ayobase: We won't be bothered about what they receive if they are INDEED doing their work!Whether they do their work or not, we should be bothered about what they are paid. What percentage of the country's population do they represent? In what way is their service to the country more important than the service of school teachers? |
Good development! Whether Ngige or Soludo wins, Anambra will surely get a better governor than Peter Obi and not a worse than Peter Obi governor. The future looks bright. If APGA does not present Soludo as their candidate, Ngige automatically wins. |
peppy luv: Tout,u are only relevant on facebook and nairalandSmall girl, continue with your youthful exuberance. When the trouble begins, you will be one of the women (and children) that will be the most vulnerable. Ifeajuna and Nzeogwu carried out the January 1966 coup based on youthful exuberance. They thought that Awolowo was the right person to lead Nigeria; they carried out the coup in order to install Awolowo as the leader of Nigeria. Their youthful madness made them to think that it was right. Today Igbos are living with the fallout from Ifeajuna and Nzeogwu's coup. Small girls and boys, like you, post anything they like on NL and Facebook without any knowledge of the possible consequences of what they are posting. For your information, I was a Biafran baby (small child). A lot of my age mates perished very prematurely because of what Ifeajuna and Nzeogwu did out of youthful exuberance. |
simpleseyi: Nigeria will never ever have an Igbo president. Never ever, read my lips. Hausa/Fulani will never vote for you neither will Yorubas. You can be president of your Biafran republic.Igbos should actually forget about Nigeria's presidency. Even though many Igbos do not believe in biblical end time, the reality is that end time is about to begin. http://www.unsealed.org/2013/02/tribulation-2014-2021-rapture-this-year.html De. 28:58 If you do not carefully follow all the words of this law, which are written in this book, and do not revere this glorious and awesome name — the LORD your God — De. 28:64 Then the LORD will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods — gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known. De. 28:65 Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place for the sole of your foot. There the LORD will give you an anxious mind, eyes weary with longing, and a despairing heart. As the world enters biblical end time, the best thing for Igbos to do is to turn their hearts toward God; otherwise, they will suffer terribly during the end time tribulations. Involvement in Nigeria's politics will not help Igbos at all. |
Nigeria is heading for a great improvement; with all these truths coming out. |
Obasanjo was much better than the military rulers that preceded him. He operated based on the amount of light that existed by the time he ruled. People may easily forget the level of darkness that existed just before his presidency. He was able to increase the light of the nation somewhat. Presidents that come after him are supposed to increase the light further. I think that Johnathan is doing just that. |
Kei144: Ro. 5:17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.https://www.nairaland.com/1383191/perfection-must-attained-get-heaven/1#17368350 |
Ro. 5:17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. Righteousness is a gift. God has already released the gift; anyone who receives it and puts it to use becomes perfect. Christ (Holy Spirit) is our righteousness. To receive righteousness means to receive the spirit of holiness (Holy Spirit). In order to receive the Holy Spirit, one must be baptized into Jesus Christ. After baptism, the person has to receive the Holy Spirit daily. Jn. 6:53 Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. The way I personally receive the Holy Spirit daily is to ask God to feed my soul with His flesh and to give His blood to my soul to drink. Through this prayer, an image of God is being formed in me. God is made up of spiritual flesh and blood. Ep. 4:22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; Ep. 4:23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; Ep. 4:24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. As an image of God is being formed in you, you have to make use of Christ in you to put off your old self. I personally do this by asking God to put to death the sinful aspects of me through His spirit that is in me--Rom 8:13. You also have to adopt a mindset that loves righteousness and hates iniquity. Then you have to put on the new self, which is the character of Jesus Christ. I personally do this by asking God to produce the fruit of the Spirit in me through Christ that is in me. I ask that my heart be ruled by virtues of love, joy, peace, goodness, self control, patience, perseverance and the like--Gal 5:22. Anyone who continues to do what I have written here all the days of his/her life will rise up to perfection. This is the revival that Nigerians (Igbos) will teach the world. Revive yourself now! |
Jn. 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. There is a lot of confusion in Christendom and the reason can be seen in Jn 17:3. Jn 17:3 states that one can be sure of eternal life only after really knowing God and Jesus Christ. Who or what is God and who or what is Jesus Christ? Scientists and engineers have made great progress in science and technology, but people that specialize in divinity have made very little progress. That is why there is a lot of confusion in the churches. That is why the practice in the churches is quite different from Jesus, who is the Truth, the way and the life. Can anyone look at the churches and say that they are like Jesus? Jn. 12:24 I tell you the truth, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Jesus death and resurrection was supposed to produce many people who are like Jesus. Where are they? That is why a great move of God is about to take place on earth. White evangelists and prophets say that Nigeria will spearhead this move of God or great end-time revival. This revival takes place during the birth pangs (Mt 8:8, Rev 12:2). There are strong indications that this revival will begin by April 2014. http://www.unsealed.org/2013/02/tribulation-2014-2021-rapture-this-year.html If you want to know how to be born again, download and read this ebook. http://pdfcast.org/pdf/sons-of-god |
Ayoobscom: Anytime I come across one-sided story like this I just wandered how does the Fulani just woke up and start attacking igbos? Impossible.Igbos are harmless cowards. How can they possibly kill AK47-wielding fulanis? |
One of the most insulting things you can say to a person is, "I will Bleep your mother." In this case it is not just saying it, but actually doing it. |
It is high time Nigerians started facing some responsibilities. You want to live in a megacity? You have to pay the price. Don't go to a megacity and live as if you are in a village. Do you want to live in South Africa? Go there and urinate by the road side, even on a highway where there is no house nearby but only bushes, and see what the Police will do to you if they catch you. |
It is unfortunate that what Igbos understand as development is only building of conference centres, shoprite malls and roads. Could not Igbo state governments organise economic development conferences so that knowledgeable people could present developmental ideas that will transform Igboland? |
ASUU members are Nigerians. Nigerians that occupy public positions as public (or civil) servants do not care about the interest of the public, but only their own interests. Nigeria will go nowhere until that attitude is changed. |
I agree that Igbos should forget the old Eastern Region because that old region is forever dead. Unfortunately, many Igbos will not understand because they think about South-South oil. Oil is not what will make the Igbos great. End time is about to begin and all eyes in the whole world will turn to Igbo, not because of oil or business, but because of What God will do with Igbos. Then the whole world will realize that Israelites among Igbos are not inferior to the white Jews. |
This is good. Ibos, Hausa, and Fulanis come to seek refuge and success in Yorubaland daily without respecting its host and its host's culture and tradition. Ibos cannot and should not be allowed to use force to intimidate Lagoshians. What Ibos want Fashola to do would not be asked of Igbo govs by Igbos. Igbo govs have NEVER included Yorubas and Non-Igbos in its politics or federal positions. Yorubas need to stick together on this one. Enough is enough!
Like one poster has repeatedly posted on this thread, this is a blessing in disguise. Igbos need to change course. The course we are following now was dictated by our defeat in the Biafran war. Now, we need a change of course. The handwriting has been on the wall for a long time; Boko Haram, now Yorubas. |
9,000 are those with Nigerian passports. I heard that a lot of Nigerians in foreign prisons have passports of other nations. Our Nigerian consulates do not account for those ones. |
Igbos on this forum should be careful how they attack Fashola on this issue of deportation. This is a governor that has an Igbo as one his commissioners. And there is one issue Igbo commentators on this issue has not raised up, and that is the issue of the action taken by the Anambra state government officials when Lagos State govt officials wrote a letter to them. Did the officials of Anambra State govt behave as if they were representing the interest of Anambra State and Igbo people, by the way they responded to the request by Lagos state govt officials to come to Ikorodu and meet the destitutes? Some people may not understand the issue that I am raising here. One of the problems with Nigeria's public service is that the people that are supposed to be public (or civil) servants sit in their positions only to pursue self interests. They don't care about the interest of the public that they are supposed to serve. This neglect of the interest of the public is the sickness that is killing the Nigerian nation. The officials of Anambra State liaison office displayed this sickness in the issue at stake. I still seriously doubt if they considered the matter serious enough to communicate it to Gov Peter Obi, which is why Peter Obi was ignorant of the whole thing. If the Lagos State govt had written to inform them that they were conferring some honour on Emeka Offor and so were requesting them to be at the occasion, they would rush to be there. But for destitutes, what is in it for them? |
I have not gone through this thread, but having looked at the letters published on this page, I think the problem is that the officials of the Anambra State liaison office did not bother to go to the rehab centre; they stayed in their air-conditioned offices to write and dispatch letters to the officials of the Lagos State government. I also think that the Anambra State liaison office most likely never communicated the letter to Gov Peter Obi. Going by the hatred being spewed out against Igbos on this site, it is clear that Igbos need to gradually withdraw from other parts of Nigeria. A major pogrom against Igbos is not impossible in the near future. Igbos need to cut down their excessive ambitions and accept less materialistic life, so that they could humbly retreat back to Igboland and learn to make do with whatever that is available in Igboland. This, in fact, is the most realistic way to eventually establish Biafra. Before the British came to form Nigeria, Igbos lived wholly within Igboland and made do with whatever resources that were available. Creation of Nigeria made Igbos to venture out of their native domain. That venturing out has brought a lot of calamities to Igbos. In fact, the Nigeria project is a failure. In view of this reality, Igbos should do the opposite of venturing out of their native land. The world is entering the end time and there will be a lot of trouble. Wise Igbos should not allow the coming trouble to catch them outside Igboland; it will be very bloody. |
Mgbadike80: peter obi is in APGA and his pro did not credit him for being solely responsible for the success. The caption of this thread is misleading. Pls those ppl singing privatization should go and sit down. The government after pumping trillions of dollars(not even naira) from obasanjos era till now eventually sells it at give away prices to private individuals. The worst part is the way they increased the cost of electricity beyond reasonable limit thereby killing many local businesses that depend on it to survive. Only a fool will fail to notice the presence of government sponsored propagandists on this forum.Which business depends on PHCN? Even if the cost of electricity increases by 100%, it will still be far better than the financial and healthcare cost of using generators to support PHCN's dubious power supply. |
Youngtekkey: u are a fool which of ur institutions can meet up OAU GO CHECK THE LIST OF BEST UNIVERSITIES IN NIGERIA AND EVEN IN AFRICAN THEN U WILL SEE THAT YORUBA UNIVERSITIES SUPER HEAD THOSE UP SO CALLED UNIVERSITY THAT PRODUCE GREAT PEOPLEThe reality is that Nigeria's educational system is dysfunctional, including all the universities. The condition of Nigeria today is a result of its educational system. |
Chitexs250: Am still saying it and will continue to say it except the future might prove me wrong some dayHow do you measure the goodness of a presidency? It is unfortunate that most Nigerians have never experienced other countries. In what ways did Yar'Adua move Nigeria towards becoming a functional modern day nation? Of all the people that have ruled this country after Yakubu Gowon, Obasanjo was the first to start moving this country towards functioning properly. It is only unfortunate that he derailed along the way; he started very wonderfully well. After Obasanjo, GEJ is the next person that is moving Nigeria towards great progress. The mere fact that he knows that the key to Nigeria's development is steady electricity supply and that he is doing something about it, places him in the position of possibly being the best president ever. Consider the issue of reducing corruption, many may have forgotten the extent of corruption in NITEL; very much like you find in PHCN today. Obasanjo ended NITEL's corruption without hanging any person for being corrupt. He simply enabled a functional telecoms system to come into being and telecoms corruption reduced sharply. If GEJ takes care of electricity supply, next in line should be the Police, followed by the universities. |
awodman: The same Ngige that could not tender a single bill for two years or even oppose some evil bills is now claiming a federal project...Who doesn't know NIPP projects are jointly sponsored by Federal, state and Local govts..look @ how he mischievously termed it an IPP project...The bolded is great news. PHCN workers, killers of Nigeria's progress, should be eased out of the electricity supply system. Any of the private companies that employs former PHCN workers is doing so to their own peril. |
Ada Nri1: They should just come home. Nigerians are hardworking but our opportunistic and selfish politicians don't care about making life easy for people. That's why GEJ feeds himself n his family with a billion and our senators keep increasing their allowance and building bigger houses. It won't be for long, the tides will riseStop blaming politicians. Nigerians are alike in character, politician or no politician. We are a rotten people. A few months ago, I read on some international media what steady electricity supply can do to Nigeria; most importantly, how it will increase productivity, which will help to reduce unemployment. Then I remembered how shocked I was when former Speaker of House of Reps, Bankole, cautioned that any improvement of electricity supply in Nigeria must give some room to the booming generator market in Nigeria, so that it will not die. Then I thought that politicians were the ones killing Nigeria. Then, this very week, after going through the NL thread about 3 weeks of uninterrupted electricity in Anambra, I complained to some people that the power supply is not really uninterrupted since it goes off for about 6 hours each day. Someone now revealed that the 6 hours of blackout is to enable Filling Stations to sell their petrol and diesel to gen set owners. The owners of the Filling Stations bribe NEPA officials to do this evil. |
Nigeria must go! |
bobthebuilder99: Because then the Igbo wouldn't get to cry discrimination all the time, and we all know they love to cry discrimination as much as they like to make ridiculous claims (like being Jewish, or contributing 600 trillion to the economy when our entire GDP is only around 40 trillion). You think that Igbos are just claiming Jewish ancestry; what about Jews claiming that Igbos are Jews? http://www.re-emergingfilm.com./ |
I personally would like something serious enough to dissuade Igbos and other Nigerians from senseless immigration. A person is not sure what s/he is going to do in a foreign land, yet s/he immigrates to the place only to face untold hardship. The result is always that the person puts his/her hands into shameful activities that put their native lands to shame. |
