Jesus is an example (1 Pet 2:21) of rising from humanity to divinity. He started on earth as a man--a new Adam. But He later transformed into the Son of God. How? God created mankind with the potential to become like God; that is, to become a god. This seems to have provoked jealousy in Lucifer, which is why he rebelled against God. Shortly after Lucifer rebelled against God, he directed his energy towards preventing mankind from utilising the full potentials God had put in him. He deceived Adam and Eve by telling them that the way to become a god is by living in disobedience to God. Adam and Eve bought the lie and mankind fell from glory. Up till today, human beings still believe that the way to become great is by living a life of disobedience to God. Satan also tempted the new Adam (Jesus Christ) and tried to get him to live a life of disobedience to God, but the new Adam refused to buy the lie. Instead, he new Adam humbled Himself before God and lived a life of perfect obedience, even to the extent of dying on the cross. God resurrected Him from death and made Him equal to God. Today, the new Adam (Jesus Christ) possesses the seven spirits of God (Rev 5:6). He is God, but not the Almighty (see 1 Cor 15:24, Rev 5:7). |

Brother of Goliath most likely carried similar genes to Goliath's. Goliath may well not be name of a person but a description of the person (giant). Goliath or no Goliath is not enough to determine fallibility of the Bible. If you can point to me God's promise or judgment in the Bible that failed, then the Bible becomes fallible to me. |

The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Pr. 16:6 Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the LORD a man avoids evil. True love (of God and of your neighbour) is the only thing that really matters. Even if Catholics are wrong in a lot of ways, but they can practice love sufficiently, Pr 16:6 says that their love will atone for their wrongs. Unfortunately, love is lacking in all churches. Roman Catholic, as a body, actually scores higher than most churches in terms of love. This may not apply to individual Roman Catholics, however. And it is the individual Christian that really matters. I have seen prophecies about how God will visit Roman Catholics during the end-time revival. End time is a pay back time, and God will visit the RCC (notwithstanding their errors) because of the love they have shown to the world over the years. Their mission schools and hospitals helped many. Their motherless babies homes have saved many. CARITAS saved Igbos during the Biafran war. Christians need to focus more on love; it is lacking greatly in Nigeria. I am not a Catholic. 3 Likes |

But I know that we are the generation of followers of Christ who will attain perfection (sinlessness) in the land of the living. God is about to do a quick short work that will last for 1260 days; that is during the first half of the end-time tribulations. During this period, Jesus will open the seals of Revelation 6. Opening of those seals will release tremendous spiritual knowledge that Christians never knew before. The new knowledge will lead to full redemption in Christ. The people who get full redemption will ascend to heaven from the land of the living (rapture). Re. 5:9 And they sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. It is only "by the Spirit" that a person could free himself/herself from sin. The reason why followers of Christ remain imperfect is that they do not now how to free themselves from sin "by the Spirit". Jesus apparently does that for them in Paradise, thereby giving them full redemption. 1Pe. 3:18 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 1Pe. 3:19 through whom also he went and preached to the spirits in prison 1Pe. 3:20 who disobeyed long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, After Jesus Christ died on the cross, He went and preached to spirits in prison through the Spirit; these were spirits of those who died during Noah's flood. What is this prison? Is it Paradise or Hades? Does Jesus still minister to spirits of dead people after His resurrection? There are many spiritual things we do not yet understand. |

You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, He. 12:24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. I think that there were some things that the early Church (led by Jews) knew that the Romans (gentiles) did not clearly understand when they took over leadership of the Church from the Jews. The Roman Church therefore began to teach doctrines that were corrupted. That is why I see the RCC as the first stage in the evolution of the gentile church. I do not condemn the church; I rather see it as how the gentiles started their Christianity. The doctrine of purgatory seems to be one of those corrupted doctrines, by which I mean that there may have been a clearer understanding of what happens to spirits (souls) of dead saints (followers of Christ) while they rest in Paradise. Hebrews 12:23 may be alluding to that. We all know that no follower of Christ has yet attained perfection in the land of the living. It is only the followers of Christ that will participate in the rapture that must attain perfection here on earth (Eph 5:27). But Heb 12:23 describes spirits of dead saints already made perfect. The process of purging the spirits of dead saints of their imperfection may be what purgatory is all about. However, the process is definitely nothing like the RCC describes in their doctrine of purgatory. |

Here in Awka, the partial eclipse is on and continually increasing. Even without any cloud cover, the intensity of sunlight is greatly reduced. Reflection from water on a polished tile shows a crescent sun, with the overlap between sun and moon continually increasing Maximum eclipse is expected around 2.40pm. |

A solar eclipse occurs today, but it was forecast by means of computer simulation several months ago. The same computer simulation has been used to determine that the sign of Revelation 12:1-5 will occur on 23 September 2017. It is well known that the sign of Revelation will occur at mid-tribulation. This brings the start of tribulation to April 2014. If you download and install Stellarum on your computer, and then open it, you will see the moon as a small black disc on the sun. So, the computer software accurately captures solar eclipse happening in the sky. |

How much money has ever been voted towards youth employment? Youths are a greater percentage of the population and most of the problems being faced by the society are from them. Why not vote substantial money towards making the youths useful to the society (instead of dangerous)? |

Iykopee: that means if Nigeria divides, both these regions gonna work 2geda for peace and economic development..If Nigeria were to divide, the five core Igbo states cannot even work together effectively; how much more including the South-South states. If Nigeria were to break up, the best thing is for Igbos to be absolutely on their own. Joining up with S-S states will only bring back the same Nigeria complexity that everybody wants to run away from. Forget cheap money coming from oil. The same cheap money is what destroyed Nigeria. Everybody wants to get big money without doing commensurate work. School leavers cannot think up what to do for the society in order to earn their living; they resort to robbery and kidnapping and give unemployment as their excuse. 3 Likes |

State government are in the habit of setting up universities in the home town of the the governors that are in power at that material time what is the federal Government business with that.I pity sate university lecturers who have involved themselves in this ASUU strike, because they will gain nothing from it. Most state universities depend on internally generated revenue for their operation; by keeping the students away all this while, how will these state universities be able to pay the lecturers when the strike is over. And the lecturers will demand to be paid for the months in which they were on strike. I pity Anambra State University the most; their Onitsha rally will not help them at all. |

The Federal government made a great mistake in the past. There used to be a fixed ratio between civil service pay and university salary scale (USS). Somewhere along the line, the FG started different salary schemes for different sectors of government workers. There is no determinable ratio between these salary schemes. Any group of government workers that can prove that they are different from others are given different salary scheme. The politicians exploited this arrangement to give themselves outrageous jumbo pay. ASUU goes into endless strikes because of this same arrangement. Medical doctors are also into many strikes because they feel special. Judiciary sector has long been given special salary scale. ASUP is flexing their muscles, to show that they are special enough for jumbo pay. Primary and secondary school teachers once attempted flexing of muscles, but they failed because there are may unemployed graduates that wish to earn what NUT members are currently earning. The real solution to all these madness is that Nigerian people should demand that the FG adopts one salary scale for all its workers. If any sector of he Federal civil service is so special, the specialness should attract some allowances that should be only a percentage of the general salary scale and the percentage not be greater than 100%. The one salary scale should apply to everybody--including politicians. This will create a ceiling for jumbo salary scales. This issue is worthy enough for Occupy Nigeria to act on it. |

A respected prophet (Suleiman?) wrote clearly that Igbos should forget Nigeria's presidency (forever), but unbelieving Igbos think it is a joke. Igbos don't know what it means to be Jews. Being Jews means that Deuteronomy 28:15-68 applies to Igbos. Monday, July 22, 2013 Rachel Weeping for Her Children. Time of Jacobs Trouble. Jesus judges apostate church Great Tribulation Dear Saints, On July 15th at 1:30 am I was awakened by a woman weeping loudly and desperately. I woke up thinking there might be someone outside who was crying. But no, it was in the spirit. I asked the Lord who was that crying and what did it mean, the Holy Spirit said "Rachel weeping for her children." After praying and studying this and getting further revelation, I discovered that July 15th was the 9th of Av or Tisha b'Av on the Jewish calendar, which is considered the saddest day for the Jews because many terrible things have occurred on this date. Such as the destruction of the 1st and 2nd temple. I believe the Lord let me hear Rachel weeping because Rachel is considered to be the mother of the descendants of Jacob/Israel. (Rachel is the wife of Jacob/Israel and the mother of Joseph and Benjamin. Refer to Gen 46:19) Rachel is weeping for the children of Israel because the time of Jacobs trouble is about to start! Calling for his removal when he has almost completed his term of office makes no sense. I'm not even sure that ASUU strike will end by May 2014. Instead of calling for removal of Bartho Okolo, UNN should look for a better Enugu State indigene to take over the vice-chancellorship by May 2014. |

ASUU should continue their strike and shut up. Reminding the public that they have no intention to call off the strike will not move the FG to obey their command. Neither will it whip up any public sentiment in their support. Everybody should ignore ASUU. That is the only way to end strikes in Nigerian universities for good. |
