MrFinbarr:Nice facelift, hope you replaced your battery to a bigger AH capacity because of all these lights and infotainments? |
Datshmates:Here is another number of same auto repair company, they will fix your key issue or any other issue(s) on your car 0706 060 7494, they will open after the lockdown. |
I have been coming across his shady adverts in many posts here on NL and my mind always nudge me against those adverts. Anyways, Mod kindly move to FP for wider awareness before more people fall casualty of his fraudulent schemes. |
I think mechanic (car technician) is the best. Reason is, a lot of people buy cars before building/buying a house. With the increasing number of car owners, car repair will always be a thriving business. |
Datshmates:That is why i said after lockdown, those numbers are company lines and they are shut down until after the lockdown. |
exactly the best our Nigerian Army can do, to repel. |
If you are in Lagos, call these numbers after the Lockdown: 08139841222 and 01 440 6666. Thank me later. |
foolbuster:Thank you chief. |
latestmodel:I think their aim is to build a high capacity engine with the best fuel efficiency for both traffic (city) and highway (long trip) conditions. |
Makawhizzy:I'm wondering which carpenter fixed the car's headrest like this?? |
imhotep:…and another zombie called |
GOFRONT:Where have you been GOFRONT, you don COMEBACK? |
GOFRONT:GOFRONT, you don COMEBACK? |
Good "advices" above. |
KINGreignn:You may be right. I think it was around that time that the company began to be sold from one investor to another till it was eventually acquired by TATA if I am right. (I am not sure if it's still with TATA or has been resold.) The Land Rover company was originally owned by Leyland, manufacturers of Bedford trucks, in England. |
searchng4love:Lol. To some extent. |
foolbuster:The only Land Rover that may be unreliable in the LR family is the Freelander. The Defender has not only been a choice truck for visiting tourists to Africa jungles but also an important feature in the military warfronts. |
My own contribution: Do not park vehicle down for too long, two weeks is too long. Make sure you drive it within your neighbourhood to ensure that all turning parts rotate. You can engage the handbrake/park brake when you park if you drive the car at intervals or periodically. But if you want to park for long to be warming the car on that spot, you may not engage handbrake so that it would not stiffen the wheels. Shift automatic gear to P, put manual gear in Neutral. You can use a stone or wood block as chock to prevent car from rolling. If you just want to warm car, make sure you warm it without revving the engine, if you warm it and temperature gauge did not rise till you off the engine then you have not actually warmed the car. |

searchng4love:Anyways, I admire the Toyota Land Cruiser a lot and at the same time, I also respect the Nissan Patrol very much.
|
searchng4love:Talking about Japanese automobile brands generally, Nissan is not as popular as its Honda or Toyota counterparts, but truth is they did an excellent job with the Patrol model. |
searchng4love:Vehicle bhp torque Nissan Patrol 400 560 Toyota LC 381 401 Defender 295 296 Nissan Patrol tops the table. Unfortunately, it is not a popular vehicle and therefore unfairly underrated. |
searchng4love:They DON'T COME CLOSE to Toyota Land Cruiser or what did you just say?? |
Automatic, if you want a stress-free driving experience. |
Op, you may be correct but I know two other SUVs that are also 'die hards' when it comes to labour, ruggedness & durability. They have withstood the test of time and they are also found in almost every part of the world including deserts, murky and muddy terrains. They never say no when duty calls and there is nothing like "no-go area" with them. They are no other but: 1. Land Rover Defender 2. Nissan Patrol

Toyota Corolla S550 AMG ?? |
Let me come and pitch my tent here. |
Symptoms of bad fuel filter: 1. Vehicle not starting at once 2. Vehicle jerking while in motion 3. Vehicle not accelerating well 4. Vehicle engine going off intermittently Likely reasons for lower engine power: 1. Spark plugs need to be replaced 2. Throttle body (injectors) overdue for tune-up 3. Oil rings or Valve seals leaking 4. Piston rings wearing out 5. Engine is probably smoking secretly and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Likely reasons for the noise you hear when starting (It depends on how the noise sounds) 1. Ignition motor (kick starter) wearing out (if noise accompanies ignition when you start) 2. One or more plugs is either wet or dead (if you hear a sudden spark wen you press throttle or rev on a spot). 3. Engine mount is bad (if you hear a short pull noise that makes engine shake) 4. Gear is wearing out (if noise sounds when you engage gear). 5. Slacking or worn out serpentine belt, it is the belt that connects and makes the alternator and water pump roll together with the engine. (if the noise is a high pitch squeaking/whistling noise) 6. Any other thing can cause noise, take vehicle for inspection and repair. |
You run away from Honda and Toyota only to be hunting for VW again!
I'm afraid you may still end up with either Mitsubishi or Mazda. |
9icetoo:Yes, but dont forget that the condition of the roads then in the 70s to 90s was better, now the roads have become dilapidated (except for this Buhari administration that has embarked on road projects massively) the chances of running abruptly into unforseen bumps and potholes is higher now. Besides, many people who drove those 504s and the likes have also had accidents and either died or left with permanent disabilities. |
This is one of the real musicians, not the noise makers of today that squeak into microphone and hop around like grasshoppers thinking they are singing. |
I think you also need to have photographs of moment when the old engine is being removed by the technicians and moment when the new engine is being installed to the car. |
