(CNN) -- That 9-year-old Minnesota boy who slipped through security and hopped a flight to Las Vegas is no stranger to child protection investigators, who say he has a history of sneaking into a water park and was recently arrested after allegedly stealing a car, according to an e-mail obtained by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. And it turns out that his mother works at the airport where he began his journey, a source close to the situation said. The boy's father told CNN affiliate WCCO that his son has had issues in the past. "I don't have an angel, OK. I have a 9-year-old," he said. "To me, he's got a behavioral problem." The father, who WCCO did not identify, said the family has been unsuccessfully trying to get help for his son for years. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Janine Moore, area director of the Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Department, wrote in an e-mail to agency administrators and County Board members of the boy's "pattern of behavior," which has included hanging out at a Bloomington, Minnesota, water park and blending in with a large family to slip through without paying. She describes him as a "challenging" child, according to the Star Tribune. The newspaper reported that there is an investigation into whether the boy's mother, who works at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, helped him fly to Las Vegas. The newspaper did not report who was conducting that investigation. The boy's father told WCCO that his wife reported their son missing on Thursday morning -- a day after they last saw him, leaving the house to take out the trash. "We're not bad parents. We didn't think nothin' of it," the father said. "We thought he was at his friend's house." The father said he never expected his son would take the light rail from their North Minneapolis neighborhood to the airport and sneak onto an airplane. "I don't understand," he said. "You've got so (many) security checks at these airports. How can you let a 9-year-old sneak past security, get on the plane, without anyone stopping him, questioning him or anything?" Is U.S. airport security flawed? Authorities have been trying to figure out how the child was able to slip past security and airline gate agents and board Delta Flight 1651 without detection. The boy went through security with other passengers, the Transportation Security Administration said in a statement Sunday, but officials were still trying to figure out how he did it -- and how he then got on the flight Thursday. Delta reviewing video to determine how boy hopped flight to Vegas Patrick Hogan, a spokesman for the airport, said that surveillance video shows the boy briefly talking to a Delta gate agent before the flight. A short while later, the video shows that the agent became "distracted," and that's when the boy was able to sneak through and board the plane, he said. Hogan said the crew "became suspicious of the child's circumstances" during the flight. Crew members got in touch with authorities in Las Vegas and turned the boy over to Child Protective Services, Hogan said in a statement. The boy, who remained in Nevada, will be returned to Minneapolis because that is "where issues will be addressed," a source with knowledge of the situation told CNN. It was unclear when he would return to Minnesota. The agency did not immediately return a CNN telephone message Tuesday seeking comment on the Star Tribune report. According to the Star Tribune, Moore said child protective workers have investigated the boy's family life four times. "The reports have been inconsistent and there have been no injuries to the child; however, there is a pattern of behavior," the newspaper quoted her as saying in the e-mail. The newspaper said Moore wrote that the boy was arrested two weeks ago after allegedly stealing a car. The e-mail didn't indicate whether the boy was the driver of the car or a passenger, the newspaper reported. The newspaper also said Moore wrote that the boy has alleged that his mother has held a knife to his throat and that she was "stabbed and died." "Typically, staff can tell if a child is lying, but with this child, they are unsure what is going on," the newspaper quoted the e-mail as reading. Drought may hit Nigeria, others -World Bank The World Bank has said drought may hit some parts of Africa, including Nigeria, between now and 2015. In a report entitled: 'Africa's Pulse', which was released in Abuja on Monday, the World Bank listed the other African countries that might experience the first wave of drought in the period as Ghana, Cameroun, Cote d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Kenya, Senegal and Tanzania. The report also painted a scenario of what could happen to agriculture and food prices in the affected countries in the event of the predicted drought. It stated, "In Africa, droughts are recurrent events, with adverse effects on local communities and the ecosystem. In a region where the majority of people depend on farming or raising animals, droughts inevitably have very negative consequences. "The first wave would hit Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda over 2013-15, and the second wave of drought would hit all the remaining countries in the region over 2016-18. "In line with previous studies, drought is modelled as a temporary shock to productivity in agriculture. Consistent with similar historical shocks, a level of productivity shock is chosen that would reduce agricultural output initially by around 10 per cent compared to the pre-shock level." It added, "Subsequently, productivity recovers to its pre-shock level over the next two years. Following the drop in agricultural output, prices of agricultural produce and food increase much faster than the equivalent baseline numbers. "For Ethiopia, Nigeria, or Zambia, the initial shock results in an increase in agricultural and food prices by an additional 15 per cent. Is it not in Primary and secondary schools that people are supposed to get the foundation of English language? |

What it means is that if ASUU continues with their NANS-like militancy, there will be no academic activities in public universities for the rest of this year and well into 2014. And government will never pay ASUU the salaries for all the months of zero academic activity. ASUU will be great losers if they don't immediately call off the strike now and they will regret it for a long time to come. If they miss the opportunity of resuming academic activities in October, is it in December that they will resume? Who will care the hell about ASUU calling off their strike once we are in the second half of November? Look at what is currently happening in USA, world's largest economy, and you will see that the whole world is very close to big trouble. Imagine what USA will become if it gets involved in a major war, with its current economic shape. If ASUU continues on its current path and goes into 2014, there will be lots of regrets. |

Wednesday, October 2, 2013 As the "indefinite strike" embarked upon by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over a 2009 Agreement with the Federal Government moves into its third month, the initial support for the strike by Nigerians has been waning. The Prelate of the Church of Nigeria, Archbishop Nicholas Okoh, even called on the Federal Government to disband ASUU or restrict its activities to individual universities, saying organisations like ASUU do not exist anywhere in the world. He claimed that while the strike subsisted, ASUU members were busy teaching in private universities and earning money. This is, to say the least, very sad and sobering. It is no longer possible to dismiss the suspicion that ASUU is playing politics with the strike because of its adamant position in the face of the conciliatory approach taken by the Federal Government. On Friday, August 23, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation met with the Vice Chancellors and chairmen of councils of public universities to disburse N100 billion for the implementation of the first phase projects listed in the Needs Assessment Report of Universities and N30 billion to support federal university councils in the payment of "earned allowances'' to deserving staff. The earned allowances are post-graduate supervision allowance, teaching practice/industrial supervision/field trip allowance, honorarium for external/internal examination (postgraduate theses), honorarium for external moderation of undergraduate and postgraduate examinations, postgraduate study grant, external assessment of readers or professors, call duty, clinical duty or hazard, responsibility allowance and excess workload allowance. The foregoing compels us to ask some pertinent questions. Are the professors and other qualified academics not currently being paid allowances by their respective universities for postgraduate supervision and all the other regime of earned allowances listed above? When professors assess their colleagues for readership or professorship, are they not paid honoraria by the universities that invite them? If lecturers have to be paid excess workload allowance for teaching extra courses, having extra student populations and marking extra scripts, what are they employed for in the first place? Are Heads of Department, Deans and other lecturers carrying out administrative duties not currently being paid responsibility allowance? How then does anyone situate the double payment inherent in the current claims, in the first place? It is an open secret that most of the professors are also "adjunct professors'' in many other universities, earning substantial income apart from their substantive appointments in their home universities. There is in fact the reported case of a Fine Arts professor who is also an adjunct professor in five other universities. How can such an academic have time to carry out his primary responsibilities in his home university? Can he have time for postgraduate students in his home university? Yet, these academics are reportedly claiming fat earned allowances. It is even alleged that ridiculous estimates of earned allowances have been prepared in the universities across the country. When a lecturer on consolidated salary of less than N5 million is claiming over N10 million earned allowances, something is wrong somewhere. We fully endorse the government's position that the so-called earned allowances and excess workload claims should be verified to ensure that only those with legitimate claims are paid, contrary to ASUU's position that the payment should be made across board. That position is in itself symptomatic of deep-seated criminality and perverse values. On the other aspects of the agreement, we are of the view that the government has substantially demonstrated enough commitment for ASUU to shift ground and return to the classrooms. The Consolidated Salary Structure has been implemented fully and teaching and non-teaching staff have been on the consolidated salary since 2009. Government has also contributed its own counterpart funding of N250 million, in addition to other administrative support. Although education is on the concurrent list, government has always assisted state universities through the federal intervention agencies. The present special revitalisation programme covers both state and federal universities. On the request for transfer of Federal Government landed property to universities, we do not agree with ASUU that government should transfer its landed properties to ASUU whether or not it can manage such property. The Federal Government is the employer of ASUU and not the other way round. The issue of the National Health Insurance Scheme has been implemented. The clamour by professors and readers for retirement at age 70 has also been met. The Budget Monitoring Committee (BMC) demand has been met, as the universities have been directed to establish BMCs. Apart form members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), ASUU is another institution that maltreats its junior members. Some senior ASUU members are a threat to their junior colleagues, which is why some of the latter spend more than a decade acquiring a doctorate degree. ASUU members not only delay postgraduate students, they delay their members by refusing to assess them for readership or professorship for several years. It is a fact that some professors abandon their duties to their subordinates so that they can have time for their multiple engagements. These acts of sabotage, and not government's failures alone, are the things that destroy the university system. ASUU should stop holding the entire nation to ransom. Students, their parents and the general public are tired of their antics. However, ASUU members should stop comparing themselves with politicians. Now the hand pulled back out of the room, then it wound up and thrust the angels toward the earth. A HEART OF DESPERATION September 26, 2013 I am calling those who are called by My name to come before Me in humble desperation for I am preparing a bride who will deny themselves of the luxuries of this present age and would be willing to come before Me with fasting and prayer to seek My face as to the coming atrocities of the hour upon the earth. For the enemy is mad. He's coming forth as a roaring lion seeking all who he can devour, but this is not only what he plans to do. He's preparing to lead astray those who are not totally committed to My will and My ways. For it is not possible for one to walk with one foot in the world and the other one in My kingdom. You have to make up your mind before it is too late to know whom you will serve. For many shall say "for me and my household, we shall serve the Lord." But what kind of example do these heads of households portray? Are they feasting upon My word like it is their last meal, or do they act like tomorrow will never come when they have to prepare for the seriousness of the hour? I call you to My side because I love you and need to warn you that it is getting late. You are running out of time that you would be able to prepare with fasting and prayer. I've called you to this hour many times before, but you feel you have much time before all hell breaks loose upon the earth. It is here and it will only get worse. In order to see a great move of My spirit you need to be desperate for it. You can't be feasting upon that which I abhor. You must have a heart after My own heart and to love what I love and hate what I hate to be truly Mine. A warrior cannot be entangled with the affairs of the world. Their eyes must be fixed straight ahead at the present hour watching at all times with head set like flint with determination to tear down the strongholds of the enemy. No more are you to go about idly wasting your time over trivial matters and empty vain things. You must concentrate on that which builds up My kingdom and tears down that of man. A holy desperation I will put within you if you cry out for it. Not only desperation but determination to pull down the enemy's plan over your own life and to build up a fortress of My word for you to dwell. You need to hide yourself in My secret place underneath the shadow of My wing. For yes, My child, you need to draw close to My side close enough to hear My heart beating for you, close enough to hear My still small voice. Yes, you need to spend much time with Me walking and talking with Me in the cool of the day for soon fire will fall from the sky and the blast of bombs everywhere. There will be chaos and panic and lack everywhere you turn. You must have developed a relationship where you truly know Me and My ways and especially know My voice. For this kind of walk with Me does not develop over night! If you have not begun this walk of faith, now is the hour to prepare. It is not too late, but very close to it. My door to this opportunity will draw to a close. Many will have to go through the fire of tribulation to be tried as pure gold just because they have not put Me first in their life. Those who have truly walked with Me have already paid the price of having a true commitment. Here is the American prophecy referred to above: The following is information given by God to his prophet, Chuck Youngbrandt As described in Revelation chapters 17 and 18, Judgment will come on Babylon the Great, and we believe it will commence very soon. We understand Babylon the Great to be America. The reasons for Judgment are given within those verses and are obvious to all with a sense of God's point of view and His character. And, national moral error always has its national consequences. God judges nations while they are yet a nation. Chuck divides the Judgment into a three year progression. We will assume the Judgment will start in the year 2014. It will progress into an enemy occupation of America lasting seven years. At the end of the seven years, the occupying armies will be driven out. Weatherwise the year will start with a very rainy spring. On June 9th it gets very hot and no rain with resulting crop failures. In October it will begin to be very very cold. There will be volcanic eruption on the west coast. A destructive hurricane will hit the New Orleans area in September, followed on the 19th by an earthquake in St. Louis. This hurricane, [Sept in New Orleans,] is a sign that in the following December an accidental Russian firing of a nuclear missile attack on America will occur. While the Russians try to stop them, 4 get through. They hit Lexington KY, Columbia SC, Richmond VA, and just north of New York City. The U.S. counter attacks and hits three Russian cities. In this year North Korea will attack South Korea, China attacks Taiwan. War again in the Persian Gulf where we loose. The stock market will start its fall in July and will result in one half the people being out of work with great inflation and coupled with food shortages, starvation will start. From other prophets like Dan Bolher, terrorist attacks will become common. The destruction of trains, planes, school busses, power plants and on and on. With our economy reduced, fuel will be in short supply. Food riots will start in August, August will be a real turning point. Those who are rebellious against God will now rebel against the government including the communists fifth columnists we have here. Military troops will have to be called out as a result. Some will repent but many will continue in rebellion. God said 90% of the rebellious and disobedient church people will die during this time. What sounds like germ warfare or at least a plague breaks out in California and Georgia killing thousands as it spreads, panic and fear will result.
