excell12go: Thanks for this Mr President. I hav always known that the 'resume or be sacked' threat cannot work. Just pay them their outstanding salaries and get the Attorney General to sign the papers. I'm tired of sitting at home. What's this one saying?..pay them for the work they didn't do. Where is that done in this word?.. Who will pay for the 6 months hostel rent have already been wasted. If they refuse to resume, sack them asap. |

ASUU STRIKE LATEST: At last Senate Pass Resolution To End ASUU Strike Mandates Mark to lead negotiation team Senate yesterday passed a resolution asking Senate President David Mark to engage President Goodluck Jonathan and officials of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to end the four months strike that has shut Nigerian universities since July. Senate also appealed to the striking university lecturers to suspend the industrial action to allow room for negotiations, in order to resolve the stalemate. Senate resolution to empower Mark to lead the negotiation team with government and ASUU was based on a motion sponsored by a record 108 members, who fervently appealed to ASUU to call off the strike. After an exhaustive debate of the motion, during which senators agreed that the agreement ASUU signed with government in 2009 was not implementable because of the cost implication, directed its committee on education to liaise with the Ministry of Education, National Universities Commission (NUC), ASUU and other stakeholders on how to proffer solutions and stem further strikes. Mark blamed government officials, who represented government to sign the agreement with ASUU. His words: “It showed the level of people the executive sends to go and negotiate with ASUU. “The Federal Government should call those it sent to sign the agreement because it was obvious those sent did not know their right from their left and ASUU took advantage of that to sign the agreement. It is obvious that it would be difficult to implement the agreement.” Mark also took a swipe at the acting Minister of Education, Nysom Wike, for saying that the strike would soon come to an end in a few months, adding: “The statement of the minister was totally uncalled for and insensitive to the situation on ground.” He, however, pleaded with ASUU to shift grounds on its demands and noted: “There is no winner and no loser as long as the strike continues and nobody will win; all of us will lose.” Earlier, Senate Education Committee Chairman, Uche Chukwumerije, in the motion informed his colleagues that the major demands of ASUU, as contained in the agreement, included payment of post-graduate allowance; teaching practice and industrial training allowances and honorarium. Other allowances being demanded by the striking lecturers were post-graduate grants; external excess workload allowances; housing allowance; sabbatical allowance; sick leave allowance; injury allowance; provision of office accommodation; car allowance and funding of universities. Senator Olusola Adeyeye, who is also a former lecturer, kicked against the demands of ASUU and explained that majority of the allowances being demanded were frivolous and not applicable anywhere in the world. He said the economy of the country could not support the number of universities currently in operation and advocated for the introduction of education tax for all workers to fund education, adding: “But we must not allow the money to be consumed by bureaucracy.” |
In Deeper christian life ministry, popularily known as Deeper Life Bible Church, we care and love our living as well as those that died in the Lord. Because our hope is not only in dis world. We contribute, come out in mass and condole as when needed. Death is not the end of life, cos we still have life in Heaven.
Deeper life bible church are really trying in this case,I remember when my dad who's a member of the church died, they did everything necessary, they print the obituary stuff and the service of song programme was also printed by th church, appoint some member to travel with us to the village, write a letter to their branch in my village to conduct his burial, without asking a dim from us. They really relief us of some traditional stress. Thank God he's a member of depper life because those old village men would have finnish us with expenses. |

This happen to me in sch around march this year .I have only #215 in my account,I have to borrow 800 from my stingy girlfriend to pay in to my acct, i told her I will pay her immediately when am back. I pay in the 800 to make my money #1015,wait outside the bank for the money to reflect, and I use my atm to withdraw #1000. When i later told her,she could not stop laughing at me. |
berem: There's nothing outrageous about the money. The education sector needs proper funding. If our leaders can send their kids to foreign schools that are well funded, why should they not equally fund our own universities to meet up to international standard? The money required is small compared to the excessive looting going on in the presidency.Did they build the foreign school under 4 year's?..they loot money in every country its not only in nigeria. We should condemn ASUU demand, its just to outrageous. Haba ASUU should be realistic I beg. Shooo |
Dygeasy: OP, All These Bullets Wey Dey Your Post Follow Join?I dey tell u broda. I think say na only me d bullet touch o |
The president made some point clear about 1- ASUU being political about the strike 2- the reason why state own university also joined the strike I agreed with the president on those issues because 1- ASUU being political about the strike- I believe the president is right, they can't just wake up one day and say all the problem in the educational system must be solve at once. It will take some time and the FG has taken a good step toward solving it,they have given some amount out and this is the first government to have done that since the agreement was signed and they did not say that is the only money they will give but with time they will still award more money. If its not politically sponsored why should ASUU still don't won't end the strike and why is NUT wanting to join the strike too. ASUU should appreciate what the FG had done so far and call off the strike and allow us go back to school. 2- the reason why state owned university joining also the strike- its a reasonable question ask by the president. State owned university don't have any reasonable reason to join the federal university on the strike because even if the all the money demanded was realised it won't get to them, they are not part of the plan. What are the state gov doing about there own university, must everything be taken to abuja for solution?. To me I don't see any reason why state university should go on strike(especially my sch delsu bcus they are behind and should be working on meeting up with other school rather than joining a useless strike). That's my own opinion and everyone is entitle to his or her own opinion |
Every sector in the educational system are going on strike or threatening to go on strike, and our dear president is not just reacting to it at all. Since he sack the formal education minister, we have not heard anything from him. Someone should remind this man that education is the best tool to his 2nd term ambition. The security is pumping money into don't need money, they politicians know themselves and those behind the insecurity. Without education, president jonathan should kick 2o15 ambition good bye |

I was listen to a radio station this afternoon, and this topic came up. I reason it within myself and found out that truly women hate themselves. Some of the reasons why i agree is that 1- a woman will always want the downfall of her friend or fellow woman,so that she can laugh at her 2- a woman will expose all the secret between she and her fellow woman if they have little misunderstanding 3- a woman will see her fellow woman taking a wrong step,or doing the wrong thing but she will never call her to warn or advice her 4- a woman can never defend her fellow woman when a man is saying bad things about her, instead she will add to it. 5- a woman will always take side when her friends are fighting, instead of trying to make peace. Thank God of a man o!!...MEN ARE ALWAYS THERE FOR EACH OTHER..WE GAT EACH OTHER'S BACK |
