Ok. I shall do that this saturday and keep you posted how far i went. Thanks! |
Sorry nissparts, i started feeling the shift shock after one month of changing the tranny fluid with the coastal atf. That was why i had to drain and fill again with amsoil fully synthetic atf to see if it might bring an improvement on it but it hasn't. Also, i have done repeated diagnosis scan but there is no error code found. No check engine light illuminating on the dash screen. |
Please, for sometime now i am having a slight shift shock in my tranny when its shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd gears. It happens mostly in the morning at cold start, but after driving for some 10 to 15minutes it becomes less or almost gone sometimes. The car moves good. I did changed my tranny fluid sometime in January 12, 2013 with high quality coastal multi-vehicle atf which is ATF M-V complaint. After which i drove it for like a month without any sign of the shift shock before i started feeling it (the shift shock). Recently, on the 16/03/2013, i had to drain and refill the tranny again with 7quarts of high quality Amsoil Synthetic Multi-Vehicle Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF M-V compliant) which i order from the US. And also, i did had the tranny filter and tranny pan cleaned this time. I have done repeated diagnosis scan but there is no error code found. No check engine light illuminating on the dash screen. Despite all these, i am still having the slight shift shock. Please, i need your help or advice. Thanks Car Details: 2007 mazda 6i 2.3L 5speed ATX |
I got my car online. But i did sent a friend based in the US to go and test drive the car before i transferred the money through my friend's account who did the transaction on my behalf. Trust no white man, they could be funny sometimes like some Chinese. The word "Fraud" is an English word, no be naija derive am. Good and bad people are everywhere, not only in naija. |
Check your cabin air filter, it might be dirty and due for a change. It's located somewhere under your glove box on the dash board. |
Some mechanics are so unprofessional. I have often asked some mechanic this question, do they have electric iron and refrigerator at home, why didn't they remove the thermostat from it? Thermostat regulates temperature so as not to over-heat. If you remove a thermostat from a refrigerator, you will observe that the compressor will over-heat as a result it won't cool effectively and it will damage the compressor overtime. Also, a bad thermostat in an electric iron causes it to over-heat and burn clothes. This just a common domestic example of the function of a thermostat. I tell you, thermostat is the life-wire of your engine, do not remove it from your car. Some states in the US where most cars are manufactured has more higher temperature than Nigerian tropical temperature. Pls, go and replace your thermostat in your car. An overheating engine with a thermostat might be an indication that the thermostat is bad and needs to be replaced. |

2003-2006 Toyota Camry 4cyl. (Big daddy). Very rugged, good ground clearance for bad roads, very spacious interior, parts availability, and a considerate fuel economy. Recommended for airport taxi service. |
Very ugly and old fashioned interior. It will be very good for commercial use like cab service because it's a very strong car that can withstand any terrain. |
Pls, where can I buy an oil filter for a 4cyl. 2007 mazda 6 in Lagos? |

Hope you are using the mazda specified ATF because mazda cars transmissions are so sensitive to ATF unless you use the specified one required by the car manufacturer. Most mazda cars use ATF M-V or M-III for 4cylinders, and JWS3309 for 6cylinders. I think most transmission problem(like slippage, delayed engagement & etc) we are having here in Nigeria is because we use the wrong ATF sometimes. Using the right ATF will make your transmission shift smoothly and last longer. |
Go to Tramigo office at Ikeja around Allen Avenue or call Fred at Tramigo on 08067429658. |
@ prost80: I sincerely agree with your point. I did not consider your point when making my comments. And sincerely, your point has really knock me out and all i could say now is that " May God help Nigeria". |
A 3 months imprisonment or a fine of 100,000 and seizure of the vehicle is on the high side for a traffic offense. Instead, i think a one(1) month social work or a fine of 25,000 with a mandatory 7days driver's re-certification and a non-seizure of the vehicle is OK. After all, the vehicle did not drive itself wrongly rather it was operated by a human. I tell you this country Nigeria does not have a fair judicial system for the helpless Nigerian citizen. If it was an elite citizen(the "who is who" in the society), do we think these kind of punishment would have been judiciously applied? Go around Lagos state to see a lot of siren blaring convoys driving against traffic in their quest to either catch-up a flight or etc and causing havoc to other road users. Some of these people in these convoys are members of the state cabinet and other top government functionaries. What has the government done to these set of people? Take the case of former speaker of the House of Rep(Salisu Buhari) who was convicted of a case of certificate forgery some years back, what was the punishment for his offense? A mere fine of 1,000naira. But i tell you, just a case of certificate forgery in the quest of employment in a company here in Nigeria will land a helpless citizen(who is a "Nobody" in jail with an option of a very bogus fine.Fashola is really doing great reformations in the state and neither am i against his reformation policies but he should ensure that equal justice is applied to the high and low in the society. Remember "What is good for the goose is also good for the gender". |
The illuminated SRS light on your dash signifies that your driver's airbag may not deploy during a collision impact. It's hazardous, please consult your auto technician. |
I have a 2007 mazda 6 too. Check your user's manual very well, it's written there on the maintenance specification page. The specified ATF is mazda ATF M-V or dextron 3 if the former is not available. Why not consult your mechanic again to see if the cause is as a result of the ATF change? |
Do you own a Mazda car, truck, or SUV like Mazda 3,5,6,millinea,protege,tribute,CX etc. Lets talk and share our experiences. What is your view on these cars? Fuel economy, interior/styling, engine, how strong the body is? etc. I own a 2007 mazda 6i 2.3l 4cyl. The fuel economy is very superb, beautiful car but no much power from idle. I travel appro. 45miles daily by 5days/week and it uses a half tank of 68.0litre full tank capacity. It got a superb bose sound systems, beautiful interior and exterior, twin exhaust, bezel xenon headlamps. No mechanical or electrical problems so far. I use a mobil 1 oil 0w40 for my services. All fluids are intact. All-in-one, my 2007 mazda 6i is a sweet car for a young and classic mind. It's eye catchy. Lets know yours please. |
Extensive use of detergents will cause the shining paint finishing of your car to look dull overtime. |
I use a 2007 mazda6 4cyl 2.3 and my gas consumption is superb. 22mpg city |
Some of the major problems that is eating deep into us Nigerian's is religious fanaticism and partiality. Now, just because you worship there and may be you don't want to offend your pastor and co, you decided to compromise substandard services against your child's well-being. I guess if it were somewhere else, by now you would have even invited the appropriate regulatory authorities to look into the operations of the creche. We should not rely only on our leaders to make things right, we all have a part to play for a better Nigeria. The choice is yours to decide what is best fit for your child. Mind you christianity never teaches us to be partial. Partiality is a sin! |
Always make sure there is the recommended good quality coolant in your coolant box. Check your radiator cap cover for the OEM coolant specification. |
How much would you do a 2007 mazda6 key? |

My 2007 mazda 6i specify ATF M-V , pls does anyone know where I can get it because most gas stations I have been to don't seem to know ATF M-V. |
215/55 R15 won't do any harm to the car. It's still within the recommended +/-3percent limit for tyre and wheel change. The diameter difference for 215/55 R15 compared to the stock tyres is +1.5percent while the speedometer difference is +1.530percent. Which is just 0.9miles per 60miles faster compared to the stock 205/60 R15. As per MPG, it won't cost any noticeable difference. The choice is yours |
195/60 R15 is smaller in width by 1" than the stock(205/60R15). May be the tyre dealer is only trying to market the one he has to you. For better balancing and handling performance, you may use 215/55 R15 on wheel diameter 6.5" - 7.0" J. You may go to www.1010tires.com to get more info on tyre recommendation for car brands. Cheers! |
I have thought about the idea of a lastma officer arresting a traffic offender and then the next the lastma officer does is jump into the drivers sit of the arrested vehicle and start driving without knowing if the car is in good condition or not getting use to the driving patterns of the car. These could be hazardous to other road users as there is a possibility of brake failure or an accident as a result of poor handling of the car by the lastma officer. Lagos state govt should look into this practise by some lastma officials so to control the rate of accidents caused by lastma officials always. Imagine the lastma man driving a danfo bus without knowing the braking distance being managed by the danfo driver. May God save us from the hands of some agbero-lastma officers that are in the LASTMA. |
