Christianity EtcRe: I Think We Need To Take Back Atheism From The Scientists.... by Joshthefirst(m): 6:03pm On Dec 28, 2013
plaetton: See how you sate this with much absoluteness.

God's perfection is different from human idea of perfection, god's morality is different from human idea of morality, god's time is different from human idea of rime, and on and on.
Bullshyt!

This is exactly my point. You are , like your fellow religious friends, making a great leap, an irrational leap by making an exception for your self-created god.
You are Josh are almost the same in this regard.
You cannot separate what you fantasize about from what is objectively real.

Can you not see your crossing over into magical thinking when you are walled in?
what form of magical thinking? Or fantasizing have I displayed? Sorry, but I deal in reality. And I deal with it in real life. I don't pat others on the back decieving myself about mans basic problems and heralding foolish speculations and stjupid reasoning. Thank you.

mazaje: Forget deepshight, he know very well what he is doing that is why he refuses to ascribe silly attributes to his god like the christians, who claim their god is all perfect but then creates imprefect beings(angels and humans), god is an intelligent designer but created some of the human parts unintelligently, their god is all knowing but yet he gets angry and display tantrums when human beings do things in certian ways. A god that knows all things can not be suprised but their god is suprised and shows regrets etc . .He know such a god is impossible so he goes about contructing an abstratc god that can not be clearly defined. . . .
you are the one with a false pathetic and puerile reasoning of even a mild "concept" of any God.
Christianity EtcRe: The Evolution Of The Sexes And Sexxual Reproduction by Joshthefirst(m): 5:48pm On Dec 28, 2013
plaetton: I am so surprised that a dogmatic position can hold one in so tight a hostage that it completely obscures ones deep reflections and one's deepsight.

How silly is it really to attack an accepted theory from a position of ignorance?

If you want a scientific debate about this, then arm yourself with scientific reasons why you reject the current scientific positions on this.
Stop this silly nonsense of ' of I reject this because I feel this or I feel that way. Insufficient knowledge is grounds to reject an idea.
Most people don't understand the compicated work of trying to explain aspects of evolution. Most people are very scared of even trying, for fear that they might see it's strong merits.
Yet everyone with a god comes i here with barely baked and even blank knowledge to loudly challenge what they don't understand, and may never understand.
I don't know why you like saying ambiguous nonsense when boxed in a corner sir.

Just gather yourself together and reply again. We can forget the above ever happened grin

rationalmind: Firstly, It won't be a poor argument because the device was designed either by humans prone to errors and mistakes or by machines prone to malfunction.

That does not apply to your programmer whom is perfect without defects and can't make mistakes.

Secondly, a defective version of the device is a product of mistake. I hope ure not trying to say your brilliant programmer, capable of designing such a magnificent organ as the brain also makes mistakes.
you realize that when I come in, all this discrepancies are resolved right?

rationalmind: Even foresight is a sense of something not evident.

That makes it extra-sensory in Josh's world. grin grin
this is when you think too much on trying to debunk the obvious and end up making a fool of yourself. By extra-sensory I meant beyond physical (and even intellectual) senses mind you.

Foresight:
1. Perception of the significance and nature of events before they have occurred.
2. Care in providing for the future; prudence. See Synonyms at prudence.
3. The act of looking forward.

Foresight is intellectual. It involves judging events and understanding future outcomes and consequences of decisions. It is very different from the definition of intuition.

Its nice to know you're still thinking about it though. Maybe you'll understand later.

rationalmind: I like Josh for one thing, you brag and gloat about ignorance.

There is nothing extra-sensory about intuition. Your definition b even said it is a sense of something not evident. The subconscious is also not evident and we know its controlled by the brain.

You have no point brah
so intuition is controlled by rational processes! Did you even look well at that definition?

rationalmind: No. It exists because it can be controlled.
huh

grin grin grin
Christianity EtcRe: The Evolution Of The Sexes And Sexxual Reproduction by Joshthefirst(m):
Just as I was about to open this kind of thread. Nice.

In over 1.4 million species on earth there is a distinct gender difference; Male and female.

But though we don't know what(or who) is behind sex.ual reproduction and its detail and design, we cannot blame God for this grin grin. There must be a random non-directed cause. grin

in·tu·i·tion  (nt-shn, -ty-)
n.
1.
a. The act or faculty of knowing or sensing without the use of rational processes; immediate cognition. See Synonyms at reason.
b. Knowledge gained by the use of this faculty; a perceptive insight.
2. A sense of something not evident or deducible; an impression.

Ignorance is bliss. Intuition which is extra-sensory is controlled by the brain. Chai.
Christianity EtcRe: I Think We Need To Take Back Atheism From The Scientists.... by Joshthefirst(m): 12:48pm On Dec 28, 2013
rationalmind: Same way it gave birth to hunger, love e.t.c which are all abstract concepts controlled by physical regions of the brain which is a by product of evolution.

Intuition maybe is also controlled by some physical aspects of the brain. I'm not into neuroscience but I know someone who is into it will be able to shed more light.

So, stop making unnecessary leaps
go and check your dictionary for the comprehensive definition of intuition.

Logicboy03: I started the thread
I have the most comments on this thread

Summary- Joshthefirst's question is out of either silliness or dubiousness- grin grin grin
okay.

Logicboy03: No....because it is illogical....we deny it because it is illogical

Logical Evidence-
Josh; I have a bat
Logicboy; prove it!
Josh; *produces a bat* here is the bat!

Illogical/spiritual evidence;
Josh; I have a bat
Logicboy; Prove it!
Josh; You cant prove that I dont have a bat!
Deep Sight: These are physical, and hence, scientific testaments: which can also be subjected to scientific verification. Still, end of the day, the kind of evidence of God you seek.

And a pity indeed, that in spite of the abundance in every iota and inch of life and living creatures about you, you will stare it all in the face; you will stare at the grand and stupefying design even of your own ungrateful body: and, thumb in mouth, nappies soaked, still screech: "no evidence! not a shred of evidence!"

O, yes, to the extent that you will want a physical appearance, scientifically recorded and verifiable as real, and not some holographic hoax.

Your mind is just as invisible as God is invisible: you do not doubt the existence of your mind because of its works. The mind of God is manifest also in the works of God.
Why must the same thing be repeated to you several times before you begin to grasp and plan counter arguments to deny the obvious?

Evolution is both a physical and natural process.
so how can this physical and natural process give rise to intuition?
Christianity EtcRe: If Adam Didn't Eat The Forbidden Fruit.. by Joshthefirst(m): 12:24pm On Dec 28, 2013

chai.

May God have mercy on us.

We don't even care for the basis of our moral standings anymore.
Christianity EtcRe: I Think We Need To Take Back Atheism From The Scientists.... by Joshthefirst(m): 12:18pm On Dec 28, 2013
rationalmind: Lol, this is a case of you making leaps. If intuition is a fact, what makes you think it doesn't have some evolutionary basis? Don't ask me the basis because I don't know. I'm just saying it might have.
your saying it "might have" is illogical.

Although I don't even believe in evolution,
Answer me this question: is evolution a physical process? Is it a natural process? Or is it an extra-physical process? A supernatural process?
Christianity EtcRe: Is Abortion Wrong In Cases Of Rape, Incest Or When The Mother's Life Is At Risk? by Joshthefirst(m): 12:13pm On Dec 28, 2013
Kay 17: @striklymtl

But you don't think the sperm cells are persons?!
grin

Sperm cells can never develop into human beings.

Conception yields the zygote. A developing human being.(Are you not a developing human being).

Now when is it right to kill a developing human being in the womb?

rationalmind: Plaetton knew where you were going. There was no need replying
be quiet for pete's sake!

If intuition is a fact and an agreeable happening and it is not logical or physical, can't we deduce that there is an aspect of the universe and even of ourselves not logical or physical also?

Simple. Denying what is real will never help you or anyone else.

I doff my HEART.
no. They deny anything that is spiritual or supernatural because it is "unscientific" grin

I asked plaetton if he believed in intuition and he didn't reply me, just dodged and ran away. grin
Christianity EtcRe: Is Abortion Wrong In Cases Of Rape, Incest Or When The Mother's Life Is At Risk? by Joshthefirst(m): 12:01pm On Dec 28, 2013
OlaoChi: Ok life is the Great gift of existence but why do you deprive animals of that Great gift just so you can satisfy your appetit?

while still in the womb it isn't human until it is born and even though we still categorize the unbirthed child as human why should you bring a child in the world to suffer? Another case could be According to your Christian doctrines that child could be born and go to hell something that wouldn't happen if the child never existed
In fact it's much better for human existence to end than end up in eternal suffering

Am just making you understand the many advantages or good sides with abortion especially as it relates with your religion
that is a lie. A big lie. A baby is not human until it is born? Nonsense.

That's what people said about slaves and what hitler said about jews. That they weren't human.

OlaoChi: Every society has it's own rules if you don't like it you migrate
grin. I hear. In those days, it was within the laws of Germany to kill jews. And to wage war on nations in a bid for survival of the fittest.
Christianity EtcRe: 5 Facts About Abortion For The Anti-abortion Crusaders by Joshthefirst(m): 11:56am On Dec 28, 2013
A foetus is not human? It is a potential human? When does it become a human? Why will you say this just to rationalize the despecability of abortion? Of murder? The unlawful killing of a baby in the womb?

Logicboy03: Here is the reasoning

Countries that allow abortion usually also have an educated youth on the use of contraceptives and se.x education. They have less children....Japan. UK

Countries that dont allow abortion usually have silly attitudes towards contraceptives and preach unattainable abstinence. The women in these countries get pregnant anyhow and then go to quack/native/black market doctors for abortion.

abortion in all cases should be fought against. Safe sex is announced everywhere in nigeria.
Christianity EtcRe: Four Basic Things You Probably Didn't And Should Know About Atheists. by Joshthefirst(m): 11:28am On Dec 28, 2013
Zikdik: Atheists and butthurt? Butthurt is something synonymous with christains and christainity. You lot get that loads of times.
P.S: This is very interesting. A christian finally admits that they donot have all the answers.
grin

Tell that to logicboy.

And God has the answers not us. We know Jesus is the way and the answer for the world's sin today. But to some questions asked, we have no answers.
Christianity EtcRe: 5 Facts About Abortion For The Anti-abortion Crusaders by Joshthefirst(m): 11:12am On Dec 28, 2013
What do you mean banning abortion does nothing to reduce abortion? So the number of abortions that occur in banned states is the same with the ones that occur in other states that legalize it?
