Janyves: @ age 35, that's not the way it should be.... Anyways if you believe in God, I will refer you to my mum (she's a pastor and prophetess) and resides in lagos. Send me a mail if you wish to seek divine intervention. CHEERS Yes...so as to milk her dry and blame one member of her family for her not getting married? I'm guessing that everything is working just fine in your family? |

abujaniv: Hello Nairalanders,
VO here. We are continuing to see people appear at the Embassy and Consulate for an interview with DS-160 information that differs from their appointment confirmation. This is a friendly reminder that:
• The DS-160 non-immigrant visa application confirmation number used to schedule visa interviews must match the application confirmation page that is brought to the interview. Applicants who do not meet these criteria will not be interviewed and will have to purchase a new fee receipt to book another appointment. This includes families – make sure that the DS-160 information matches the appointment information for every family member, even young children.
• Full instructions on how to make an appointment for a non-immigrant visa interview are available on our website: http://nigeria.usembassy.gov.
• Applicants with existing appointments should contact the CGI Call Center at +234 0144 06218 to make any necessary changes.
We believe this change will make application processing faster and more efficient, and we thank you for your attention.

andyanders: Something is wrong somewhere.Knew of someone with similar problem. She is an MBA holder, had no job, and no man ever has asked her out.She was just in their house selling soft drinks, cookies and candies and stuffs like.Until she went to a church where a friend took her and it was there it was revealed to her that her face was exchanged with an old woman's face and her certificate buried spiritually. She was prayed for and delivered as she went through deliverance. Same week, a job she applied for and forgotten for years she was in her house when they came to deliver a letter of appointment and that was an oil company. She was given a car and an official accommodation and within same period, in less than 3 months, she got wedded and a year later was blessed with twins. After two yrs, she gave birth to another set of twins.
Something is wrong and your friend should find a solution which is to get the problem responsible out of her life. It is spiritual.
I know that some people would come here to now counter the spiritual issue but, I stand to tell you that I know that something is wrong as I am aware of this person's issue and would not want to mention her name here.Things are real and only God can save us from certain issues beyond ordinary. I can't believe that people still believe in nonsense like this. |

My fiancee is calabar and am from a totally different tribe yet he has all that I want in a man so it puzzles me when I see people being tribalistic on marriage

Triax: Hi everybody. I have been a silent follower of this thread for a while now and must say I have benefited immensely as a result. This thread should be officially labeled the “Holy Grail” for all US bound expecting parents. The amount of information is simply mind boggling.
It will be sinful for me to ask my question without first saluting all the active members of this forum who have contributed to this thread either by sharing their personal experiences (VO, POE, airline, hospital etc), offered advice and guidance to the confused (like yours truly), shared contacts details of critical resources (doctors, hospitals) etc. I doff my hat to you all!!
That said, I need you advice on a dicey matter. My wife was granted a 2 year B1/B2 visa in April 2013 on the basis that she was accompanying me for a business trip. During her interview, the VO asked if she was pregnant and she replied that she wasn't which was true. We traveled as planned in July last year and spent 3 weeks. She eventually got pregnant in August and is due mid May 2015. She plans to travel for childbirth towards the end of March. Her visa will be expiring on the 14th of April 2015 (about 3 wks after her arrival).
My question is this, should she? A. Travel using her current visa. B. Renew her visa before traveling
According to the information on the UStraveldocs website, she should be able to travel with her current visa though it will be expiring shortly afterwards. However, I am a bit nervous about this because I fear a heartless CBP officer might capitalize on this as a basis to refuse her entry.
On the other hand, I am skeptical about renewing her visa before she travels as I do not want to rock the boat. Even though the probability of a denial is low, there is always a possibility it might happen. Some members have experienced this before and shared on this forum
I seriously need to know your opinions/advice on our dilemma. Please forgive my long post. God bless She can travel with her current visa, the stamp at the POE is what matters and not the 3 weeks left on her current visa. |

GeneralShepherd: At least it's not an official government policy.
UK government hates immigrants. It will be better to have govt policy on immigration than getting it from random citizens on the street or work place. Hate immigrants? No they don't, harsh immigration policy? Yes but not hate. |

GeneralShepherd: UAE is horrible especially to unskilled workers.
Singapore is actually better than UK in terms of immigration Does Singapore have a problem with xenophobia? It seems that barely a month goes by these days without news reports highlighting friction between Singaporeans and foreign workers in the tiny, multi-ethnic city-state.
The population has increased dramatically in recent decades thanks to an influx of foreigners, who now make up around two out of five residents. This has put a growing strain on jobs, housing and infrastructure, and raised fears about the dilution of the Singaporean national identity.
It has also—predictably—resulted in an angry backlash, with many taking to social media to disparage foreign workers, from highly paid “foreign talent” to heavily exploited laborers from China and the Indian sub-continent. http://thediplomat.com/2014/02/singapores-foreigner-problem/ |

GeneralShepherd: No, I have always been looking towards UAE and singapore because my target industry has more presence there, but then listen to UKIP, Theresa May etc. They absolutely hate students and foreigners.
Election is around the corner and immigration takes the centre stage, its the same in every EU country not just the UK. You think UAE or Singapore will fair better than the UK in terms of attitude towards immigration? |

GeneralShepherd: Not really, the education is wonderful but I should have gone to the US or Canada, they are more friendly to aliens.
Imagine Theresa May wants to even take away the six months extra on tier 4 visass. Hmmm not sure about that but I think sometimes we expect too much from host the country |
