I have been staying in hotel with huge charge almost close to a week with my wife, we can’t even cook grin. All my tastebud don spoil... I haven’t seen good affordable room for couple in the whole of Hertfordshire even tho I upped my budget to 750pounds to 800pounds. We are getting depressed already ooo. Wetin make I do like this. What’s the implication of getting single room but double bed for couple as we don tire already. I’m at Stevenage currently. What can I do?
There is no implication as long as the landlord allows it. Look for studio or bedsit accommodations

I have a friend that did the same maybe slightly different but. He did his first masters in 2019 and applied for another masters 2020 because the PSW did not cover him. Two months into his second masters he got a graduate job with sponsorship in an engineering firm and switched his visa and deferred his masters

That masters is deferred for ever…lol

It’s getting clearer now that this is loophole that many can legally take advantage of especially those with work experience and qualification.

Is it possible to pick appointment for biometrics at the Nigerian high Commission in London?[b/]
Just trying to plan ahead because of my kid's school.
Hoping to go around the Easter break.
Or does anyone know the latest dates they are giving currently?
You can’t, you have to wait until they email you an appointment date but that can take months.

If you have the money go for fast track, you don’t need appointment for that.

I did something slightly similar. I took a full job, during my last semester meant for internship. I know the employer contacted the home office for guidance, as I got the university to issue a letter saying I had concluded all taught modules and exams ,which the employer then presented to the HO for guidance before giving me the job, then subsequently T2 sponsorship.
What year was this?

Thinking about it. I think it might work.If you are willing to walk away from the fees paid and potentially your certificate, then recruiting you on Tier 2 can be done mid studies. After all the guy could have been in India and still qualify.
A lot of people will jump the ship in that regard.

Its a win win for the company and the person.

True.. it’s good to ask and get answers in the right context.

However, my employer didn’t wait for me to finish before starting. I started the job in my last semester.

I can’t remember exactly how it got to int’l office which was why I told them I got a job offering me sponsorship, they said I couldn’t be on tier 2 visa and continue my studies full time unless my employer was happy for me to do that, in which case, they’d need a written evidence from them and this was what led to that letter
I will be looking forward to read from someone who has done it recently ...especially switching at the beginning or mid-way to the course

If the letter was not added to the application then it was really irrelevant / unnecessary.
I think the letter is relevant because it covers the school, the employer and the employee immigration wise

This was in 2016, 5+ years ago as I have gotten ILR now sef. My uni told me they would be informing home office they were no longer my sponsor which I told them to go ahead with.

I have attached the letter my employer sent my school then

This is why its good to ask question and get detailed answers...from your screenshot it shows that you were at the last stage of your masters program and they wanted you to complete your study before starting the job.

So its not the same as someone who just landed and decided to switch to work visa

You are not wrong with this. However, what Nigeria has turned to in the last 2 to 3 years is best left unsaid. Only those of us that came into the UK in last 1 or 2 years can relate. It is now at a point where you said N5k or N10k gift to someone for and you are told to your face you have no shame (na before dem go talk am for your back. Lol). So everyone is just looking for a way out as long as they get something doing and making a meaning out of their lives. You can't blame them. I won't support getting it legally tho (whether using a blocked loan amount to apply for visa is legal or not is another topic) My wife was without job for 3 years in Naija after countless applications and she joined me as a dependant and got 2 during her 14 day quarantine. So the advice of people getting money for 3 months to settle in May not go down well with some people have trying so hard to get tuition and paying visa fees despite the challenges.

I just like that you have called out the fact that people need finances to settle in for the first few months especially in cases where they don't have people here to support them. So you have done your bit.

This is a forum, once a person seeks other people's opinion about something, he should not be biased in the way he takes peoples responses. It is usually good to have a balanced view. In the end, taking the decision lies with him. Attacking a particular person makes it look like you have put someone in mind waiting to explode.
No doubt things are hard in Nigeria, i just came back from Nigeria but this is what i don't get.....if you have 7M naira or more ready to pay for foreign education and you failed to plan how to make the most of your money here then you are not smart .

If somebody is angry because i said that people should come with at least 3months worth of cash to survive here then i couldn't careless.

Yes because you know it as much i do that you do not have the money you presented to the embassy. Fact!
...and that money is for your own use, your maintenance in the UK,

So asking if you have the money is not mocking you, its not bullying you or insulting you.

@justwise, you just jumped in to conclusion. I have said my opinion on what I observed. I didn’t mention names it’s what I observed.
Nobody will ask questions and dictate how he/she wants it to be answered. There are better ways to say the truth, give honest opinion and not act like VO.

You were part of the few than answered my very first question on this thread, I am not taking sides and I am just saying how it should be.

Eg: Can someone recommend how to go about studying in the Uk and Visa process
Ans:you can go to page 1 of this thread to read more
Not: are you sure you’ve read the thread very well? You can use google blah blah blah
I know some people wants to be spoonfed but there are better ways of attending to questions without hurting anyone like I said in my previous post.
Stay back here and start answering questions the way it will not hurt anybody's feeling.

Thousands have benefited from this thread and others in this section but very very few are back to answer questions ''nicely''

They only get offended why i did not tell them what they want to hear

You are just a proud egoistic dude, honestly and it is boldly written all over you! Do you know my financial status? because many people worked their pof you assumed I did same too right ? Because I requested for loan you concluded I used an untouched loan? Please Abeg Abeg Abeg! You can keep your egoistic advice to yourself! Learn to talk to people right and there are better ways to pass a message without feeling like you are more than what you are! People are struggling and going through a lot, and you feel passing a message that way was the best? You think people are not aware of the struggles of leaving for a particular country without money and accommodation ? Check out how other people responded and learn from them.
Not because you requested for a loan, you are looking for someone to accommodate you for. According to you: Even if it is for one month

Then i asked you what happened to the maintenance money you presented to the embassy? That got you worked up because you are uncomfortable with the truth.

If you have the money to finance your foreign education then why are you here looking for free accommodation and loan?

You need to have a stronger backbone and have an honest conversation with yourself.

According to you...you have the school fees worth about 7M naira, that is for the school but the money YOU NEED FOR YOURSELF you don't have it. You come to the UK and punish yourself working flatout, no time to study, attend group meetings for the whole period of the course.

Then course ends, at least 7M gone in 9months, you barely cross the line and holding a shiny certificate that doesn't worth the paper its written on,

PSW will do you very little in terms of finding a graduate job because that visa is a closed-end, not to talk of when you don't have a good result.

If you knew my history here ..that i''m such a bad person why then did you respond to my question?

On this Thread, I think some people are afraid to say the truth because they feel some gurus or oldies might not respond to their questions when they need help.
We need to learn how to address people, if we feel we might not be able to reply to people’s questions due to personal reason then we don’t need to comment.

We are here to help one another not to discourage. There are better and matured ways to address issue without making others feel bad. In as much as we want to hit the Nail on the head we need to be cautious. Please kindly help if you can, you never can tell who the next victim is. @ Mimi lyrics I must commend you for dropping those job postings, God bless you,God bless us all.

NB: my write up no mean say make u no answer help
Me when I need your help o me I just yarn how I feel. I am still a learner ooo
Address me squirrely and i have no prob with it.

You can't come here to ask a question and still dictate how you want it answered. Many stopped answering questions here because people like you will get offended because you did not get your preferred answer. Then next is to claim victim or bullying.

There are some people here who will wipe your nose and talk to you like a child so as not to hurt your feeling...count me out.

But No, his T2 was approved this week. I didn't know that was possible so hey students shine your eyes ooo. This guy got his visa so he has switched from T4 to T2 without completing the degree

Justwise I don't intend to break any rules ooo but information is power hence why I am posting this

Find out if that person switched before finishing his or her course, someone posted similar thing here before and i asked the same question but got no answer

A bit of tip....Look for school with lesser school fees, affordable city and go for Jan admission.

Jan starts have longer visa duration and holiday, so you will have 2 summer holidays while Sept starts have one and shorter visa duration.

Look for schools with such time table...it will be outlined on their websites

Bingo!! Here we go, this is what happens when you cheat yourself thinking that you are smart by using untouchable loan to get a visa

I will keep saying it and i couldn't give a rat backside what some of you think about me.

Don't come to the UK if you are not financially prepared, at least for the first 3months, by then you are familiar with few things and get a job to survive.

Ask those encouraging you to go ahead with this perilous journey to accommodation for one night, just a night.
