Faith in Jesus Christ is belief in Jesus Christ, if we add good works (like becoming a better person) to that faith - belief, then we have a living faith. And God brings us to those good works, unless we wan't to remain the same. Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? |
Yes we are saved by God because of our faith, and faith isn't just believing, as so many verses point out, faith is doing what God says to do, if we don't do as God instructs us in the bible, live the way He said to, then we have a dead faith, we say we believe and it ends there. For me these changes are slow, we are not to be self righteous, God does the works in us over time, we mainly have to be willing to do right, to allow God to work in us. You don't have to go out there and preach the Gospel if you are not good at that, you don't have to feed the world if you are poor, we have diffrent gifts, I'm not even sure what mine is. We do the little that we can and we don't do the wrong things that we used to do. sometimes we will sin, and then we pray to God to forgive us, and He does. |
The rosary is saying many hail mary's over and over again, the bible tells us to pray to God, not to saints or angels etc, Pray to God, yes, and not the same prayer over and over again. Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. |
bigfrancis21:Be truthful, these verses are not talking off Jesus in the flesh and blood, and even if they were, then no way can they be describing a black man (white face, the face is part of the head). Rev 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. |
Lol White head and hair, eyes like flames, feet like brass. It's not describing a flesh and blood Jesus. |
Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Rev 1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. Rev 1:12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; Rev 1:13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. Rev 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. This is how John in the spirit (verse10) saw Jesus. It was not only His hair that was white, but His head also. "His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow;" (verse 14) "And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace;" (verse 15) Brass or bronze burning in a furnace is a dark golden color. Tanned white people can be referred to as bronzed. "and his eyes were as a flame of fire;" (verse 14) Not a black man or a white man but a Heavenly vision. |
vooks:And you obviously put what you think is knowledge above scripture. 1Co 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? |
vooks:Long, 2000 years ago still means long today, does Jesus have short hair in those pictures in the OP, if not then He has long hair in those pictures. If He didn't have short hair 2000 years ago, then He had long hair, but he didn't, He had short hair. 1Co 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? |
JW's say Jesus Christ (now Michael) returned to earth invisibly in 1914 (the date has been changed repeatedly) and is working through his "Organization" to re-establish Jehovah's kingdom over the earth. Mat 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Rev_1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. |
Samson had long hair, scripture supports that, Samson was a nazarite which was a religious group of believers. Jesus was not a nazarite as some say, He was a Nazarene, being from Nazareth. Jesus did not have long hair like a woman, or the writer of this verse would not have said it. 1Co 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? I am not siding with jw's, I believe they are wrong about their main doctrines and many things. |
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We come to faith by hearing a Pastor preach from the Bible. and we come to faith by reading the bible, seek and you will find, God gives us faith just for seeking Him, He wants you to want Him. Mat_7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Eph_2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: |

Reincarnation is to come back as another person or animal as some say. Elijah (John the Baptist) came back as himself, just given a different name by his parents, also he did not die, but was taken up by God. |
The first three would be better than the last. |
One of God's names in the old testament is YHWH pronounced Jehovah in the Latinized translation and Yahweh in the Hebrew translation. In brackets () is my understanding. Psa 23:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD (Jehovah) is my shepherd; I shall not want. Joh 10:11 I am the good shepherd (Jesus): the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. Isa 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD (Jehovah), make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Mat 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, Mat 3:2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mat 3:3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias (Isaiah), saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Jer 23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD (Jehovah), that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch (referring to Jesus), and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. Jer 23:6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD (Jehovah) OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Isa 10:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD (Jehovah), the Holy One of Israel, in truth. Act 3:13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. Act 3:14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD (Jehovah) the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD (Jehovah) of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. (Jehovah Lord and King of Israel and Jehovah Lord of many are the first and the last, and the one True God.) Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (Jehovah speaking) Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. Joh 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. Joh 19:37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced. Deu 10:17 For the LORD (Jehovah) your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: Rev 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD (Jehovah); and beside me there is no saviour. (Now speaking of Jesus) Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. There are many more verses if any want. |
DieeDiee:Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: All I had to do was read the Bible wanting to know God and He gave me faith - belief, just as the verse says. You too can find Him, you have to want to, will He give Gold to those who won't dig for it, and who say it is not there. Act 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Act 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. There is some of the Gold that I found in just those few verses. |
Elijah didn't die, he was not to be found, his body would have been changed from mortal to immortal to enter Heaven, just as Jesus resurrected body was, which could pass through the wall of the locked room that the Apostles were in. The same way that those in Christ who are still alive at His coming will be. 1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. |
I believe that saying the rosary, the hail mary, over and over again is vain repetition. We are not to pray to mary a human being or saints-human beings, or angels, but to God. Jesus prayed only to the Father. |
johnydon22:The Hebrew text that the English was translated from has, "reem reeym reym rem" for wild bull-ox, rym ram raem, can also be used. God's truth is important, not yours or my spelling. These words are used in all the instances in the Bible where the english translation says unicorn, and the hebrew words that they translated from mean "wild bull" - "wild Ox". |
DieeDiee:You don't understand, the Hebrew word in the old text before the english translation is "reym" or "reem" if you prefer that spelling, and it means a wild bull. Why the english translation say's "unicorn" I don't know. |
johnydon22:The Hebrew word that is translated to unicorn is: reym, it means a wild bull. |
DieeDiee:But you don't have faith that unicorns exist, you just say that. Faith is truly believing, you don't truly believe that unicorns exist. The faith you talk about is blind faith. |
I thought there might be gold, so I dug and I found it. Some want proof that gold is there, and they don't dig, and they don't find. |
If anyone wants a good Bible on their computer which can give you the Hebrew and Greek words of the old texts, and much more, you can download it here, and it's free. http://www.e-sword.net Give the link to your Christian friends. |
Isa 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. G1694 Ἐμμανουήλ Emmanouēl em-man-oo-ale' Of Hebrew origin [H6005]; God with us; Emmanuel, a name of Christ: - Emmanuel. Total KJV occurrences: 1 1Jn 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. |
The only proof that God exists that I know off, is faith, that God Himself puts in a believers heart. God wants people to want to know their Creator and Saviour, you only have to seek Him in the Bible, and you will find Him. People who read the Bible wanting to know truth, do not say: prove to me that God exists, God has told them in their hearts that He does. It is anything but a blind faith. Joh_20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Heb_11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is the evidence (proof) that God exists. Eph_2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Heb_11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. |
bingbagbo:Yes, those verses clearly show that Jesus was not an Angel, and in verse 8 the Father calls Jesus "God". |
denisbid:Dictionary.com fornication 1. voluntary sexual intercourse outside marriage 2. (law) voluntary sexual intercourse between two persons of the opposite sex, where one is or both are unmarried 3. (Bible) sexual immorality in general, esp adultery I'm not certain if ss is immoral by itself, but the thinking which can accompany it can be. |
denisbid:1Co_6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. |
