It's not like it saves time for you, as both of them are 3 letters. Why do you prefer to mess up your writing? Do you really find it fun reading you as yhu? Even if you do, it's not right writing in that manner when you expect the public to read what you've written. Any write up meant for the public becomes a formal writing, and you should avoid using casual terms. |

If you do, is there any item where you live which price has increased more than 50% since January 2020? In most serious countries, price increases for most items are much less than 20%. Some are even around 5%. In Nigeria on the other hand, prices of most things have doubled and tripled, and in some cases even quadrupled. That's a whopping 100-300% increase. Is it not clear to you that it is more of a leadership problem? |
Politics › Re: How Andy Uba’s 200,000 APC Supporters Were Stopped by Kennydoc(m): 11:59pm On Nov 13, 2021 |
ddippset: Ok lemme put it this way, maybe you and your ilks would understand.
Anambra has 2 million voters.
You people expect 200 thousand voters to come out and vote Andy Uba.
Remaining 1.8 million voters right?
So why didn't Soludo and the PDP guy get a total of 1.8 million votes since you expected eveyone to come out?
The point is not whether Uba should have won or not. The point is also not whether Uba forged that 200k number in his primary because I know he did.
My major grouse here is those expect Andy Bus to have 200k votes in the main election because he got 200k votes in the primaries...
How is that even possible? How? Even all the contestants barely had 200k votes total!
That has got to be the most idiottic logic in the history of mankind. You don't write sensibly at all! To start with, nobody is saying Andy Uba must have had 240k votes. The point in question is the disparity between the total votes he got in the primaries versus the total he got in the actual election. Let me make it a bit simpler. In the primaries, only APC members voted. In the general election, many of the voters do not belong to any party. What that means it that out of the 43k votes that Andy Uba got, a good proportion of them came from non-APC members. If we assume that half of the people who voted for him don't belong to any party, it means only about 10% of the supposed voters in the primaries turned out for the main election. If 200k people were eager to see him fly the flag of APC in the election, how come ordinary half of them did not show up during the main election to make sure they brought him into power? You're asking how come 1.8m people didn't vote for the other candidates. How did you arrive at the fact that APC has only 200k supporters in Anambra? That 200k APC members voted for Andy Uba during primaries, does that translate to APC having only 200k members? Can you see that your argument is absolutely senseless? |

I don't envy certain things about you guys. Biko. To start with, you can get a haircut in most parts of the UK for £10-20. To put that into perspective, people who earn minimum wage earn about £9 per hour. That means with 1-2 hours wage, a minimum wage earner can have a hair cut. How much is minimum wage in Nigeria? I guess a max of 30k per month. For someone who works 40hrs per week, that's ₦187.5 per hour. |

Assume the guy was Muslim and always quoting Islamic verses everytime and warning people to convert to Islam before it's too late etc.. I guarantee you it will start to piss you off.
People come on NL to read stories and wind down not to read Bible verses or to be told the world will end soon.
For instance, this thread is about Mayweather's exotic cars, but yet here we are talking about religion. There is a place for that on Nairaland which is the Religion section, he should try to be respectful to others and keep his religious comments to that section.
cc: Righteousness2 - this message is for you Yes, I am biased because I'm a Christian. However, if I was a Muslim, I would simply scroll past his posts and not bother reading them. I don't read every single post on the front page of every thread I open. Non-Christians don't have to read his posts, and most of them actually don't. For that reason, they are not bothered about what he posts. If he was a Muslim and posting Quranic verses, I would have learnt to ignore him by now. That's what most people do when they see the posts he makes. Those who feel he's constituting a nuisance should report him to the mods. If he is breaking NL rules, the mods will ban him. People come to Nairaland for various reasons. What appeals to you may not necessarily appeal to another person. There are some threads some people find interesting like those BBN and celebrity threads while others consider them useless. Same applies to the posts in the different threads. Enjoy the ones that appeal to you and ignore others. There is definitely a link between the exotic cars and religion. Some people look at the wealthy celebrities displaying their wealth and consider themselves failures. They begin to look down on their own little achievements and belittle the grace of God in their lives. Some even get to the point of depression. Posts like that remind us that all these things we see are transient. There is a bigger picture, and genuine lovers of God should not be distracted. If religious comments are kept in religious sections, some people who never go there will never get the benefit of those comments. Many Nairalanders only open threads that appear on the front page. The fact that tens of people keep liking his posts means that many people appreciate his messages. Those who are not happy should simply ignore the posts. It's as simple as that. Live and let live. |

Your posts irk the hell outta my veins. Oh my God! Are you sure you're a Christian? What do you mean by him forcing faith down the throats of people? Do you really understand what evangelism is all about? Is there a difference between what this guy is doing and persistent evangelism? How else do you convert souls other than letting them see how God desires them to be righteous? BTW, the guy you quoted never boasts about his righteousness. Using Righteousness as his moniker is only a way of reaffirming the word of God that says "we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus". 2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.If his posts irk the hell out of you, then you probably haven't found God. All these alleged nepotism or lopsided employment is either a ranting out of ignorance or an outburst that will soon reveal the true case of marginalised Nigerians because more northeners are employed now to balance & check the Federal character system which is one of the core function of the Commission. All those accusing North of depending on govt to earn survive need to wake up & access authentic data not concocted data means to tarnish PMB's image in the south with no authentic data to back their claims. Why are southern media report only appointments involving Northerners? I have complete list of PMB's MDAs appointments from 2015-2020 which clearly evident that South have taken lion share compared to North as shown in the data above. I also have the data containing the statistics of political appointments of PMB also proven Southern Nigeria taking wide margin compared to North. Unfortunately, most educated Nigerians only learn the true nature of political game they're drawn into after govt has finished its tenure, that's when they'll know they're fooled by political tricks. Do you think we are all dumb and stupid? Imo State probably produces more graduates every year than half of the entire North East states. For that simple reason, they should have more people getting enrolled into the civil service. Most of the states ranked high in terms of numbers have always produced more graduates than most northern states. It had nothing to do with marginalisation against the north. In the same Imo state, there are thousands of graduates riding keke and doing menial jobs. How many graduates in the north roam about without jobs? Because there are fewer northern graduates, most of them are assured of jobs after graduation. So Buhari is trying to balance out things for the north and has decided to completely cut off the South East? He has chosen to keep employing and promoting mostly northerners. Go and check out the highest ranked police officers from IG to commissioners. Over 80% of them are northerners. You think a successful and united nation will be built like this? |

Coronabirus: Police promotion doesn't need quota system consideration, it's done purely on merit. Point of correction, that Kwara man is Northerner because Kwara is Northern state. Nigeria isn't defined by tribe or religion but based on geographical location defined by boarder demarcation. Most MDAs and the security architecture have been giving more employment offers to northerners. This has been going on since independence. Though Obasanjo and GEJ tried to reverse the trend a bit, Buhari has made it much worse than it was even during the military. The implication of it is that there will always be more northerners at any level of service. Taking Nigerian Police as an example, there are far more northerners who are AIGs, commissioners of police, assistant commissioners of police etc than there are southerners. For that reason, even if true merit is applied, there will still be more northerners for promotion. If quota system is applied at the point of entry into service, there will always be enough Southern officers who will achieve promotion by merit. You guys should stop making it seem like northerners are more proficient in civil and security service than southerners. It sounds extremely stupid and absurd. |
