Regardless of Nato, Finland and Sweden are already under EU/Nato security umbrella. These two Nordic countries have been working with nato closely since like forever, and all their military equipment is Western.
So joining Nato has little relevance in the eyes of the Russians. It's like officially marrying a lady you've been forking for twenty years. lol
Also, I personally think Joining Nato was a foolish mistake. Too many decades of no war and prosperity and American propaganda have created new generations of weak leaders that don't understand power politics and sphere of influence.
Joining nato comes from the fear that Russia is on a journey to invade every one of its neighbors starting with Ukraine, meanwhile, since 2014, Russia has tried every possible means to resolve this crisis diplomatically, but the west refused.
They rather arm Ukraine to the teeth, grow their army to be Europe's seconds largest, and prepare for this very day, to fight the Russians. But blame Russia for protecting themselves.
And if a war between Russia and Nato ever breaks out, its a point of no return. And even though Finland may not be the cause of the war, they will have to partake in the consequence.
Why you no just keep quiet waka pass? Because Nairaland is full of blind, dumb heads while you seem to be their one eyed Humpty Dumpty. Read what you wrote again. I asked you few simple questions a while back, when you came out to dance naked here and you ran away forever. Now I bring those questions again to you , Nairaland’s lord of geopolitics;
The Warsaw Pact which was created by Soviet states 6 years after NATO was formed would have balanced the shades of military power in Europe and even globally.
1. So why did it die and NATO grew..,Why couldn’t the Warsaw Pact survive ? 2. Why are most parties to that agreement embracing NATO today? 3. Why is a neutral Finland and Sweden now lopsided in their military affiliations? 4. How can you relate your answer at #3 with your answers at #1 and #2
Now I’m even giving you some good dose of chance and respect to strike an enlightening conversation; Something I wouldn’t give to most of your blind followers here. I’m addressing you as their one eyed king. Step forward let’s discuss. Stop running away.
Poidade: Wetin dey special for this una NATO sef...
Just like EU. Wetin dey special wey be say even Turkey too don dey look for membership teytey. Bro, you know what? You’ll never understand what’s going on with these guys and you can never be in the best position to tell what’s good or not for them security wise. They tasted World War Two and One while you didn’t. So they definitely know what’s best for them. So relax.
Nazgul: A member of a church underwent a major operation, and his medical bill was N245,000. And he couldn't afford it.
His brother went to the Pastor on Sunday and told him to assist. The Pastor picked the microphone and told the church that our brother needs N245,000 to settle his medical bill.
Members began to donate.
After donations, what was realized was N760,000. And after the church, the Pastor counted N245,000 and gave the brother to the sick person, and then he put the balance into the church account.
The sick person's family are aggrieved. They're of the opinion that members raised that money for their brother and not the church so the church has no right to keep back any amount given to their brother. Cos the announcement was specifically to raise money for the sick brother.
The pastor is saying that they requested for 245k and he has given it to them. So whatever is left belongs to the church.
Is the pastor right?
Or is he greedy?
Contributions are welcomed.
Pastor is right. It was a free will offering or donation. The Church must have a purse. That’s where the funds should go. They aren’t the only ones with problems in the church. Some people can’t even voice theirs. God so blessed that they got more than needed. Now imagine if you were a member of that church and you gave 10k to support the family in question. Then the next Sunday Pastor requests more donations from you against another unforeseen situation unfolding. Will you be cool to give another 10k when you know that the previous donation generated surplus beyond the needed amount? Money is someone’s sweat and pain. It should be well appropriated and accounted for in the Church. I think that family is a selfish family and an ungrateful one. Assuming it’s a ceremony and sums were donated, that’s a different case. Then we can agree that all the moneys will get into the celebrant’s purse. That’s a different case. Well that’s for me sha. I see nothing wrong with what the Pastor did.
Sometimes I can’t blame the whites for making laws that overwhelmingly benefit women in the event of a shattered marriage. His father has always been a principled, honorable personality - a total opposite of Yul. I just dey wonder how manage lion take born dog.
Onucs: The same kinda relationship they wanted to established with Cuba b4 Fidel Castro miraculously pulled out his people from under their whim for life, u mean?
Guy, as a country, if you are growing, The US would either wanna control you or be a part of your system. Anything other than that, they just wanna destroy you. That's why they wanna bring down Russia so bad. And if that happens, they will face china with all the strenght they have got. I pray that day never comes.
Russia no know wetin God do for them, giving them a leader like Putin. I wish Nigeria gets a leader like Putin so that, she can finally pull herself out of this frustrating western democracy (sorry, demonstration-of-craze).
Hushhh.. You're too loud Sir and you know nothing about what you're saying. I mean absolutely nothing. US is suppressive on her neighbours na e Mexicans influx into US as if na heaven. What do you think made Trump sarcastically talk about building a wall between them? Smh.
I no know how e come reach this level sha. How una go just open mouth waah dey talk wetin una no even understand. You, Pansophist, lhordspy, seuny4life, etc.. Una suppose follow the ongoing trend, try set new records on GWR for stupidity.
Myer: How do we forget so easily that US is not after the interest of any country but theirs? War is simply business to US. Can you imagine how much US is making from this Russia-Ukraine war?
Yes, Russia has no right to dictate to Ukraine what body to join or not. However their concern is note-worthy if you understand the history between USSR and USA.
I sincerely hope Zelenskyy and Putin come to Peace terms as Zelenskyy comes to realise that their common enemy is USA and not each other.
Can you imagine how much US is making from this Russia-Ukraine war?
Lolz. Please tell me how they're making the money? Oh, you think Ukraine buy weapons from the US? What's the meaning of 'aid' in your dictionary? Please check and revert.
When I throw jabs at some of you anti- America fans here who claim pan Africans , claim to know their history and try hard to sound woke or smart , its because you lack substance for educative or beneficial discussions.
Please look up the meaning of 'aid' in your dictionary and get back to me. Shalom.
Yeah, I know. You probably typed this joke from an 'over rated' iPhone or Android device.
I guess she was also 'over rated' in WW II. Maybe that's why she 'over did' more than the World could ever imagine. Dey follow popular opinion. Wetin your mates say follow them say. Wetin dem do follow dem do.
Nairaland is filled with 'brainless intellectuals'. They live by sentiments and instincts like roaches and bugs. Looks like you're about to get on that train too.
Ukraine isn't fighting Russia. Ukraine is only defending it's territory and people.
It was Russia that invaded Ukraine.
The person you're quoting is mentally challenged. Avoiding a discussion with him is the simplest way to show you aren't of similar psychological status.
todugo: Una two dey misyarn. The truth of the matter is that America and NATO decieved Zelensky by persuading him to Join offering him money and the mumu agree. Now look at what he has turn his country into because of selfish greed.
What NATO want was to establish it military warhead close to Russia; it's like your enemy forming a camp around your gate.
Putin warned Zelensky but he was strongheaded and is now being used like a puppet. Ukraine is already gone as a country it's now a warzone for the nuclear warheads to test strength
Guy, this is not sports betting or Linda ikeji gist. Its not Davido's , Burnaboy's or wizkid’s latest hits. Its global politics. Don't come up here to dine with plastic wares. You're lost and worse than stupid here. Stop embarrassing the male gender.
All this noise will not be heard after that summit in Lithuania.
Ukraine joining NATO is all but a dream, there's a reason over 30 countries don't want to go to war with Russia.
Alone, no country can win a war against Russia conventionally, yet Ukraine decide to fight against them for an outsider.
The pace of this war was decided in the beginning by Putin and Russia, because taking over Ukraine in the beginning would've been a grave mistake for the Russians, a borden too heavy to carry. Also killing while fighting against your own people is easier said than done.
The phase of this war now is for Ukrainians to go to the Frontlines and die.

Zigzagman: we need to hear more success stories of marriages on nairaland . it seems that bad news about relationships spreads faster than good news. we also need to know how you maintained your marriages. it is important.
I am very happy for both you and bukatyne
Thanks boss. Successful marriage? Nah come on. Marriage is like a moving car. Its a process. We use success for an eventual or intentional completion of a process. So what I'm currently experiencing is a 'working' marriage. We're working to make it successful at the end. We can call it successful after we look back and have become feeble together, fulfilled, given back to our environment and our offsprings proudly carry on our legacies. That's it. Success is at the end of a story. Progress is in the middle of it. Don't mix it up. Baba no mind me o. I just dey catch cruise. Lol.
bukatyne: 😆 😂 😆 😂 😆 😂 😆 😂 😆 @ I am fortunate. I luckily met my husband while we were both in 100L and have been together since then
I gave my POV from the issues in my world (my workplace, my husbands, friends workplace and general observation). I remember a friend used to joke that if we didn't have potential husbands before getting jobs, we would not be married.
In my world, busy is 9am till mama calls (unhealthy, I know). And this is not necessarily a function of 'I want to grow or aggressively pursue my career'; it is a function of impossible workloads because your company wants to be very customer centric. People who work in the service industry (organisations that offer services instead of goods) would get me. And this busyness is not a female only thing; it is just that the way females & males approach relationships are different. It is also because the values each sex brings to the relationship is different.
Because my organisation despite the heavy workload somehow like marriage, our management encourages colleagues marrying and I tell you that about ten couples or more have married in about ten years. And they tell you that God bless the management, they couldn't build a relationship another way. I also look at my female senior colleagues and a large number of them got married at the start of their careers. Like I said, I first heard the advice of 'career before marriage for men & women' on NL. It is get a job, get married & grow. If you look at our society, that's what leaders in all spheres of our society did.
Getting a supportive spouse isn't really a function of when you marry as opposed to the spouse you married.
I agree with you that growing a career with growing kids is a tough one. That's why a lot of peeps married relatively early, had kids (if God willed) and began putting more efforts in their careers as the kids became more independent. It is easier for a junior colleague to miss a departmental meeting for a sick child than a senior colleague to miss a board meeting for a sick child.
I am happy for you that madam ported to your side The kids would enjoy you guys together.
Yeah, you've said it all. I'm happy for you.
I am happy for you that madam ported to your side The kids would enjoy you guys together.
Lol. She couldn't help it. She gets so emotional seeing how we bond. She just had to join us. At the end marriage is all responsibilities... And these responsibilities become pain when youre with the wrong person.
DevilsEqual: I dont peddle false news, so i dont know about that but my worry is how achebe( Greatest Igbo man ever) feels in his grave any single time W.S utters a word I mean, not only did he die unfulfilled, He even lived a shorter life compared to the man that achieved what he couldnt

bukatyne: I did not watch the video however would lend my two cents to the topic.
Dating and finding a suitable mate becomes a real problem for working women as they grow older. And one of the major issues is the time to find a potential husband and cultivate a meaningful relationship. Another thing is that most of their mates are married and those unmarried want younger girls not working or just coming up at their jobs so they can rely on them to cover up the slack at home.
Using myself as an example, if I did not have my husband before getting a job (we got married shortly after the job), I honestly doubt I would be married today. I neither have the time nor patience to cultivate a relationship now. If I managed to find a man today, cancelled dates and infrequent calls would have chased him away. Because I do not have the time, I cannot even properly vet him (physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and financially) to know if he is the one. If I even managed to vet him, I do have the time and patience for the tweaking needed to have a smooth relationship.
Also, if we have lived in a certain way till our mid-thirties or older, it would be an herculean task to mould & fit ourselves into one another.
One might wonder how marriages are sustained with such a schedule; well you have a rhythm. After church, we can stop at Cold Stone and gist for 10mins before going home; I am not trying to vet him, I am relaxed. After work on Friday, we can branch to an eatery and grab dinner in 45mins; he is not trying to find out if I am a feminist or not so he is relaxed. WhatsApp chats or a 2mins call to check up on each other during the day. The days we have to work freaking late, we understand that it is the wicked 'capitalists' and a backrub and a peck makes the other person feel loved.
Ideally, I would often advise a lady looking at building a career or working for a long time or a demanding job to find a mate young and build a relationship on a solid foundation. When the job becomes demanding (and it would be), both of you can do the dance of adjustment without much drama (considering you are both sensible people).
The advise of 'build your career to a stage before getting married' is really pulling the cart before the horse. You have decades to build your career; like a person I admire said, it is much easier to juggle your job and childcare when you are at the bottom. When you get to the middle and top, there is a fear of missing our that you want to be present in important 'occasions'; you want to be present in the rooms where decisions are taken; which has an opportunity cost.
You’re fortunate. I don’t think busy work schedules could make it difficult for a lady to commit to a meaningful relationship. Nah. Whatever is important to you, you’ll definitely make up time for it or find ways around it. So it’s a matter of what one prioritizes. Another thing is, you may not get to have a supportive spouse, who’ll push you towards your ambitions after you get married. It’s difficult to achieve one’s ambitions with growing kids and an unfulfilled spouse. My wife had always been a workaholic wanting to climb up the corporate ladder, running eight to sixes every working day…I supported her. At some point she envied me for having the luxury of working from anywhere I chose and having a good deal of time with the kids. Today she’s running her business smoothly with utmost fulfillment and time for family. I didn’t force her to change her mind. She just saw what she could be missing by my lifestyle. That was how she strategically resigned and ported. I’ll simply advice any financially stable lady to get her priorities right and keep her heads straight. It’s either she settles with a compatible person who’ll be supportive, or refactor her ideals to suit her current realities.

Now I just remembered the guy who came up here yesterday to complain about his young daughter, nursing orphaned wife, and her insistence that her 4 younger siblings should live in her matrimonial home… Better plan your flight well. When you take off leave runway, no parking space dey for clouds o.
Dey play. Lol. Shebi you say na burn e dey burn na. Ehen , just wait make Tinubu reach 2nd term, if thunder no fire am, na inside gallon fuel go dey dry up before you carry am reach house.
OZIOGU1: If you have the resources please help them, orphans prayers don't go unnoticed in the eye of God, My wife is an orphan i took her like my blood sister i can tell you that after Almighty God what i am today is largely to the blessing from her, she prays and wish me well every morning before leaving the house, i was in one level for six years, after my marriage to her, i got 4 promotions consecutively. So my brother help and i encourage you to do it with one heart, you will see your life in the next few years
God bless you for this boss. Him no know whether that is his millionaire test. My own be say he saw the situation and still went ahead with the union. Now he's talking about his daughter. That degree of selfishness stinks to the highest heavens.
Tob456: I have a 7 months old daughter her mother is an orphan, she is the eldest of 7.
We broke up when she was pregnant because we had a disagreement about her siblings living arrangements.
She wanted her 4 sisters to stay with us after the wedding and I only two of them to stay with us. The problem is seeing my daughter growing in a bad environment away from me makes me feel so bad.
Whenever I visit her I feel so bad leaving her behind that I don't sleep well thinking about her all night.
I also doesn't like the idea of having kids with different mothers.
For my daughter's sake I want to get back with her mother for us to raise her together in the same house. But getting back with her means that I should also allow her 4 siblings to stay with us after the wedding.
I am doing this for my daughter's sake but I don't know if I am making a wise decision.
What do you guys think should I get back with her or forget about her and concentrate only on my daughter.
Please help
Listen, if for the sake of your little girl alone you'll want to get back under the same roof with her mom, then know that you aren't ready to kill this turbulence once and for all. Your daughter wasn't in the picture before you got her preggy but her siblings were there. She told you. You saw the signs and still went ahead with the marriage. Fallen out of love with her? Well sorry, you may have to fall back in. You're thinking about your daughter, while your wife is nobody's daughter. Dey play. You can call me a religious maniac, but you see that orphan lady? If she cries up to her creator because of you, you go think say village people don open your file. Better get her to sit down, bury your ego and re negotiate your realities together, rather than try to poltiticise it. Kill this selfishness bro and face the situation you created, cos God is watching.
9jatriot: Before now they look down on our education system, but now that their kids have become lazy and leaving the traditional professions, they are now raiding our so called professionals that they had hitherto looked down upon and granting them special privileges to entice them. The serious ones there just want to do IT stuff like youtube and run online stores leaving very few ready to become doctors, factory workers, engineers and co.
The lazy ones are now into drugs and other unproductive ventures.
Wetin disuan dey talk sef. Ask the pipu wey dem 'raid' whether they're not happy to be raided. Even their families are praying for more successful raids, you're here singing fuji. See the nonsense avatar una INEC select as president, after a lifeless one. U think say all these things no get implications? When una see a person with foresight to improve una standard of living and create a working environment, una go first check whether na una tribe. Na so una go dey select nonsense upandan. When boomerang come una go begin cry rubbish
TemplarLandry: A fast-fading regional bloc like the European Union should stop pokenosing into our internal affairs. Their unsolicited opinions are inconsequential. Nigeria refuses to be your appendage.
Jaybee3456: Honestly it's quite annoying seeing how this trend is moving in this country. How does one just wake up and decide to break records of professionals? This thing is now a joke lol. I don't know hilda personally but what i know is she planned, strategized and made sure everything is in place for her to break the record she just broke. Then came chef dammy no training, no planning, no strategy but went on to try breaking a record she knew nothing about?
It's quite hilarious seeing everything unfold before my eyes lol. This is one problem i have with our people, we are not innovative enough. There are so many ideas to be implemented but no emeka sells shoes and he's successful ok make i go dey sell shoes too, or funke bakes bread and she's doing quite well make i go dey bake bread too. Then at that point you're there struggling with that person with the same targeted audience, isn't it hilarious?
We really need to do better honestly or maybe it's this generation of Nigerians that are just not thinking properly, i mean see this ondo girl she slept off while trying to break the hilda's record . That's what happens when you jump into something with no idea of or the other lady that slumped while doing massage it is well. This trend isn't stopping anytime soon so more failed attemps to come.
They celebrate mediocrity na, so what do you expect. Same lots celebrating the deliberate rubbishing of BVAS to promote Agberoism. Anyone who doesn't think like them is seen as an odd number. Unfortunately these exceptional people are very few. I mean disturbingly few. So few, that you start wondering what Nigeria's future would look like. Its pathetic. The competition in Silicon valley isn't the same in Computer village. Na so e be.
Listening to that girl, any sound person will know she's naive. There's a mix up somewhere. Whoever is smart enough to alter that result slip and allow it go public, should be smart enough to know that JAMB's database has the authentic data. The current Nigeria, especially under Buhari and Tinubu's APC, has no business with integrity. Its more sensible to accord that 19 year old girl a good sense of dignity, than accord that to JAMB. Most Nigerian institutions are irredeemably corrupt than a 19 year old can ever be. I hear some people talking about glitches and I laugh. INEC has set the pace, that technology will never be of significant benefit to the Nigerian system. Its a pity. Up till today JAMB site still dey stagger when traffic is huge. With so much spent. Their support lines na on top your credit. Their feedback system is pathetic. Printing slips from and old page? Well... I just know that JAMB, just like INEC, suck with tech utilities. Banning that girl is cruelness. Its uncalled for, not at such sensitive times when same ethnic group are crying about being marginalized. Its damn insensitive.
seunmsg: Can you mention the exact allegation that Peter Obi was able to prove against INEC?
I followed the case and Peter Obi failed woefully to prove anything. There is no need for INEC to call any serious witness because Peter Obi never proved anything.
inoki247: Marriage are part of the things Nigeria sees as Achievement....
He dey always be like say dem win a Throphy....
Gods ulterior motives for marriage was Companionship, Procreation and pleasure. not poverty alleviation. On whether marriage is an achievement or not is dependent on how it eventually plays out with the passing of time with regards to a couple’s collective purpose in destiny . For people like Pastor Enenche or Adeboye, it’s an achievement. Their wives have been a huge blessing to them. For others like Pastor Chris Okotie and Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, it’s difficult to say the same. Marriage is what you make out of it. Great tools can do bad jobs too, it depends on the user.
