as kingebukasblog said above, religiosity is not synonymous to being ethical or moral.. morality is about actions and actions spans mostly from our volition. how we relate these actions to others spans from our empathy, compassion, pity and equal considerations to those around us even the ones we feel are undeserving.

it is more noble i think to derive a social behavior based on maximum consideration of the feelings of others rather than what an authority or authorities say w should do, if we base the root of our actions towards others on empathy [considering he feelings of others], we will learn to treat each other with more kindness

Is also riddled with countless natural disasters all wanting to kill you or the humble ant somewhere - earth is not a perfect utopia not even for human life.

Difference in atmospheric pressure causes wind - nothing more than that, so i wonder which powers you are looking for..

If prayer works [though they don't] Someone should remind me again why you need to remind an all knowing being that you need help OR plead with an all loving being before it decides to help you..

Prayer is like a wish, i too also make wishes but wishes are nothing more than wishes - they only come true if you work for them.

You may pray/wish for rain and it rains but yet it also rains whether you pray/wish for it.

Prayer like wishes can induce a sense of hope and comfort that can help people get over difficult situation since they believe they are being looked after, this profound and sincere hopes even though based on a fantasy i think is not all bad or needed to be eroded - sometimes it is necessary and many rely on it - and i won't be so fast or blunt enough to take that away from people.
