People argue about natural and spiritual Israelites, but the 144,000 is actually a fulfillment of God’s promise to ancient Israel. The promise was never extended to gentiles; however; gentiles will benefit a lot. Ez. 36:16 Again the word of the LORD came to me: Ez. 36:17 “Son of man, when the people of Israel were living in their own land, they defiled it by their conduct and their actions. Their conduct was like a woman’s monthly uncleanness in my sight. Ez. 36:18 So I poured out my wrath on them because they had shed blood in the land and because they had defiled it with their idols. Ez. 36:19 I dispersed them among the nations, and they were scattered through the countries; I judged them according to their conduct and their actions. Ez. 36:23 I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Sovereign LORD, when I show myself holy through you before their eyes. You see, God promised that even though Jews would profane His name among the nations, He will ultimately show Himself holy to the nations through the same Jews. God will show Himself holy to the world through the 144,000 Israelites. See how Apostle Paul implicitly referred to the same issue: Ro. 11:1 I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. Ro. 11:15 For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? Ro. 11:16 If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches. Ro. 11:17 If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, Ro. 11:18 do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. God’s will for the Church is that the Church becomes perfect. Why has the church found it impossible to be perfect after existing for nearly two millennia? Apostle Paul gives us the reason. Israel is the root of the Church; gentile Christians are unnatural branches grafted into natural Israel. The root must first of all be holy in order for the whole tree to become holy. Since it is not possible for all natural Israel to become holy, God wants to make some firstfruits of natural Israel holy, so that the rest of the Church could become holy. |

The firstfruits from among men that will be offered to God at the beginning of end time are all descendants of ancient Israelites. I have reason to believe that the sealing of the 144,000 Israelites will take place by Passover 2014. Passover is on April 14 and between now and then, the selection of the 144,000 will take place. Over the years I got to know that I will play the role of inviting people to become members of the 144,000. Now, the time has come and I just have to fulfill my calling. Here I will just present the preliminary qualification, or what may be called the necessary (but not sufficient) qualifications for membership of the 144,000. Actually, there is one and only one qualification required, and that is being blameless (perfect)—Rev 14:5. However, the road to perfection has different stages and I want to regard each stage as a qualification of its own. |

Unlike water baptism, Holy Spirit is not something that is received once in a life time. The Holy Spirit should be prayed for and received everyday; if possible, several times in a day. While Israelites journeyed to the Promised Land, they were always under the cloud; but they passed through the sea only once. So, just ask God to give you the Holy Spirit, every morning, and believe that He has given you. You don't need speaking in tongues as an evidence. The main issue really is what you do with the Holy Spirit that God has given you. God doesn't give the Holy Spirit just for people to blow tongues. |

One factor no-one has mentioned is IQ. I once read, even here on Nairaland, that the average IQ of Nigerians is 67.That happens to be the cause of Nigeria's poverty. Low IQ leaders cannot move the country towards prosperity. Low IQ citizens are unenterprising. Low IQ youths do follow-follow--they want to be like others, without considering the benefits. Years ago when I was a fresher in a Nigerian university, I and my fellow freshers gathered in a room in a hostel and one of us who claimed to know a lot about girls began to tell us what it took to maintain a girl friend in the university. He listed some of the things people have posted on this thread. I was 18-19 then and I wasn't so financially buoyant and I was very interested in my academics. After hearing what was listed as requirements for maintaining a girl friend in the university, I made up my mind that it means that girl friend was not for me. I actually did a five-year course in the university; there were girls that showed some interest in me, but I never got into any relationship. I was friendly with many, but relationship was no-go. I never minded that other boys had girl friends. It takes reasonable IQ for a person to decide for her/himself what is good for her/him and keep to it no matter what others are doing. 4 Likes |

The finger of God is extremely powerful; there is nothing it cannot do. God has therefore extended His powerful finger to you so that you could control it by words of your mouth. Mt. 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” There are infinite possibilities with the Holy Spirit. What we can do through Him depends on our knowledge of the promises of God and our imagination. Brother, since you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you are carrying the greatest power in this world. Begin to use the Holy Spirit to heal people, reconcile people to God, etc., and your Christian life will become very vibrant. The two signs deal with astronomy. How do we know that there will be tetrad of blood moons from 2014 to 2015 and that the sign of Revelation 12 will occur on 23rd September, 2017? Is it not with the aid of Astronomy computer simulation software? You talk about curing cancer and AIDS, you do not know that scientists who are researching on cure for all these sicknesses are wasting their energy. God provided spiritual cure for all diseases long ago. If you know any person suffering from cancer or AIDS, ask the person to contact me through Nairaland email system. If the person contacts me, I will instruct him/her on how to receive healing from God. Alternatively, the person should contact me through a Holy Spirit filled Christian; I will instruct the Christian on how to heal the cancer or AIDS sufferer. We are now in 2014 and I want to state it clearly here that the world will change dramatically as from the middle of April 2014. Nigeria will also change dramatically. This thread is not a joke. Do not compare what I have presented in this thread with the May 21, 2011 prediction of Harold Camping. Harold Camping's prediction did not involve Astronomy computer simulation software, used by NASA, accurately discovering that the sign of Revelation 12 will occur on 23rd September, 2017. This is an event that must happen; nothing can change its date from 23rd September, 2017. This is not a case of somebody doing some arithmetic based on some information he read in the Bible and thereby coming up with a date; we are talking about astronomical events that must happen at the times that I have indicated in this thread. I am surprised that people cannot see that end time has finally arrived. |

The reason is that while Adam was in the Garden of God, he had constant supply of divine life, which would have made him to live forever. But then God kicked him out of his garden; he became disconnected from the source of life. Even though he was full of life then, exponential decay set in. Fortunately, the rate of depletion of life then was quite low, probably due to low amount of sin and climatic conditions. Over the centuries and millennia, the rate of depletion of life worsened, as sin increased and climatic conditions worsened, leading to reduced lifespan. |

Water vapor at the outermost part of the atmosphere would be the first to condense. With time, water vapor in every section of the atmosphere began to condense and both centripetal and centrifugal forces were at work. Centripetal force pulled condensed water down to the earth crust, while centrifugal force forced water that condensed in the upper atmosphere towards to rim of the atmosphere, so that a thin layer of water actually surrounded the atmosphere. That is Ge 1:6 for you. An expanse of air now separated the water on the ground (earth crust) from the water above the atmosphere. Ge. 2:4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens — Ge. 2:5 and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth [Or land; also in verse 6] and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth [Or land; also in verse 6] and there was no man to work the ground, Ge. 2:6 but streams [Or mist] came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground — While water above the atmosphere surrounded the earth, the earth was more like a greenhouse. Weather (temperature) everywhere was the same. The water on the ground was very small; so, rain was impossible. Wind was not possible because wind requires temperature, and hence pressure, difference. It was also not possible to see the sun directly from the ground because the sun was shielded by the water above the atmosphere. All the harsh weather you see today was nonexistent. The weather was mild and always the same. That may explain why people lived close to 1,000 years. Ge. 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month — on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. Ge. 7:12 And rain fell on the earth for forty days and forty nights. Can you imagine a little child who puts his finger in detergent water and brings out the hand from the water separating the thumb from the first finger and then blows on the film that forms between the thumb and first finger thereby creating a big bubble, which he now proudly shows off to another child? Can you imagine the other child putting his finger in the bubble, causing the bubble to collapse? That was what led to Noah's flood. God pierced the water above the atmosphere (probably using an asteroid, a meteorite, or whatever) and air that was trapped beneath the water rushed above the water. The water collapsed, leading to the deluge. The initial time of this water collapse was phenomenal. Thermodynamics experts can easily model it with appropriate dynamical equations. Since the centrifugal force was least at the poles, most of the initial fall of water came down at the poles with attending thermodynamical reaction that froze everything instantaneously. That is why animals that should more appropriately belong to warmer parts of the earth are found frozen in Siberia, Russia. When the animals frozen in the ice of Siberia are dug out, freshly-eaten leaves are discovered in their stomachs, meaning that these animals had just finished eating the leaves when they were frozen to death. As fell from the sky, God also caused the springs of the great deep (molten lava) to burst forth. This means massive volcanic action and earthquake, which made huge parts of the earth crust to depress and some other parts to rise up. The excess water that fell from the sky ultimately collected in the huge depressions, forming oceans and seas. The raised portions of the earth crust formed the continents. The purpose of this thread is not to judge the people of God. During the end time, the gospel of the kingdom will be preached all over the world (Mt 24:14). The gospel of the kingdom of God is all about the demonstration of God's power. That is what Jesus' earthly ministry was all about. It is the demonstration of God's power that will save many Christians during the harsh years of end-time tribulations that commences in 2014. People will abandon talk-talk Christianity when end time begins. The aim of this thread is to start getting the people of God ready. |

How do you know that you are born again? Do you claim to be born again because your pastor, priest or one preacher said so? What concrete evidence, backed by the Holy Bible, do you have that shows that you are really born again? Let us now see what make some people to believe that they are born again. Water baptism In many churches, including the Roman Catholic Church and Anglican Church, once you were baptized (even when you were baby), you are born again. That is the only evidence that they have that they are born again. But this is what the Holy Bible says: Jn. 3:4 “How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb to be born!” Jn. 3:5 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no-one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. The Holy Bible says that both water and Holy Spirit baptism are necessary in order to become born again. Apart from that, these baptisms must be done in agreement with the Bible. Who in the early Church (the book of Acts) was born again this way? Or have today’s Christians invented a new gospel? Clear evidence that a person is born again is when the person lives a holy life, for which reason the person’s life is filled with peace and joy, irrespective of the condition of things around her/him. That is the life of a person who believes that God is always with her/him and that God will definitely cause all things (no matter their appearance) to work together for her/his own good. Prosperity (eating and drinking) is not evidence that God is with a person. Going through life without much difficulties is not evidence that God is with a person; in fact, the contrary is the case. 1Co. 4:20 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. Mk. 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; Mk. 16:18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” So much of Christianity and other religions is about talking and talking. But being born again should be more about the demonstration of divine power. You that call yourself a born-again, how many of the signs of Mk 16:17-18 follow you? Or is your own born again all about talking and making claims that you cannot prove? It is high time people started taking Jesus’ word literarily and seriously. The Igbos have a saying that you have to see the crops in the farm before expecting to see the harvest in the barn. A lot of Christians talk about how they will be snatched up to heaven (rapture) by the power of God, but we never ever see evidence that the power of God is in them. Re. 6:1 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” Re. 6:2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest. The first end-time event is the opening of the first seal. The Antichrist begins his work as a man of peace. He becomes instrumental to the signing of peace treaty between Israel and Palestine. Timing of the breaking of the first seal should be April 2014. Re. 6:3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” Re. 6:4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword. When Jesus opens the second seal, war begins to reign on earth (Mt 24:7). The second seal may be opened by May 2014. Re. 6:5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Re. 6:6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “A quart of wheat for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” When Jesus opens the third seal, there will be great famine. Based on a prophecy I know that describes USA during the end-time tribulations, I can say that the main cause of the famine will be serious drought, coupled to the ongoing wars. The world economy will collapse and demand for oil will reduce drastically. An understanding of Gen 1:6 is necessary in order to understand what happened during Noah's flood. In my form 1 in secondary school, we started Geography as follows:"The earth was once a part of the sun. It broke away (the big bang theory) as a very hot mass and has been cooling ever since." As the cooling process continued, you now get to Genesis 1. At a stage, the earth crust formed, but water was still in gaseous form. Water vapor at the outermost part of the atmosphere would be the first to condense. The condensed water was held at the outermost part of the atmosphere by centrifugal force due to the rotation of the earth. With time, water vapor in every section of the atmosphere began to condense and both centripetal and centrifugal forces were at work. Centripetal force pulled condensed water down to the earth crust, while centrifugal force forced water that condensed in the upper atmosphere towards to rim of the atmosphere, so that a thin layer of water actually surrounded the atmosphere. That is Ge 1:6 for you. An expanse of air now separated the water on the ground (earth crust) from the water above the atmosphere. Ge. 2:4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens — Ge. 2:5 and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth [Or land; also in verse 6] and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth [Or land; also in verse 6] and there was no man to work the ground, Ge. 2:6 but streams [Or mist] came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground — While water above the atmosphere surrounded the earth, the earth was more like a greenhouse. Weather (temperature) everywhere was the same. The water on the ground was very small; so, rain was impossible. Wind was not possible because wind requires temperature, and hence pressure, difference. It was also not possible to see the sun directly from the ground because the sun was shielded by the water above the atmosphere. All the harsh weather you see today was nonexistent. The weather was mild and always the same. That may explain why people lived close to 1,000 years. Ge. 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month — on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened. Ge. 7:12 And rain fell on the earth for forty days and forty nights. Can you imagine a little child who puts his finger in detergent water and brings out the hand from the water separating the thumb from the first finger and then blows on the film that forms between the thumb and first finger thereby creating a big bubble, which he now proudly shows off to another child? Can you imagine the other child putting his finger in the bubble, causing the bubble to collapse? That was what led to Noah's flood. God pierced the water above the atmosphere (probably using an asteroid, a meteorite, or whatever) and air that was trapped beneath the water rushed above the water. The water collapsed, leading to the deluge. The initial time of this water collapse was phenomenal. Thermodynamics experts can easily model it with appropriate dynamical equations. Since the centrifugal force was least at the poles, most of the initial fall of water came down at the poles with attending thermodynamical reaction that froze everything instantaneously. That is why animals that should more appropriately belong to warmer parts of the earth are found frozen in Siberia, Russia. When the animals frozen in the ice of Siberia are dug out, freshly-eaten leaves are discovered in their stomachs, meaning that these animals had just finished eating the leaves when they were frozen to death. As fell from the sky, God also caused the springs of the great deep (molten lava) to burst forth. This means massive volcanic action and earthquake, which made huge parts of the earth crust to depress and some other parts to rise up. The excess water that fell from the sky ultimately collected in the huge depressions, forming oceans and seas. The raised portions of the earth crust formed the continents. Some people try to distance science from Bible, but without knowledge of science, you won't be able to understand what I have described here; a great proof that the Bible is accurate. |

While Jesus was on earth, He was fully a man, greatly anointed with the Spirit of God. After His resurrection from the dead, He became an express image of the living God--He is in every sense God. Mk. 10:17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Mk. 10:18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No-one is good — except God alone. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits [Or the sevenfold Spirit] of God sent out into all the earth. Let me use this opportunity to explain Col 1:16 quoted above. Christians use this verse and others like it to argue that Jesus existed in eternity past. Heb 1:4 talks about the name that Jesus inherited. "Inheritance" is the key to understanding everyone who is in Christ, starting with Jesus Himself. God Himself is pictured in the spirit realm to be a rocky mountain (Dan 2:45, Rev 4:3). Rev 4:3 (NIV) says that God has the appearance of jasper and carnelian; these are rocky substances. Dan 2:45 shows that a rock came out of the mountain. The Rock is an arm of God. When God wants to give a human being inheritance (as His Son), He hews a stone from His arm (the Rock) and puts the stone in the human being. The human being has now received the divine essence--he is now absolutely like God. The human being now exists in both eternity past and eternity future. Yet this godliness starts at a particular time; before that time this godliness did not exist. But once the godliness begins, the person who possesses the godliness now exists in both eternity past and eternity future; that is what being like God is all about. The stone of God put into the person makes it possible. The description in the preceding paragraph does not only apply to Jesus. Christians (both living and dead) that will participate in the rapture will also receive stone hewed from the Rock of God. And they will also become like God. They will also exist in both eternity past and eternity future. This is the mystery of Christ. 1Jn. 3:2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, [Or when it is made known] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 1Ti. 3:16 Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He [Some manuscripts: God] appeared in a body, [Or in the flesh] was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. 1Pe. 2:4 As you come to him, the living Stone — rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him — 1Pe. 2:5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Re. 2:17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. Ep. 1:18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints. Ep. 5:5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person — such a man is an idolater — has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. [Or kingdom of the Christ and God] He. 9:15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance — now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. 1Pe. 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1Pe. 1:4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade — kept in heaven for you, 1Pe. 1:5 who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. Notice from 1 Pe 1:5 that salvation (giving of the inheritance) will take place in the last time (after the rapture). It is wonderful that many Christians are afraid of end time. In fact, they hate to hear it. But end time means time to receive the inheritance. |

No person in the world today is ready. Ascending to heaven from the land of the living is not as trivial as many Christians think. Eph 5:27 describes the quality of Christians that can do it. Very few or no Christian in the world today fits into Eph 5:27. The churches of today cannot produce the calibre of Christians described in Eph 5:27. In order for Christians of the calibre of Eph 5:27 to arise, Jesus is about to carry out a 3½-year end-time ministry through the 144,000 Israelites. Mt. 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Mt. 24:15 “So when you see standing in the holy place `the abomination that causes desolation’, [Daniel 9:27; 11:31; 12:11] spoken of through the prophet Daniel — let the reader understand — Re. 7:2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: Re. 7:3 “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” Re. 7:4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. Re. 7:5 From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben 12,000, from the tribe of Gad 12,000, Re. 7:6 from the tribe of Asher 12,000, from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000, from the tribe of Manasseh 12,000, Re. 7:7 from the tribe of Simeon 12,000, from the tribe of Levi 12,000, from the tribe of Issachar 12,000, Re. 7:8 from the tribe of Zebulun 12,000, from the tribe of Joseph 12,000, from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. In Mt 24:14, Jesus talks about His end-time ministry. The end-time ministry brings the Church Age to a close (the rapture!). As soon as the end-time ministry ends, Mt 24:15 reveals the rise of the Antichrist. This happens in the middle of the 7-year end-time tribulations. Rev 7:3-8 describes the 144,000 Israelites. The next verse, Rev 7:9, presents the people who make the rapture. They wear white robes; the ministry of the 144,000 Israelites will raise up Christians who are perfect, which the churches of today cannot do. The prodigal son thought that he was better off on his own; away from the father. So, he demanded that the father give him his own inheritance and the father obliged him. He took off and began to enjoy his inheritance. Unfortunately, it wasn't long before his inheritance finished. The Parable of the Prodigal Son is illustrative of what Adam did. He copied Satan and followed a path that disconnected him from God. The life of God (the Anointing) that he enjoyed in the Garden of God eventually got depleted. Since he was no longer connected to God, there was no way to replenish the divine life. Soon enough, diseases and other problems of this world came and he died. He died within the 1,000-year day in which he ate the forbidden fruit. God gave we descendants of Adam the opportunity to get back to Him, through Jesus Christ. Getting back to God (receiving the Spirit of God) is what salvation is all about. Possession of the Spirit of God gives us the potential to be free from sin and death. Without freedom from sin, our nearness to God (possession of the Holy Spirit) cannot last. Sin grieves the Holy Spirit. Ep. 4:22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; Ep. 4:23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; Ep. 4:24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Ep. 4:25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbour, for we are all members of one body. Ep. 4:26 “In your anger do not sin”: [Psalm 4:4] Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, Ep. 4:27 and do not give the devil a foothold. Ep. 4:28 He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. Ep. 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ep. 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ep. 4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Coming to the topic of this thread, people need to realize that the Roman Catholic Church took over from the Early Church. They inherited the teachings of the Early Church; however, a lot of the teachings of the Early Church were misunderstood by the Europeans who took over the Church from the Jews. Hence, you will see some truth in the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, but most of the truth is misrepresented, due to misunderstanding. The Roman Catholic Church is right in their teaching that good works is necessary for salvation; salvation here meaning nearness to God. Without holiness no man can be near to God (Mt 5:3, Heb 12:14). Do not mind those who say that once saved (that is near to God) always saved (that is, always near to God). People who talk about the doctrine of eternal security have never experienced God; they only talk about God. A person who has experience of nearness to God knows what sin can do to nearness to God. Experience is the best teacher. Where the RCC goes wrong in its doctrines is that they view spiritual principles from the worldly (or fleshly) point of view. For example, people condemn the RCC for their doctrine of purgatory. The doctrine of purgatory may not be wrong after all; but the purging of sins from dead saints is a purely spiritual matter and not a matter of floggings and fleshly pain. In the same way, doing acts of holiness is not something that a person does by his/her power, but something that a person has to do by the power of the Holy Spirit. |
