my brother the federal govt in their selfish interest has made clearing of certain goods like cars a must only in Lagos. That's the origin of the brown sticker on cleared cars. If it's not cleared in Lagos you're on your own as it will be confiscated. How do you explain that? Also cost of clearing at Onne port in the south south is way higher than Lagos. Nice write up. A few things are wrong. I’ll mention a few I noticed.
1 - you can drive in all parts of Australia with a valid Nigerian driver’s licence as a student. If you become a permanent resident, you need to convert your licence to Australian drivers licence after 3 months. I live in Sydney and I know people on student visa still driving with Nigerian drivers licence for over 5years now.
2- there are heaps of masters degree programmes you can do with just 5k AUD and not from 20k AUD as you have stated. There are lots of cheap schools which offer those courses here.
3- as a student, undergrad or masters, as long as you are an international full time student the 40 hours per fortnight or 20 hours work per week is applicable to all students. On holidays or when school is not in session you can work unlimited hours though.

Well sir, I did this out of my own free volition, when I was still a PhD student and had some time to follow things up as this.
I am still in academia, now an assistant professor, hence it’s become so busy for me. I don’t have that much time. To be honest, I only come on NL to “cool off”. I’m afraid I can’t take such requests because of I can’t assure you that it will be completed. However, I have some friends at Cambridge and Toronto who have set up a mentoring scheme of some sort for Africans in Africa wanting to pursue postgraduate studies. I’ll speak to them and drop the details once I get it.

Again, this person abroad will prefer you come to him/her with money-making ideas and NOT just begging each time. If you do that each time, he/she will avoid your calls and emails. I cant stress that enough.
Unfortunately Nigerians today, especially young Nigerians, are so entitled that you will wonder if it is a curse from somewhere. It annoys the Nigerian abroad and believe me, he/she will eventually avoid you.

I once spent my time and resources to chase up a scholarship for someone to go to the US. After getting everything done in the US, this fellow in Nigeria told me he wasnt interested again as, "I dont like the course". Really In the end I had to apologise and create a reason to the University why the student couldnt come. This was three years ago. Today, the student is still going up and down and hasnt moved an inch from where he was 3 years ago. For me, I regret that my time was wasted and I had to re-build my reputation with this particular institution. Why Nigerians are so inflexible with opportunities and don’t understand the concept of time annoys me.

I can go on and on, but you get my point.

I have been looking for a scholarship opportunity to study abroad but it's not forth coming. I'm a Health professional here in Lagos and on the average I earn comfortably well but I crave for international education. The FG just indirectly told us "you are on your own". A big trouble looms.
When there on lock down the case was spreading but slowly.....now, it's more like a free movement within state, I wonder what will follow suite.
I just hope for the better. The FG couldn't extend the lockdown they didn't provide the necessary palliative for the citizens. It's like a father that have failed in his responsibility towards a child, you can't easily dictate the pace. Same scenario unfolded here.... He didn't provide what the citizenry required of him hence he can't boldly enforce continuous lock down cos he knew the ppl will openly protest as time goes on.
So, he want back on the right path.
You and I know that 90percent of the nose mask aren't effective against the rampaging virus. Our govt gas taken this step. I hope it is the right decision but vividly I know it's a wrong move.
