EducationRe: Is Homework A Waste Of Time For Primary School Children? by jumie(f): 4:20pm On Jul 14, 2009
I believe homework is a way of refreshing the memory of the child on what the child has learnt at school.

It also gives parents an idea on what the child has been taught and on how well the child understands what he or she is taught.

I support homework and lots of it too, to keep the child busy and far from unnecessay TV's and games.

FamilyRe: Is Secrecy In Marriage Protective Or Destructive? by jumie(f): 3:16pm On Jul 10, 2009
If you consider it a secret, then it is worth telling your spouse about!

If you do not tell your spouse, there's a possibility that your spouse will get to know somehow (its only a matter of time) and then your trust will be jeopardized! There should be no secrets in marriage.

FamilyRe: Please Help I Dont Love My Wife by jumie(f): 2:17pm On Jul 07, 2009
When you slept with her and got her pregnant, did you hate her or where you blindfolded?

There are lots of questions you have to ask yourself? What is your aim or reason for feeling the way you do? If you discover you don't have a reason, then I advise you make haste and make peace with your wife. Don't allow yourself to be a willing-vessel in the hands of the devil.

The resposibility of a man is to LOVE his wife, no matter what the circumstances. You owe her that! LOVE her, while she submits to you. You claim she has been good to you, then the least you can do is to respect and love her. The ball is in your court.

Who made the decision about sleeping in separate rooms in the first place? That is not the best thing for a marriage. Both of you need to examine yourselves, sit dowm and make peace.
CareerRe: Should I Quit My Programming Job? (Can't Cope) by jumie(f): 10:00am On Jul 03, 2009
@ poster,

I will say its just a little early (2 months) to make up your mind about quitting ur job. All kinds of jobs have their own challenges, most especially in the first few months of resumption. The most important thing is for you to be in the right frame of mind to handle responsibility. I suggest you talk with your boss and ask for a few days casual leave so you could get your acts together.

Since you have interest in IT as you said, just keep at it and DON'T QUIT TOO SOON!!!

You can do it, believe in yourself!

Cheers

FamilyRe: Im Married But In Love With Another Man by jumie(f): 2:29pm On Jun 23, 2009
@ Berit,

I think there are a lot of issues you did not understand before going on with the marriage. The fact that an African walks up to you and seeks your hand in marriage without having his papers should have been an indication that he only wanted to use you to get his papers. And after that be free as a bird.

I will advice that you prayerfully (if you believe in God), talk to him about it. Tell him you want to get a clear understanding of where the marriage is headed also let him understand that his behaviour is not the best especially for the kids. If you have mutual friends, ask them to help you talk with your husband.

Finally, is your new boyfriend an african without papers? if yes, please run as fast as your legs can carry you. If he is not, then you have to ask him for a little break so that you can put your life in order.

What will be your husband's stand if you told him that you wanted a divorce? Will he refuse? You could just try to see his reaction to this.
Christianity EtcWhat Does This Mean? by jumie(op): 11:40am On Jun 23, 2009
Please I need a bible scholar or anyone who understands the meaning the the words , kick against the pricks, as used, to explain them to me. I have had a hard time understanding its meaning.

Acts 9:5
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Acts 26:14
And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
FamilyRe: Ladies: Can You Be A Housewife? by jumie(f): 10:26am On Jun 23, 2009
Housewife ke?

What happens when the hubby dies (God forbid)? Will you'll go on the streets begging or run to your in laws for help (plleeaase). Every woman should wake up and face reality! Plan for yourself and your kids.

Even if you say you want to stay home 24/7 to take care of your kids. You have to remember that one day, these kids will grow up and leave the home so what becomes of you? Will you remain alone in the house saying you are a housewife? Or you'll move in with your kids and become a Housemother? grin

Pleeeeaaaase!
CareerRe: After Third Class, Im confused. please advice me by jumie(f): 4:25pm On Jun 19, 2009
If you are interested in IT then i suggest you focus on IT. What you made in school does not matter. You should just go ahead and take the IT courses that you want, it will equally boost your CV. Going for Masters in your course will only streamline you into industrial chem related jobs.

All da best!
RomanceRe: Marriage Is A Beautiful Institution But Why The Break-ups ? by jumie(f): 4:18pm On Jun 19, 2009
Virgo83:
In addition to this

Three things you must know in the process to preserve a Mutual Communion Known as Marriage.
I. Be Patience
II. Must Have Endurance
III. Must Always Over-Look Things
I do not agree that a couple Must always overlook things. For a successful marriage, over looking things always is not the best. If a party feels something is not right, then he or she has the right to tell the other person so that a matter of such will not reoccur. Always overlooking things will eventually lead to both becoming intimate strangers. That's why building solid friendship before marriage is advised.
RomanceRe: Marriage Is A Beautiful Institution But Why The Break-ups ? by jumie(f): 4:00pm On Jun 19, 2009
The most important thing is friendship. If the husband and wife are best of friends, then it will be easier to relate with one another in times of trial. Sex before marriage, usually clouds the reasoning of intending couples. Marriage is a lot more than sex. It has to do more with compatibility and true friendship.

As a result, lack of understanding, which mosly originates from insufficient knowledge about each other is primarily resposible for marriage breakups. Also, impatience, lack of tolerance, infidelity, just to mention a few are responsible.
EventsRe: Wedding Planning Palaver. Pls Am I Wrong? by jumie(f): 3:43pm On Jun 12, 2009
Preparing for a wedding can be a very stressful period for the couple. Both of you may be under stress. It's bad that she will not be contributing anything, which only makes the pressure more on you. However, the ball is in your court to make your fiancee realize that she has to be a good money manager. She is even lucky that she has a generous man to provide most of the things.

Lovingly let her know what you want and the most important thing is to work with a budget and make sure you do not exceed it. That will help.
BusinessCan One Really Make Money From Fashion Designing? by jumie(op): 3:11pm On Jun 12, 2009
I need some frank advise about this issue.

I have been very much interested in the fashion business for a long time. I dream of owning a fashion house and having my own label. I went ahead to invest my time (running into years), resources and energy into going for trainings in fashion designing. I have long since completed the program, and have fine designing and sewing skills, making clothes for friends and people in general. However, the only snag is that everyone even family say, there is no future in designing and its better to get a white collar job, etc. How can I make them believe otherwise?

Only sincere advise is needed.
BusinessRe: Where Can I Buy Baby Clothes? by jumie(f): 1:47pm On Jun 12, 2009
Please, why don't you find your way to Eko-idumota-balogun, ask for the baby sections. They have everything you'll need. You don't need to go too far. Just sum up strength and go with someone who'll help you with the load. I did my shopping there, mind you, the prices are affordable.

Christianity EtcThe Best Prayer Posture by jumie(op): 11:31am On Jun 12, 2009
Been wondering why is it that many christians fall asleep while lying down praying? Is it that God does not honor such prayers? Also, why is it that the so called violent prayers cannot be prayed while lying or sitting down. Is there any kind of correlation between the posture you assume while praying and your prayers being answered? For me though, I still believe in the kneeling or walking, cos it works for me. What do you think?

@Amalone

There's no need for name calling. Am sure you aint married and you sound very young! You have little knowledge on what marriage is all about.

Some posts are better left for knowledgeable people to handle. Some of us have been married for years and have better and clear understanding of how to have a blissful home.
