It's not that difficult to find real Lagosians on the Island. However, I'm not saying everyone should leave, but I believe the place needs to be decongested asap, if the city is become a sane city. The darn city is just too populated, hence why regardless of how you try to fix things, you would always meet a snag. And most of the people don't even pay taxes - so how do you expect the government to maximise revenue generation from the large population?

I'm all for diversity - but Lagos is a humanitarian crisis.

Lagos is also collecting huge taxes from the huge population.
many times, one person pays taxes for his enterprises in diff parts of Lagos.
therefore the problem is that of corruption and unaccountability on the part of lasg.

Talking abt housing and sanitation in lagos.

When each hour, droves and droves of endless buses filled with inbound migrants coming mostly from the east, make it an impossible task for Fashola to manage rising population into the state, with despicable hygiene and sanitary habits that follow these expansionists along, Why wouldn't you type nonsense and berate Fashola and his govt?

Btw, name ur own governor who has done so much better than Fashola, so we know

More of those ngbatis lazying in Lagos should go, they give bad impression of Nigeria.

Lagos is small in size and was largely developed by the British and fed govt .
How can a gov who inherited a former FG capital not find it easy developing that small piece of land

doc sholz: I still say the problem of Lagos is excessive immigration into the state even nyc with it's superior infrastructure are about just 19million, hence the need for other regions of the country to develop to stop the immigration or even reverse it

And as for housing the future is in high rise buildings unfortunately this requires constant power which we do not have, ultimately corruption is our biggest problem which leads to every other problem

The devt will include devt of the states near Lagos, who have refused to develop despite their proximity to Lagos.
With that, excessive migration to Lagos will be curtailed.
So, what are the Lagos leaders doing with all the taxes collected from the immigrants by the lojas and co.
They can't complete the roads, renovate schools, remove wastes, etc . I smell corruption.

@ Tribal East, I know it hurts but igbos have the best and advanced wealth distribution in the country.
Y do u think an okirika seller won't be rich, them curse him? igbos are diff from yorubas, yorubas have to loot to get rich, igbos dont have to.
And since not everybody can get the opportunity to loot, the result is that majority of yorubas are poor while majority of igbos are in varying ranges of the middle class.

Oyo doesn't have any reason for its poverty scale and ancient slummy face. Lagos is smaller than Oyo but we know which is finer. that one aside.
I have been to Ibadan, the bad sides have swallowed the scanty good sides, its still too dirty and too ancient. Ur villages are nothing to write home about.

Igbo villages don't and can't have face me I face u. igbos are individualistic, not necessarily that communal.
In my family and villages , my father and all his brothers have seperate buildings, so who is going to be facing who?
Each house( which mustn't be a mansion) is seperated from the other by a fence and small land/ foliage bfr the next compound.
Even in the precolonial days, a man builds His own hut, Obi and builds separate huts for his wives, as his sons grow, he builds other huts for them and so on.

The high brow lagos areas have mire igbos.
my yr 1 room mate at unizik lived with family at ajegunle, his father is even richer than mine.
Don't ever in ur life think yorubas can equate to igbos in matters of hard work and success, igbos have good saving habits.
U think that pure water seller in Lagos is going to squader all the days profit on one ashawo or get involved keeping lots of concubines as yorubas do.
That's y u naturally don't think an okirika seller cant have a house,.
Come to Onitsha, u wl find a rich person that sels only pants.
They save, reinvest, expand. That's y most Igbo industrialists have more humble beginnings. Innoson was an apprentice in a motor cycle parts shop, owner of peace mass, an apprentice in motor parts and so on.

Say Lagos not just SW.
But its not true anyway in my own case.
In my village for eg The most successful in non businesses say professionals live in overseas, Enugu.
Most successful popular business men in my village live in Abuja, Aba and Onitsha .
Then Lagos and kano.
The most successful importers live in Lagos.
The most successful nollywood ppl live in Enugu, Asaba and Lagos.
The most successful in making of fashion items and igbo made products live in Aba.
That igbos are doing well in lag doesn't mean the most successful igbos are there, the Igbo tribe is an unpredictable one.
Innoson and ibeto for eg are more successful than many Igbo ppl in Lagos but these are based in nnewi, their hometown.
.
btw, since SW is flowing with milk and honey as u want to dream, y are there much destitute yorubas in Lagos than igbos.
The general point is that no part of yorubaland is presentable: capitals are far below par and ancient. Slums everywhere.
Villages are .......
Stick to Lagos and do so well, the most successful igbos don't live in ogun,osun, ekiti
