@OP, you were denied/ not eligible simply because you have no " travel history".

You've never taken a holiday before, it's strange you suddenly want to travel to us.

Before you re-apply next time, build a travel history. Start by going to places like Ghana, Kenya, Dubai or even SA for vacation.

It's quite difficult to get US, UK or Schengen visa with a virgin passport if you are below 40.
That is the only country that could help his travel history in that list....the rest will not.

Travel history is not really a big deal....nobody is born with travel history...there is always a first timer.

This is my experience at US embassy in Lagos today. At window 1
VO: where are u going in Us
Response: am going to Chicago in illinios
VO: what are you going there for
Response: I want to visit ny cousin over there.
VO:how long are u staying there
Response: just for 2 weeks
VO: what do u do heere
Response: I work as a manager in a cleaning compaany
VO: how much do u earn
Response: 180k afta tax
VO: Are you married?
Response: Yes with a kid.
VO: have you travelled before?
Response: No.
VO: Put your fingerprint there.
VO: Thank you for coming you can re-apply some other time. Take this paper and read it thank you.
Response: thank you
You are denied because:

You are married with a kid, earning 180k a month and ready to spend more than that in two weeks just to visit your cousin.

The reason for spending that much in just two weeks does not make any sense.

What?
you are just reaffirming something I've had in me that some girls are dumbskull.
So he doesn't have an invitation letter b4 applying for a visa? So he wouldn't have shown them or they wouldn't have seen his invitation b4 asking those questions?
Probably he's going there on his own which shld be hotel reservation, why involve his cousin. The guy's way is not pure sef.

@Op, I strongly feel the cleaning job messed everything up, hard to believe a cleaning company will pay up to 180K in this present Nigeria.

BTW, go out and cast ur votes.

#BUHARI
Bro i have to disagree with you.

OtunbaFestus:
The simple truth of your refusal are just two reasons.
1, You've never travelled of out Nigeria before and wish to go on a twelve hrs journey to meet your cousin for two weeks holiday. Obudu cattle ranch is close by and its better than the long distance.
2, You are married with a kid and you want to leave them behind, its obvious your intent is to go without returning.
You are wrong.

lmao! eyha! sorry swiri.
countries like usa, canada, london, spain etc hardly accept nigerians.
tip: nxt time u wanna apply 4 visa again, tell ur cousin over there 2 send an invitation letter. if u get it and show the visa ppl, ur chances of getting visa are higher wink
If London is a country...what is the capital?

Your advice about getting IV will not help the op and that was not why he was refused.

Thanks for your response. I really have to change something...which can I change without raising eyebrows.

I Intend to travel later than April. Okay?
I intend to book a different hotel.okay?
I intend to stay a little while longer since my itinerary involves visiting certain other cities in the UK.?

Which can I change? Which should I not? Just a suggestion. I cant stick to all without flexibility. Any two I can change will do.

Note:I have my visa already.its a multiple entry visit visa. I stated in my visa form,I will depart on the 3rd of April and return after a week.but noted now it's not enough for me to really see all the locations I need to.used a certain hotel booking which may have to be changed depending on the above.

Thanks for your suggestion.
Nothing wrong with changing hotel as long as it's within the city you are visiting first.

Staying longer than initially stated in your application form is not always a good idea unless you have a very good reason for that, that is what you need to explain at the POE or when renewing your visa.

Hello everyone, thanks for your contributions. I just got my visa but have some questions.

If I change my hotel before traveling by making a different booking or not making any booking at all, will it cause any issues at point of entry? I will have enough funds on me to show.

I also mentioned I will be departing Nigeria on the third of April, if I leave earlier or later, will it be a problem during my trip and next application.

Also if I add a few more weeks to my holiday ,as I plan to visit Scotland,Ireland too.will it be an issue?

Thanks for your response.
That is a lot of changes, stick to your original plan to avoid visa cancellation at the POE.

Hello Nairalanders,

I applied for a UK visiting visa for my mother and listed I was her dependent and will be travelling with her. If the visa is granted, do we have to travel on the same date seeing as I am dependent of hers or can I meet up with her. I need to know cos her travel date is not favourable with my intended leave date...or do I just apply on my own...
You may have a lot of questions to answer at POE if you traveled differently

Hello Guy,
Please I need some head ups on this subject matter. few weeks ago I applied for USA green card lottery knowing fully well that Nigeria is not eligible for USAGL. But today I got this. Congratulations My Name, you are eligible for a U.S. Green Card.
Dear my name,

Every year, the U.S. Department of State awards 55,000 immigrant visas (also known as green cards) to individuals around the world. This program, the Green Card Lottery, is open only during the month of October, but our service allows you to apply anytime during the year. You complete your entry online and provide your passport style photo whenever it is convenient for you and we take care of the rest.

It is important that you provide your passport style photo as soon as possible — and before October 1, to make sure our experts have enough time to review them and ensure your photo is compliant.

Whether it's going to university at a discounted rate, working your dream job, or even starting your own business, it's all possible with a U.S. Green Card. Apply now to the USA Green Card Lottery to ensure your application is filed for you on time!

Excuse me, but dishonesty and lack of integrity is certainly not the biggest problems is facing as a country
Those are human traits....not a national attribute
Peopl lie in heaven- UK and paradise- America too

Read SAPS, colonisation, capitalism, slave trade, indirect rule
...and therein lie the problem

We must all begin to love, or learn to love our land
It must come with some history and not that which the colonial masters taught....beyond and above that
We would learn what should be fixed, so that we can soar

I have become too preachy here

I will stop now!
What have you been smoking lately? grin

What's the point of this your unnecessary gospel? How do you know I'm a Nigerian? You've even capped it up with a Judgemental attitude. You missed the whole point and There's really nothing to confabulate with you and yea, the Brits are very unfair for such actions towards him. Farewell mr perfectionist!

Justwise I give advise based on d experience of pple I kno av given birth in canada. I clearly stated "apply when u r not pregnant" I did not say apply when u r pregnant. If someone is not pregnant and apply for d visa, should d person state reason for application is childbirth?
Get visiting visa and travel to Canada, get pregnant there and live for 9 months to get Canadian citizen?
