ V, you are right. We have grown thick skinned to it, but depends on how you say No. If she knows that if situation was different you'd be all over her, then it'd soften the blow. Nobody loves rejections so turn on the charm and let her down slowly. Always works for me and most a the time we still stay friends
Music/RadioRe: Nigerian Musicians Don't Study Music by jogego(m): 3:06pm On Jul 05, 2005
Did 2Pac study music, did micheal Jackson study music, did freddy Jackson study music, did Luther study music, did Sade study musichuh

The truth is that in Nigeria, knowing someone gets you into the studio to cut a record deal. Mediocrity reigns in Nigeria not talent. If the talent is the and a good management team, then the sky is the limit. When people consider afrojuju to be music, it just goes to show what am talking about. After the record in 1988 or s other afrojuju record has been released?

By device drivers I mean peripherals you use, sound, web cams, scanners, network cards, printers, bluetooth etc. DO they all work?
Nairaland GeneralRe: Decline of Mother Tongue; Causes and Consequences by jogego(m): 2:44pm On Jul 05, 2005
I think am going to disagree with Seun on this. If you look at the asian powers, ther reason they are growing is simple, INFRASTRUCTURES. No NEPA, no petrol shortage, no water shortage, and affordable labor. Nigeria has over 100 million people which is but one of the factors of production. Speaking english does not in anyway influence such decisions.

I live in the UK and I can tell you categorically, a lot of Oyinbo people, cant even spell or speak correct english. For example, the average Londoner would say: "That is your one" meaning that is yours. A primary school pupil in Lagos would never say that. This asians you say, cant speak a sentence in english properly. I work with several of them and communication is always a major problem with them.

Having said that, in a global village, it is definite that this would happen but I dont think it is so drastic that the Yoruba or Igbo or any other major language would die out. And in anycase what would be the way out, goverment legislaton? please the Govt has more their plate
ComputersRe: Microsoft Windows Vista (formerly "Longhorn") by jogego(m): 2:24pm On Jul 05, 2005
first off, will device drivers which work in XP work in longhorn?Knowing how XP SP2 was bungled up, and the fact that windows XP drivers do not work in XP 64bit edition, dont hold your breath. Maybe for testing to see how it looks but to be honest, for everyday desktop use? Me thinks not
RomanceRe: After He/She Has Been Unfaithful by jogego(m): 12:00pm On Jul 05, 2005
It all depends on what kinda rship it is. If am in it for sex, hey, as long as u dont cut my rations, why should I complain. Or if I knew she had a man and am trying to steal her from the man, hey, I cant complain can I.

If on the other hand we are in a tight rship, damn girl, out you go. Its a man's world in some respects. And While I can condone all sorta rubbish in the name of love, abegiiii I cant condone that.
RomanceRe: If A Lady Woos You by jogego(m): 11:51am On Jul 05, 2005
Nothing strange in that. Depends on your level of maturity. had a relationship result from such before. If on the other hand, I cant, then you try as much as possible not to lead her on. Had a lady toast me but I couldnt cos at that point I had someone else and I DONT DOUBLE DATE, we ended up as very good friends and she actually respected my principles. We still are very good friends.

One thing you keep in mind, a woman scorned..........
RomanceRe: Boy Lives Abroad, Girl lives in Nigeria. Should he remain faithful? by jogego(m): 11:47am On Jul 05, 2005
you guys need to be jokers. You expect a guy at this age to be celibate? Abeg that is not even being realistic. We are looking for realistic solutions not ideal solutions.
RomanceRe: Relationship Advice Needed (how do I handle this?) by jogego(m): 11:45am On Jul 05, 2005
@ Kenya, you sound to be an intelligent individual. My sincere belief is that if a man makes you cry tears of sadness, as opposed to tears of joy, then he aint worth your love. Its better you move on now, cut your losses and just thank your stars he has shown his true color.

Second, take the lessons you learn from this and use them in life. Communication in any rship is very important. Years ago, I decided no matter what happened to me in a rship, no matter how crazy the fight, never ever let the sun set on your anger. No point having heartaches and stuff. Sort it b4 it sorts you. If it means me having to say sorry just to have peace, then so be it. Love is all about knowing and understanding each other.Communication plays a huge part. No secrets, no dodging about....no hanky panky
RomanceRe: Romance Without Finance? by jogego(m): 11:45am On Jul 05, 2005
@ the ladies shoutinig no romance without finance........guess why there are so much single girls in naija? guess why when u go to any single fellowships na women full there?

You guys are too materialistic. You tend to want ready made guys. Forgetting that this ready made guys have girls who suffered with them. You think I will leave a girl who rode okada with me when I had nothing for a girl who comes when I am comfortable?

Personal experience. I had a babe I was toasting once, and her mom actually chased me from her house cos I was coming on legeddiz benz. Well guess what, after I got my first car, she magically reappered. Do you think I would chase the babe who was jumping danfo with me for her? Of course since I had never f**cked her before, I did mark the register and move back to my babe.

She is still single as we speak. About two months ago she sent me an email that her sister would be in london for me to get some stuff for her....puleeeze.... you had the chance you blew it.

You ladies need to look at a guy's future not the present. Stop being myopic and be spiritual.

ComputersRe: Linux or Windows Operating System? by jogego(m): 11:09am On Jul 05, 2005
@ Niggy, were you able to sort out the triple booting stuff? I saw a post on it on www.mepislovers.org but I tried to paste the link but it wasnt working.

To be honest, if a distro does not have a live CD i dont bother. Am not going to install a distro only to find out it does not support my sound or most importantly my wireless card. Most of the distros I have used all have ndiswrapper which I use to 'wrap' the windows driver of my wireless card and get it to work in linux.

If a distro does not fit on a CD, I dont try it. And since I installed Kanotix, I seem to have been cured of my distro hopping. You need to check out these links:

www.osnews.com(news on pretty much any OS in existence)
www.tuxmagazine.com ( you can susbcribe to this, its a pretty good magazine in pdf format and its free)
www.distrowatch.com ( more links at the links section if you scroll down while on the front page)

If I may ask, where is the rule book that says a man should not do housework? If you are living as a bachelor, who do you expect to do your laundry, cook, clean the house?

I personally see nothing degrading in doing housework. I have no qualms about going into the kitchen and whipping up a delicious dish. I certainly have no reason to eat and expect someone to wash my dishes for me.

I marry a wife, a partner, a friend.... NOT A SLAVE. So all you guys looking on your wives to do this for you, una better go look for servants cos thats what u need not a wife.
FamilyRe: Housewife or Working Woman? by jogego(m): 9:47pm On Jul 04, 2005
And to all those who are thinking of running a family business with their partners, what then happens if as it always happens in Naija, something adverse to the business outside your control occurs? Natural disaster, Goverment legislature come to mind. When the whole family income is coming from one source, the Financial analyst in me rejects it. It is definitely not sound reasoning.

Yes I would love for my wife to work, but not an 8-5 thing. I know how it was growing up. I know the sort of scrapes we got into while still in secondary school and I know if it wasnt for the fact that some women in the neighborhood were full time house wives or teachers who got home early, God knows how I'd have turned out today.

I tend to be a realist, one of the parents have to spend more time at home. If my wife earns more than me, then I would do the school runs. That is the reality of the life we live in.

Come to think of it, I did download PC Linux some time back. I never tried it out, though I burnt the CD. I'll hunt for it and give it a swirl.
