Nice thread. Can anyone share rough estimate in % difference for houses built with cement compared to those built with mud? I don't have experience in civil engineering. In my naΓ―vety, I always thought mud houses were not just solid or durable enough. 1 Like |

ibechris: Not entirely true. Some people have vision, work hard and smart but their visions just didn't materialize because of external factors such as environment, exposure and money. And for money, it's easier to be wealthy if you're born into wealth than if you're born in poverty. Jowizaza or DJ Cuppy has a higher chance of maintaining wealth than Daniel whose family lives in a rented 3 bed apartment in Egbeda. That's just life. If the rich cry, the poor cry harder. Like someone said, na just time & chance. 10 Likes 1 Share |

Donjazet2: I skipped a lot of literature in English classes. Please explain the nuance in the statement "Yorubas are political rascals and we are going to handle them..." Or are you talking about the previous statement that the Igbos are not at war with Yorubas and they are political rascals and they'll be handled? Looks like I'm missing something. Really want to learn what this nuance you're mentioning is about, in this case. 6 Likes |

Donjazet2: It's like I don't understand the meaning of context. In this your video, the man literally said "The Yorubas are political rascals and we are going to handle them..." I hate tribalism with everything in me because it further showcases the inferiority of the Negro men. However, I will not call a spade a fruit basket. Nobody is the victim in Naija. Just winners and losers. 7 Likes |

airmark: So, for real, there is a plan? A plan for LP takeover and Igbos to "rule" Lagos? Same plan that was in play when a rallying call was made for Igbos to be dumped into the Lagoon because of Jimi "Okechukwu" Agbaje? Seriously, this is what "educated" people think? Abeg, don't reply. Just swallow spit and scroll on. This country is finished. I go follow this thread some weeks later for the football and other bants. By that time, the shinedus, okoros, refugees and sophisticated people go don dey pursue wetin face them individually. 3 Likes |

TheUnsure, If you can move to the UK, move. Since you run an online business, think about scaling your business and exploring the possibilities of catering to the UK market (in addition to the Naija market). Nigeria is not safe. It's not about the money. You're one illness or accident away from a preventable death. You're one wrong move away from getting caught up in tribal violence you never planned for. Move if you can. The numbers may not add up immediately; but your kids will forever thank you. My 2 kobo. |

izzou: QED. Many folks don't know that the real discrimination is between the haves & have nots. The real Chinedus, cone heads, flat heads, yam legs, oil gulpers, inyamiris, etc are the bloody masses. The omoluabis, developers, α»₯mα»₯ chineke, sophisticated people and all other fancy names are the elites. Make everybody dey decieve themselves. Nigeria is gradually heading to what happened in Rwanda, sometime in April a la Hutu/Tutsi ethnic cleansing. When it eventually starts, Obi, Tinubu, Oluomo, Obasanjo, Soludo...they will all enter planes and jet their families out. The remaining morons will butcher themselves. I hope I leave soon. E better to dey hashtag saynotoracism or blacklivesmatter than share the same geographic location with species who mostly reason from their anus. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Business / Re: To Pay Salary Or Not To Pay Salary? Fallout Of Naira Scarcity by Kaycee54321(m): 8:55am On Mar 18, 2023 |
FEGEITOK: Your last two posts really added context to the situation. I think the niceness is even tipping the ruthless on the scale. I mean, you had to draft a letter for an employee to change status from on-site to remote? If said employee doesn't turn up to work on some days and still expects full payment (knowing every opportunity the business has thrown to her, which she isn't even fully utilizing), then she has a problem with the content of her character. Best case would be to get an intern (someone bright, young and hungry) to understudy her; if this doesn't keep her on her toes and makes her sit-up, then she's going to be deadwood sooner than later. |

If I worked onsite and couldn't make it to work but still found a way to deliver on my job, then I'd expect full payment... But I saw you bolded the part about paying employes "for the time spent under the employer's control..." Which smells like you've made up your mind to prorate. Two sides of the coin; As an employer, business is ruthless and business is business; they either show up or they don't get paid in full. As an employee (at least my type of person), moment I feel that my welfare doesn't really mean anything to the business, I'll jump ship for even a 2k increase. It depends on the kinda workforce you wanna breed, to be honest. |
