At least, this Government does not seem to be borrowing to do owambe. We are seeing the areas where borrowed funds are being invested and as it is those projects in no time will pay off the loans.

What has been a danger to the health of this economy is deliberate delays in the yearly passage of the budgets and gangstar like lack of support for executive policies by the National Assembly.

Borrowing and spending it on the so called social investment is as bad as borrowing for owambe. You don't borrow to squander else you won't be able to pay back. You borrow to invest in capital projects.

Surely, Fayose's own can't be different just because he knows how to shout with the intention of diverting attention to distract from the real issue.

One honest truth Southerners like me must tell ourselves is that Fulanis will keep ruling Nigeria at least every 8 years. They are the political leaders of the North and are far better positioned to rule in the North than Hausas. So whenever power returns to the North, chances are high that it will be a Fulani man that will take over.
The main issue is having a Fulani man who is developmental minded and who will brings all parts of Nigeria together, rather than one who thinks he's a president of the North.
Atiku remains a better choice to move Nigeria forward compared to Buhari. He understands what it means to successfully run businesses. He can easily grow the economy, compared to one man that has never built or run any successful business in his life. He was given a thriving economy and he crashed it, yet wants to be elected again. God forbid!!!

Atiku is not a bigoted Fulani. He has an Igbo and a Yoruba wife. He understands southerners better. Yar'Adua was a Fulani, yet he unified all parts of Nigeria.
Atiku is a nationalistic Fulani compared to the bigoted Fulani in power. He's more suited to lead a multi-ethnic nation like Nigeria.

The SW sold their position of Speaker of the HoR to the NW to strengthen the opposition. The whole SW ACN reps voted for Tambuwal instead of supporting the PDP candidate from the SW (can't remember who it was). That was the beginning of the loss of Yorubas in GEJ's administration. Despite that, Jonathan didn't treat Yorubas half as bad as Buhari has been treating Igbos.

The difference between PDP and APC is that if PDP wins, every region will be adequately represented in government. Nigeria is one nation. It is Buhari's brand of politics that introduces deep seated nepotism.
Even if Buhari wins with a landslide in the NW and SW but Atiku wins the election, the 2 regions will still be very much represented in the government. That's how it should be.

You're right to some extent, but there is no reason for now to believe that Buhari will sweep the NW and NE.

Talking about NE, Taraba and Adamawa are already for Atiku. Gombe will equally go to Atiku cos it's a PDP state. The rest of the NE will be shared between Atiku and Buhari, so Atiku will win the NE.

As for NW, Buhari will win but the margin won't be anything close to 2015. Atiku is a Fulani Muslim just like Buhari, so he will sell in the NW to some extent. Secondly, Atiku's emergence will give the north another 8 years in power, and you think they won't fancy that? Thirdly, the respect Northerners had for Buhari in 2015 as a kind of saviour of Nigeria has faded. Even his core supporters have seen how abysmally he performed in the first tenure, so more people from the NW will be keen to try a new person.

Atiku will win with over 60-70% in the North Central. There is no way ever that Buhari can win in Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa and Kogi. He may win in Niger, and Kwara may be shared nearly 50:50, with Atiku having a marginal win.

SE and SW will vote massively for Atiku, but I still expect Buhari to get up to 20-25% overall.

Buhari will win in the SW but it will also be a marginal win. He can't get more than 55-60% there.

At the end of the day, it will be a tight contest, but Atiku will carry the day.

Let me also remind you that Igbo votes are not only in the South East. Igbo votes are scattered all over Nigeria. At least 20-30% or more of Lagosians (and by extension Lagos voters) are Igbos. No wonder Igbos won HoR seats in Lagos in 2015. Apart from Lagos, Abuja and every other state has a good number of Igbo voters.

2019 election outcome will be determined by the North Central. Their (almost) block votes gave Buhari the victory in 2015, not your inconsequential 55%.

If Atiku is going to defeat Buhari, then he should be able to do that CONVINCINGLY.
Am afraid that is not gonna happen cos the nearest he could come with this Obi convo is a neck to neck run which the pesident with his power of incunbency could utilize to his advantage to rig the election with little or no uproar.

Now compare that with if he had chosen his VP from SW. With the economic downturn orchstrated by the present government they would vote overwhelmingly for PDP knowing that there is something there for them to look forward to. Also you will be deceiving yourself to think that an average northerner would vote 'yamiri' as the call the Igbos.

Igbos are more interested on having the right atmosphere to do their business than they are of a VP position. They can always broker an agreement with the party leadership on getting so many other sensitive positions which would impact on the well-being of their people.

A great miscalculation PDP has made I must admit. Owuteka m!

Secondly, Igbo delegates gave him the victory in the primaries. What other way should they be rewarded?
Thirdly, why should Yorubas vote another Yoruba man when they have Osinbajo?
The SE votes that would have been lost due to disinterest of Igbos will outweigh any possible vote gains from the SW, if a SW candidate was chosen.
Talking about Northerners voting an Igbo VP, that's rubbish. Are you saying Igbos will never be VP again in Nigeria talk more of president? Was Ekwueme not Shagari's VP in 1979 election? As a matter of fact, Igbos have always been on the same side with the North until 2015.

SS: 80%
SW:35%
NC: 55%
NE: 60%
NW:10%

The 95% in SE and 80% in SS can't nullify the effect of that 10% in the NW.

Anyway, Atiku will poll more votes in the NW sha, at least 20-30%. He's equally a northern Muslim and Fulani.
He will also get more than 35% in the SW. Even Jonathan as much as he was hated in the SW in 2015 polled 45% of SW votes.
In the NC, Atiku will get between 60-70%. It's only Niger State that may tilt towards Buhari.
Taraba and Adamawa votes will be almost all for Atiku, including Gombe. The rest of the NE states will be shared by him and Buhari.
I know it will be difficult to beat Buhari, but it's very possible, and it will happen, by the grace of God.

In 2015, despite the claim of Yorubas that Jonathan marginalised them and they didn't have any top position under him, they still gave him 45% votes. Buhari MAY still win in the SW, but I know Atiku will get more than 40% of the votes. The battle ground will be in the Middle Belt.

You're a joker! If Buhari chooses an Igbo VP, Atiku will win in the South West. Hope you remember that Buhari only won with 55% in the SW in 2015. South West votes are nearly equally shared between PDP and APC. Whoever will win the SW will win marginally.
If both PDP and APC field SE candidates as VP, Atiku will win Buhari hands down in the SE and SS. Buhari is the most detested politician in the SE at the moment.
