Am actually a woman, wife and mother . Yes the baking and decoration brings in money but it varies, it can be as low as 20k or as high as 100k a month. it isn't specific. I will add the receipt. can I add invoices from where I buy baking and decoration things. also, can I add the documents to our house or plan.
I would have love to add family photos and that of property but I couldn't add picture photographs when I applied because I was told they don't accept pictures anymore.
since I couldn't travel this December, I believe by easter the cost of my trip would have reduced by half. Am sure I would be spending above 380k (ticket and miscillenous inclusive).
these were the documents I submitted before:
6 months payslip. 6 months bank statement from gtbank and first bank account stamped (both amounts to 800k) 3 years tax clearance marriage certificate degree certificate birth certificate letter of appointment letter of promotion letter of introduction from employer leave letter
from my cousin Photocopy of Data page (showing his British citizen status) employment letter promotion letter 6 months payslips 6 months bank statement tenancy agreement letter of invitation stating he is taking care of accommodation and feeding
Pls note that we are in season now and this is baking and decoration season, I just got a job this morning with almost 60k profit. by January ending, salary plus profit, am sure I will have up to 1.2m in my account
1. Pls if I add those receipts, children birth certificate and property documents, am I good to go.
2. the documents to our house is carrying my name and that of my husband, can I use it. or can I change it for this purpose.
3. should I apply in January ending or February
thank you How about your hubby's docs like bank statement? Even as he is not traveling with you it will be an advantage to your home tie. 1.Yes you need to add all those docs 2. Please don't change anything and submit the house doc as its. 3. Apply when you have enough and cheaper flight ticket available. |

Lets say i apply get a visa to study Architecture but once i get to the UK I switch want to switch to Engineering. Will it affect the validity of the visa i used to gain entry? That is possible though some universities may have different policy regarding switching. 1st though you may have to check the course requirements to know if you are qualified to do that course. |

Isoken2000: hi justwise,
I got my package today and was refuse 6months visiting visa. The ECO didn't have any other reason than to say I have some unexplained deposit in my savings account and that it wasn't added to my monthly income, as such he wasn't sure if the money belong to me and wasn't sure I will come back.
I didn't add the monthly deposit in that account to my monthly income because what goes in there isn't fixed and because it's not my salary account (current account), I only added that account statement because I planned to use some of the money in that account for my trip. am on a salary of N100,070 after tax. But sometimes during weekends, am involved in hall decorations and baking. that's what the savings account is for.
I had N800k in my account when I applied and filled that am using 700k for my trip and shopping, am staying with my cousin who is inviting me and he is also taking care of feeding.
my question is what should I add as I plan to apply late January as against Easter. can I provide receipt issued for the moneys paid into that account, can I write a covering letter explaining what the account is for, also can I add my children birth Certificates as one of my strong ties to return, Pls what should I do.
thank you Your application was poorly presented and leaving the ECO with little choice than to refuse you a visa, if you reapplied again another ECO will treat your application and i will be surprised if you are given a visa. Yes you cousin will be feeding and taking care of you while you are in the UK but your tie to Nigeria is not very strong considering your salary and as a family man. You have N800k in your account which is about a year of your salaries and you are planning to spend N700K out of it in less than a month? That is you spending 7months of your salary in just 2-3wks. If your decorations and baking business are bringing in a good steady income monthly to supplement your salary then i will advice you to reapply and add those receipts and your kid birth certificate else i wouldn't reapply if i'm in your position. |

AdimO1: Hi guys.. @justwise @foreveryours201 and all Nairalnders, just a little tip from my experience. I have been invited to the uk for 3yrs now by my partners mum, and i always get the visa, and remember i said i will be applying for settlement visa in February. So 2weeks ago i made a visit visa application to visit my partner (now wife) in the uk for 11days. But i was refused cos of a flimsy excuse. The visa officer said my bank statement wasn't translated to english from german hence he cannot determine my financial position, for that he is refusing me visiting visa.
This sounds ludicrous cos it's thesame bank statement i have been using to apply for visa all these while and never been refused, until i said i was being invited by my partner and submitted proof of our relationship. I have never heard before that a bank statement should be translated. Lol
But i guess they looking for excuse cos it's my partner inviting me, hence they feel i will not leave the uk. Despite submitting all required docs that shie my ties to germany. But i feel it's a stupid excuse.
Thinking of sending them an email about this... Then chill and apply for settlement visa in February cos i only did this visit visa because i wanted to celebrate christmas with the family.
Also note all my applications to uk, i always say i will be in the uk for 2weeks, but i never stayed more than 1week, cos i ve got a lot to do (biz n study), so my immigration history is perfect. What do you guys think was the real reason ?
Thanks Sorry that this is coming late.. Actually you needed to translate any doc that is not written in English language when applying for visa, they may have overlooked it before but its a normal practice. |

We did explain the commission being paid, the farmland, my trainings and uber business in the additional information space provided. damidamsel: Long post alert........sorry but need to be detailed for clarification
Hi All, please i need your advise. So my hubby and I (baby has us passport so didnt need it) applied for UK visa with hubby as the sponsor on 21st Nov 2016 and got our passport back with a refusal after 12working days. The ONLY reason the Eco stated on each of our applications was that we did not show proof of income and our deposits were not regular which i believe he came to this conclusion because he didn't go through the docs well. This is our case:
My hubby earns abt 300k after tax monthly - this was evidenced by payslip, bank statement, promotion letter and introduction letter He earns commission from client deals - the inflows shows in the bank statement and is not a one time lump sum, it has always been that way. His promotion and introduction letter also states he is on salary plus commission (however we did not highlight any of these on the bank statement) He owns a 1acre farm and included the DOA for the land but no income was evidenced in the bank statement as no income came in during that 6month bank statement period) The ECOs claim of income not being regular baffles me because his salary shows in there but everyone knows commission can never be regular
I am self employed (run a career development organization) which just began trainings in October. I attached my cac reg, tax receipt, my e-tcc card, company bank statement and personal bank statement. I also run a uber business My company income was evidenced in the bank statement but unlike salary, cannot be regular as it depends on the number of trainings done. I even reduced the income by claiming income once every two months whereas i did a training in Oct and another in Nov For the uber, i included the car docs, drivers agreement, uber invoices printed off the uber platform and the incomes show in the bank statement as uber remits and the driver remits with his name. With the uber also, though there is a standard pay expected, it cannot be seen as one sum because it is always a split between uber and the driver (With these too, we did not highlight the incomes on the bank statement for easy detection)
We planned to travel on the 21st of Dec for a one week visit and budgeted £3k whereas we had abt 3m besides the funds in my biz acct and my savings. We initially wanted to reapply immediately (and highlight the bank statements and include another cover letter detailing the income) but could get no date with enough time before our travel date and priority service would have cost us abt 370k. We did not choose priority service because we did not want to look desperate paying 340k for a visa just for 7days visit. Now we intend to reapply by end of January, if not for anything but to clear the doubt on ground, but probably also to visit during Easter or stopover on our trip to the US. My question is: What could we have done differently to prove these incomes? What can we add to the next application to make it succesful
Thanks in anticipation of your responses Please can you list those documents you submitted? I think if you had explained in details as you did here the outcome could have been different |

Does it mean I can't sponsor her because she is a teacher and earn less money? Even though I stated that I was paying the whole travel expenses and have already given her the money which has been in her account since October and I declared it as it was a transfer from my Nigerian account.
Here is the refusal letter. In this occasion unfortunately you can't sponsor your sister, she need to be to sponsor herself. She is not earning enough to have a strong tie to Nigeria. |

Eastner: Hello House, your advice and expert opinion is needed. I intend traveling to the UK with our child early next year to visit my husband (British citizen). Our child was born in Lagos and we applied for and got his British passport here in Lagos. I've been working in the same company for 10years now (even before i got married) and the salary was just reviewed in September, to 210k after tax,but i'm currently paying off a loan of 50,000 naira. (brings it to 160k). I receive 5,000 naira monthly as balance from phone credit top-up (so,rather than top up with 15,000.the company tops up my phone with 10,000 and credits my account with the remaining 5,000 balance and it's not included in payslip). Periodically, i also receive bonus and also just received my 13th month salary. My monthly expenses is 50,000 naira except on occasions where i've had to carry out some projects. My husband sends money via western union monthly too and this varies depending on expenses and what not(could be as low as 51,000 and as high as 300,000 naira , 3 times in a month). I intend sponsoring the trip and my husband will be providing the accommodation alone. I intend submitting my salary account for the application. These are the documents I'm thinking of submitting:
1. Employment Letter 2. Letter of Introduction From My boss stating how long I've been working,my role, that my leave has been approved and i'm to resume after. 3. 6months salary account bank statement/Covering letter 4. 6 months pay slip 5. Tax Card 6. Pensions Account Statement/Covering Letter 7. Shares Certificate 8. Land Documents 9. Utility Bill 10. Marriage Certificate/Evidence of Change of Name 11. Evidence of Additional source of Income (Western Union) 12. Wedding & Family Pictures
For Our Child 1. Birth Certificate 2. British Passport Bio-data 3. School 1st Term Results 4. Pictures of Son in School 5. Letter of Acknowledgement/confirmation from School Head.
From My Husband 1. British Passport Bio-data 2. Letter of Invitation and Consent 3. Employment Letter 4. 6 months Salary Account Statement 5. 6 months Pay slip 6. Tenancy Agreement 7. Utility Bill
Now, my questions are: A) When filling the budget breakdown such as ,'what is the cost of the trip to me personally as well as total cost'.. do i include the cost of flight and feeding for my son? Since he's visiting with me. But he doesn't need a visa. B) Since i'm including feeding as part of my budget, do i still need to submit my husband's statement of account? (It's not bouyant as he just returned from nigeria) C) How much do you think is feasibile for feeding for a mom and child for 2weeks. I was budgeting 135 pounds. D) Do i really need to add shopping? E) When asked if the purpose of travel is to visit the person i'll be staying with, the answer is YES, right? since the primary purpose isnt sight seeing. F) What the ties i can use to show that i will definately come back to nigeria since technically,my family members are my husband and son asides parents and inlaws in nigeria.
I'll be having 750,000 in the account i'm presenting and the budget is
Flight - 384,056 (Son and I) Feeding & Misc - 80,000 (Son and I)
G) Can you please assist with what i've listed so far. Thank you. A. yes you have to B. Yes C. That is a reasonable amount. D.No, its not part of visa requirements. E. Yes that is the correct answer. F. Your job and your kid's school. If you have evidence of money sent to your by your hubby add it, stuff like receipts or any paper work relating to western union money transaction. |
