iammo:By next year, Yorubas would have been president for 8 years and VP for 4 years out of 20 years of democracy. Has any Igbo man handled any of these positions for the past 35 years? Are we not all Nigerians? In the spirit of fairness, a Yoruba man shouldn't handle any of those 2 positions for at least the next 20 years by which time power would have come back to the south for 8 years, gone to the north for another 8 years and would be returning to the south. |
uhn
Wetin? You no know ur party again? |
JasonScoolari:Did you consider this part of the report? Our correspondent learnt that the victim was taken to Mirabel Centre in Ikeja, where a test conducted on her reportedly revealed that there was a laceration in her private parts. |
deomelo:If you use a fake WASC to get admission into the university and study up to PhD level, the day you are exposed, you will lose all the certificates you acquired post WASC. You should be knowledgeable enough to know this. If Buhari does have WASC, it means every other training he got is null and void. This is his true test of integrity and if he fails this test a second time, nobody should come and buzz our ears with that integrity crap again. |
globemoney:Presidential and VP candidate are both Christians and you think, they can poll up to 200k votes? |
seunmsg:What's the highest position Igbos occupied under Jonathan? So you will rather have a Yoruba man as VP and let the unity of the country be completely destroyed by a clueless and incompetent president rather than making a change? Are you guys so greedy? The SW has handled the top 2 positions in the country longer than any other geopolitical zone since the return to democracy. By next year, you guys would have completed 8 years of presidency and 4 years of vice presidency and yet it is not enough for you. Even NW would have had only 6 years of presidency and 5 years of vice presidency by next year. Igbos haven't tasted any if the top 2 positions since the incompetent president overthrew a democratically elected government 35 years ago, yet we have been contributing our part to the development of the nation not only in the SE but in every single region of Nigeria where our footprints are very visible. I tell you categorically that Buhari will lose the election next year. You guys should stop overestimating your voting importance in Nigeria. The people that will win the election for Atiku are the people of the North Central (aka Middle Belt, including Southern Kaduna). It will be over their dead bodies they will vote an incompetent bigot like Buhari again. Let me also remind you that out of those 14 million registered voters in the SW, at least 1 million or more are Igbos, and there are many other Igbo voters scattered across Nigeria. We'll see what happens in less than 4 months time. |
buhariguy:You must be a joker! I know he will not be prosecuted (cos he has immunity) neither will the HoA impeach him, but at least the society knows APC breeds very corrupt politicians, so anticorruption won't be a campaign point next year. Take that out and we know Buhari has nothing more to talk about. |
buhariguy:Yes, it's a blackmail but that doesn't deny the authenticity of the video. Guys always blackmail girls with nude pics they sent them when they were still together. The fact that it is a blackmail doesn't mean the pics doesn't belong to the owners. It could also be a set up by a contractor or a group of contractors who had just got fed up with that brazen corruption, and they decided to nail him. |
buhariguy:You get sense so? Somebody hid a secret camera on his lapel pin and you want the video to show his face? You think they carried a video camera man to go and conduct an interview on Ganduje? |
[img][/img] FlirtyGist:This young man died simply because nobody around there had a basic medical knowledge. A simple tourniquet (which could have been a belt, rope, scarf etc) on that right arm would have saved the guy. They just allowed him exsanguinate. The Bible was right when it said "My people perish for lack of knowledge". It not only applies spiritually but physically. May his soul rest in peace. |
Mizwisdom:Still in PDP means he remains in PDP for now. He didn't make it clear that he is not contemplating leaving. Nothing says he won't leave before the end of the year. |
contigiency:Party man for where? Someone that they've used threat of impeachment to reset his brain. |
Olohunjedalo:The notes were not printed this year. The OP was misinformed. They were all printed in 2014. What I understand is that the CBN stopped releasing new notes printed since 2014 in their vault, and they haven't printed new ones since then. It shows you that there was probably a government embargo on minting and release of the ₦100 notes. That explains why all the notes that have been in circulation are weak and dirty (because they have been in circulation for 4 years without being replaced), which are notes that would have long been withdrawn by CBN and destroyed. The question for you is this: why did the government stop the minting of new ₦100 notes for the past 4 years? |
Smile4daddy:Same way the families of the over 300 murdered Shiite members haven't forgotten |
adexinbox:Oga, Yorubas were going to produce the Speaker of the HoR under Jonathan like it was under Yar'Adua, but Tinubu mobilized all ACN reps and they voted for Tambuwal (another NW politician, despite the NW having VP position). He did that to undermine PDP in the SW and strengthen APC which is what exactly happened. Compare it to what APC government has done to Igbos. APC has chosen to punish only Igbos for all the misdeeds of PDP for the past 16 years forgetting that the highest elected position Igbos occupied under PDP was Senate President between 1999 and 2007. A Yoruba man ruled Nigeria for 8 years under PDP yet you believe PDP hasn't been fair on Yorubas. Let God be the judge in all these. |
seunmsg:Which power plant did Buhari build? Any link to it? Oh yes, every government does all those. |
modath:Buhari truncated democracy yet came back claiming to be a democrat and Nigerians believed him |
Greenarrow01:And how many goals did you expect Messi to score in his first year? |
RockHard:The joke is on APC and their claimed fight against corruption. If Atiku was that corrupt and they were truly fighting corruption, how come they shielded him for almost 3 years without probing his source of wealth? |
Hotfreezer:I think the issue is that Igbos as a group are no longer taken seriously both in PDP and APC. It's easy to undermine Igbos and nothing happens. It's really a sad situation for the people of the South East. |
modath:You've started again, abi? Tinubu hasn't abused Jonathan and other PDP members before? Even Osinbajo, Lai Mohammed etc have had nasty and demeaning things to say about Jonathan and PDP members. Aren't they Omoluabi? The truth is that Tinubu knows Atiku is extremely potent. He also knows Atiku has info on him and since his deals are also shady, he can't say much. He's still studying the realignment of forces to know if and when he should say something. Tinubu knows the coast isn't clear for Buhari at all. |
Tolahinges:So by 2023 what happens? We'll vote him for a third tenure, maybe make him a life president cos he's the only one out of 198 million Nigerians who can tame the looters. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? |
ChrisMafian:Even Fashola the minister said power generation is about 3700MW, and you're saying there is an improvement. Chai! By the way, why should there be an improvement when Buhari hasn't built or commissioned any power plant in 3½ years. Where will the improvement come from? |
MeanChris:Which means you're saying it would have been better he was dead like many speculated |
seunmsg:In times like this when the decision of the electoral umpire doesn't favour your party, you remember the court should be the one to decide. When we were talking about Osun, you guys said INEC had all the powers to decide based on the electoral act. Shame! |
Tk4all:Sarrki is different sha. You identify that one by his extremely poor grammar. However, NgeneUkwenu, CilicMarin and ChrisMafian are most likely operated by one person. The tone and content of their posts sound very much alike. |
kehinde1588:You said people vote party not candidates... Its application differs significantly between state and national elections. For example, APC got more votes than PDP in Anambra guber elections last year, but I can assure you APC cannot poll more than 10% votes in presidential election in Anambra next year. While all the SW states may be under APC, many of the electorates root for PDP. The voting pattern of the past few years has made it clear. Moreover, APC governors of the South West in this administration haven't been fantastic. The one that was touted to be the best governor in Nigeria was rejected by the party structure. I am sure we haven't heard the last yet from Lagos regarding what Ambode may consider doing for or against APC. Ambode and Amosun are bitter today. Are they the ones that will vigorously campaign for votes for Buhari? Osun was nearly lost by APC, and the electorates are still bitter. Is that where Buhari will win with 70%? Oyo APC is scattered now. The party isn't even sure of remaining in power in d state come 2019. Is that where Buhari will score 70%? Ekiti and Ondo have strong PDP presence, so I don't even see Buhari winning significantly there. I also need to remind you that Tinubu hasn't made a statement for almost 2 weeks since Atiku won PDP ticket. He knows the coast isn't clear for Buhari anymore, yet you without any electoral value are making all the noise. Let us watch and see. Let me remind you that just like Yorubas are split nearly 50:50 in their religious affiliation so they are also split nearly 50:50 in their political inclination. I cam assure you that nobody will win with more than 60% in the SW next year. You can put a bet on Buhari. Change can't come overnight, but the truth is that Buhari isn't making any effort. He's so sectional, clanish, divisive, nepotistic. He has divided the nation much further. There is bitterness in the hearts of many non-Hausa/Fulani Nigerians. To me, that is his biggest sin. The Middle Belt and North East minorities are crying, but he doesn't give a damn. What about the Igbos and other southern group? You may feel that Yorubas are protected cos Osinbajo is VP. Those who know better understand that Buhari doesn't even give a damn about Yorubas. He only draws closer to Tinubu during elections. I can bet you that if he wins again come 2019, even Yorubas will suffer too, cos he's never going to need them again. Let me assure you that Tinubu will be terribly undermined if Buhari wins again, and he (Tinubu) is very much aware of that. Buhari isn't fighting any corruption. Can you point out to me what he has done to show he is fighting corruption. There is also massive corruption going on in this government. The only difference between now and in the past is that the country isn't very rich now. All the financial improprieties of the past are still happening today. Moreover, one of the most painful parts of it is that many of the people that squandered the wealth of the country at the state level in different states since 1999 are in APC now. From the SS and SE (which are PDP strongholds) alone, I can mention 7 immediate past governors out of 11 who are in APC today: Amaechi, Akpabio, Timipre Sylvia, Oshiomhole, Uduaghan, Sullivan Chime, Martin Elechi. Aren't these guys the ones that enjoyed excess crude account sharing at the state level? What did they do with the money? Today, they are the saints in APC that will take Nigeria to the promised land. By the time you add other regions that are APC stronghold, you will realise than ⅔ to ¾ of immediate past governors of Nigeria are in APC today. You see, the PDP of now is far better than the PDP prior to 2015 cos many of the bad eggs are now in APC. What developmental project has Buhari initiated? The improvement being celebrated in the power sector today are as a result of the power plants Jonathan built. What has Buhari done to improve the power sector? Can you name just one thing he has done? Talking about rail transport, everything Buhari has commissioned so far was started and carried to almost completion by Jonathan especially Abuja - Kaduna standard gauge and Abuja light rail. Obj and Jonathan are the ones that revived our rail transport. In Education, Jonathan built 12 new Federal universities including the only Federal University in Buhari's home state that has produced the Head of State the 3rd time in this administration. What has Buhari done in the area of Education? In the area of curbing waste and dealing with corruption, Jonathan initiated IPPIS and TSA. What has Buhari initiated? Is it not one tenure that has almost come to an end for him. If he loses out now, what legacy has his administration left behind that the next administration will build on? You see, Buhari is an error of a president. He truly has nothing to offer except for his famed integrity which is all a ruse. Buhari should go in the interest of survival of the nation. |
kehinde1588:I am not using Osun events as a yardstick. I have told you that Yorubas never give block votes to any party. Is that too difficult for you to understand? I have a number of Yoruba friends and I know how many of them detest APC (at the National level) to their marrows. Yes, they may support their Yoruba APC politicians but they hate Buhari's administration. Not every Yoruba man is irrational like you. Go and look at previous election results in the SW and enlighten yourself. PDP ruined Nigeria over 16, yet APC has destroyed everything that has held us together as a nation in only 3½ years. Imagine a party that came with a promise of change, yet they have destroyed every good thing they met on ground without initiating anything new. PDP's stance pre-2015 is even understandable cos they felt too comfortable and were misbehaving. Now, they have learnt their lesson thru the hard way that they can be voted out. APC failed to maximise the opportunity they got to make Nigeria better despite the whole promise of change. I tell you, Buhari is the reason PDP stands a chance next year. If Buhari had run an inclusive government and united all Nigerians (taking the whole nation and not just the north as his constituency), even with his failures in managing the economy, nobody would have been taking PDP serious by now. As it stands, we are ready to give them another chance knowing they have learnt their lesson. If they fail again, APC will be re-elected in 2023, and it will continue like that until both parties stop taking Nigerians for a ride. |
kehinde1588:Tinubu doesn't control all Yorubas. He can only use his influence to sway voters towards APC, but he can't actually determine by how much APC will win (if at all they will win SW) in 2019. In 2015, Jonathan was very much hated in the SW yet he got 45% of the votes. I can assure you that the % of votes won't differ much in 2019 from what it was in 2015. SW is all APC... Story for the gods. We saw how APC won Osun. As it stands now, PDP will get 45-55% of the votes in Osun, Ekiti and Ondo in 2019. I can also assure you that Buhari will never smell up to 60% of SW votes. |
kehinde1588:South West votes have never been locked down for anyone/any party in the past. Go and look at 2015 and 2011 election results again. |
Ohammadike:With the population of under 25s at almost 150 million, I can say Nigeria is headed for the rocks. The economy is dwindling while the population is exploding... Disaster looms. |

when fashola openly gave strategy for Yoruba to capture power come 2023 their youths called us names, little did we know they secretly have similar plans only difference is atiku can never agree to single term,
