lastpage: Gentlemen,Lets take it easy! U.K is good because it is culturally close to Nigeria, loads of friends there and the language is friendly!Simply put, any Nigerian will settle down in the U.K, faster than anywhere else in the world Having said that, if you're not the home-sick type like me,Pack your bags and head to the nearest Swede Embassy or ANY Scandinavian Country for that matter! You will be shocked that the same Course you pay a fortune for (enough to build a Bungalow!) in U.K, is free in those countries! Moreso, you will live happily without all the "ojoo" looking at you like you're an "ALIEN" from Mars! FREE, FREEEE, FREEEEEE EDUCATION! Abeg, make U.K go siddon jooo.BTW: This is not new or news, l am sure a lot of people here already know this? Whats the British shakara all about? Very soon those countries will ban Nigeria or put a very tough immigration rule in place cos of Nigerians. Many of u shouting down the UK govt are blinded to the main issue here. Some Nigerians CAN NOT BE TRUSTED, we abuse every system we step our foot into. Every country got the right to protect their system from abuse. |

Emmz: Ever since the Abdulmutallab saga all those countries that have been looking for the perfect avenue to treat us really bad have now gotten the chance. I returned from Nigeria to the UK just two days ago and mehn what i saw was not a pretty sight. Apparently the plane from Lagos and one from Hong-kong arrived almost at the same time. I was on the second line or let me say second and a half line. Our plane landed at 4.30 i got out of immigration at 6.20 almost pissing 2hours maite. They were just taking their time scrutnizing Nigerian passenger's documents, details etc but they weren't really doing that to the chinese.I saw a couple of Nigerians they asked to go sit in the corner and wait. I was so sad for them.It is really sad. I could tell that most of these pple were embarrased. Nigerians!! we are always quick to blame everyone else for our prob, what do you expect when our reputation is nothing to write home about. UK and other countries has to do everything in their power to fish out the dubious ones among us. |

joxiri: yea I was just about to post that well its their loss like the Elizabeth mclaren said students would just go elsewhere if they make changes but dont the majority of Nigerian students come to the uk to do higher degrees like bachelors and masters rather than come to learn English because I dont think that many Nigerians go to the so called bogus colleges to study English as Nigeria is a commonwealth country already The changes will hit mainly those who use the college short cut to enter the UK and disappear, genuine Nigerian students will be fine. |

debosky: There is no reason to be alarmed. Nigerians are already deemed high risk in practice so there will be little or no change to the actual processes you need to go through. The difference will be felt by those countries deemed low risk, as the need to demonstrate you have funding for the intended course may be waived/relaxed. This relaxed regime will be primarily based on the history of other students from that country, majority of who have completed their studies and returned, unlike Nigerians. Rushing through your student application will not make any difference - you will still be treated as high risk anyways. Anyone who has visited a British embassy outside of Nigeria will clearly see that the treatment in Nigeria is very different due to the high risk perception. Really have to agree with u. Sadly though i wish the case is different. |

chamber2: I can always get my British certificate from Malaysia or Singapore even at a lower cost because there are so many UK universities there .What will I be going to the UK to do? Everybody Uk,Uk!! University of Nottingham,University of Derby,University of Sunderland,Oxford Brooks etc all these schools are in Malaysia,Singapore and even S.Africa.You don't need to go to the Uk anymore for these certificates. For instance, accommodation in Malaysia is about $150 per month, tuition fee which people pay as high as 21,000 pounds per yr in the uk is only but 8,000-11,000 USD in Malaysia,Singapore or even S.Africa and at the end of the day you are issued the same certificate, and might even be more knowledgeable than someone who attended the main campus in the UK.Also,i think its high time we started encouraging these universities to start opening up campuses in Nigeria, since our country is among the highest ''exporter'' of international students to the uk.Doing so,to my knowledge, will reduce cost both for the school, students and their parents, and maybe upon graduation they could go to the uk for their convocation ceremony. This bad rush to the uk is becoming worrisome. Don't even get carried away with that, don't carry to compare cos u don't have the experience of both worlds. |

HautMonde: @just wise, Thanks for your comments. Making a decision on how to progress with one's application to a University is not as easy as it may seem to you. For many Nigerians, the decision on what University to choose itself is tasking. At HautMonde, our aim is to sit down wth such prospective student and help him/her make the best choice based on his preferences and background education. The next step of going ahead to apply to these University(ies) is another daunting task for most people. Again, we at HautMonde will help the student through the admission process including helping to send the students' documents to schools and continue to help to monitor the progress of the application until the admission letter is received. What we render is simply a consulting service. Our aim is to go beyond giving advice to actually helping the students make the applications. As it is, we are rendering this service for free for now as stated in the original post. I do hope I have clarified any issue? Please feel free to ask any question if necessary. Please try another business idea, admission processes is free, nothing like limited time or opportunity, don't make it sound as if one pay for the form or for application process. |

Please try and business idea, admission process now is as simply as ever, any Nigerian who can't complete the form online and attach his or her qualifications and cliclk SEND is not ready to study anywhere even in Nigeria. You know that what u said here is not the whole story. |

A high ranking Nigerian government official who abused his position to take bribes and then laundered the dirty money through a fake London consultancy firm has been ordered by the High Court to hand assets worth £1.25m to SOCA. The order was granted by the High Court in London against 68 year old Christopher Orumgbe Agidi from Lagos in Nigeria, trading as Orion Worldwide Consult Limited. Mr Agidi was the former Director of the Federal Ministry of Education and the former Director of the National Civil Registration Directorate with the Nigerian civil service from 1995 until his retirement in 2002. http://www.soca.gov.uk/news/311-corrupt-nigerian-official-must-hand-back-p125-million |

What will happen if I intent to apply for a VISA to any country without married certificate to this effect? What will happen when they see that my married certificates date is recent date knowing fully well that we had a traditional married 6 years back with 3 children?
