Ephemmm:
Reduction of constitutional age has nothing to do with Confab's recommendation, only simple majority is needed which could have been easily done if PDP wishes to.
The issue you're raising bothers on constitutional amendment, and constitutional amendments are carried out by the NA and the 36 States Assemblies. It's not as simple as you make it. Also, lawmakers don't just pick a little aspect of the constitution and talk about amendment. They look at a bigger picture because of the stress and difficulty of the amendment.
I repeat, there is no need reducing age at election of federal lawmakers. 30 is very appropriate, and even as a young guy, I won't advocate for that.

2015-1999 = 16 years. All the Presidents throughout this tenour were from PDP, backed up with majority in both the upper and lower chambers: tell me what stops PDP from ameliorating this archaic law which requires simple majority.
Constitutional amendments have been carried out by successive dispensations of the National Assembly, and a few critical issues have been addressed over the years. A complete overhaul of the constitution is very difficult to achieve. That was part of what the last confab hoped to achieve but APC turned it down for political reasons, and Buhari has already discarded their report.
To me, there is nothing wrong with 30 years age limit to contest a seat in the NA. The rep in question can come back in 2019. I'm sure he will be up to 30 by then.

This is kind of archaic constitutional policies PDP has been formulating for the past sixteen years.
Are you aware that it's 1999 constitution that we're using now? How come it's PDP that has been formulating our constitution for the past 16years?

this country is full of shit, that stupid seun fela dey spew rubbish on buhari list and people casting stones left right and centre, but now the law made by your foolish anti youth lawmakers that will not allow someone below 30years to represent even his people at the state level is a total shame. This is where youths should have one voice. Am really sad. seun fela this is where we need your voice. This is a grass root matter that needs your attention not buharisz list
Truth is dat a man less than 30 years old is too young to be a federal law maker. He can start out as a councillor or state law maker. 30 - 50 years seems very appropriate me.

This double faced OP again!

I remember you drummed support for Saraki to be senate president despite his known antecedents just to spite APC. People like you shouldn't be taken seriously for your double stand on national issues.

The reason you are aginst Saraki now is the faint hope that a PDP senator might clinch the presidency should Saraki be removed. For you and your likes, it's not for the love of the nation but for your stomach.

Thanks for the preaching anyway. We already know Saraki and his colleagues are joking with the immunity idea. It won't fly.
Barcanista is far more open minded and neutral than you can ever be, even in your next life. You're the last person that should call another double faced.

Now let me ask you, what was your reaction when Saraki decamped from PDP to APC? Did you not celebrate him as a progressive?

Barcanista has always been against Saraki's corrupt antecedents right from time, even before the thoughts of PDP taking over the leadership of the Senate came up.

You should cure yourself of hypocrisy and stop attacking someone else.

If you're 18 or over, you're an adult as far as they're concerned grin And they see it that you're getting a lot of pressure to have sex anyways so why not make it safe and "healthy".

It's not like na the single condom them hand out for school dey be the one thing that go switch on lightbulb for ur head say u wan go do sumtin grin
Some might have been suppressing the pressure of sex because of the fear of pregnancy and STIs, especially considering that they wouldn't have the boldness to go and buy condoms themselves. I'm actually referring to young teens who haven't done that before, and still have some shame. Giving such a young person condoms could make him fall at the next temptation.

I still believe young persons should be encouraged on abstinence. Abstinence isn't as difficult as the society makes it seem, especially for those who haven't started indulging in the acts. The challenge usually comes when one has tasted the pudding for the first time.

Today Buhari sent Jonathan packing, tomorrow it's Tinubu, next it's Amaechi.

Lol, it's not a big deal na.
Funny enough this kind of thing happened to me once. I came home from school one weekend and they gave out condoms because they were having all these "safe sex" speeches. One fell out of my bag I guess and was lying on the floor and my dad almost fainted grin
Hahahahaha. I'm sure he lapsed in and out of unconsciousness for a while before he could come to terms with what he saw.
But I'm just not okay with all those distributions of condoms to teens. It's more like giving them licence to go ahead. Even those who haven't been considering the acts before may want to find a way to put their condoms into use.

...... Okay Mr Righteous man, i think my very 1st comment on NL this morning is commending an Op that preach about the dangers of pre-marital s*x (tho it is not on the FP yet), and that is what i preached all the time, so for you just jumping into conclusion and spit out what you have on mind at my humble self, is not only a slander, i am also appaled by that. You asked about those who have chosen celibacy, do you even understand the meaning of 80%? Did you see me generalizing?! Just look @ the way you are putting words into my mouth by saying what i never said. May the good Lord forgive you. BTW, when you talk about pre marital sex, i owe that to God almighty not any man...... And all i said up there about 80% is under the context of marriage, forgetting that there are still some people that have disjointed view about life especially in here. Do have a nice day and God bless bro.
Okay, sorry for the way I sounded. It's just that I was shocked at what you attributed to séx, in terms of human living. While I eagerly anticipate great séx when I get married, I still believe there is much more to my life than having great séx.
It's okay sha. Don't be offended.

...... Okay i won't. But bros won't be happy reading that o!! A solution is what he needs like now, if a manhood refuse to function, 80% of living is gone you know?!.
So 80% of your purpose for living is séx? Those who chose to be celibate in life then have little or no purpose, according to you. Now lemme ask you, if your enemy (cos it won't be you, by God's grace) has an accident which ended up damaging the spinal cord at the lower back, such that he can neither walk nor achieve erection anymore, does it mean the person should go and hang himself?
You have a distorted mentality about living and human existence. I attribute it to overindulgence in sexual intercourse.

Ok there's much difference
I don't think you have a problem here since you've been able to identify them

You should spend more time trying to pronounce those letters eg...N and L
From there proceed to words that begins with them....then start using them in sentences
Is there really much difference?
Try pronouncing both letters and see that your tongue will be touching your hard palate almost in the same fashion.

@bossto
The first thing you will need to learn is how to properly pronounce the two letters, and the difference between them, in the art of pronouncing them.

In pronouncing 'L', your tongue touches the hard palate of your mouth, while you gradually expel air through the sides of the tongue and mouth. In doing this, you can pinch your nose and still be able to pronounce it comfortably.

However, in pronouncing 'N', your tongue not only touches your hard palate but blocks the release of air through your mouth. You thus gradually expel air through your nose while your tongue is resting on your palate. If you pinch your nose, you won't be able to pronounce it at all.

Practice with this illustration until you learn to pronounce the 2 letters, then you can start trying out words.

Good luck.

Its like when BH started and some myopic Muslims didn't see much cause for alarm because Christians bore the brunt. Some even rejoiced secretly at the fate of the 'infidels'. But now, we see the murderers apply federal character in their rampage.

There are some things I wish PMB should have done differently since may 29th. There are some actions APC have taken which proves they're another type of PDP. However, at this point national survival is more important than loyalty to a group of people who don't know I exist.

If we rewind back to march 28, I still can't see a Nigerian I would have voted for other than PMB. The ship looks unsteady right now but I'll remain hopeful like Ben Afleck in the film "Armageddon" and trust that like Bruce Willis saved the planet eventually, PMB will be used by God to salvage Nigeria too.

Half of Nigerians died or they sold their cars?

Meanwhile the previous Govt wanted to even increase fuel sometime ago before they were defeated at the polls.

Guy, just read that post again. Subsidy cost is falling because of the drop in the landing cost of fuel, which is as a result of drop in crude price. You don't expect the cost of subsidy when crude oil was $100 per barrel to be the same with the cost now that crude oil is less than $60 per barrel.

Again, subsidy is not peculiar to Nigeria. Did you read this part of the post:

"According to the OECD, coal, natural gas and petroleum received yearly subsidies of $160 billion to $200 billion from 2010 to 2014 in the 34 OECD countries and six emerging economies".

RomanceRe: N*ggas Talk More Than B*tches These Days by Kennydoc(m): 2:39pm On Sep 25, 2015
Teempakguy:
I have a scientific explanation for this.

the actions of one gender influences the other gender in subtle ways. It is a failsafe system, created by nature in order to ensure that a species doesn't evolve to a monosex one. Therefore, if the females are getting ruthless, it is only natural that men take up female characteristics. So that there can be a strong difference between gender states.

Contrary to what feminists whine about every passing hour, gender roles are assigned by nature itself, not humans. Biology dictates gender role for each species. Hence, if one gender should try to break out of it's role, the other would subconsciously carry up this role. It's a natural phase and has been observed by many scientists. Including, most famously, Nikola Tesla. The reality of this shook him so much, that he developed a fear for women. Knowing that sometime in the future, they would be the dominant gender.

So, I bet you that you can be sure of more sissies to come. The more power women take, the more men relinquish, and women must increasingly learn to associate and love men who are weaklings and effeminate. If we continue on this path, gender roles will eventually become completely switched. This is natural evolution at work and has been observed already in black widow spiders, ant kingdoms, eagles, and many other species in which the female is dominant.

There is a consequence for every action. Even one geared towards "equality"
Christianity won't let it happen. The church has a way of reminding women that they are meant to submit to their husbands, cos it's spelt out in the scriptures.

You're right about the unrighteous anger. It often wells up in me when some folks start exhibiting their traits of hypocrisy. I passionately hate hypocrisy.

I don't belong to PDP. I actually hated the impunity of PDP over the years and wished for it's collapse, but I didn't desire APC to be it's replacement. Maybe because I wanted somebody more neutral to carry the flag of APC, and not Buhari.
To understand that I had nothing against APC as a party initially, I strongly supported Ngige for Anambra gubernatorial elections last year when he contested under APC. That was when I was still seeing APC as the original ACN, which I held in a reasonable esteem, save for Tinubu's undue influence.

Like you mentioned, APC and PDP are the same, and they are both made up of evil people. The same vices in PDP are well abundant in APC. That's why I feel pissed when some people start trying to twist our sense of reasoning.

By and by, your response was apt. It wasn't filled with vileness. That shows you're not like most APC and even some PDP members here on NL. Thumbs up.

Yes... Christ is my cornerstone, on Him alone I build. My argument here doesn't nullify that fact.

I only react like this when I see APC folks displaying brazen hypocrisy, and at the same time calling for patriotism.

I've NEVER gloated openly about the challenges of the nation, and if you care to know, I personally pray for Buhari and the FG almost every day. I doubt if you do that.

APC, whether directly or indirectly, needs to apologise to Nigerians for initiating the politics of bitterness in this nation. The party showed no bit of patriotism during it's time as an opposition party. By the time APC and it's members realise the errors they made as an opposition party and genuinely seek ways to make amends, that's d time that true healing can occur in the hearts of Nigerians. It's only then that you can call for patriotism with a sincere heart, and expect to see people respond.

Let me recap, I don't EVER wish Nigeria evil, but I also don't fail to remind your folks that you guys began it, whenever I see you attacking anybody following those footsteps.

Right but no more than those in the whole eastern region where no development of any kind has occurred for decades. Building personal mansion is not development.

All allocations completely looted in Igboland to the point where human life itself is not sustsinable.

That's your priority sir.
Hahahahaha. This guy is a clown. If they ask you to travel, you refuse.
All allocations are looted in Igboland, yet Governor Obiano is currently not owing any set of Civil servants, not even pensioners, despite that he didn't collect bail out, and didn't take any loan. At the same time, Obiano is building malls and constructing flyovers in Awka and some other parts of the state. Mind you that Anambra's allocation is less than what about half of the states collect.
No development has occurred in the Eastern region for decades, yet Enugu and Owerri remain among the 10 or 15 most developed cities in Nigeria.
Thank God you acknowledged that Igbos build mansions and don't live in brown-roofed houses. How many poor people live in mansions? If only you can show me the mansions in Kwara State, then I will take you serious.
So what is your point really? Is there any SE state where indigenes are crying of poverty like in Kwara or Osun?
Bro, you're suffering from Acute Confusional State.

You weren't thought, you manner less lout...

You all are just manifesting what is an integral part of you, Jonathan's loss only brought it out, you can remain like that forever & see who stands to lose more.... sad
"....Weren't THOUGHT, you MANNER LESS lout..."
Grammar!!! Typical of APC sycophants.
Your whole party starting from your president is full of hypocrites. That is the obvious truth.

I hate it when you guys preach about patriotism to the nation, cos you all have no iota of it in your beings. Your patriotism lies to APC, Buhari and Tinubu, and we care less about these.

Its sad. How can you wish your country and its leader to fail just so you can get an opportunity to gloat?

What psychological malaise is in operation here?
Stop being a hypocrite. You're forming patriotic now cos APC is in power.
Is that not how the whole APC used to gloat over the challenges of the nation during Jonathan's administration, such that APC never for once commended the FG for any achievement, not even when the army started winning over BH between Feb and March. Every move GEJ made was always viewed with a political lens.
Please spare us that sermon. APC has taught Nigeria the politics of bitterness.
