princessmoi: Justwise, a cousin of mine is currently in the UK for studies she went with a tier 4 student visa. Her parents once lived there some years ago till she was born in 86 but they later came back when she was around 2-3yrs old. She couldn't get her passport then cuz the rule then was, either your parents are UK citizens or the child lives there for 5yrs though she has her original UK birth certificate. She now wants to apply for her British passport do you think she can? How can she go about it plus what documents does she need to provide? Please advice justwise thanks.
She can't, neither of her parents are British and she did not live in the UK for 5yrs as the rule stipulated then, so she doesn't qualify for British passport.

jennykadry: He said he had some money with him already he came into the country with. I also think he did not buy a brand new car. It could be a car within the range of 2-5k. Not a big deal. Students do it a lot here
That makes a lot of sense.

Billionaire001: @ferdimako.....sorry I havent had time to update on bunbury..ECU....
Its all good here,my honest opinion is do your best to be here,be sincere, trust God and be hardworking..l got in here with aunty Jenny write up..I didn't know anyone, but to God be the glory,I have only been here for 4weeks,I have a job,a car and can still pay my rent of $150/week.And still meet up excellently in studies..like Jenny will say!regional areas are fertile ground for settling for studies..but seek Gods direction because there is a Canaan land for different individual
For the question about the lucrative side of community services studies some one asked,..the answer is YES...its lucrative, you have a good propect for job.
Post your question,I will do my best to reply at weekend.
All that with the money you worked and saved in that 4wks?

Story like this make people back home take silly decisions to leave Nigeria

Don Oms: Mail your school early Monday morning (2nd Sept) and request for an extension in your possible resumption date. Tell them to include this information in your new CAS which will show you have paid full tuition. You should get your CAS before Thursday (5th Sept) & you can make an application that same day or Friday & get an appointment for sometime between 9-13th Sept (Pick Abuja even if it is far from your house). If your school gives grace till 1st week in October, I believe you'll get your visa before that time & go for your studies. If for any reason this plan doesn't work (I'm confident it will work though), be patient and defer till January. All the best bro.
You got your answer here ^^^^ i don't like giving a contrarily view when people have given valid advice.

youngbilly1: hi everyone am a first time traveller to sa, i have my yellow card, visa and ticket ready, i wanna go see my friend over there in Johannesburg and stay with him for a month n back to naija, i was told i will be asked for an hotel reservation or an invitation letter at arrival in OR Tambo. pls i wanna ask if i can just make up an invitation letter or hotel reservation, but my second thought is what if they say they wanna call the hotel to confirm my reservation. what can i do? i googled some hotel they had this option of when you make reservation you can cancel it later.

thanks
If you are truly going to visit your friend then why not get the invitation letter from him? How did you get a visa without invitation letter or evidence of accommodation?

eminado: I am a new member in this forum and recent events with my visa application has created huge problems for me. My visa application was refused yesterday 30th august because i mistakenly omitted my ielts certificate. I immediately requested a new CAS from my school {i was given full tuition scholarhsip} and re-applied and my appointment date is 2nd september. Now the problem is that my course start date is for 9th September and i dont know if this would affect the ECO's decision. Also on the CAS just normal information was detailed like the previous one i used, however i sent a mail to the school concerning my resumption and im waiting for their reply. huh :'
Ask your school for 2wks extension and email it to BHC and take a copy to your appointment

No, your account will not be monitored, its your money, you can spend it all clubbing or shopping, nobody cares what you do with that money.

wolske: Hi Justwise and other nairalanders. Please, can one withdraw some money from one's account after visa has been granted? I need to book my flight, but i'm confused as to whether i can withdraw from that account to book my flight even after obtaining one's visa. Somebody told me that the UKBA continues to monitor the account till you get to the uk. How true is this? Justwise, please your advice?

In addition, wjhat are the documents that would be asked for at the point of entry? Is it true that a yellow fever immunization is a requirement for entry?
Sure you can withdraw some money for your flight, they don't monitor your account until you get to the UK, the 7200 pounds is your money to use in the UK, whatever you do with it is your business

You don't need any yellow fever, if at all you need one it will be carried out at the POE, i doubt UKBA will trust any yellow fever paper you brought from Nigeria since we are good at forging anything.

Hold your CAS letter, bank statement (the one you submitted during visa application) in case you are asked.
is it safe to use parents account as sponsor?
If you are using your parents account then they are your sponsor and there is nothing wrong with that.
Thanks for the swift reply... 1. can parents use more than one bank statement. 2. what documents can one's parents submit along with other documents.
Your parents can use more than one account as long as the two accounts are in their names and contains the required amount of money.

They can give you a letter permitting you to use their account (Letter of consent)
