Get an immigration lawyer in UK to write them there was an error of judgment, and i can tell you your inlaw will have her case review and granted her visa....Don't bungle her chances by doing things yourself.you have a solid and genuine case
Absolutely no need for immigration lawyer, waste of money in my opinion. A simple letter by the op is all that is needed here

Hello, My sister in law has just been refused a family visit visa to visit my family in the Uk, Myself and my wife are settled in the UK. The problem is the reason they gave for refusal is totally different from our circumstances. They talked about her visiting her twin brother which is not true. This mix up is crazy and i do not know what to do. Hope you can help, Thank you.
You need to contact the embassy immediately to explain that mixed up

Hi everyone

So I have some news to share,

as I recently advised that my Son was due to be born on 23rd December, well he decided to come early, and was born on 1st September at 5.10am, weighing just 1lb 4oz, he is in NICU and in the best hospital in the UK, doing very well.

I am still in shock and was in hospital for 3 nights, I had a natural labor, with no pain relief, no complications and i have named our son Jamal Abolore, since my MIL traveled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia on the day I went into labor so the name is perfect for him smiley

May God bless us on this long and rocky road, until my son can come home Amen x
Great news! Congratulations!!

I had submitted my application to the embassy since June, and my class was supposed to begin this week. Have not heard anything from the embassy of which I understand their delay in processing sometimes. I want to know what the outcome might be since classes have started already. I also want an advice if it's wise to change my choice of course to another since it current course is only done once in a year. Or can I defer to January choosing another course to start in January

Interesting topic. Justwise is 99 percent right. The only way to go about it is to register less courses and work in between. I do knw a lot of canadian citizens that take a year off and come back to school. Never heard of a foreign student doing that
What happens to remaining 1%? grin

Yes the students visa conditions requires that you must be actively pursuing you studies to maintain status but if you can take a paid internship for a year which is not part of the study requirements and return to complete the study it should be possible to defer your study for a year to work. The basic thing is if the school will approve it and of course you must maintain status by the time you are applying for study permit extension.

Also you can have financial challenges after you have obtain trv despite you provided evidence of millions available during you application cause situation can change anytime such as death of the sponsor or sudden financial disaster
That is the point IF the school approves it and you don't take internship without being an active student.

If you face financial challenges after getting your TRV then defer your admission because there is no point traveling to Canada without money just to break the immigration rule

Hello All

My neighbor and i have airline tickets, my neighbor to Singapore and then myself to kaduna. For unexpected reasons, we can not make the journey again due to unexpected landlord issues we must urgently sort out.

My neighbor has called etihad for a refund but was told he would get 150k out of a 450k ticket, which presently has a value of 600k.

As for me, no head way as calling my Nigerian airline (arik), they gave me the impression refund is not available.

My question is, can anyone with the experience explain to me how we can re-sell these ticket

You can't re-sell flight ticket you booked on your name.

..and getting a refund from the airlines is close to impossible, i learned the hard way recently.

Thanks for that section of your post, it annoys me when people start insulting members who have been here for years helping others without payment. justi4jesu for example was one of the very first members here to start Dubai thread 3yrs ago and to be honest even before i started part1 of this thread. I closed all Dubai threads and linked them to this one and justi4jesu was not happy and we never got along for sometimes...but justi4jesu stayed back despite all that to help out including helping ogakpatakpata when he was planning to move to Dubai.

She has been impersonated many times here and falsely accused of defrauding people but she still log on here to help 4yrs running.

monchouchou was another person who was very helpful here but somebody here possibly ogakpatakpata tried to get monchouchou and justi4jesu sacked by writing to their respective employers making false fraudulent allegations.

Its very clear to see somebody who is genuinely wants to help and those who are here for the money.

Gymme:
Rules are laid out for guidance not for hindrance-Gymme.

Thanks @Lawmerchant for the screenshot but if we critically analyze the instruction, we would realize that 'YOU MUST REMAIN ENROLLED' does not mean you can't go on Leave of Absence (LOA). It is just similar to an employee going on Study Leave or Vacation or any other Special Leave (does that mean such an employee is no more part of the company/organisation?).

REASONABLE AND TIMELY PROGRESS TOWARDS COMPLETING THE PROGRAM:

For you to be approved for LOA, you must state the reason (s) why you wanna go out of school and FOR HOW LONG. Getting money to pay for tuition is a common, normal and reasonable progress to complete the program.

'Their people' go off school to work for a while 'cos of money so why would they not allow international students that even pay more money as tuition?

In addition, a fellow Nigerian classmate got a job in a different city, Calgary (a paid internship that was not part of our Masters program and he already paid his tuition a year ahead), he simply took LOA and went for a year for the job, came back for 2 semesters to complete his Thesis and went back to continue is internship-turn-full-time job.
I'm sorry but all your analysis are wrong regarding this case.

1. You don't apply for leave of absent from your employer just before you even start working with them or a month or two after starting work.

The op wants to travel to Canada to work for a year to save up before starting her studies the next year, you don't do that as a foreign student.

2. You don't compare home students to foreign students, yes home students can suspend their studies and go backpacking but foreign students can't do that unless the school approves it or its part of their course.

3. Your friend has started his course and paid his school fees already before going for internship which was approved by the school but the op hasn't and does not even have the money to start with.

As a foreign student you can not travel to Canada to work for a while using financial difficulties as an excuse because during your study permit application you have provided bank statement showing millions of naira to take of your fees and expenses in Canada and that was one of the reasons why you were given a study permit.

So what happened to those millions you claimed that is available for your studies in Canada?

Alot of people think only racist or xenophobic people voted out, but my friend above is non of the two.
My workmate who is an African voted out, she own issue is with Polish workers. Many voted out thinking things will change immediately but the UK hasn't left the EU yet and will not leave at least till 2017 or 2018.

I can't stop laughing at some people..

Any reason why racist incidents suddenly increased just right after brexit? I thought some people just got too excited and they couldnt hide their racist tendencies.
I don't think it increased that much but brexit gave it an attention. Every incident between white and non-white is now linked to brexit.

shinarambo1:
True. The brexit just made some ignorant white people bold.

In my opinion, aslong as there are races mixing together, there would always be racists around. In all my time in Manchester, UK, i have only been told to go back to where i came from once. This is one occurence in 5years. Not bad at all.

In Canada, 5 years plus and not one occurence yet- another good record, but i have friends that have been told to go back to where they came from. Even a patient won't let a doctor friend attend to him cos he is black. i presently live and work in a red neck town, and i was even advised by whites not to move there cos of racist people, but 1year here already and nothing of such nature. That doesnt mean there are not racist people here, most likely they are not bold enough to confront me. some of my work colleagues even have the US confederate flag on their cars, that gives me an insight into their minds.lol

when people ask me if the Uk is racist, i usually say it depends. Same as canada. People's experiences differ.

i read this vice article some weeks ago about a black canadian girl's experience in london, ontario. ontario is the most culturally diversified province in canada.
Actually that is not entirely true, Asians and blacks voted for brexit in thousands. Cities like Luton and Bradford all voted for exit and check the demographic of those cities to see the make up.

I presently have a valid UK visa which country expires on the 4th of October.
However, I have a course and an exam slated for mid-November.(the course starts last week of September and extends to the middle of November, right before the exam and my visa will have expired by then).
can I apply for an extension of the visa? or do I have to apply for another one?

Hello everyone,
My brother had issue with UK the last time he travelled there in 2012. He had travelled twice or three before the last issued visa. He was given a multiple entry family visiting visa. He travelled alone but when he got there he said he came for business trip which contracted the purpose visa was issued on. He was deported and the visa was cancelled with a pen.
He later applied to USA in 2013 and was denied after seeing what UK did on his passport. He was told to resolve his issue with UK and then re-apply.

Now the passport had expired last year, how can he go about it if he want to apply to USA again? Also, is there a way he can clear his self with UK? Maybe a letter from them. It was only that very visa that was cancelled and if he applied to UK again he may be issue another, but what can be done to apply for USA again without them making reference to the first reason. What can he do? Please, someone should advise.
He needs to do sort that out first before applying to US embassy again because they still have his record.

I don't think he will be able to get any letter from the British embassy clearing that up.

If he has the requirement to apply again he can do that and explain what happened that lead to deportation.

Please, I need help with a couple of matters.

1. When writing an invitation/sponsorship letter in support of a visa application at Ikeja, what is the correct address to use. I only have the VI address.

2.My intending guest seems to be in a situation akin to 'self-employment' (no company), where the income varies from month to month. How will monthly income be stated on the application form, seeing as the amounts are not the same every month? Will an average figure over a period suffice? e.g, total of figures over 6 months divided by 6? or the figure from the latest month?

3.There is also the matter of money from family/friends coming into the account monthly but not regular/fixed amounts. Should one use an average figure or the figure from the latest month?

Thanks in advance!
1. The embassy address.

2. That is the best you can do under that circumstance.

3. Source of that money need to be explained.
