mufutau55: I know but Abdul recommended hollow blocks too. The 9" blocks on the external walls are also good load bearing walls. Just dont try to install parapets o.
I have built two bungalows like I described above including my BQ which is a 2 Units of two bedrooms and I have never had any problem. I have always envision problems with plumbing and electrical installations with solid blocks.
Hajji M. thanks alot |

abdulwastecx: My problem with solid block is the stress of laying them, it is not popular among masons or bricklayers in the south west or north, they always have difficulties in setting them due to their weight.
6'' hollow block will work just fine for your bungalow because the anticipated load that it will carry only comes from the light timber roof load. But in other to hide your conduit electrical pipes as stated above by ''Oga hajj'' you will need to use 9'' for your exterior walls.
6'' solid and 9'' blocks are very closed in price, using 6'' solid will not save much money thanks alot |

mufutau55: Check Abdul's message above... He knows well more than I do, of course... But what I did was to use 9" hollow for the outer external walls while I use 6" hollow for the inside partitions. Hope you can afford that.
Hajji M. Good idea Was just thinking if solid blocks would be better than hollow blocks for bungalows....since most bungalow walls are load bearing walls. |

abdulwastecx: I prefer 9'' hollow blocks for my bungalow Nice...but in a case whereby one can't afford 9" hollow block & decide to opt for 6". Which would u recommend for a bungalow, 6"solid or hollow block? |
Properties › Re: Construction Of Fourbedroom Duplex And Two Unit Of Two Bedroom Flat @ Isheriopic by johnson232: 11:34am On Jun 19, 2017 |
abdulwastecx: Solid block is heavier and better used for load bearing walls hollow block is lighter and better used for frame structures As an enigneer, which would u recommend for a bungalow, solid or hollow block? |

nene2016: You can do the foundation and use the remainder of the money to raise a room or two, move in and continue with the rest as and when funds are available.
My 2 cents. Do foundation for 3 bedroom & raise one room on it? I think it will be better if he can reduce it to a mini flat, from foundation. When money comes, he can build sth bigger, even more than 3 bedroom. |

yak: SO wit 2m, I can get the block work and roof. and its somewhere in Ogun state Lol...u can't achieve roofing with 2m. Since u just need a simple bungalow, maybe if well managed u can get to the building height with the 2m. Without roofing ooo, i think that is the highest 2m can go for a 3 bedroom bungalow. |

akinolaolujide: nice idea but alot can improve, First all the rooms must be cross ventilated secondly you have alot of wasted spaces inside the building which i dont know if its your requirement or design issue but alot better can be done with the spaces between the kitchen and the stairs Thirdly In proportion the dining is way too big in relation with the kitchen and the bedrooms. Fourthly the master bedroom should have bigger space for the room Lastly a lot can be improved upon aesthetically. regards. I think it is going to be almost impossible to achieve cross ventilation in all rooms for such design. Considering the fact that the architect is working with land restriction. Just my observation. |

All men saying the same thing; women are serial cheaters & the DNA result is accurate...
Honestly i think God should have created just one gender, male or female with a means of procreation. This difference in gender lead to each defending his own, which has caused the rivalry between men & women, leading to so many evils.... |
