My point is that ministry isn't for ordained priests alone. It is for every believer. The essence of ordination of priests is for orderliness and leadership in the body of Christ, but the actual work of ministry is for everybody. 1. The attack was on a military base and 16 villages.
2. The Army guys were overwhelmed and ran away from the base and escaped into the sorrounding areas. Unfortunately, we don't know how many of them were killed.
3. There isn't a clear figure regarding the total number of people killed, but it could be anything between 150 and 2000.

I was only trying to point out a few things to you:
1. There is no record of how many military men were killed. You can't even estimate it from the quoted figures, cos nothing in the whole report alludes to that. Majority of the victims were villagers. The Wikipedia article says nothing about how many army casualties.
2. If the terrorists that attacked Metele base were interested in killing locals, they wouldn't have had any resistance cos they had wiped out the only military base from which opposition would have come.

If APC and Buhari promised to eradicate Boko Haram and they've been insisting that BHT has been defeated, how come we can record such casualties from the supposedly highly armed military? Didn't Buhari request for $1 billion to equip the military against BHT just a couple of months ago?
I remember that after that Baga attack, there was a lot of pounding of the terrorists even before handover in May 2015. How come after 3½ years of a governmemt that promised to defeat the terrorist, we could lose over 100 of our army guys just in one attack?

Is it not clear to you that there is a big issue on our hands?

If the only military base that would have challenged them in case of a possible attack in the area had been brought down, how many locals do you think they would have killed at once if they were interested in that?

So it turns out he is part of The Message church, and their prophet is 'William Branham', they have very strict rules over the women in the church but I don't see anything that the men have to give up per se. What disturbed me the most is that the teachings were mainly cantered around 'Brother Branham' and what he said and what he prophesied etc.

I found this experience very strange and alarming, why wouldn't they just preach straight from the Bible and that be it? They even have a Christian and non-Christian sboed asked where in the bible it said this and he said there isn't.

BUT, apparently Brother Branham' had a dream where God showed him hell and the devil was wearing very high heeled shoes and that's why it's not allowed. I had never heard of this church before meeting him, they all live in fear, even I started to live in fear and have paranoia about hell etc, it was mentally tormenting for me. We had some arguments around it, almost to the point of breaking up.

I think he thinks I'll 'convert' deep down, but the way I'm seeing it I can't. From my perspective, I'd be fine with him going to his church and me attending mine, but if we're thinking long term that would be tricky and probably not work and he would not be happy with it.

I am torn because I really love him, he is my first boyfriend and we've shared a lot of memories together. I don't know what to do. I don't know if he is part of a cult or whether that is indeed the truth! How would I not wear any make-up on my wedding day? What if my kids want to take part in sports at school, do I tell them they have to wear dresses to run or in the gym? I never thought this would be the thing that would break us apart, I am torn and trying so hard to mentally switch off, but I don't know what to do.

It's unfortunate what you're going through. The mistake you made is failing to establish the entirety of who he is, including his religious views right from the beginning. It's one of the things that should be sorted out in the first month of relationship. You should have found out the church he attends and his views about core spiritual values.

Judging from what you narrated, I think that relationship will not likely work. You need to be with someone your heart is completely at peace with. The issue in contention is something you simply can't gloss over. I know you're scared of how to start afresh, but it's better to start afresh now than to face the impending doom. I can assure you than if you continue to trust God, you will ultimately meet someone you will love better and your heart will be at peace with.
I had a failed relationship, and when it failed, I thought I was doomed cos the girl in question was a very nice girl. I only had a few issues with her (mainly her size and a few other things bothering on body features) but her good virtues and facial beauty far outweighed the few issues. I didn't want to lose her, but I was still worried and unhappy about those issues. I prayed and fasted for God to take away that burden I had, but it remained. Something else happened, and she broke up with me. I thought I was already messed up as I didn't believe I could meet another girl as good as she was. Two and half years down the line, I met another girl who happened to be everything I ever desired in a girl: spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally, psychologically etc. It's been almost a year, but I still consider myself privileged to meet her.

What I'm saying is that there is a better package ahead for you. You don't have to force yourself to remain in a relationship that will most likely mess you up psychologically and spiritually simply because you want to keep a good man. There are other great men out there, and God can cause your path to cross with theirs if only you can be patient and trust Him for that.

We'll have a repeat of 2015 - 2019 (maybe worse of what has been so far). All Nigerians irrespective of tribe will bear the brunt of it as they are presently doing.

The only thing we have that is closest to an informed estimate of population spread are the telecoms data (attached below) because it is unbiased in any form, and it clearly shows the SE as the least populated while the SW is the single largest/most populated. Oyo and Ogun population alone are more than those of the SE combined (without including Lagos or Ekiti, Ondo, Osun or Kwara and Yoruba-speaking Kogi).

You cannot decide the population of the different tribes from the population of the geopolitical zones. There are so many Igbos in Lagos today, for example. Even Ogun state has many Igbos living there today who do businesses in Lagos.
You will always have the population of the South East lower cos many Igbos are scattered everywhere doing business. Same cannot be said of Yorubas most of whom live in the South West.

Take a look at JAMB and WAEC enrolments in the past 8 years and see that South West states haven't had a fantastic representation compared to the South East. I know Yorubas go to school just like Igbos. If only Ogun and Oyo have more Yorubas than all the Igbos in the South East, how come it doesn't reflect in JAMB and WAEC?

What's with all these luggage identification by Nigerian local airlines? If someone has checked in their luggage, why do they need to identify them again before boarding?
It almost caused an issue for me the first time I flew Aero with luggage. They were apparently shouting my name and seat number while I was seated at the back of the 'molue' plane and I didn't know, until one of the air hostesses came to tap on me. I almost made a scene there cos they were trying to blame me saying my luggage would have been left behind on d ground, while I was shouting, saying that it made no sense for me to identify my luggage again before boarding after earlier checking it in.
