GeeCee: Season 2. You didn't watch season 1?? Haa, boy, did you miss!! |
spikedcylinder:Apology acceped (on behalf of doyin13 ), but forgiveness not yet granted. The requirements for COMPLETE absolution: 4 live cockerels (white), 11 big tubers of yam (the Amiacha variety), 35 alligator pepper (sun-dried), 4-and-half bales of Hollandies (you better find out what it is!), and a white envelope containing a $500-worth Bank of America-issued credit card (this last one was added recently after a member of our elders' council came back from a visit to his son in America, say thankya) ![]() |
spikedcylinder:@spiked: What r we gonna call this one? Bad belle or just plain aproko? Nawa for u o, i expected better from you, really. @doyin: Please keep it coming. You aint no Grisham or Stephen King, but i love it all the same. "But rather than Burukuta ask me to repeat stuff he doesn't understand like I do, he chooses to laugh irritably instead. . . . " - exactly the kinda response a typical naija cop would give. ![]() |
Myne White:I second that. |
This is just too terrible. And trust the naija police to keep threatening arrests while the victim is bleeding to death, God! To think i was even praising them this morning for intercepting that truck loads of almajiris . . . . . . ![]() saharachic:Lady, pardon my french but i think you should just shut da fc.iik up. It was frigging VALS DAY; fancy some scantily-clad chic trying to dance with your HUSBAND on LOVER'S DAY!!! |
edoyad:You really shouldn't generalize like that. Them "almajiris" are a real nuisance and heart-burn to this couuntry, in fact most of the violence in the northern parts of Nigeria has them connected in one way or another. But to describe all Hausa people as "useless". . . . my man, that's stretching it. ![]() |
2 truck-loads? What were they planning, a mini-jihad? Or just cheap labor at some factory? No offence meant, but mehn, anyone transporting that much bunch of those unruly rascals must be up to no good. And good work by the NPF; God knows its been like for forever since i heard anything good about them. ![]() |
asha 80:Thanks jare. I was beginning to think i'm the only NLer who's aware of these things. @honeric01: dude, i think you need to go and see for yourself. Do you live Nigeria? If yes (and hopefully a major city), then just go out on a friday evening and peek into 3 or 4 cybercafes, it shouldn't take you more than an hour or two. The fact that these guys aren't so successful anymore doesn't mean that they aren't still around; it's just like saying that if armed robbers aren't successful in their robberies, then we can assume that armed robbery has been erased -- what do you think will happen the moment someone drops their guard?? I think we've mixed soup enough on this topic; i'm signing off. |
obailala:Fair enough. ![]() |
violent:How often do you listen to, or read news from (or pertaining to) Nigeria? No offence meant, but you really sound like you only do when a particular story just catches your fancy. You are not even sure whether ex-police I.G, Tafa Balogun was an "enemy" of OBJ's or not (that is, of course, assuminf he's the one you're refering to). And who and who exactly are you talking about when you say "Obasanjo's enemies"? Dude, do your research properly, then come back. |
@honeric01: Your claim is the recent cybercrime rankings; fair enough (even though you didn't say WHO did these rankings). My claim, however, is the evidence of MY OWN EYES! I happen to live in Port Harcourt; i visit Owerri almost every 2weeks; my parents stay in Onitsha; i was in Enugu about 2 months ago and one of my close collegues also has folks there (you may notice that i didn't mention any other town i haven't really been to). So please don't try to convince me of things i actually KNOW otherwise about. I said earlier that the likely reason for a SEEMING reduction naija scams is cos white folks have wised-up; i still stand by it, cos the population of active maga guys in naija hasn't reduced - they sure as hell still fill up cybercafes. |
mahal:You are missing the point. The issue is not about those he prosecuted; it is about those he didn't! Why wasn't the Transcorp saga properly investigated? Where did the funding for Oando Nigeria come from? What happened to Nigeria's excess crude account? (at least i remember i started hearing stories about that money while he was still around). What about the crooks that won the $857 million Power contract under OBJ. It's "swept-under-the-carpet" issues like this that we talking about. |
Me too, i don buy popcorn; ee be like this film go sweet pass Avatar sef. |
mikeansy:I beg to disagree. Nuhu Ribadu did some good, lot more good than any law enforcer before him in the country. BUT that doesn't cover the fact that MOST of the people he went after were more or less politically at loggerheads with OBJ. Anybody who as much as listened to NTA network news during OBJ's period can bear witness to this. The guy did some good, yes, but let's not act or speak like we've forgotten that most of his actions were almost "telepathically" attuned to OBJ's master-plan. |
honeric01:Dropped significantly my hairy behind! When last were you in naija cyber-cafe?? Mr. Whiteman just wised-up to the gimmicks is all. And i'm not talking about Lagos; that place isn't conducive for yahoozee boys anymore (those still there now have their work-from-home arrangements - thanks to MTN, glo and Zain 3G dongles). If you wanna know how serious internet scams still is, travel to Owerri, Onitsha, Enugu, Abuja and P.H, and visit the cafes there. Just scroll up and read texazpete's comment, it aptly summarizes why Nigerians are always mentioned whenever internet fraud is being discussed globally. texazzpete: |

[quote author=Ijele-igbo link=topic=385246.msg5360090#msg5360090 date=1264073767]Anambra East LGA commonly known as omambala area had a course to smile on mon. 18th jan, 2010 when he visited the area in a grand style alongside his deputy governor hon. Emma Anosike who happens to be from the area. The 10 communities in the area smiled home with N150,000 each. The campaign ground at AGULERI was filled with thousands of supporters including women and children. in his words, he urged the people of the area to vote for him. [b]'VOTE FOR ME; A BIG FISH TO GIVE YOU A BIG RESULT. I LEARNT THAT OMAMBALA HAS CRUDE OIL DEPOSITS. RichyBlacK:yes o, i know that one. In fact in the version i heard, India was banned from sports after a football match with Naija; naija lost 100:1 My uncle told that one (if i remember correctly); he said India played with 22 players - 11 playing on the ground and 11 playing in the air, so sometimes the ball will be kicked into the air and it'll remain there being kicked around by india's eleven iin the air until it is kicked into naija's goal post!! Sometimes too, the ball is kicked at Naija's goal-keeper and the ball will suddenly turn into a huge head of palm-fruit! of course the poor keeper dives away for dear life and the thingy turns back into a football and speeds into Naija's net!! ![]() Chai, i'm laughing myself to splinters just remembering this. ![]() |
Nezed: ![]() What if Maradona comes along? U know say dem no dey catch shot wey Maradona kick . . . . ![]() |
hi everyone. Saw a policeman flogging a bus-driver today. I couldn't do anything I was in the company car, with my boss in the back-seat. i was . . . impotent. And that bast.ard mopol just kept on hitting the driver And nobody did anything!! ![]() I looked around around - everyone just wore identical looks of pitiable resignation. I felt like exploding ![]() the other mopols just stood by looking on, like it was a cow the mot.her.bleep!ng as.sho!e was beating! But i was impotent, i couldn't do anything, i just watched - like a sheep! like a blo.ody bleep!ng sheep!! ![]() Look here, everyone, we all know its wrong to flog another human being, especially by a cop. Its an abuse of human rights. but we see it being done, and we do nothing cos we are afraid our hides are gonna get the worst of it. Nobody wants to get into trouble, so we all close our eyes when we see wrong being done! Well, lemme clue y'all: SOMEDAY, YOU AND I ARE GONNA BE UNDER ABUSE - AND NO ONE WILL DO ANYTHING!! I am not afraid to get my head broken because i said what is right. I am not afraid to be man-handled and kicked or even hauled away to Kirikiri. And if i lose my life, well, tough luck. But i swear, NEVER AGAIN WILL I SEE ANOTHER PERSON BEING ABUSED OR MALTREATED BY THE NIGERIAN POLICE, AND I DO NOTHING!! I don't pretend it doesn't scare me - it scares me sh!tless in fact, but i won't let my fear rule me, ever.I've spoken against cops in public before ( i think i even posted somthing about it here sometime), and i will do it again and again and again and again. If someone does something wrong or commits a crime, arrest him, cuff him up or whatever, but on no account should he (or she) be flogged like an animal. Heck, even conficted criminals have rights, so why should someone be treated like that - and along the road for chrissakes ![]() This will never happen again in my life. So help me God. ![]() |
sammyzacks:About time, too. I heard on the radio this evening that the High Court has granted VP Goodluck presidential rights (but not the actual position of ACTING PRESIDENT). Of course that's just spliting hairs; granting one presidential rights is as good as making him/her the acting president. But in any case its more than enough for the VP to take control - i just hope he isn't still waiting for angels to come down from heaven before he does so. Shebi the other day, Bakare described him as either incompetent or unreliable. . . ![]() |
Tgirl4real:I'm good gurl. vescucci:Hmm, that's pretty deep. |
@blu: Mehn, f-uck the biatch!! String you out like that, and leaving you high and dry. Hmmm, kinda reminds me of that old song High by Lighthouse family.@blaze: thats what they used to call me - Punk-kay9!! |
