Thanks so much daisyjo. I'm still keeping my good eye on him. In the 3 months or so since I made my post, he has improved in some ways. The head banging has stopped (phew), still not talking but he repeats words after us. I take this as a good sign. He still can't express himself. He could bring his cup or biscuit to show what he wants. Most times he just screams continuously and we're left to figure out what his issue is. As for the potty training, he's as good as trained. He doesn't come to tell me he's pressed, he usually goes on his own and does his thing ![]() His sppech range still isn't up to his peers but I've notices improvements. |
Yeah breastmilk is important, but some babies over indulge in it. Your baby sounds exactly another I heard of. His mother was fed up cos he was always crying and losing too much weight. At abt 10 mos they had to stop breastfeeding. It was difficult cos he cried a lot. Afterwards he started eatin everything they give him. Even his mama tire sef . Its not gonna be easy but it may be time to stop b/feeding her. You've been at this for months now, you've really tried. |
@ tjskii, babies no ne beans o, I'm also considering the implant. The one I'm currently using is noristerat injection, so far no weight gain or mood swings. Only thin is I've seen my period only once in the 2 months since I started. The doc took his time to ecpalin d possible side effect of hormonal contraception. I don't like the idea of renewing d injection every 2 mos, best get a longer term one @hummingbird heard of a similar scary story where IUD was wrongly inserted in a poor lady. It led to cervical cancer and she eventually passed away. So you're right we need to be careful when considering contrapcetives. @itsmelex. Similar thing happened to M̶̲̅ε̲̣ when my boy was teething at 9mos. He refused d b/milk. I was in so much pain for abt 3 days. Just when I was heaving a sigh of relief, this boys started demanding his property muyjk$ore than ever, I went to overflowing boobies to completely drained. So still dey observe him o . Rily enjoying d thread, keep it up mamas ![]() |
Hope Ogbeni Aregbe will give female civil servants 6 yrs maternity leave so they can stay home and take care of their kids. Just come out and say d state can not afford to pay kids' kindergarten fees rather than hide under unreasonable excuses. |
Teenaba: Shocked that no one knows the story. She is a mechanic. Got married and had that child. The story went viral some two years ago. There are pics of her, her son and hubby shopping. She is happily married and not a beggar. The OP took just that photo in a bid to create a post. And the posters above have said not too nice things. She is a legless woman that found love. And may I add, her hubby is gorgeous!!!!!!!!Come take e-hi five jare. She's an incredibly strong woman born with a congenital disorder. Her hubby is toooo gorgeous and she has a daughter as well. Sadly 2 pregnancies had taken a toll on her body and she can't have anymore kids. |
Hmmm. Lemme see. My maiden name, address, some degree of freedom (not that I was an outgoing person), the ability to watch tv all night long (in fact general interest in tv, hardly watch it these days), living space, had to port from a big comfy duplex to a tiny 2 b/r flat :-/ On the other hand I gained A loving caring man A cosy, happy albeit small home 2 wonderful, beautiful, amazing, heart warming( could go on forever...) Kids ![]() The ability to be s queen of my small home. I run tins my way ![]() A renowned sense of responsibility Also a few lbs due to childbirth ![]() |
Abeg this is too funny . Their case should be used as case study in sex ed classes. Teenage pregnancy is becoming an epidemic all over the world. Gone where d days when they were stigmatised. Now with MTV shows like 16 and pregnant, they're being celebrated :/ Btw who declares a 1.3kg baby fit to be discharged Ya Allah. Give me the wisdom to be a good mum and role model for my kids. |
@fearless That's because people feel plates and spoons are easier to wash ans sterilise compared to the bottle where the teat can get easily contaminated if not sterilised properly. I went from EBF to using plates and spoon for my son, with my daughter, I have a nanny now cos of my job. She uses feeding bottle for her though I protested against it. Also all she gives my 8mo old baby is pap and milk even though I told her I want her taking other things like semo/ewedu, beans and so on. My purity jars are all left untouched except I feed them to her during d weekend . In short ehn there's nothing like a mum watching after her kid o. |
fearless07: Hello mothers in the house. I just stumbled on this forum and am learning a lot. I am panicking right now because of what I just read here concerning immunization. My son is 12 weeks old and he wasn't given the rotavirus and pneumoccal (pcv) vaccine. We would be going for his next immunization in 2 weeks time and I want to know if its late for him to be given these vaccines? I feel I have been a bad mum by not finding out about this.Sorry no one anwered on time. U can take d child in for rotavirus and pcv on his next appt. U can't get it frm gen hosps only a few private one have it. Rotavirus is 6500 while pneumococcal conjugate is 7k in my hosp. They aren't covered by HMO either. All d best |
Royal Roy: Welcome Mrs. k4Kenny Atobs. So you're a kenny too. Saw d twin thread u started a while back. Got M̶̲̅ε̲̣ rotfl . Being an identical twin can be fun but so darn annoying sometimes. And I won't mind having a kenny jnr sometime ![]() |
Hi all. Nice thread btw. Its about time the family section had a chat room of sorts, at least an escape from some kain family drama ![]() About M̶̲̅ε̲̣ From my handle I'm Kehinde A. Late 20s happily married with 2 kids ![]() I've been a nairalander almost from the onset, but hardly post. My twin sis is wayyyy more active than M̶̲̅ε̲̣ tho I introduced her to d site back in '06 ![]() Fav food is yam is any form, boiled fried roasted, pounded....... Don't know if I have a hobby, my life for d past coupla years has been mostly indoors taking care of kids/home, so I guess reading and watching tv r my ways to unwind (wish I can be more outdoorsy :-{ ˚☺k°, that shud be all for now Thumbs up ![]() |

Neeky1: Why? Why? Why did I open this thread,I'm pregnant and I've spent the last hour or so reading from the 1st page,I can't remember when last I cried this much,I'm so scared and worried almost every story is depressing.Don't be scared my dear. True, childbirth isn't a walk in d park, but you'll survive it and come out as a stronger woman that can overcome anythinh . I had both my babies here in Nigeria in a private hospital and have no complaints or complications. So did my sisters, friends etc. Don't let d few bad experiences scare you. Just take care of u and the baby, before u know it, all this will be in d past and you'll be a proud mum of a healthy baby. Follow this thread : www.nairaland.com/889053/pregnancy-pregnant-going-through-high and join fellow mamas like u in d chatroom |
Looking like the end of d road of our boys . But seriously, which pea brained organiser thought it'll be a good idea for a team to play 2 matches in 2 days? Oh well..... |

Salam. Was about to open the same thread when I saw this one. Its truly heartbreaking to see this. I'll most definitely see what I can spare in his cause in shaa Allah. Hope the ummah in the house will follow suit. [b]Yussuf Ajao AbdulRasheed Bank: GTBank Acct. no: 0119863757[\b] |
Kemi Adetiba as in former studio 53 reporter and music video director? This chick doesn't look like her o. The kemi I know does look abit like Gabrielle. Pics of her can be seen on this site: www.aprokocity.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/kemi-2.jpg |
Hello parents in the house. There has been lots of questions regarding baby food, I stumbled upon this thread in d food section. I bet it'll answer lots of our questions regarding baby food . @bunlizlaw Rotavirus isn't given in general hospitals, just private ones at an extra cost. My hospital costs 6500 for d vaccine and 7000 for pneumococcal conjugate. Other vaccines not offered in GH are chicken pox (12k at my hosp.) and yellow fever. That long queue at GH was too irritating for M̶̲̅ε̲̣ jare, had to switch to private |
I also don't know much about HMO services in PH, but I use PHB healthcare, I think they have a PH office. You can also go to d private hospitals and ask them about the HMOs that are patronising them. All d best! ![]() |
Getting you and your family enrolled into a good HMO plan sounds like your best bet. I'm not trying to discourage u, but pls be careful before making payments to someone u met online. Take ur time and ask around before making a decision. |
dollybird: ^^^soon enough you will see it, after another round of plastic surgery to make it look brandnew then she will come out to talk about how she was able to retain her looks by just eating right and exercising, she might even give a whole list of foodSoon mama Kris would get her a multi million dollar deal with weight watchers. Soon all we'll hear is how she lost d weight by taking so so product. Its all abt d benjamins with d kardashians. |
Beautiful kids. Isn't it ironic that extremely wealthy couples are ttc while the struggling ones are overwhelmed with multiple births. May God use these beautiful beings as a source of blessing to their struggling parents. Baba ibeta, oya e yoju o |
pretend to be asleep so that i could be ![]() ![]() . I Remember doing that as a kid. Also remember armfarts. Never got that right. ![]() |
Salam alaykum I don't think a student who is struggling to mk ends meet should be mandated to pay Zakat al ftri. My husbsnd usually pays to the central mosque on behalf of myself, kids and the security man, who we feed during Ramadan. My question though is, should I also pay since he has paid on my behalf as I'm also working. May Allah accept our Ibadah in this season and always. |
Gassong: copy pf d test or past question?...*confused*Not a copy of the test, I meant the dragnet past questions in pdf format. Wishing everyone success. |
,please send the past questions to me folayemi27@yahoo.com.thanks.
Got a copy of d test. I've forwarded it to u. Hope it isn't too late. Trino, check ur inbox as well. All d best. |
I don't think they numb d area in GH o, my friend had her baby there, no numbing. My hospital do episiotomy regardless of d size of d baby. My gal was just 2.7kg and they still did it on M̶̲̅ε̲̣. Thank God for cocaine injection ![]() |
slim05: Hi mothers, my 8 weeks old baby has not pooed in 2 days and he seems uncomfortable, what can I do please. You can put a little mentholatum on cotton bud and gently insert it in his bum for a split second. It always works for M̶̲̅ε̲̣. @Mcremad. Congrats again on ur boy. Have u guys heard of unripe pawpaw for jaundice. Its soakerd it water for a day and a few drops is given to d baby. Would have suggested the early morning sun , but the waether is too harsh right now. You may have to take him in for phototerapy if his bilurubin levels are still high. On gerber/purity foods, I've never mixed the jar food with milk or pap. Infact it think its written on some of the flavours that it shudnt be mixed with milk :/ Cheers all |
Congrats Tjskii and hummingbird!!! Wow 3 healthy baby boys, to God be d Glory . Olorun a wo gbogbo won po (amin)@hummingbird twin boys no easy o, was reading u thread in fam section, hope you're settled on who will come and stay with u during this period? God is ur strength. Side note: u go soon dey separate diff types of gidigbo(fights). Trust M̶̲̅ε̲̣, I'm talking from experience ![]() |
Salam alaykum. Hope the event was successful. Wish I could make it, but no time due to family obligations. Bro. Jarus and everyone involved, may Allah (swt) continue to increase your Iman. We need updates of d iftaar o. |
@wendy80. I've heard of d product. Gerber is great brand in baby products. I also bought some varieties for my son when he was 6 mos and he loved them all except d potato puree sha . |
Crazy sh!t. So she couldn't afford £16000 for a doctor to damage her spinal cord but she can afford the ensuing cost of living as a paraplegic Pray she witnesses a natural disaster, then she would see that it aint fun being disabled. |
