careerwoman: I'm a medical student (600level) at the Premier University.. I think thats the only tie I have.. no job, no assets, in various student organisations if that can pass as my responsibilities. Moreover, this conference is an annual event. I went for the last edition this year which was in Rome. Next year's conference will be in Montreal.. It is a Model United Nations Conference for university students. That is your strongest selling point because you went and returned to your studies |

careerwoman: Hello everyone, this is the biggest forum so far in the travel section. Keep on with the good work .. Please, my enquiry is about visitor visa to Canada. I have a conference to attend in Montreal in mid March 2017. I want to know if it is still feasible to get the visa within this short time frame. Also, what visa office does one address their letter from sponsor to? I understand they have no visa office in Nigeria. what is the minimum amount that should be in my sponsor's account? I have started the online route already but I am having some challenges with completing my application. What general advice can you give me concerning visitor visa to Canada. I hope to hear from someone soon. Thank you. Success to all applicants on the forum.. Cheers
How do I get affordable but good flight deals to Canada. It's only a 10 day trip, I don't want to spend a fortune on flight ticket alone This is the right thread https://www.nairaland.com/2103860/canada-visit-tourist-visa-discussion |

AdimO1: Hello Nairalanders @justwise and others who did apply for settlement visa,.. I am Nigerian but live in Germany (3years 6months now) i have not been to naija for close to a year and my wife is british (she lives n work in uk. Started work in August 2nd 2016, after graduating from MedSchool in july 2016. her gross salary as a junior doctor is 30,000 pounds before tax.
Please my questions:
1. Do i need tuberculosis test (from the website it seems i don't, since i have been away from naija for more than a year now. Though i wana be sure). 2. Do i need to pay health surcharge. 3.Do i (and my sponsor /partner ) need to fill the sponsorship undertaking? 4. January 2017 will make it 6momths on her job, this is her 1st job and its full time, so are we qualified to apply in February/march 2017? 5. How long must we stay in our new apartment before we apply or it doesn't matter how long? 6. Lastly, if we qualified to apply in february/march is it possible to have p60 ( cos p60 is usually a tax year and she will be 7months on her job) or it's not compulsory to submit p60?
Your kind input / answers to my questions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks 1. No you don't 2. Yes you will since you are still holding Nigerian passport though if that is not the case you will know during the online application process 3. yes your wife needs to complete that. 4. If i were you personally i will make the application after April by then the p60 will be ready 5. It doesn't matter you can apply any time using the apartment. 6. Yes that is possible, she needs to speak to her HR depart to make one available |

Chrisbam: Good morning house, Pls to the pros on this, I need ur help on what to do.
My mom age 63 living with my dad(retired) was invited by my brother, British citizen in UK for the Christmas/holidays. She had been on same type of visit to the uk twice before now on 2007 and 2010.
She applied in 2014 but was refused because she didn't indicate savings and properties etc.
She applied recently and was refused as seen in the letter. But most of the transactions credited in her acct are from money sent to her from UK by her son over there thru webpay agents.
Although this wasn't explained in her application form and also she didn't specify exactly how much she spends monthly on expenses, and I think this was an issue, she plans to reapply immediately so she can meet up with the holidays to see her grandkids.
She lives with my dad and I don't know how he can outline how she is been supported on a day to day basis by her family in his consent letter.
Pls whats the best thing to be done in this case, or she shouldn't bother to reapply considering the reasons in the refusal letter attached, thank you all, pls ur kind suggestions will help a long way. Support the source of the money in her account with paper evidence, money sent through webpay will have a record, if the money was transferred into her account there should be a record for that as well |

Dammysmart: okay thanks @just wise but pls permit me to ask this last question : Do I really need to upload my statement of account when my stay, accommodation and feeding would be fully funded? if yes, why That is your tie to Nigeria, its something that will persuade you to come back to Nigeria at the end of your visit, Getting a visiting visa or non-immigrant visa are in two parts. 1. The ability to finance your trip comfortably(Your sponsor has done this for you) 2. The ability to convince the embassy that you have something much better in Nigeria than living illegally in the UK. This is where your job, family, property or other investments come into play. |

Dammysmart: Yes, I will be welcomed back anytime i come back, but pls do you think I need a letter to substantiate this to increase my chances of being approved of the visa and if yes, would I upload it all at the visa office?? You need a letter from your school written with the school letterhead and stamped explaining all that and to state categorically that you will be coming back to your teaching job at the end. Yes the letter has to be uploaded AND also submitted physically together with other documents you have at the visa centre. You need to also attach your salary account and payslips for at least 6months |

Captgb: Sir I did not see any where in the form to upload the pictures and if you can please help out because I am about to submit a new application but I have done all the pics color photocopies.... So I will like to know where one need to upload those pics online in the form I guess that is a change that comes with the new form or EEA application form. Your refusal is not a difficult one to address since its just lack of pictures. Make sure that those pictures are dated originally and not superimposed on them. Pictures without date on them will be suspicious because its difficult to know when they were taken. |

marauka: Hello nairalanders,
Happy new month to everyone on this forum wishing you all the best.
I have a question bugging my mind. Can a spouse of a tier 4 (general student) apply for a dependent visa to join the spouse three months after the spouse travelled to uk for schooling? If yes,
Secondly, if while filling the tier 4 student visa, the applicant while filling the name of spouse, mistakenly filled his/ her own name, however attached a marriage certificate to prove that he/ she is married. Will this in any way affect the dependant spouse when applying for a dependant visa.
Note the spouse could not join initially due to work constraint but is free now to join the spouse. 1. Yes you can 2. Correct the mistake on the hard copy of the form before submitting. You can as well make a brief note of the mistake for the ECO and attach it to your application |
