OboOlora:₦40k in Nigeria has more value than $120 in the Western World. For a distance in which you will pay £5 for a taxi ride in the UK, you will not pay more than ₦500 for an equivalent distance in Abuja. For house rent, an average room (including student hostels, and not self con) in a big UK city will probably go for about £300-500 per month (for rent). That's nearly ₦150 - 250k. Nobody pays that much for a room in any part of Nigeria (including Banana Island). My point is, cost of living is cheaper in Nigeria so we should always factor that in determining how good or poorly people earn in Nigeria. |
CilicMarin:Since the beginning of this administration till less than 3 months ago, you guys had been disturbing our ears on how Ambode is the best governor in Nigeria. As soon as Tinubu rejected him, he became IPOB. You guys should have some sense of dignity. |
Buterflyle0:Rubbish! Oga, if grammar is difficult for you, it isn't for me. Oshiomhole too hasn't been bad with grammar. If he was referring to PDP losing despite their rigging, he would have said something like "people who cannot endure the pain of losing after their rigging...". It's not a difficult grammatical construction for someone like Oshiomhole. All the observers commented that the rerun elections were marred by irregularities. Anyway, I'll wait for the election petition tribunal to do their job. No need wasting e-saliva arguing with you. |
Buterflyle0:Oga, use your brain! If you don't understand grammar, go and enrol in an evening school. "...only people who can accept the PAIN of rigging..." If he was referring to PDP's rigging, why use the word pain? Was it painful to PDP when they were rigging (assuming they were able to rig)? How also can rigging by PDP be a substitute for the word defeat? Is it PDP's rigging that led to PDP's defeat or APC's rigging? Is it PDP's rigging that caused them pain or APC's rigging? And how did PDP rig the election when they are not the ruling party? On what basis did INEC allow PDP to rig an election in a state ruled by APC when APC is the ruling party at the FG level? You have obviously sold your soul to the devil for political gains and your conscience has been seared. Such a shame! |
What about the 1000 votes removed from Adeleke's votes in Ayedaade? Nobody is saying anything about it. |
Benekruku:You should be ashamed of yourself for this rubbish you wrote. For your information, this flood is as a result of overflowing of the banks of the Niger. Ogbaru is a local government which is low lying, and it's in the Niger Basin. Anytime River Niger overflows it's banks, it (Ogbaru) is one of the worst hit areas. |
Mahsums:Wrong thread... The man in question is Igbo. |
Aplaudez:You know nothing! He could never have stopped the rerun from holding. He can only challenge the whole process in court, which he's going to do. I know the election petition tribunal will cancel some of these rerun results. Adeleke may still win finally. |
Freestyl:Oga, there are some results that are clear and people don't complain much. Did you hear people shout like this when APC won Ondo? Even when Fayose lost in Ekiti despite the belief by PDP that they would win, the anger wasn't that much. In the case of Osun, PDP and even APC didn't believe Adeleke could put up that kind of fight on Saturday. Nobody did. It was that Saturday's outcome that gave PDP the morale. Talking about yesterday, anybody sincere to themselves know that it wasn't an election that was held yesterday. It was daylight robbery. If yesterday had gone like Saturday and APC still won, people would still have complained but it wouldn't have been that bad. Let us be honest to ourselves if we really want Nigeria to move forward. What happened yesterday wasn't an election. |
agarawu23:He was Aregbe's Chief of Staff. You can't really isolate him from the disaster of Aregbe's government. Chances are that he would have a similar approach to governance. |
agarawu23:PDP is a thieving party... What did Aregbesola do in Osun for the past 8 years that put the state in a debt they won't finish paying in the next 20 years? |
johnglo2:Saraki is the leader of PDP |
How come there isn't any mention again of the 1000 votes deducted from PDP in Ayedaade Local Government? On the original result sheet signed by the returning officer, it was 10,000+ votes for PDP while in the final collation, INEC gave them only 9000+. If the 1k votes were actually removed, it means APC actually needs a margin of about 1354+ votes to win today's election. Who knows more about that situation? |
maasoap:Oga, there was no 95% turn out in the South East in 2015. As a matter of fact, South East had their worst voters turn out ever. Say what you know. What we had in 2015 is the best version of free and fair election we can have considering the way Nigeria is presently structured. The North – South dichotomy will always make a perfect election impossible, but a manageable election is possible and that is what we had in 2015. The possible malpractices in Rivers and few other South South states were a little attempt by PDP to counter what APC did in Kano State where Buhari got 1.8m votes and there were no invalid votes. We remember how Kano REC and his entire family was murdered shortly after. The rest of the northern states especially Katsina, Jigawa etc all had votes that were equally inflated for Buhari. |
OhiOfIhima:It's like you're new in Nairaland not to recognise that the person you're quoting is a BMC member. PDP isn't done and dusted. They may not win in 2019, but 2023 will be very interesting cos the Sai Buhari factor won't be there. |
oladele00:So what happened to PDP the following year after Ekiti 2014? Hope Buhari will allow a free and fair election next year just like Jonathan did in 2015. |
midolian:So you're impressed with the conduct of the election today? Be honest to yourself for once. |
Yusuf54:Who said they didn't stand by him? Saraki and Atiku both met and discussed with Omisore. What else should they have done? The intimidation by security agencies was too much today, abeg. |
Yusuf54:Oga, the election held today is totally different from what happened on Saturday. APC didn't play a do or die politics on Saturday cos they underestimated the extent of rejection of Osun people on them. That's the only reason why PDP won last week. Today, it was a matter of life and death for them. |
AmazonTopaz:Unfortunately, you misunderstood me. I was not talking about deceitful submission just to manipulate a man or get him to do your bidding. Also, when I talked about ruling over the husband, I was only referring to winning his heart completely such that he can go any length for her. It's often a reward for the sacrifices of such women when the eyes of their husbands must have opened. It usually takes a while to happen. My babe taught me how to sincerely apologise whenever I hurt her, but she didn't shout or force it. She showed it and within a short time, I was won over. If I had a misunderstanding with her and I was sad, she would apologise immediately she realises I was hurt. Later on, she will open my eyes to the way I offended her and in most cases, I even treated her worse. Because she has apologised even when she had a weaker reason to do so, I will often be very motivated to apologise to her. Gradually, I learnt how to say "I'm sorry" even for the slightest offence. That is what submission does. |
AlhajaChinyere:You are right. When respect or honour is forced or demanded, it loses it's flavour. That is the reason why God doesn't mandate us to honour him. He gives us the willpower but expects us to make the right choice. When we love and honour Him by choice without compulsion, it means so much to him. |
zoba88:It's Onicha-Ugbo, OP. May her soul rest in peace. Such a terrible way to die. Kai! |
AlhajaChinyere:See your hypocrisy! I mentioned that African men bear most of the financial burden of the families but you didn't pick on that. It's only my mention of submission that caught your attention. Shameless feminists! I don't need you to agree with me, but a submissive woman ultimately rules her husband. A woman who submits to her husband can get the man to do anything. You don't approach your husband with authority or insistence on your stand as a woman and expect him to yield. He's a man and men have ego. When you hear some men being tagged as woman wrapper, then you know their wives are submissive, and they've held their husbands in 'captivity'. I don't expect you to understand anyway. |
MARKETfund:Not when the polling unit is PDP's stronghold. They will want 100% turn out, if possible. |
Johnpaul01:If you know what "being an Oyedepo" entails, you will choose to remain the way you are in your lowly state, rather than enjoy the "pleasure and dignity" of being an Oyedepo, with it's attendant pressures and stress. |
donstan18:A lady's character traits and virtues are more important than any amount she has in her account, especially in Africa. Even if she has a lot of money, our culture makes it such that the man still bears most of the financial burden. As far as I'm concerned, any lady that either has a decent job or skill which can yield money and matches these up with sound character in the home front (including submission) is good to go. |
Lipscomb:Because Udom is WORKING! ![]() |
psalmy2:Some of these 49k votes were actually votes against APC. If the man had stayed back in APC, some of his voters would have voted for PDP. |
Does anyone know if local flight operations continue during NLC strike? |
sadeola:I'm not very familiar with Osun politics, but I think you're right. |
otherway:If he's disqualified cos of certificate forgery, Akin Ogunbiyi who was 2nd placed in the primaries will take the mandate. The seat will still be for PDP. |
