We all do worry but most times unnecessarily. Most of what come to our mind are like;

¤My mates are getting married.

¤My mates are getting good jobs.

¤My mates are succeeding.

¤My mates are living overseas.

¤My mates are buying cars.

¤My mates are building houses.

¤My mates are this... my mates are
that...

It's too bad you forgot about some of;

¤Your mates in the mortuary.

¤Your mates in the psychiatric homes.

¤Your mates that are roaming on the streets.

¤Your mates that are hungry.

¤Your mates that are blind or deaf or dumb or combine all...

¤Your mates that are in jail without committing any crime...

*You ate last night but some didn't or couldn't...

*You have work and sources for daily living while some have nothing to
look up to...

*You are alive not because you are
faithful or because you have never sinned before but it is the MERCY of God Almighty that kept
you alive.

You might not be where you wish to be today, but you have obviously gone past where you were yesterday.

So, scrap the worries and be thankful.

When does one become less thankful? once in a grave?

Assuming without conceding, they are subordinate, it doesn't diminish the tendency to have more men. Hence it is still hypocritical for men to complain about polygamous strained women.

It will take a while to flush out these relics from the past. These miniature kings are accountable and responsible to really no one unlike a strong credible local government.

As long as these guys remain, our democracy is incomplete

Op, am saying this in love but, How dumb can you get and still breathe? shocked shocked
Because you sighted few reported stories of the bible, which am very sure you saw or copied from somewhere without bothering to look at them contextually, you concluded that the bible is what exactly? because i cant put a lid on all you have written undecided. Lemme ask you using a general life instances, if you and your brother went to watch a football match together and when you both got home your dad asks you both to summarize the outcome of the match for him briefly, will you and your brother narrate the match exactly the same way to him, action by action and word to word? Wont you summarize it for him in your own words and understanding? Stories of the bible are reported according to its relevance to the person narrating it, from the old to the new testament. The bible doesn't contradict itself, i only feel pity for those who see it that way because they need their inner eyes to be opened by the holy ghost to know better. Happy Sunday.
If you are aware, one of the best tactics of exposing a lie, is to cross examine the separate narratives and pick out the material contradictions.

Implicit in Christianity is the hopelessness of living. The Christians are so preoccupied with sins as an error of existence that they are unable to live.

Of what use is Jesus's death to living a good life. None, at most the effect of the so called sacrifice is at death.

You see, if I merely wanted to make my stance here Argumentative, I would want to ask what you meant by:
SOMEONE BEING PREJUDICED ON hER LOOKS OVER HER SKILLS....BECAUSE ITS A LEVEL UP MISCONCEPTION, & MISAPPLICATION OF TERMs

It questions your understanding OF PREJUDICE...
IT'S like stating NOTHING against Nothing, a muddled up response....

But, I cared to know our pursuit of TRUTH is GENUINE, so that in TIME, We"ll be sure OURs was a gainful aTIME!!!!

THAT'S why I cherished the CLARIFICATION OF POINTs over the Argumentation of POINTs!!!!

Be WELL!!!!
Are you expecting me to define prejudice to you?? In our prior conversations you didn't have a problem with it. You seem to have perfectly understood what I meant. I will explain myself with an example.

An ugly albeit industrious and intelligent woman walks in for an interview but the potential employer looks out for her absent physical beauty - the package as you put it - and declines looking at her resume or any evidence of competence just because she is a woman, is prejudice.

How can that behuh?

What is your understanding of PREJUDICEhuh
What in the name of Admiration is Prejudicialhuh?

SOME Women are exceedingly INSECUREhuh?
That's the Problem!!!
You see while I stated that this ISSUE can be contested either way; we are not all Lacking in Judgement....

You see, I did not CONDEMN the WOMAN for her response simply because she reserve the right to understand issues anyway she deemed fit, in so far she accepts the consequence as a BALANCEd UTILITY!!!! even when it defeated PURPOSE.....her very Purpose of being there!!!!
Its Pathetic!!!! After all, it was her Personality Projection she supposed she was defending.... But, she lost it there...when she reacted to APPROACH like a JUDGEMENT!!!! There's a difference between APPROACH & INTERPRETATION... It's not what was said to her that really was a problem, it was how she reacted to it!!!! She made a mountain of an ANTHILL!!!!
You can put up a Packaged brand for Sales.... But, you can't really determine how people approach to demand for it!!!! Your Purpose should be SALES!!!
If eventually a potential CUSTOMER says:
This battered product is whathuh?
Should you lose your head for ithuh??
Its INSECURITY....
WITH ALL HER Professional Skills, she Lacked one thing: HUMAN RELATION....

IN CASE YOU DON'T KNOW:
Competition has made formal ORGANISATION an OUTBASE for Strict FORMAL RELATIONs.... Just to make the workPLACE efficient & HOMELY...
To think in SUCH FORMAL, STRICT, ROBOTIC sense for an organization in this AGE is damn ANALOGUE!!!! I was really SURPRISED when EnlightenedSoul raised it....aside other possibilities....but I dismissed that as mere argumentative appeal!!!!

Don't argue that way again!!!!!!!

Okay. For the sake of arguments, let me agree with you.

So now your point is that informal relationships/interactions/behaviours are not allowed in the formal setting?

And your "prejudice" argument?

What is your understanding/definition of the type of relationship the LinkedIn setting dictates?

I don't get your job interview interlocution. Are you saying a job interview was taking place?

Overall this is utter tosh in regards to answering my question.

Can you try again and not request me to deduce the answer from your jabber?

Lets try again:

When do the "hits" a woman receives on LinkedIn become too much or excessive?

How is LinkedIn an office?
You fail to see the connection I'm making. As far as I have established LinkedIn is a formal setting, it demands only formal relationships. The job interview is an example to elaborate my formal setting argument.

Aside from its physical location, an office is string of formal relationships.

I have given loads of opinions on this thread. Can I ask you to first give your own opinion by answering your own question before I give my opinion?
My position is give onto Caesar what belongs to Caesar. The setting dictates the type of relationship that can be created. A formal setting its hardly the place for informal relationships and their informal embarrassment. You would not be eyeing a job interviewer during your job interview, it is disrespectful.

Another factor is authority. Professional relationships are regulated by authority. An employer must maintain his authority over his employee and the employee must accede to it. Playfulness compromises authority.

Subtract the physical location from office you will see what i mean.

She should be happy for that!!!!
The supposedly Ugly Lady of which you speak has very little to recommend her SKILL
It is as much so for WOMEN as MEN...

MAN is a perceptive animal... The first impression is almost always the physical!!!!

You forgot there are people who earn simply for BODILY dispaly & that you enter WALMART mainly for there PACKAGING!!! You can make their recipe at home!!!
The woman has the RiGHT to interpret her personality the way she prefer, even if it defeats purpose as much as the MAN has the right to VOICE his impression..... So its arguable both ways!!!! The problem normally is where the action of each greatly tarnishes the other & I think they almost both achieved it...though the WOMAN initiated the Consciousness & then TARNISHED herselp!!!!!

POINThuh
YOU can't change much by SIMPLY talking about it!!!!
The more YOU voice your Frustration, the more Demeaned....you become

You make a SUPERIOR of one from whom you seek RECOGNITION...

FEMINISM is the WEAKNESS!!!!

At, TIMES.... WHAT YOU CONDEMN, is actually Your POWER, your FORTE...
NOT knowing how to use it is your IGNORANCE....

THANK ME LATER...
At least you agreed the man was prejudicial towards the woman and further justified it.

Isnt Prejudice a form of injustice? A prejudice against sex, against race; all are forms of injustice. Can any injustice be justified?

Otherwise she won't have tried to look as professional as she appeared. Skill level & professionalism follows with TIME!!!!

A wise woman Uses one to complement the other..
Madame de Pompadour from a humble background in was recommended to the King, not in Wit & Skill, but in LOOKs & Sexual appeal; Thus she became his Mistress & manifested her skills & intelligence making one of the most influential & Powerful women in the Historical imperial West....

This woman simply missed the craft!!! Even if the comment were to be Sexist, it could have become a gross advantage... The Woman is simply unbalanced & INSECURE....
I know such women.... The odds are that she had an experience bitter enough to warrant her venture into female activism.... An experience that may have unbalanced & caused a bitter but protective stance with female defence.... That's the psychology of the matter....
I really feel for her.... Who knows what she's been through!!!!
You believe she was rightly judged for her looks, right?

If so, EnlightenedSoul is trying to argue that this is a prejudice against the LinkedIn lady because her actual professional quality is being IGNORED in a professional environment. LinkedIn is as much an office as any other office.

Try to look at the worst scenario that prejudice can produce. Physically unattractive women will have a hard time getting employed or progressing up the professional ladder all because of their looks. Which is unfair to anybody.

Well said. The people you hang with reflect on one's personality a lot. If you hang out with eagles, you're definitely going to fly but if you hang out with chickens, you're most likely to cluck. The purpose of life is not to be happy but it is to be useful and make some difference that you have lived well. One just needs direction.
Do you mean usefulness to the world outside yourself, or usefulness within yourself?

It is a tricky terrain, because usefulness to the outside world does not imply happiness or satisfaction but only the world will enjoy the satisfaction from your usefulness. Just the same way the butcher gains satisfaction from his knife or the driver from his vehicle.
Family › Re: A Sad Story Of A Virgin Married Woman - Ladies Learn by Kay17: 5:00pm On Oct 06, 2015
proxillin:
This happened live and direct in my church.

There is this woman in her 40s who usually sits at the pastor's office. I noticed she behaves like someone undergoing mental deliverance. I remember few times when church prayer warriors organize special prayers for her.

She was healed yesterday and our pastor was happy. I am very close to the pastor. When we were together, in his happy mood he told me what happened to the woman.

The woman was a Deeper Life member (this is not intended to paint any set of people bad. This is a real life story. I have to state out all the facts. Apologies to Deeper Life Christians).

She met her man in the same church. They were both Virgin. Based on Christian doctrine - No sex before wedding.

After wedding, she expected the man to start making moves, nothing was happening. The husband is like a serving junior pastor in the church.

She started making the moves. And whenever she does, the man was always giving excuses.

"I will minister today, I have to prepare my sermon notes"
"Its a prayer night...I want to be clean before God"
"Blah blah"

The woman could not longer take it. One day, she closed the door, forced herself on him, brought out his pinis, tried to arouse it, nothing happened.

That was when the woman started asking questions. After a lengthy argument, he confessed that he is impotent. And he has been keeping it a secret from his wife (A pastor for that matter).

This lady is core believer (You know deeper Life people na). She decided to stay. No divorce in Christianity. Once you swore an oath on the alter, you are in it for life. Based on her own believe ooooooo. Not mine. Because some churches may not divorce, but separation is allowed especially when they are endangering their own lives through fights and others.

She stayed in the marriage for 20 years. Her younger sister who got married after her now has 3 kids. She is still single and a virgin.

Her ability to bear all this tribulation started running down. She started having mental issues.

The first one happened, when her sister was celebrating her daughter's birthday. They had a little disagreement and she scattered the whole party. When they called family meeting to settle the issue was when she busted out and told her people "Can you Imagine, I am still a virgin". It was like film trick to the family.

Ever since then, she will be walking on the street, talking alone. If you ask her a question, she will be saying something else.

To cut the story short, someone brought her to our church. Where she has been undergoing reform. My pastor summoned her husband. As pastor to pastor. He told him "You are a wicked human being". "You have sinned against man, and God". Its true you have a problem. You are a pastor, spill your problem out, let the world help you. You kept it secret and even subjected your woman to a marital bondage for years. You have wasted her life. Where do you want her to start from?

The genesis of this no sex before marriage. I am not supporting anyone to engage in premarital sex, however, you need to find a way to know your partner during courtship.

Its either you marry an impotent or a sexomaniac. I remember a man that have sex with his wife 8 times a day. Whenever he is coming back from work, his wife will be crying.

Ladies Learn!
But God didn't promise sex was the reward for marriage in His eyes. So why is sex a measure of value?

10. If you date and you don't have sex, you can forget about that relationship when you stop dating. But if you have sex with those you date and then break up, the nature of sexual involvement creates strong, often unpleasant memories for your whole life. Every relationship you break up where you had intimate relations is like a mini-divorce. The psychological difficulties of these mini-divorces does damage to your character. Later, when you are married and go to bed with your beloved spouse, these unpleasant memories will accompany you.
True love waits. If a boy or girl truly loves you, they will want the best for you. They will not want you to suffer fear of disease, unwanted pregnancy and the psychological difficulties of premarital sex. They will want to experience love with you only in the very best place of all - the love nest of marriage
Is sex the true bond of a relationship? For a conservative mind like yours, I doubt if you are willing to say declare sex a glue to any relationship especially marriage. We all love to think relationships are held by friendship, so when a friend betrays you, you do not need to have sex with the person, to feel the pain.
Christianity Etc › Re: Ten Reasons Why Sex Should Wait . by Kay17: 1:33pm On Sep 25, 2015
8. Premarital sex breaks the 10 Commandments given by God. The 10 Commandments are given to man by God to make man happy. They are not outdated and they are not restrictive. If we follow these laws, we can create happy and prosperous lives. If we don't follow them, we will pay a heavy price in divorce, disease, abortions, illegitimate children and loneliness. Modern men make a big mistake when they think that they can break these eternal laws and not suffer consequences
I could not find it amongst the 10.
Christianity Etc › Re: Ten Reasons Why Sex Should Wait . by Kay17: 1:29pm On Sep 25, 2015
2. Sexual activity for young people arrests their psychological, social and academic development. Studies show that when young people engage in premarital sex, their academic performance declines and their social relationships with family and friends deteriorate. This is because adolescents are too immature to deal with the explosive sex drive and it tends to dominate their life.
What if, a couple of young people while in school, and get married. And they have lots of sex, does their marital status change their maturity and vulnerability towards sex?

And Reno Omokri concluded this article in a very fantastic way. In his words:

'That is a beginning, now we must ensure that merit is also applied to admission into government schools and recruitments into the public service.'

Please, let there be this same merit in the educational system and also public service.

Buhari! Reno Omokri is saying that, you can appoint whom ever you want politically because it is within your prerogative as the constitution demands for you to appoint those competent in your eyes. But, he also stated at the end that, this merit should be applied in all spheres of our life in Nigeria like in the educational sector, health sector, public sector, technologically-wise.

So! Let the competition of merit begin in the country. We shall see who will bulge, now that federal character has been thrown to the Bin.
The merit argument is a convoluted one with a hidden argument that minorities for whom the Federal Character was designed, are inherently incompetent.

Why not appoint competent minorities? The truth is, there are myriad interests in Nigeria, not just ethnic interests but ethical ones as well. And one must try balancing these interests.
Christianity Etc › Re: How A Mammi Water Almost Ruined A UNILAG Student by Kay17: 6:10pm On Sep 05, 2015
mowah:
Well, as we all know, not all that glitters is Gold, here is a Testimony of a unilag student named David, surname withheld at an MFM church.

David is a 400L student of unilag and has been attending MFM youth church since he gained admission in 2011. He was a very active church member until sometimes in November 2014, it was getting close to the exam period at unilag and David decided to study at his favorite destination in campus which is the Lagoon front.

While reading in front of the peaceful water, he meet a very beautiful dark Lady crying, he felt sorry for her and decided to walk up to her. He later asked her why she was crying and she told him all that happened that her boyfriend dumped her. David as a Christian gave her some words of encouragement, preached to her and consoled her. They became friends, more interesting, he has fallen in love for the first time in his life. Unluckily for him a mammy water.

After their exams they became much closer and by february 14 2015. They became lovers. As the relationship grew the young Lady began to demand for sex but David was reluctant until one day he decided to forgo his church program to go out with the young Lady. He was drunk that night and had sex with the lady, you know what it means to sleep with a yemoja, David life changed, he started having sex with her more frequently, he never went to church, he started smoking, his friends started to notice his change and started advising him but he wouldnt listen.

Until July 2015. David fell ill. He went from one Hospital to another but they couldnt diagnose the cause of his illness. Until he started seeing the girl in his dreams he then went to the church for Prayers. The pastor Later told him to confess his deeds which he later did. He later realised she was from the marine world and had ruined his destiny. After seven days of Prayers he finally became delivered. I'm wondering what could have happened to the girl as David shared his Testimony on sunday. This story of David is lesson to us, Pray while choosing your girlfriend before she ruins you.
Don't these mammy water people have the ingenuity of foresight? Assuming they are able to foresee future, they would not attack him to the severe point of driving him into the arms of his church
