More importantly self control, it becomes hypocritical to condemn one set of activities and ignore the others.

Let's be clearer:

1. The people's names on the Book of Life are not necessarily good people, but people that happen to believe in Jesus/God. In other words, Christians?

2. Did God write the bible himself or he inspired people to write the Bible?

this is why pple dont fight for their right anymore because before u get judgement u fit don old finish.
Yes it took so long, yet the impact is immense it affects all the states in the Federation, considering that its a constitutional ruling. If more people endure to sue LASTMA, police for their lawlessness, Nigeria will be a better place. The number of people LASTMA would have exploited must be huge.

Where did u get the knowledge of the Book of Life from? At least you were born with.
Christianity Etc › Re: Take Or Leave It. Masturbation Is A Sin And Can Lead One To Hellfire. by Kay17: 6:29am On Dec 06, 2013
Ukuts gp: Masturbation is a sin in the sight of God. Masturbation has connection with sexual fatansies and imagination about the opposite sex. God wants our thought to be pure.

Philipians 4:8.
Finally bethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Masturbation goes with lust and sexual thought which contradict God's word.

Matthew 5:28.
But i say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Masturbation is also an unclean habit. It falls under the sin of uncleanness. And no unclean person will enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Revelation 21:27.
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the lamb's book of life.

I hereby advice both boys and girls, men and women to stop masturbation or self service now to escape d danger of hell fire.
Dnt believe those false teachers who say masturbation is nt a sin, it is a sin and can lead one to hell.
^^
The biblical provisions you set out are broader than you think. The verses go way way beyond self service, into thought crime/sin. Rather than idle and limit your gospel against self service, follow the main thrust of those passages. Preach against sexual thoughts and how unclean they are.

However since we cannot punish people for their thoughts given how inaccessible they are, these kind of sins are self regulatory. The thought sinner, is asked to control himself, exercise austere self control. The aim of the passages become clearer - - self control!

Jesus was such a reformer and genius, he indeed came to do away with the old. Jesus would have been amazed at the modern Chiristian's shortsightedness, who still see the New Testament as a rule book!

Christianity Etc › Re: A Refutation Of Supernatural Claims by Kay17: 6:57am On Dec 05, 2013
FOLYKAZE: Are you for real?

I explained to you that supernatural is a term use to express a not yet understood phenomenon. Is that the fact you want me to present? You want me to explain what doesn't have explanation. Smh. For real, you are here for cheap talk and baseless arguement. I quote Einstein who said Experimentation is truth, logical thinking and analysis cant explain the empirical world. I have challenged you to go for experience, what is the fact you looking for from me? Stop lying around....we know your purpose and it cheap talk or argument. Get something better doing (experiment) than hanging on words. There are more to life than internet and technology.

And where did I say there is something extraordinary in what the woman did on my broken bones? I have initially explained that supernatural is something that we cant fully explain yet but when there are full explanation, it become norms and add up to knowledge. nature is super enough. Pls can you explain how my bone and that of fowl were healed with herbs, concortion and incision? Is incision explanable with logic? For hell sake since it ordinary and simple like 2+2, can you explain logically how incision and herb healed my hand?

The woman that worked on my hand do not know 20 elements, do not have logical analysis or scientifical yet her work succeeded. If you ask her to explain the chemical components in the herb, how fowl bone equates to mine and what coin is doing with bone, she will look you as mad person because she do not know and cant fully understand. I have challenged you to ask the aged papa in your village to list the chemical component in herbs.....DESPITE, THIS HERBS, CONCORSION AND MEDICINE WORKS.

There work aint scientifical but spiritual. And to the best aspect i know, spirituality is compatible with science. Science is bounded between logical explanation and practical display while spirituality have no bounds. You and I know that after counting 1, 2 follows. There is bound and limit among the two BUT looking dip, there is infinite too between the figures. 1.0000000001 to 1.999.....till eternity is between 1 and 2. Normal situation is putting bounds while the infinite is spirituality. So in real sense, you approximate the infinite so that you have one figure/number. Your enquiry on fact is like asking me to count infinte number here. Wtf? The best I can give is approximate spirituality to you which is go and experience it. Or challenge those that made claims on supernatural. If you on about arguing.....it mean you got and want nothing. Why cant you get me white and dry salt from three days soup? That should give you something to do.

Eating razor blade is trick huh? Can you google it and how to do it so that i buy you pack of razor for feeding. Dont run around showing me video of people doing it. It trick and you know it trick. You cant know something without contacting it. Knowledge is based on empirical reasoning and critical analogy.....which is a factual belief. So since you know eating razor is trick, it mean you have confirmed that and well convinced base on logical reasoning that it trick. Now come and show us how it trick by eating one pack of razor blade. You can not just give us a speculation and think we should accept it like that. If you are ready to eat blade to prove it trick, I will take you serious buddy.
Try to be clearer, are you saying Supernatural is what's impossible to explain or what is YET to be explained?

Also, what do you mean by spirituality?

Everyone except for folykaze is agreeing about Nothing, hence the chaos and miscommunication. If someone was as courageous as folykaze, the thread wld have progressed at least a bit.

@joshfirst to be sincere, what if I said I have zero idea of what you mean by supernatural, except that I know you are not adopting the meaning folykaze gave to it.

Wouldn't it be a comedy of errors for you not to have a precise idea/understanding of what you are talking about, and you have been unable to articulate it to the others you are arguing with?!

For me, I define the supernatural as incredible odds overcoming all

MamiWata: The answer to that question is evident given the presence of so many Africans who have chosen to disregard their own knowledge and replace it with someone else's. The question is what the consequence is.

No traditional beliefs are not outdated and they provide a very meaningful lens through which to see the world for the millions of us who didn't choose to opt out. Our traditional spiritualities are not stagnant. They exist today because they have changed while remaining consistent with who we are as ethnic people. They fail to "keep up" with people who want to abandon their own ethnicities and develop into something they are not intended to be.

There is a world on your fingernail consisting of cells. There is a world beneath our feet where creatures build and take things apart. You are talking about scale and that is relative. Some humans would like to think that what they are doing today is something new and awe-inspiring but it is not. You are ignorant of traditional beliefs so you don't know that all these things have been contemplated before. Unfortunately you also fail to see that it is those who chase technological progress at all costs who are the same ones ignoring a vital tenet of ethnic religions: balance between the many systems that need to coexist to keep us alive. Climate change reminds many of us that humans can not choose to disrespect balance and yet that knowledge has not trickled down to you. We are not bigger than nature.

This couldn't be father from the truth. Time as a linear "object" is a western construct that disconnects pasts from the future. Time as a West African construct is cyclic/circular. The future has already lived and the past keeps giving birth to itself. Ancestors are yet to come and those of us who respect them will usher them in and guard the knowledge they have passed down to us. You have chosen to disregard knowledge and that is your choice but you have a lot of gall to say that those of us who have not made this choice are making the wrong one. Knowledge is never outdated as long as it is true.
How does Paganism reflect the idea of Multiverses?
Christianity Etc › Re: Our Ancestors Represent Our Creator by Kay17: 5:24pm On Dec 01, 2013
They can believe in whatever they want, but if they belong to an ethnic group or tribe and make use of its name and identity, then they have to accomplish certain duties towards it for the benefits and protection they receive from it.

This involves practicing, protecting and preserving its belief systems. doesnt matter if its in addition or whatever. THey have no right especially to INSULT it.

The world did not get bigger. It has always stayed the same. Its peoples heads that have gotten bigger.
Paganism is not a religion. Paganism is "truly" a way of life. The natural order of things and how they should be done.

Yes it is unfortunate. For the world to be headed for ultimate destruction, Paganism must die.

no wonder christians and muslims are always anticipating and predicting doomsday. They truly mean the world to end. and soon. .
You unconsciously raised a point against Paganism, that it is found on the fragmented tribal identity. In the interconnected modern world, tribal culture and identity has lost its relevance, people are moving beyond borders: marriages, families, businesses cut across the world. More Africans see themselves as Africans.

If I may ask what tribal paganism is a Nigerian with maternal links to Ashanti and a Xhosa wife ought to practice?! Especially if you still believe he has a moral duty to do so.

I ignore most Christian comments on paganism as ignorant.

So your observation goes as far as disproving the authenticity and possibility of their claim.
Christianity Etc › Re: Our Ancestors Represent Our Creator by Kay17: 11:12am On Dec 01, 2013
@OP

Don't the sons of these "ancestors" you talk about, have the freedom to subscribe whatever belief system they want?

Also isn't paganism outdated, given the fact that it cannot keep up with the modern world and provide the meaningful interpretation it needs!

The "world" got bigger, bigger than a tribe, bigger than a continent, bigger than a planet, bigger than the solar system, bigger than a universe! We contemplate multiverses and silently animated particles, how does paganism fit in?!

It is unfortunate that paganism has to die for the future to live.

Praise to the whole world for the SON OF MAN has defeated death.

*The Son of the MOST HIGH LIVING GOD.
*The Lamb of GOD, who takes away the sins of the World.
*The Ressurection and the Life.
Don't you think Jesus made things harder, due to the fact that people in days before Jesus walked on earth, could make to heaven by mere good deeds and that now, regardless of good deeds, the lack of faith in Jesus condemns one.

Automatically, it is more difficult for people with backgrounds unfamiliar with Christianity, to enter Heaven.

Lordlexyy: Onyfrank thanks alot for getting them more frustrated. @Kay, believing in some dumb evolution that never evolve atleast since the apes are still apes and humans still humans, demand some great dealing of 'faith'. Confused and desperate people. It is reported that one out of three(3) athiests is mentaly deranged and suffered from psycholunacy due to frustration and exhaustion caused by the constant effort to prove the evolution myth. More frustrated they become when Christians testified of God's intervention and miracles that they received (atleast, i'm a beneficiary) Far more frustrated when people explain coming in contact with a spirit being(atleast, i have seen an angel). Their frustration involves trying to twist and give explainations to experience beyond their limited mind and exposure. The frustration soon develop to hatred, to depression, from depression to memory lost, to sadness, to confusion and finaly to suicide.
You seem to suggest Faith is irrational and lacks credibility.

Your post is a result of a poor understanding of traditional pagan religious system. It is not strange that you view it through the scope of Christianity. Traditional religious systems are closed systems, reserved, more or less a club, a gathering of likeminds, they are not open to the entire world, and initiation is a test for its truest member.

Therefore they do not evangelize as Christians do.

OLAADEGBU: "Here is one question that has only been answered with silence: Why did God allow sin to be inheritable?" Alan Byers

He allowed sin to be inherited because it was His plan to disallow it through the new birth. The moment we repent and trust in the Savior, God forgives our sins (which are many) gives us an inheritance in Christ, and grants us the gift of everlasting life. If we prefer to stay in our sins we inherit death and ultimately Hell. Now you have your answer.

Watch => www.EvolutionVsGod.com
Hmmm. Amazing! Sins could have had a natural death just as Adam had and the entire world would be free of it. However, God in his infinite immeasurable wisdom decided to elongate the lifespan of sin, in order to find a more dramatic solution to it!

Olaadegbu, this is becoming a ridiculous exercise, most of your arguments are hopelessly unconvincing and boring. Coped with fact that you seem distracted by other things.
