For goodness sake can't people be intelligent for once? Year of graduation is not same as year when convocation was held. The convocation date is January 2000. There is no way a student who graduates in 2000 will have his/her name in a covocation brochure for an event in Jan 2000. why not use the remaining money to buy her food, clothes ,drugs and provisions...something she can take every time and remember u in prayers anytime she uses them..

well if the children can afford it and comfortably take care of the mother...

@ OP As a sensitive and spiritually implicative issue as this, you decide that of all places on earth it is Nairaland you bring such matter to.
I hope you have observed that more than 60 percent of replies you got have only succeeded in insulting your church authority, christian discipline, even christianity as a whole. You have allowed atheists, freethinkers, muslims and liberals (who have no insight of Christianity, and full of what they profess) to massage your ego of valuing the chaff over the grain.
I mean that from your complaint you would rather prefer the influx of your invited guests to come and see you, to the intrinsic meaning of the dedication.
Whether it is done in the main sunday service or after it, it does not prevent the "acknowledgement of heaven" that your child was "brought before God" in his temple. Let me ask you. Is there a difference between a wedding conducted by the priest in the chapel with just 10 perons present, and that done in the main church building with seats fully occupied?
If it's the discipline of your church to do such, for Christ's sake please obey. I understand you are worried it's your first child. If you go to another church, and later if an usher orders you rudely when you are celebrating your 5th wedding anniversary in your new church, would you leave also?
Please make Jesus proud, by obeying. God bless you. |

Questions that need to be asked. How did she get pregnant? Where is the child's father, did he accept the pregnancy then? Who has been catering for the child, your GF or her parents? Have you met the child and parleyed with him? What's his character? Is he the obedient type? Are you willing to have your step-son as your first son, cos the mum will do everything to make sure it stays so. Are you the eldest son of your parents, if yes they will likely not want a step-grandson especially if your parents do not have one yet? Do you want to get married, or you want to get married to her?
The problem most times is not the mum, but the child who may turn out to be a thorn in your flesh and/or his biological father who may show face after you have raised him to manhood and come to fight to take his child, it would not be funny then.
I would ask you to speak with an elder in your kindred who you know has a good character and speaks objectively. Also talk to a trusted married elder in your church of mosque. Finally in the quite of your room and heart, ask the Lord our God to help you make the right choice and to stand for it, not minding whose ox is gored. |

He is there boasting of how the governor (foolishly) disarmed communities. Then to be overunn by armed herdsmen who disappear in the bushes and neighbouring states. Then the unarmed herdsmen move their cattle into the conquered places. The governor goes in and seeks for peace asking the natives to be kind to their trespassers and asks to let them graze. The cycle goes on and on. Meanwhile for reasons best known to him, he lets the Fulani terrosists to take piece by piece possession of those villages. By the time his people have all being killed he would have emirates all over his state. ORTOM WAKE UP AND ACT, A GRADUAL BUT WELL PLANNED GENOCIDE IS HAPPENING RIGHT YOUR EYES! What a sad thing going on before our very eyes! Why is Gov. Ortom so quite about this, is he glad his people are being wiped off by fulani armed men? What about the likes of Sen. David Mark, Suswan, they are just comfy sitting in Abuja I guess? It's an open secret that a genocide is being commited against the natives of Benue and our government is quite. A fulani jihad is going on and we pretend it's not! wakes: AN EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT OF THE UNTOLD TERROR, INSECURITY AND MASSACRE FACED BY BENUE COMMUNITIES OF MOON DISTRICT IN KWANDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, BENUE STATE. By: Ukan Kurugh The insecurity that has faced Benue State in recent times has raised a lot of questions that would deserve salient answers. Politics, religion, occupation and terrorism would be thoroughly beamed with a searchlight as to, attempting to uncover the mystery behind this affront to the dignity of the human person. But before this, the state seems to be loosing hope in the political leadership as daily, events unfold that seek to weaken the trust in the power of the sovereign. Equality is equity they say, yet Benue is being crippled and we are gradually embracing the Hobbean state of nature. There is an untold story of the pain of the Benue communities in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State sharing boundaries with parts of Taraba and Cameroon. The Anyiase, Imandeukusu, Imandedura and Anyamadi communities in the above named local government were sacked four years ago by Fulani herdsmen. People were killed, farms destroyed and houses burnt and the people all deserted the area. Just recently, the state government is urging people to return to the place. Unfortunately, the Fulanis are bent on acquiring the place against odds for its fertile and valley nature. There is a river flowing the district called Moon in which these communities are located and they are placed in between mountains, thus giving them an ever green coloration that is desiring for farming. Out of the 6 communities, the Fulanis have sacked the above mentioned 4 and are bent on eliminating the remaining 2 (Ityulugh and Injoor). However, these people without security backup have being putting up a resistance for far too long. Unfortunately, there is a conspiracy by the Army in nearby Taraba town of Takum who join forces with the Fulanis and some Jukuns to attack the Tiv people. The peoples cries through letters seems to have fallen on deaf ears and help does seem to be coming. They wrote the National Human Rights Commission in 2016 and since then, nothing has been done. Through the instrumentality of the Benue State Assembly Speaker, Terkimbi Ikyange, Channels TV covered the unfolding events and nothing has happened since then. They seemed to have been forgotten by the government. On Monday again, the Fulanis attacked these 2 communities in company of armed military men and some Jukuns, the communities again, without support put up a resistance and they (Fulanis) moved backwards to Kashimbila. As if that was not enough, yesterday again, they re-enforced and came back on the claim that, one of their men was missing and in the process destroyed houses and farmlands as well as properties. The villagers again pulled a last minute effort of their own which was not good enough. The entirety of the district, there is no policeman, no army officer, no security agency, no government establishment and nothing and the people have had to resort to fate. Due to the un-motorable nature of the road that leads to the communities, they came in about 5 army vans, parked them elsewhere and used bikes to these communities. This is even as the earlier mentioned communities have been occupied by the herdsmen. Now they want to completely eliminate the indigenes and then to take over and in the evening of the same yesterday, they again attacked on a claim that, a gun belonging to an army officer was missing. The people did not even know if this was true and therefore refuse them entry. As I write about the embattled communities sharing boundary with Taraba and Cameroon down to Jato-Aka, there is no security presence and the people have been abandoned to their fate. This is worst as, the army who should forestall peace and maintain order are the very ones, under heavy pay, aid Fulani hersdmen in attacking the now naked communities. There is a demand for justice and peace by all Nigerians of whatever tribe or sort. Benue communities should not, under circumstances be treated less. The government at the federal and state level must live up to the demand of protecting the lives and properties of the people, even as enshrined by the constitution. |

Which Army? The one that covertly gives cover to armed fulani fighters commiting genocide in Benue, and masquerading as oppressed herdsmen. I just hope the state assembly has the guts to impeach him for imcompetence and deriliction of duty. If this madness is allowed to continue for another 2 years, politicians in that state will be leading cattle, and mass graves. 9jakohai: State of emergency might just be what is needed....at least for the Army to root out the problem.

Well for your info Palestine was the name given to that area by the Romans when they conquered it. The British chose to call the land they mandated Palestine, and the Arabs picked it up as their nation's supposed ancient name, though they couldn't even pronounce it correctly and turned it into Falastin a fictional entity." — Golda Meir quoted by Sarah Honig, Jerusalem Post, 25 November 1995 Palestine has never existed . . . as an autonomous entity. There is no language known as Palestinian. There is no distinct Palestinian culture. There has never been a land known as Palestine governed by Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc. Keep in mind that the Arabs control 99.9 percent of the Middle East lands. Israel represents one-tenth of one percent of the landmass. But that's too much for the Arabs. They want it all. And that is ultimately what the fighting in Israel is about today . . . No matter how many land concessions the Israelis make, it will never be enough. — from "Myths of the Middle East", Joseph Farah, Arab-American editor and journalist, WorldNetDaily, 11 October 2000 How Did the Land of Israel Become "Palestine"? In the First Century CE, the Romans crushed the independent kingdom of Judea. After the failed rebellion of Bar Kokhba in the Second Century CE, the Roman Emperor Hadrian determined to wipe out the identity of Israel-Judah-Judea. Therefore, he took the name Palastina and imposed it on all the Land of Israel. At the same time, he changed the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitolina. The Romans killed many Jews and sold many more in slavery. Some of those who survived still alive and free left the devastated country, but there was never a complete abandonment of the Land. There was never a time when there were not Jews and Jewish communities, though the size and conditions of those communities fluctuated greatly. http://www.indaweb.com/oil/editorialopinion/tzemach.news.service01l.htmk9ine: Do you know how the name Palestine came about. Bethlehem is a Palestinian city with a Muslim majority and Christian minority population. The mayor is a Christian Arab.
Nazareth, though occupied by Israel is an Arab city with Muslims making up the majority.
Hebron also is a Palestinian city.
Jericho is also a Palestinian city.

Has anyone heard of fulani attacks in Ekiti again? obailala: What are these communities waiting for to even defend themselves?... What's the governor and chief security officer of this state doing to protect his people?.... How can a governor be so useless?...
