rationalmind: There is no evidence at all. Be it scientific or non-scientific.this is a blatant lie. ![]() |
firestar: Sagamite: He reminds me of those giant lizards who 'owns' land: komodo dragon, crocodile for instance. I DARE you to doubt me. ![]() You never cease to amaze me with your unusual posts sometimes. ![]() You have a special way of thinking. |
Logicboy03: .what are you doing here lb? You cook? ![]() |
rationalmind: Hahahaha, what were u thinking? That u were about having a convert? Wake up brother. I remain my humble agnostic (tending towards atheism).post modified. You can thank me later. ![]() If God fits into scientific evidence, he ceases to be God. |
Lol! See as they all act as if you never posted this?
RationalDude: @op, you said that God is love and according to the bible, this is the definition of love:Yes, God has all those qualities, and as elantracey said, he has more. Let us be balanced. God is love, but that does not mean he doesn't have a sense of right and wrong. He is also a consuming fire, it is a fearful thing to fall into his hands. |
rationalmind: Lol. This is religion for you. Everyone with his own interpretation. I'm just hearing this your interpretation for the first time.this isn"t religion, this is life and death, serious matter, its written in almost all my threads, its what christianity is all about. I'm sure this is not the first time you're hearing it, its just the first time you've listened. I adjure you to go and study about Jesus and his prophecies and his life in the bible with an open mind and especially the things he said. You can start with the gospel of John, then matthew. This is serious stuff. Is death not serious? God is real. He is judge, he offers humanity a way out of death and sin. FOR THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH, BUT THE FREE GIFT OF GOD IS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD |
Ihedinobi: Uj, my perception ![]() |
JMAN05: He could be called a God but not the almighty God. two Gods are mentioned there. one the word/begotten son while the other is a Father.you're shooting yourself in the foot: Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: |
rationalmind: So, as long as they don't violate Gods moral laws written in their minds, no matter their disbelief in Jesus as the saviour and the way, they will make heaven.why do you even want to make heaven sef? I thought you didn't believe in it because it cannot be proved by empirical science? ![]() |
rationalmind: So, as long as they don't violate Gods moral laws written in their minds, no matter their disbelief in Jesus as the saviour and the way, they will make heaven.yeah. As long as you have never sinned in your life and you're a perfect human being, you'll make heaven. That's Gods standard, perfection in holiness. Jesus came to save those who were imperfect and those who have sinned. He is mighty even now, to save those who believe in him from Gods wrath through Gods mercy. |
rationalmind: Good. I have a question. Will muslims and other adherents of the almost other 4200 religions other than christianity make heaven? Remb muslims in particular mock trinity and don't believe Jesus is the son of God.this is untrue. There is no unwillful sin(wrt the quoted statement) 1. Their crime is to sin, to sin isn't when one is not "born into the christian religion", indeed one cannot be "born into a relationship with God(which christianity is). Their crime is violation of God's moral law which is written in their minds(like it is in all of sane humanity). Once one sins, its wages is death, irrespective of mental or spiritual or religious or irreligious standing. 2. Sin unites all mankind as guilty, everyone has lied and stolen and looked at another lustfully etc. And the wages of sin is death. Our conscience bears witness to the fact that we sin. Muslim or christian, barbaric or civilized, rich or poor, refined or not, atheist or not, you cannot deny sin. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. All stand condemned. But God loved us enough to have mercy on us and give us a way of salvation. He bore our own punishment for us, and set us free through Jesus Christ. This is the gospel. There is no need to die, or to continue in the pleasures of sin unrepentant. Times of ignorance are over. We have been sent to spread this good news to mankind. Whoever believes and accepts the loving sacrifice of Jesus is saved. Whoever does not accept pays the full penalty of his sins and bears Gods wrath in Hell. God is holy, and he cannot allow sin to go unpunished. You see, although this might seem a trivial matter, it is more serious than you can ever grasp. It is your eternal salvation and well being. You choose. But one thing is sure, the almighty cannot be mocked: For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our lord God is patient, but he will indeed punish sin. Sooner or later, he will indeed punish sin. |
rationalmind: If I get your point, the reason people won't make heaven and suffer in hell is if they wilfully sin. Correct me if I'm wrong.yes it is. |
woky: joshthe1styeah. How life? |
Alwaystrue: Jesus the Word of God testament was wholly enforced at His death but it did not limit His working while alive for He forgave sins even before He died. Matthew 9:6.okay ma'm. Thanks |
Alwaystrue: You may as well say all Jesus said before He died is not relevant then using this same basis you are bringing.yes he is the word of God... But was the lords prayer part of the agreement he put forward between us and the father? |
Alwaystrue: A discussion that will make us search the scriptures more, more like.hmmmm. But what about the lords prayer? When Jesus taught them that prayer, his name was not yet exalted.? |
We even speak in new tongues and perform signs in Jesus' name: Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. Here's a prayer that was prayed (to God and answered by God) by the early church: Acts 4:24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: 25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? 26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. 27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. 29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, 30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. 31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. |
I believe the scripture has guidelines for prayer. John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. 25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. 26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. |
Alwaystrue: @Joshthefirst,ma'am. I believe as you said, that we have many principles to learn from the lords prayer, but in this day of his resurrection, I believe our prayers are adressed to the father in Jesus' name. The lords prayer was not in Jesus' name. We now boldly stand before God through Christ Jesus. And we pray all of our prayers in his name. Indeed, we are to do all things and give all praise to the Father in Jesus' name |
damilarelr: You need to read this with an open mind leaving out any form of indoctrination. So here we go:blessed be the name of the lord. The lords prayer was to be taught during the transitional period. Jesus taught it to the disciples because he had not yet gone to the cross to establish a new relationship in his name. We can learn many things from the lords prayer, but now, we pray to the father in Jesus' name John 16:19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. 21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. 22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. 23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. 26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: 27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. Jesus meant what he said. He was going to die, nd they would have sorrow, but then, he would ressurrect with a new covenant enacted with his blood in his name. That is why he said "in that day.." He said hitherto, meaning up until now, you have not prayed in my name. Ask and you shall receive. We pray to the father in Jesus' name. We do not even pray to Jesus, and Jesus does not pray to the father for us. The lords prayer is not to be prayed now, though we learn a lot of princips from it. Pray to the father in Jesus' name |
ledafaze: I heard a joke on radio the day before that ASUU should please make sure the strike lasts at least 9 months so the school girls that got pregnant would have been delivered of their baby before resumption.... ![]() Good morn everyone. Have a blessed day. |

Wow! Really edifying. Strong stuff. For the carnal mind is enmity with God, because it cannot be subject to Gods law. I would like you to pou some things in better words sir. Thank you sir. For this edifying message. I agree with it. It has helped build me up this morning. I will continue to keep the flesh under by continuing in the word of God. My life will continue to bear witness to the message that Christ saves from sin. In Jesus' name. Blessed be the name of the lord. May the church rise up. May we walk in God's word God bless you sir. |
