Career / Re: "Earning N50M Annually In Nigeria But Considered Poor In Developed Countries" by Kennydoc(m): 12:12pm On Jul 13, 2021
TeraHawks:
How many people earn $100k annually in US? About 70% of Households in US earn below 100k annually. So you must be a big boy to earn that much in the US.

But the key issue is how much is left after paying bills and taxes.

In Naija, the equivalent is about N32m which comes to about N2.7m monthly. Do you know what you can do with N2.7m monthly? If you live in a duplex in Ikeja GRA (swimming pool inside your compound etc.), your annual rent is about N6m, so broken into months it comes to about N500k; and that is the major monthly expense o. By the time you remove rent and all other expenses, lets say every thing comes to N1.2m monthly (that is on a balling level o!). You can comfortably save N1.5m every month for a family of 4.

Now look at the US with approx $8k monthly, to live in a townhouse in a good part of town (their version of Ikeja GRA high brow area), you are looking at about $2.5k monthly (for a reasonable house). Monthly bills and every other costs for a family of 4 lets say another $3.5k (keeping it conservative). It leaves you with $2k for savings. That is approx N1m.

It's pretty close overall though the dude in Naija also has the luxury of a driver and maid.

Bottomline is, people in that pay range are living comfortably and stacking paper both at home and in the abroad.

But the person in Naija has the advantage of saving more overall. Plus, he enjoys all the amenities you can think about; good schools, good healthcare, constant power, water and security etc.

You forgot to mention that the Ikeja GRA guy probably pays school fees worth as much as 5-15m per annum for 3 children. His counterpart in Europe doesn't bother about school fees.

Another thing you need to note is that if your job pays you 1m Naira per month in Nigeria, doing the same job in the US will pay you as much as 10k dollars per month. How many Nigerians earn as much as 1 million Naira?

Let’s start with what the value
of $1000 is in the United
States. Is $1K valuable or
valueless in the US?

Do you know that in the US, some
average people’s monthly rent is
over $1000? We haven’t included
taxes and other monthly fees. Now
in Nigeria, apart from few places in
Lagos and Abuja, I don’t think there is a place in Nigeria where
monthly rent is above $100 for a
bedroom apartment. So you see,
with 50M naira annual income,
you’re a million in Nigeria, but a
poor or rather, an average man in the US, UK, and Canada.

DO YOU AGREE? A Man Who
Earns 50M Naira Annually In
Nigeria Is Considered Poor In UK,
US & Canada? Let’s hear from you.

That's an argument between me and my tight paddy!!!

Drop your comment below.

How many people earn 50m naira in Nigeria except large business owners? That's over 4m naira per month.
Even the well paid Nigerians probably earn about 5-10% of that.

If you want to compare, do it to the full. A position that pays you 50m per annum in Nigeria will probably pay 500k to 1m dollars per annum in the US.

As some have already said, an equivalent of 50m in the US or UK is a big amount of money. Only a small proportion of people earn that much (especially in Europe), and they are not considered poor.

Can u not read? I clearly said those figures were provided by Nigerians themselves in SA.
South Africa does have the economy to support 1M+ immigrants, infact the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) estimates there are over 1.5 M Zimbabweans in SA.

SA per capita income is over $12,000 while Nigeria's is under $5,000, so why wouldn't there be 800K Nigerians in SA?

So 2.4 million migrants in SA with 1.5m of them from Zimbabwe, yet you're still saying there could be 800k Nigerians?

Monogamy:

Which of the major cities in SE? Where are the progressing economy and properties building..

If all those listed are there in SE, why are the people leaving the region enmass?

As you guys keep saying that Igbos are leaving the South East, it makes me realise how dumb some of you are.

Igbos are not leaving the East enmass. They are simply going to other regions that are less saturated with business to start trading. That is why they dominate the markets in many states, which is what this article is trying to portray.

Onitsha alone has 4-5 major markets. How do you think an upcoming trader will survive there? He will rather go to Taraba where there are fewer markets and less trading awareness.

Igbos are not running away from the East. From 2016 population projection, Anambra was the 10th most populous state in Nigeria and considering its small size, it had the 2nd highest population density after Lagos. Imo was the 14th most populous state also with one of the highest population density.

If Igbos are running away from the East, how come Eastern states retain a decent population despite their small size? The overall population of the South East of course will remain smaller than other regions because South East has 5 states while others have 6 and the North West 7.

I can’t even remember how many time I’ve used Jesus in some of my prayers even tho I’m Muslim.

Grandma will always pray for you in the Christian way and that Jesus gets on my lip sometimes just like my Christian mom always say alihamdulahi sometimes when she’s trying to thank God. Especially considering the fact that she was previously Muslim and converted. So it’s sometimes on reflex.

What this judge did might be an eye service tho but it’s not uncommon especially judging she’s a Yoruba.

My dear, "so help me Allah" cannot be common. Whoever says it did that deliberately. It cannot be a reflex, cos that phrase does not exist in the Islamic world.
It's similar to someone saying 'InshaGod' or 'inshaJesus'. It cannot be a mistake or reflex.

I know doctors who migrated to the UK immediately after their housejob. This guy in question is 4-5 years from the completion of house job.
If he goes to Eastern Europe, he will still need to return to Nigeria after 5 years study to do MDCN exams before he can do housemanship. More so, many of those Eastern European trained doctors aren't that knowledgeable.

Dear doctors in the house, I'm a third year medical student in a nigerian university, I got an offer to study medicine in eastern Europe, will it be wise to accept to offer and start over again or should I complete my studies here.
My major reason for accepting the offer is the fact that I'm scared that I wont be able to practice (or it would be very difficult) to practice in the country of my choice, because I heard nigerian certificates arent held with high regards compared to others from European countries
I just want to know if it's possible to practice somewhere else after completing my studies here with a nigerian degree

Please finish your programme in Nigeria. It's only 3 years remaining. Don't listen to anybody advising you to go and start afresh in Eastern Europe.

Like some have said, there is a big difference between Eastern and Western Europe. Eastern Europe includes countries like Ukraine, Romania, Poland etc. Even if you graduate from medicine there, their doctors aren't very well paid. You will still need to migrate to the UK, US, Canada, Australia etc and believe me, you will still sit for exactly the same exams as your counterparts who finished from Nigeria.

Studying in Nigeria will expose you to a great deal of knowledge. Your communication skill will be poorer but you will be a very good doctor. You can pass the licencing exams of any country once you graduate from Nigeria.

If you need more info, you can pm me. I don't want to say much here, but I have much more experiences and examples to share with you.

How many of the northern Emirs are Hausa?
How many of the governors and top politicians are Hausa?
How come the traditional, religious and political leaders are more than 80-90% Fulanis despite Hausas constituting more than 80% of the Hausa-Fulani population? How come 15-20% are ruling the 80-85%?
The same Fulanis go about killing non-Fulanis including Hausas in the north yet you tell me an attack on Hausas is an attack on Fulanis.

This is the reason why Fulani is placing bounty on Nnadi Kanu. They believe he is part of the reason people now understand that Fulanis are the problem of West Africa. Go to Mali and see what Fulanis are doing there. They are problems any where they are. The earliest the Housas and Kanuris understand this the better for them. They say Housas and Fulanis are One. But ask yourself, how many Housas are Governors in their own state, how many are Emir, how many are in Key positions in Buhari government? Is that not obvious that there is a clear deceit.

Hausas are among the dumbest and most docile Africans. I shudder at the way they allowed foreigners overshadow them in their own land.
I wish it was Igbos that the Fulanis met in the land. There's no way they would have given them the kind of space Hausas gave them.
All Nigerians are suffering today because of the docility of Hausas.

Politics / Re: Anambra Election: Azuka Okwuosa Beats Opposition In Online Poll by Kennydoc(m): 4:32pm On Jun 16, 2021
Wisdomkosi:
Azuka Okwuosa Crushes Opposition With Inspiring Online Poll

Leading APC governorship aspirant Hon Azuka Okwuosa is commanding strong support and admiration through his online campaign for a better Anambra.

IGBERE TV reports that Hon. Okwuosa has inspired residents, indigenes and well-wishers of the state to believe in the possibilities and latent resources that lie within the state and polls have shown that more than any other aspirant for the Anambra 2021 governorship, he has used the online space, especially the social media platforms, to illustrate his dreams for Anambra to Anambrarians while outlining his plans to bring the dreams to reality.

The online poll shows that 40.2% of the electorate has chosen Azuka Okwuosa as the most preferred APC candidate for the 2021 gubernatorial elections in Anambra. It is a strong number in favour of the former commissioner for works and transportation. The next preferred candidate according to the polls is Barr Ben Etiaba with 19.8%, followed by Sen Andy Ubah with 15%. Also featuring in the poll are Chief George Moghalu with 14% and Dr Amobi Nwokafor with 11%. The statistics show the impact and influence of Okwuosa’s online campaign.

In the month of May, Hon Azuka Okwuosa made waves on the now-banned Twitter with a trending hashtag, “Let’s Fix Anambra.” The hashtag, which appears to be a shortened form of his campaign tagline, “Let’s Fix Anambra Together”, resonated strongly with the Anambra populace. Strong comments were made in support of Okwuosa’s campaign, and amidst several criticisms from naysayers and opposition party loyalists, the voices of the true Anambrarians prevailed. They have embraced Okwuosa and his plans because they believe that the idea of fixing Anambra state is very timely and inspiring. Moreover, it makes a compelling argument that his motives are well thought out and grounded on a healthy desire to see the state flourish.

In recent weeks, Okwuosa has beefed up his campaigns with well-crafted imagery that is helping his supporters and non-supporters see his innate desire for his beloved state. The images he shared on social media have helped Anambrarians develop a mental picture of what Anambra could look like if they decide to stand by him in November. The images portray Anambra as a developed state equipped with world-class infrastructure, effective transportation, agricultural development and breath-taking aesthetics. He has got social media buzzing and caused raised eyebrows in opposition parties.

According to a south-eastern youth leader, Solomon Emenike, the Anambra electorate has high expectations from the next administration. Another online poll revealed areas of major concern to Anambrarians. The poll highlights the areas they expect the government to tackle and in the order of priority expected. 38% of the electorate pointed out security as a priority, 29.4% for infrastructure, 12.3% for employment creation and 20.3% were spread out across agriculture, education, health and environment. Little wonder why Hon Azuka Okwuosa has inspired such followership as these major concerns of Anambrarians fall within the scope of his blueprint.

Okwuosa appears to be the most prominent contender in the online polls in preparation for the November elections. No other aspirant has shown so much strength and effort to help the electorate understand and support his ideologies. His strategies have paid off, and they have earned him the nickname “Mr Let’s Fix Anambra”, another proof that the people believe in him.

https://igberetvnews.com/1393023/azuka-okwuosa-crushes-opposition-inspiring-online-poll/

Did you deliberately try to be deceptive? He didn't crush any opposition. He won the poll as the most preferred APC candidate. There was no mention of APGA or PDP candidates.
